Mentally:
I really want to drown every bit of myself into an abyss and wash away every single thing that has created the very fabric of what I am with a god damned flame thrower.
Emotionally:
I'm about ready to hit the point of no return.
Physically:

Okokok I was saving this for an essay I was writing but here goes. A thing I noticed too is, he always noticed that whenever bloodshed is involved, it is not only limited to adults. And because he has been involved in war, he knows that it is indiscriminate. During his interaction with Sora in Kingdom Hearts II you essentially see how he acts without the influence of Jenova, but rather the mild influence of the heartless. That, however, is neither here nor there and may have to do with an addiction as opposed to affliction regarding someone else. During his battle with Sora you think he is insulted, let alone amused by the idea that a child is standing up to him. When in reality, it's further from the truth. Yes, he gets into a battle with Sora as a means to obtain the keyblade for himself, but who is to say he hasn't heard that somewhere along the grapevine it was somehow a requirement? A rite of passage? He is a designated heartless to some degree. But that's not where his interests lie. His interests lie with fighting Cloud (Hence the addiction bit.). So when you see a grown man, particularly a former general, fighting a child soldier who was recruited by King Mickey(let's call a duck a duck)-testing his skills and special awareness, you find that he is praising the player/Sora's skill? Idk how best to put that into words as I am presently fighting off a hangover. But anyway, when you look at it, once the battle is over Sephiroth shows admiration for Sora's skill. He doesn't try to kill him. But he still looks at him as though he should not be involved in war as he regards him. Because Sora is a literal fucking child. And Sephiroth has committed mass genocide where, if he relented even once, it would put a ding on Shinra's radar. And when you put a ding on Shinra's radar and Hojo or any of the other money grubbing war mongering execs catch wind of it, you.are.fucked.
Here's a theory, however farfetched.
In previous Compilation installments, including Opera Omnia, it was said over and over again by other people that Sephiroth was very "picky" or choosy about his missions. As if common everyday missions was beneath him. It sorta creates the impression that Sephiroth was rather arrogant and only took part in missions worry of his status.
First Soldier Episode 1 Chapter 8 turns everything on its head. Because we see that not only does Sephiroth not have a real authority within the system, not only is he mucking around in average missions with the grunts, but he's anything BUT arrogant. He's pushing himself. He wants to do everything he can to act with compassion, even giving the Wutai soldiers a chance to stand down in peace before attacking them. He wants to be a hero. He isn't killing for pleasure, and he doesn't seem to want to kill only unless he HAS to or if he's under orders.
What if Sephiroth wasn't "picky" about his missions because they were beneath him?
What if he was intentionally removing his presence in order to save as many lives as possible? To avoid a bloodbath he KNEW would most certainly happen if he were there, and by his own hand?
Food for thought 🤔

This is definitely a good angle and perspective study for later. I didn't realize that I should have been paying more attention to his pauldrons like that. However, aside from Tetsuya Nomura, this is actually a really good example to take from and further focus on in terms of art challenge.

Hhfgg the positive version of OWA is so cool to hear 🥺
And someone uploaded the full version of the hero OWA for the Behemoth boss where Sephiroth actually can’t die in-game…it sounds so beautiful, elegant, even with a melancholy edge. I’m really curious about the lyrics because they sound different too.

Behold, my first contribution to the fandom. I enjoyed transforming Sephiroth's usually sinister musical motifs into something warmer, to embrace the kinder person he was/could've been; a piece if he were to open his heart. Though music isn't my big expertise, I hope you guys find it enjoyable!

least favorite Seph take?
Hmm… I’ll go with “Cloud has always been a stronger person than Sephiroth”. While objectively it's not the worst take out there, it's still one of the most enduring. I can tell you it was there in the early 2000s, and it's still alive and kicking on various boards. One would think that the rise in mental health awareness over the past two decades would have led people to see the flaws in this simplistic comparison. Alas, this misconception continues to thrive despite the complex realities of the characters' experiences.
While Cloud undoubtedly faced traumatic events and demonstrated remarkable strength of will in overcoming his challenges, his life experiences were more stable compared to Sephiroth's. Cloud had the advantage of a family, a familiar hometown, and the freedom to chart his own path in life. Crucially, he also had people who valued him enough to stand by his side even at his lowest moments. And it's easy to be a good person when your relations let you get back on your feet if you fall.
But to be a good person in spite of, against all the odds – that's something else entirely. Sephiroth never had the benefits of a stable family or a normal upbringing. Instead, he was exploited as a military tool, forced to carry out ShinRA's questionable agenda at a tender age, with his own parent being a ruthless sociopath. Sephiroth was compelled to live a fabricated existence, only to discover that even this fabricated life was merely another layer in an ever-deepening deception. Worse still, every significant figure in his life ultimately abandoned him, often suddenly and without regard – Gast, his SOLDIER buddies, everyone. He was marketed as an idea, not as a real human being.
And yet, throughout the years, Sephiroth remained a decent person. A person who thought about the well-being of others. A person who didn't enjoy the grim trade of combat. A person who pushed himself to the limits to save lives he could save. And that’s a true testament to his strength of character. Until a certain moment, that is.
While Cloud's struggles lasted some years, Sephiroth endured a lifetime of hardship and adversity.

Imagine. SOLDIER vs Turks paintball war
Turks vs soldier, infantry split between them
One group starts at the bottom and the objective is to get to the top of the tower and hit the president with a paintball (this is definitely not official or known about by any of the higher ups, zack and reno masterminded it and got kunsel to spread the word amongst the lower ranks, so the president will be hiding under his desk convinced he is caught in the midst of a sudden company wide civil war)
Genesis tries to sacrifice sephiroth for his own gain but seph starts making out with him to distract him and then shoots him in the back L
Angeal was the only one not told of this bc they were afraid he’d snitch so he wakes up to genesis screaming bloody murder covered in paint on the floor of the hallway and sephiroth trading fire with several turks in black ops paintball gear hanging out of air vents
He closes the door again and pours himself vodka instead of coffee
Towards the end of the game cissnei gets cloud with a flashbang before zack can take her out, then while defending a blinded cloud he runs into an ambush in a hallway and is pelted with paint but gets most of them, cloud drives the rest back and then “you’ll be my living legacy” *presses paintball gun into his hands and fake dies* and cloud barrels the rest of the way to the president’s office fueled by rage and shoots him, winning the game
Angeal gets a call from zack bidding him tearful farewells like he’s dying, makes his last words as he pretends to cough up paint-blood “sorry I stole the buster to use as a painball shield it’s wider than my sword”
Goes up to chew him out stepping over countless bodies of the fallen to find zack now on call with aerith, both fully into the act sobbing over the phone over zack ‘dying’
In the hours between him finding out about the paintball war and zack calling him he got absolutely wasted with lazard so when he gets to zack’s funeral he sees the red paint hears kunsel’s extremely touching speech and momgeal breaks down sobbing “he was too young to die” holding an also sobbing zack on the floor
Kunsel is holding a funeral for him in the hallway, now genesis is storming about raging that he didn’t get one
The paintball duel between sephiroth and rufus lasts long after the game is officially over. They have to drag them apart
