I didn't thought I'd need to say this in the year of 2025, but Just because nonbinary people can be transmasc/transfem, doesn't mean all of us are, And erasing/ignoring nonbinary identities and expressions that very much denies/rejects a gender binary is still exorsexism and genderism. Just because asexuality/aromanticity are a spectrum, and with that there's aspec people that can have sex/be in relationships if they feel like it, doesn't mean all aspec people can/want to do any of that, and ignoring a whole group of sexrom averse/negative/repulsed aspecs while treating the possibility for sex/relationship with sex/rom-positive aspec people as a 'loophole' to still pursue that with them, is still very much ace/arophobic At the end of the day, if your progressiveness doesn't actually stray away that much from the status quo, if there's always a loophole, if there's always an argument to pull us back in (even if tangential) to the same violences that denies our existence, then it's not really actually that progressive, you just made extra steps to the same system that opresses us.

- So tired of people who are “aro/ace allies” until the moment it costs them something. “We need more representation! I’m here for the aro/ace community!” until you wanna ship Yelena x Kate or Bob x Yelena, then you’re totally chill coming up with excuses like “but mcu is different from the comics…!” and erasing one of the little pieces of aro/ace rep we actually have

- “Just because Yelena is aro/ace in the comics doesn’t mean she’s aro/ace in the MCU! These are different characters!!” If Yelena was gay in the comics and they had her be straight in the MCU, you would understand why erasing minority representation is bad.

- “Aro/aces can still date!” Awesome, true. So I better see those Yelena x character fics depicting what’s like being in a sexual relationship without being sexually attracted to your partner, to show how it feels to desire a romantic relationship when to you, that means something different to typical romance, you had better show Yelena being an aromantic asexual person in a relationship. Or was this just an excuse to write her in an allosexual, alloromantic relationship and then say you aren’t erasing her sexuality?

- “Why do you care so much? Just let it go!” I care so much because it’s 2025 and aro/ace people like myself are still being ignored and mistreated by our own community. Aro/ace people have even less representation than most branches of the queer community, and the blatant erasure of one of the very few pieces of representation we DO have helps no one.

it really frustrates me to think about how people are inevitably going to take Remmick’s one (1) singular statement about how much he resents the way the Irish were colonized and forcibly converted to Christianity and use it as fuel for “actually he had a point” and “he was right actually” and “he’s not really the villain here” posts, when the whole point is that Remmick is, through the vampiric hive mind he’s creating, forcibly assimilating people into yet another manipulative and parasitical system. he doesn't value the cultures of the people he assimilates—notice how all the vampires he turns dance to his culture's music using his culture's dances, and how he only uses the languages or knowledge other vampires have to offer when he needs to manipulate someone. Remmick is extremely transparent about the way he sees the people he turns as resources to exploit.

he’s perpetuating a cycle that he claims to hate and resent, and I think the movie is pretty damn clear about the fact that he doesn’t see anybody as valuable or useful to him except as prey and as pawns—otherwise he would just, you know, focus solely on people who actually consent to being turned. but he looked sad in that one scene and he’s an apparently attractive white cis man so people are gonna bend over backwards justifying all the harm he did.
