Lost and found

This is a personal piece I’ve wanted to do for a really long time, that I’ve finally decided to do. It is based on a story I heard once from a close friend, who as an act of facing their fears, once spent some time alone in the wilderness. Away from their home, away from their family, away from everything. Ever since I first heard this story, I’ve always had this image in my head. Although I routinely enjoy trips through the forest at night, I am never far away from safety and comfort, I can’t imagine that true isolation. Despite no longer being around, I still think about this scene often.

A commission for Tinker, this one took quite some time! Willow's Notes: Wow, this one took a while! With this commission, I was told to take inspiration from a list of Tinker's likes, which I saw contained "arcade machines". I asked them if they would be cool with me doing something Pac-Man related, as it's my absolute favorite arcade game, to which they agreed! I wanted to recreate the machine's design to the best of my abilities. I ended up finding perfect references to work with from the website ClassicGaming. Rather than paste them on and adjust them for the perspective, I took the time to recreate them in my line work in order to maintain a visual consistency. Additionally, I also recreated a game of Pac-Man. The only graphic here I used simply by editing was that of the instruction / scoring panel. I decided to apply a binary effect to the game screen + two panels, I thought it looked cool! And I've been trying to use more pixelation in my work as of late. The pattern used for the background was made by me specifically for this image! I've placed the brushes used as a free download over at my Ko-fi! Additional Credits According to the book "Pac-Man: Birth of an Icon" the original artist for the cabinet art *might* have been Gordon Morrison References for the arcade cabinet art were sourced from: ClassicGaming The font used for the Pac-Man screen is Emulogic Tools used Paint Tool Sai 2 Wacom Bamboo Fun CTE-450
