It's about the people who are constantly using "aroace can still date/have sex" to erase the representation of aroaces that don't feel that way. I don't believe romance/sex repulsed aroaces are better or "superior" to those who are.

It is extremely hard to break away from what you’ve been taught, but you HAVE TO DO IT if you want your children to be better. Words mean absolutely shit all to kids.

They are watching EVERYTHING you do and say when you think you’re alone.

You have to be the model, not the speaker. And every action you take to change the mold WILL affect your child. And their changes will affect THEIR children.

Instead of “do as I say, not as I do”

Watch what you DO to match what you SAY.

I want you to read this again if you’re an educator and replace child with Student.

If it comes from parents who model the behavior they want to see, then this is good parenting.

The problem is that many parents don't model this behavior. Many parents are authoritarian and rule by fear. Many parents take advantage of the fact that they're bigger, they control the finances, their power is upheld by society, and their children are dependent on them. And they complain when their child starts treating people the exact same way.

This is what I meant way back when all the HP bs started up and I told people to not buy me any more gifts of HP merch or ask why I wasn’t wearing my favorite jacket anymore. Because the simple idea that someone might see that and feel uncomfortable to be around me made ME more uncomfortable than finding another jacket.

What you say and how you say it matters. And that INCLUDES visual statements. I don’t care if companies are just riding the trend, it made someone’s day to see they were appreciated and people like them are appreciated. And that means a lot to me.

people who don’t get it love to question the reasoning for putting pride flags in public spaces and things like that but today I had to return a shirt cause the fit made me feel super dysphoric & so I felt kinda shitty but then someone on the bus walked past me wearing a shirt which read ‘if you’re trans and youre reading this I love you.’ The bus then passed a skate park with a big advert for a graphic novel about a non-binary skater right on the main road. As I was going to meet a friend (one of my roommates of 3 years who I’ve known for 10 and has seen me through so many iterations and accepted me in all forms) I saw the trams in the city had been wrapped in rainbows for pride month. As we met we grabbed coffee and walked all around the city for one of the last times as we’re just finishing up our lease and starting new careers that may take us to very different cities and counties and he pointed out pride flags in the windows of apartment buildings and we talked about life, and the sun was shining, and every little thing this day had just made me feel so loved when I thought it was going to be the opposite.

I guess what I’m trying to say is never underestimate the power of being seen in the world.

I enjoy watching the relationship dissolve. But I agree it’s just performative to distract people from the reality of his own actions.

(I don't THINK it'll get forgotten but I really want to remind people that just because Musk is now bashing trump for all the shit we've known about him for awhile that we don't forget he was complicit. If anything his bashing and airing out trumps laundry makes it worse, because he KNEW all that and still worked with him.)
