Adding on to the DEI conversation: many foolish people have misconceptions about it. What DEI does is ensure that business hire someone with the highest capability, regardless of skin color, gender, orientation, basically the brilliant rainbow of things that makes every human unique. For example, say a black woman and a white man apply for the same job, and the former is able to do the job better. A DEI program would ensure the woman gets hired and prevents discrimination based on her skin color. That's what it's supposed to do. Idiots who ring the "woke" bell often don't see that and think the woman would have been hired just because she's black, which isn't true at all. But they won't stop crying about it anyway because to people like that, the fact that human beings who are different from them exist is enough to send them into a tantrum that not even an infant would throw. TLDR: To say the POC characters in Castlevania Nocturne are just there for DEI is a ridiculous argument that shows ignorance of both how DEI works and the brilliance of how humanity contains multitudes.

i don’t remember the EXACT wording of the comment, but the gist of it was that the characters were just tossed in there so the show could be more inclusive

which again is actual bullshit if you ask me. cv1 was already pretty inclusive as is and c nocturne does a great job at handling the subjects it brings up
