This picture may look very odd. But it is a special one for me. This picture is taken at the mouth of an inactive volcano (Not sure if it is the only one in mainland) in India. #Ring #fortress of #Thirumayam Located 12kms north of Karaikkudi town in Tamilnadu. Built by erstwhile #Sethupathi #kings later taken over by #british raj, ruins of this fortress still stands as a remainder for the capture of #Oomathurai, younger brother of valor #Veerapandiya #Kattabomman of #Panchalakkurichi. At the best of it's times, she had 7 concentric #rings of #fortification. Today, only 4 of them stand.
