I'm trying to improve my well being and I came to the realization I'm having a really hard time loving myself. I always knew I had an issue with even liking myself... .Today I was listening to a podcast and they said to ask your friends what your biggest strengths are because sometimes you can't see your own strength. Every single one of them had multiple answers because they are amazing humans but they all had one thing in common, one strength was my strongest. "Your heart❤️you care so deeply about people" "Courage to put yourself out there even when you feel down. Kind, even when you feel bitchy." "You're empathetic and thoughtful," . My heart. It's my kindness. It's my empathy. I want it to be my job to figure out how I can show others kindness. I want to be able to feel kindness towards myself. I want to love myself like I used to love myself when I was a very young child, listing my wants and goals, but never acting on them. Just always dreaming. Which I've done a lot of in these 28 precious years. I'm not sure what this post is about, it's my anxiety filled mind trying to create something from it instead of drowning in it - and this quote hit hard when I heard it during the podcast. It's hard for me to find the line where not to give a f and when to care because I feel like I care too much at times.. But like a lot of people, maybe even you... I'm trying. And all I want to do is help people who are struggling with finding themselves, but I need to find myself first. I thought I was going to get some decent sleep tonight because I came home so tired but anxiety wanted to stay up, and I let it. I easily could have stopped watching videos, scrolling mindlessly through feeds, and instead meditate or at least do something that helps me battle with my anxiety then and there instead of pushing it away but I didn't. Self sabotage is my closest enemy. Having a different prospective on everything I do will help change that, I hope. Sometimes I didn't always have the best intentions, I used to think a complete different way than what I really wanted to think. I hope that I can shine kindness to others as bright as this flash in a super cool random mirror in a bathroom of a Cafe. That is all I have ever wanted to know, is how to genuinely feel kind about myself and be kind. So I'm putting the Gram down for the night...
