I just thought of something. I was wondering if you wanted to see my book where I wrote the basics and my presentations. Also, I write new words in there but I have also a little vocabulary where I write them because it's much more convenient to look through it than my book where I have other things written.

I recommend having a little vocabulary for the language you are learning, even for English. For example, in my English vocabulary, I have expressions and some words that I found in books like Shakespeare's or on the Internet. In my French one, I have a lot more stuff since I am only at A1 going on A2, I have literally everyday words like goat or teacher, and every time I get bored I look through it and try to memorize them, there is no shame in not knowing basic words, at least you are trying. I also have a German one because I learn German at school and I have also basic words but to be fair, I am not even A1 in German and I have been learning it for 3 years, why is that? I lack the motivation to learn this language. See? No motivation, no learning the language. And in my Italian one, I also have basic words.

I talk a lot, don't I? Sorry, I just got carried away. Anyway, write your answer to my question and I will happily grant your wishes.

Sorry for not posting. I was very busy with school (Olympics, competitions) and I was very sick, I had to take a lot of pills and even go to the hospital but now I am fine. Since I was in the hospital, it allowed me to improve my Italian. I would say that I have the basics fixed, I can write them with no problems. I have been making presentations about myself (my name, my age, my status, my family, my pets) and I do make mistakes but I rewrite the text on the next page correctly because writing is better than just reading, trust me on that, I rewrote a lot of texts in French and I rarely even make the same mistake again. I learnt the besics of the language I want and i decided to switch to listening and trying to repeat. I reached 'Italian songs' on Spotify so i would listen and i am now trying to find a YouTuber that i would like in Italian. For now i only have found Italian vlogs and it's okay because i do love watching vlogs but some people might not so I suggest just writing the thing you like + the language you are learning, for example 'Get ready with me Italian' or 'Granny Italian' i am sure something will pop up and you will like it.

If you struggle with self language learning, i do too so let me guide you through my choices while also giving your opinion.

I go as Rue (not my actual name) and I am from Romania. I know English at a level of B1-B2 with the help of my teachers and French at A1 also with the help of my teachers. How ever i do want to learn Italian but i have no teacher for that, only my cousin that doesn't want to help. I've asked him a lot but he refused every time so i took matters into my own hands.

Now i am learning the basics. If you don't know what the basics are let me give you some ideas

1. Greetings

2. Questions and their responses such as 'Who are you?' 'I am...' 'How old are you?' 'I am... years old' 'How are you?' 'I am good/sad/angry etc.'

3. Verbs 'to be' and 'to have'

These are the basics. If you want to use an app do not use Duolingo. That won't teach you the basics. Maybe as an app Busuu or a video on YouTube.

I do know 2 languages with my native one 3 so I do know what I am doing when I tell someone this. Yes, I do struggle with learning on my own but I do know what to recommend.

Also if you do not have good enough motivation like 'My whole family speaks Hindi only I don't' or 'I want to move to that country or study in that country' you won't succeed. Learning Japanese just because you like anime isn't enough to make you do it.
