regulus arcturus black of the noble house of black

he did one of the most noble things. he sacrificed himself for the greater good and no one knew.

he was an unwilling pawn in a lose lose game but he did what he had to.

regulus black saw or heard every time sirius was being punished or yelled at.

he saw and knew he mustn’t do anything that could make his parents act the same to him. he had to become the golden boy, the son they could be proud of.

but then he found out about the horcruxes he knew he couldn’t sit back and do nothing anymore. he stole it away - fully knowing the consequences that could come from this if someone found out.

sirius black definitely told scary stories near the fire in the common room - especially to first years. he would find people sat by themselves and get them to listen to him so he could give them nightmares or freak them out next time they come across filch and some of the ghosts, eg. the bloody baron.

james potter did sound effects and props to help the ambience. mcgonagall caught him with a skeleton hand and he panicked and explained that it was a back scratcher.

remus lupin occasionally participated and told stories that had werewolves as the ‘heroes’ or anti heroes because it helped him cope.

peter pettigrew was in bed most nights because he didn’t want to get nightmares. sirius had told a creepy story about things that scale the walls and this had him freaked out for three weeks. remus told him he wasn’t allowed to listen to them after that and he was more than happy not to.

to make it sad: some of the stories he told were from his childhood and home life - only james knew this but remus had his suspicions.

i can 100% picture the marauders preforming romeo and juliet in the gryffindor common room (and putting on the best performances of their lifetimes) just because they were really bored and because no one could stop them. it was completely unprompted and they just randomly decided one night “let’s do this!” and moony was like what no but eventually caved. ten minutes later the prologue is being preformed by a sugar-high peter pettigrew as sirius black tries not to wee himself for laughing so hard.

it was the best night/two hours in gryffindor history.
