One of my favourite things about how Hoshino writes Allen is the ways different characters will admit to, admire or in the Earl's case be unsettled by his strenght.

Allen doesn't have as much destructive force as Cross, Sokalo or Klaud but everyone acknoledges his crackhead determination and resolution, but the characters are so dead certain in him as if he was an unstoppable force of nature.

From the time the Earl and Allen meet on screen for the first time

How Kanda is stunned by his Anti-Akuma weapon's evolution

How Bookman trusts that Allen is still alive even as they got some very vague information on Allen's condition

Komui doesn't even try talking Allen out of boarding the Ark because of course Allen would and Komui knows there's no stopping Allen once he decided to do something

How the Earl pursued eliminating Lenalee even with Cross and Tiedoll lurking nearby, but Allen shows up and he grabs his kids in a blink of an eye and disappears as if the IRS was after him

When fighting Jasdevi Lavi turns to Allen to discuss the plan, as if he was the leader of the group

Lenalee outright calls his willpower superhuman and how Krory backhand deems him strong enough to carry while Krory back him up

How Tyki and Lenalee are shocked by him fixing his weapon on his own

Or be very unsettled when Allen surpasses the Critical Point

How both Komui and Reever almost instantly figure it out that Allen was the one who broke the Critical Point

Road guessing that she probably couldn't kill Allen with direct physical attacks

How Cross knows and trusts Allen's spirit and abilities

How Kanda likewise covertly acknowledges Allen to be strong by demanding he pays attention so together they can destroy the Level 4

Apocryphos commends his fighting spirit, that Allen could withstand what Crows and even Kanda got folded by, on three tries, AND retained his memories

Kanda once again trusts Allen to deal with the fusion Akuma going after him.

Everyone who even remotely knows Allen consider him a force to be reckoned with and I really enjoy how it's shown within the story.

The way Sanji was so jealous that Luffy was giving another cook attention

I joke about how Luffy was literally willing to starve to death to get Sanji back and the “platonically married for 20 years” vibe they have but I think the thing is, Luffy would’ve responded like that for any of his crew post-Marineford. IMO the only real difference between Usopp at Water 7 and Sanji at WCI is purely Luffy having experienced grievous and irreperable loss - the understanding, born of the worst possible circumstances, that sometimes when something is gone, it’s gone forever, so you’d better damn well hold onto the things that really matter to you. In that sense, it wasn’t so much that Luffy is bonded with Sanji above and beyond the rest of his crew, but that Sanji was his first real taste of loss since Ace died, and Luffy responded the only way he knew how: by trying to stop the entire world.

What makes it significant, for me, is that of everyone in the crew, Sanji is the only one who really needed this. Usopp’s had his moment of doubt and grown up since; Robin went through the same self-sacrificial “they’d be better off without me” moment of growth two years prior. Nami, Zoro and Franky have never really doubted their belonging since making the decision to join up; Chopper and Brook are just happy to be there. Sanji, on the other hand, has been actively trying to scramble for redemption-by-suicide since approximately Drum Island and is on attempt 478439 by now; I’ve spoken before about Sanji’s insane self-sacrifice problem and it was gratifying to get to WCI and understand why he is Like This (not just the fatal inferiority complex but like. All of it.)

Anyway. The point I’m making is, Luffy’s intelligence (especially post-TS) imo manifests in his ability to know exactly what people need from him. It’s why people are drawn to him, why he wins allies so easily; he can see what people need, and he finds ways to give it to them. So the thing with Luffy and Sanji on WCI is that is IS rooted in Luffy’s love for Sanji - not because Luffy loves Sanji best, necessarily, but because he understood the nature of Sanji’s wounding, and recognised implicitly what Sanji needs: to be needed. So when Luffy tells Sanji he’ll sit there and starve if he doesn’t come back, it absolutely means ‘I love you’, but it also means Luffy sees Sanji in all his woundedness and trauma and perceived, crushing worthlessness, and he says hey, I don’t need you to throw yourself away for me; I don’t need you to stand in the way of a lightning bolt, or throw yourself into an avalanche, or stand between Zoro and death; I need you alive. I need you here, with me. With us.

“I can’t become the King of the Pirates without you” applies to everyone on Luffy’s crew; it’s just that Sanji is the only one who really, desperately needed to hear it, and to believe it.

i don't know, but I think this was brook's "ohh..." moment. Like, there's something about the bond between the first mate and his captain.

Every time I read a zolu fic where brook is one of the first few strawhats who 'knows' about the uniqueness of the captain and his first mate's relationship... idk, but @ author, YOU GET IT, you get me<3.

Like, something about the way brook remembers about zoro's sacrifice and his declaration (luffy is the man who will become the king of pirates!!!), something about the way he looks at zoro in silence before trying to form a word (umm...), something about zoro's little acknowledgement (hm?), something about brook's inability to bring up the 'zoro's sacrifice' topic (oh... nothing...), and something about their discussion regarding brook joining the crew and zoro's response...

Tbh, i just can't stop thinking about this whole page, like maybe it's my delulu brain, but I think there's just something incredibly subtle, unseen, but also revealing? something so fragile, but also soft about this moment.. I can't really pinpoint it or put it into words, but god i just adore this moment so much... (implied zolu and zoro's little moment with the newest SH? this specific moment is for me indeed.)

Can't help but to emphasize, but for me.. it's about brook acknowledging zoro's utter devotion & trust in luffy to the point of astonishment and speechlessness. And at that point he wasn't even a strawhat yet. (kinda like nami in orange town..)

Everything about the nissin hungry days commercials really

Luffy let out his iconic laugh while looking at zoro (gaining zoro's attention), and then he started to praise him by saying かっこいい (kakkoī= cool) and then zoro replied with うるせえ (uru se e= shut up) can't stand his tsundere a$$? He was literally looking away from luffy while telling luffy to shut up, like??

The sky was quite dark and clouded before luffy entered the scene. He approached zoro, as the sun followed him, until it reached the two of them.. getting brighter and brighter by the minute.

The symbolism hello? Luffy as his sun?? Luffy came into zoro's life and he brought light into his life??? Which reminds me of what mackenyu said about zoro: "..and meeting luffy is the biggest thing to ever happen to zoro... though, of course, he'd never say that out loud" God i just love the two of them so frickin muchh😔😔

Times when Naruto tried/wanted to impress Hinata:

So remember when Hinata offered Naruto her answers bc she doesn't want him to fail or as she worded it “she doesn't want him to disappear”:

...and Naruto refused bc he's honorable like that and bc he cares about Hinata and his teammates he doesn't want to drag them if ever he got caught :

...BUT ALSO because he’s trying to be HONORABLE AND A BIG SHOT towards HINATA :

Also that time when he does blood oath using Hinata’s blood and vowed to defeat Neji :

…and when Naruto was down and depressed about his upcoming fight with Neji, like Naruto walking towards the sun, Hinata appeared and made the remarkable Proud Failure Speech (not to mention it was also Naruto’s cheering that boosted Hinata during her fight with Neji ; talk about a great support system) that completely lifts Naruto’s spirit like magic :

And for me Naruto definitely gives off the “Babe, go watch my game” vibe here lol :

…and when Naruto & Neji’s fight was over when for the first time Naruto was acknowledged and praised by the Village NARUTO SPECIFICALLY LOOKS FOR HINATA THE GIRL WHO ALWAYS BELIEVES IN HIM. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT NARUTO WAS LOOKING FOR THAT PERSON HE WANTED TO SHOW HIS VICTORY WITH. I thank Kishi for small but deep details like these. Hinata was so deserving to see this moment but too bad Hinata was out cold, would love to see how proud Hinata would look for Naruto and preferably happy and thankful bc Naruto managed to knock some sense into her cousin Neji :

When Naruto saves Hinata from white Zetsu with his new KCM form. He’s such a show-off in this scene but ofc in a good and fitting way! I also love the fact that he humbles himself and took a moment and acknowledged the times Hina saves him :
