SQUID GAME FANDOM, PLEASE READ!!
AS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN TO SEASON 3 APPROACHES, and our excitement (and anxiety) grows, there are some things we need to keep in mind, especially surrounding SPOILERS.
not everyone is going to be lucky enough to watch season 3 as soon as it drops. some people may be working. some people may be on vacations or busy. some people may just need more digesting time!
this is why TAGGING THINGS APPROPRIATELY is so important, at least for the first couple weeks of release. nobody wants a spoiler. getting spoiled for your favorite tv show is one of the worst things to ever experience.
BECAUSE OF THIS, PLEASE TRY TO KEEP IN MIND SOME ETIQUTTE:
—tag ANY spoilers, big or small, behind a tag—something like #squid game spoilers or #squid game 3 spoilers. it would also be best if you SPECIFIED on your blog what your spoiler tag is so people can block accordingly, at least until they’ve watched!
—when sending asks or replies to other blogs, MENTION THAT YOU ARE GIVING A SPOILER. this helps not only the receiver, but the audience reading those posts as well.
—DO NOT! DO NOT! and i repeat once more: DO NOT! SPOIL THE SHOW FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T CLARIFIED THEY’VE WATCHED!! especially when it comes to major plot points and character death—as someone whose favorite character died four years ago, i am in full solidarity with those whose favorite characters have high possibilities of dying, and it really sucks to get told that without watching.
i myself am going to be deleting/muting all social media until AFTER i finish completely finishing. i will be making videos/notes that i will post later. i will be fully unreachable until then. after that, my blog will be very spoiler-heavy.
THE TAG I WILL BE USING (AND HAVE BEEN USING) IS — #squid game spoilers
please block if needed!!
thank you so much. i am SO FUCKING EXCITED and SO FUCKING SCARED !!!!

Nothing stays forever
Happy jibyeok week! I’ll write happy stuff later, but here’s some angst.
————————————————————————
Jiyeongs heart skipped a beat when the game was announced. She turned to player 067 who had a similar look of horror on her face.
“What are we going to do?”
“How about… how about we only play one game. At the end. Why waste time?” She said as she sat down, feeling as if gravity was trying to drag her to the ground.
“Sure.”
30:00
The clock started.
25:00
They sat awkwardly.
20:00
Jiyeong started to share her story.
15:00
The darker haired girl shared hers.
The minutes ticked by and jiyeong’s mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. With every word Saebyeok said, every slight glance, Jiyeong knew what she had to do.
Sacrifice.
The act of giving up something for the sake of something regarded as more valued or worthy.
By the time she even thought about starting the game, she knew what she had to do. “Let’s play something simple.” She drew a line in the sand with her foot, the presence of the guard a few feet behind them suddenly much more perturbing.
“Whoever can throw the marble closer to that wall wins.” A game she could easily lose. A stupid game that she’d made up in a few seconds.
“Kang Saebyeok.”
“What?”
“My name. It’s Kang Saebyeok.”
Jiyeong smiled. “Kang Saebyeok.” The words fit perfectly in her mouth. As if they were made for her to say.
“Jiyeong. My name is Jiyeong.”
“No family name?” Saebyeok paused, “oh right.”
There was a pause
“You go first.”
“My number is higher than yours, you should go first.” Now no matter how terrible 067 did, she could do worse.
Saebyeok tossed the marble with a flick of her wrist. and watched as it rolled closer to the wall. “Your turn.”
Time seemed to slow for jiyeong. The weight of the marble suddenly feeling heavy in her hand. These were her last moments alive. She’d die in this stupid place. What was she doing!? She couldn’t still live!
No.
What does she have to live for? Even if she didn’t die in the next games, and won the money she’d have nothing to do with it. She’d be alone. Alone in a penthouse with a sports car and motorcycle, but alone nonetheless.
Saebyeok… Saebyeok had a brother she promised she’d come home to. Saebyeok had a mother she needed to rescue from North Korea. Saebyeok needed to live.
For that to happen Jiyeong needed to die.
With that, she let the marble drop from her fingers.
The quiet, dull thud of it hitting the sand sounded like a muffled gunshot.
Saebyeok turned to her “What are you doing?” Her dark brown eyes bore into Jiyeong.
Saebyeok grabbed Jiyeong by the collar and began cornering her against the wall. “I lost you won.” Jiyeong’s voice was steady, as if she was saying the most obvious thing in the world.
“Why the hell are you doing this?” Saebyeok shook Jiyeong, pulling her slightly closer. “Butterfingers.” She smiled softly. “What else can I say?”
“What you said…”
Jiyeong’s promise must have come back to her. “I’ll make sure you win, no matter what.”
“Making sure I win is that what this is!?” Her grip on Jiyeong’s collar tightened but they both know she couldn’t do anything.
She shoved Jiyeong against the wall, still trying to intimidate her. “You think I’ll be thankful!? Take another throw.” She ordered.
In any other circumstance Jiyeong would’ve done what Saebyeok said without question. “And I still wouldn’t be able to win.” She felt saebyeok come closer, pushing her harder against the wall.
“Just… let me lose this thing in style, ok?”
Saebyeok’s calm facade broke. Her eyes began to water and her voice was edged with grief. “Jiyeong that’s bullshit! Just do a real throw!”
Silence weaved between them and settled. Pressing against their minds until Jiyeong finally spoke. “I have nothing.”
“What?” Her voice was sad, broken, lost.
“You have to go back to your brother. You have to find your mom. You have to get out of here. I don’t.”
Saebyeok stared into Jiyeong’s eyes, her lips quivering.
“I thought about what I’d do. When we were talking about what we’d do if we got out. You have a reason to get back out.” She smiled as she thought about Saebyeok with her family again.
“That’s what’s right.”
A tear fell onto Saebyeok’s cheek. Jiyeong wanted to wipe it away, but she didn’t want her hands to leave Saebyeok’s shoulders. “You can do it.”
“Don’t die in here ok?” Her voice began to crack as she felt her eyes watering. “Go meet your mother. Get your brother too.”
She let out a weak laugh, “and go to jeju island.” Maybe if she went to Jeju she could think about Jiyeong, remember her, even if only for a moment.
Saebyeok stopped holding back her tears, as they flowed down her face. She couldn’t argue with that. Jiyeong was right. Saebyeok could still get out of here.
The guard stepped closer. “Players, you’re running out of time. Say your goodbyes and go.”
Saebyeok would’ve given the world to spend another second with Jiyeong. She wanted to go back to sitting on the stairs and talking. Maybe if she knew she would’ve opened up more. Maybe if she knew she would’ve… she would’ve…
Suddenly, soft lips against hers. She didn’t even think about pulling away, she leaned forward and pulled jiyeong closer. The kiss was soft, tender, loving. For a moment saebyeok almost forgot why she was crying. Almost.
She felt Jiyeong push her away, their lips disconnecting. “Go, get out of here.” Jiyeong’s voice was shaky. “I love you, Jiyeong.”
“I love you too.”
The pink guard who had been standing nearby grabbed Jiyeong by the shoulder and pulled her farther away from Saebyeok. Saebyeok was about to grab her back when another guards hand was placed on her shoulder.
Jiyeong gave her a sad smile, and she began to walk away.
“Kang Saebyeok!” Jiyeong called out.
She couldn’t let Saebyeok leave without a final goodbye.
Saebyeok couldn’t turn around, if she did she knew she wouldn’t be able to control herself. If she saw Jiyeong’s face… the gun to her head… she’d collapse to the ground, maybe even try and fight the guards. Anything to save Jiyeong.
So she didn’t turn around. But she stopped. Making sure Jiyeong knew she was listening.
“I’m honored…” her voice cracked as a hot tear fell down her cheek. She took a deep, shaky breath to keep more from falling. “That I was your partner.”
BANG
——————————————————————-
“Jiyeong! Jiyeong!”
She opened her eyes and found herself in a large bed, saebyeok shaking her gently. “What? Huh?”
“You’re having a nightmare again.”
“Where are we?” She sat up and rubbed her eyes. She seemed to be in a hotel room, when she looked over she saw a balcony with large glass doors, over looking an ocean. “What?”
“We’re in Jeju, just like you always wanted.”
Jiyeong smiled. Maybe it was all a dream. She got to her feet and stretched, saebyeok putting a hand on her waist and guiding her to the balcony. Salty sea air blew into her face, messing up her hair. There were two chairs and a table, with two mojitos.
“This is what you wanted, right?” Saebyeok was leaning against the railing, looking out at the waves crashing on shore.
“Yeah I just-“
“Unnie Jiyeong!” A little boy’s voice interrupted her. She looked over to see a young boy who looked just like Saebyeok. That must be Cheol. Weird, how does she not remember anything before this..?
“Unnie Jiyeong, can we go to the arcade?” He asked, looking up at her.
“Later Cheol. Let us have a moment.” Saebyeok’s voice was firm but loving as she sat on the chair and grabbed a mojito.
Jiyeong sat down too, grabbing a mojito.
“Jiyeong, I love-“
———————————————————————
She was lying on the ground, in a pool of warm liquid.
The pain in her head making it impossible to think.
She was finally dying.
The puddle she was lying in was her blood.
How could she not have known?
Her vision was getting blurry. She was running out of time. No one could survive a shot to the head.
Did Saebyeok already leave? She couldn’t have-
Through her blurred vision she saw someone in a green jumpsuit walking away, someone tall, with short dark hair.
Saebyeok.
She didn’t have much energy left. She reached out, as if Saebyeok would rush back and take her hand. Drag her out of here. Take her to Jeju.
BANG
Darkness.
Then nothing.

Once we’ve won
Chapter three
This chapter is very short but I wanted to get something out, u promise the next chapter will be a lot better and not just be filler stuff.
<—ch 2
————————————————————————
Saebyeok was awoken by the blinding lights being turned on. She wanted to pull her blanket over her head and go back to sleep, but she had things to do.
She needed to go back in the vent, to find out what the next game was. If she had the advantage of knowing what it was she could plan, and she could win.
She climbed up to Jiyeongs bunk, where the younger girl was taking her sweet time to get up. “Jiyeong. Come with me.”
Player 240 tilted her head, “what for?”
“Listen, I need you to cover for me. I can open the vents in the bathroom and see what the next game is. All you have to do is make sure the guards don’t catch me.”
Jiyeong stretched languidly, before meeting Saebyeok’s gaze again. “Sure, I’m in.”
The two girls walked into the bathroom, the guard standing outside the door.
“Alright…” Saebyeok led Jiyeong into one of the stalls. “I’m probably going to have to climb on your shoulders.”
Jiyeong looked at saebyeok, then at the vent. There was silence for a moment before Jiyeong gave her agreement. “That’s fine. But how do you plan on opening the vents?”
“With this.” Saebyeok grabbed her knife and flicked it open with a click.
Jiyeongs eyes widened and saebyeok noticed she stiffened slightly.
“Just sit down.”
Jiyeong sat down, watching carefully as saebyeok came closer. “This uhm, this is gonna be a bit uncomfortable, but I’ll be quick.”
She stepped onto Jiyeongs shoulders, trying her best not to cause any harm to the girl below her. Once she was steady (thanks to Jiyeongs hands holding her ankles in place) she wasted no time unscrewing the vent.
Once the screws were removed and the vent swung open she crawled inside.
“Be back soon saebyeok.”
“I’ll try.”
JIYEONG’S POV
She heard saebyeok crawling around in the vent, but the noise faded away as she got farther. She sat there, not knowing what to do.
How did Sae get a knife in here? They took everything I had.
As she was waiting her heard a knock on the door. Fuck. “Don’t come in!” She yelled, mentally urging Saebyeok to hurry up.
“You don’t have all day.” The guards voice was rough, leaving no room for argument.
Jiyeong climbed onto the toilet, she couldn’t reach quite reach the vent but she didn’t care. “Saebyeok!” She said in a quiet, rushed voice. “Hurry up!”
She heard a groan. “I’m trying!”
The sound of another knock made jiyeong jump. “I said hurry up! Don’t make me come in there!”
The sound of saebyeok squirming through the vents grew closer. “Jiyeong move, I don’t want to land on you. Go distract the guard!”
Jiyeong moved to the stall door. “Stay out!” She yelled to the guard. “I’ll kick your ass if you don’t!”
Saebyeok awkwardly got out of the vent, and began screwing it back on.
“I’m going to have to come in if you don’t come out right now”
Jiyeong shot Saebyeok a look that screamed ‘hurry the fuck up or we’re both dead’
Saebyeok finished the last screw and got off her the toilet just as the guard stormed in. He walked over to the stall and banged on the door. “OUT! NOW!”
The two girls exited, glaring as they walked past. They must have been an awkward sight, saebyeok sweaty with her hair tied up and jiyeong hurrying her along.
“I’d like to remind you being intimate is prohibited under any and all circumstances.”
Jiyeong looked at Saebyeok in amusement.
Saebyeok looked at Jiyeong with horror.
Thank you for reading! <3
