mmmmm not sure how to feel about suddenly realizing that i don't know if I like my main characters together romantically. hmm. but like. I've been treating them as a throuple for almost... 4 years now? so it's suddenly scary to realize that one of them just doesn;t... fit the dynamic anymore? like obviously they'll all stay friends, but... hrmngh. I dunno if I wanna change it but it just doesn't feel right anymore. except i don't know what to do lmfao.

a couple different drabbles i wrote last night when i couldn't sleep yippee imbued elemental weapons - most common on arrows, since a bow and arrow are the most common weapon not used via magic. Each imbued weapon has about a charge of 1-3 uses, and the imbedded energy must come from the user themselves if they want to make use of it later. Basically seen as a back up in case you run out of energy. While it was more common in ages long past, when fighting was more common, having an imbued weapon that isn’t an arrow is seen as a collector’s item or a novelty to keep as decoration. They are used however. Imbued daggers are popular among bodyguards, as they can be easily hidden and are easy to carry around.

Dwarves: lizard-like. Get a bit more energy in sunlight, and tend to be averse to the cold. Have longer tongues than the other two races

Humans: basically just your standard run of the mill humans, but they can be described as dog-like. Stereotypical for them to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. Do not have fangs like the other two races.

Elves: cat-like. Can purr and live much longer than the other two races. (aka nine lives representation?)

i dunno if I'll ever finish this specifically, but I wanted to make a scar 'map' for vyn. because. uh. he's an evil king and absolutely has gotten wrecked in a couple battles and you know, assassination attempts and whatnot

i got caelum's ref done too!! i've been trying to add more last names to characters too, so he got a new last name.

but I'm really happy with his new design! He's kinda based on farmers in general-- i have a cousin who helps repair dairy equipment just like our grandpa used to, and i based Caelum's body type on him and our grandpa. a bit of a stomach, but fit and strong <3

slaps the top of his head, this man can fit so much trauma in him

i've changed his story slightly over the last few months. one that I guess has become a bit more personal? Maybe? I dunno. but gods this man is so tragic. i was possessed and wrote something for him the other night.

anyways the buttons on his shirt were placed there lovingly by his little niece. <3 he's such a good uncle guys

Auralí Worldbuilding #3

wow okay this one ended up LONG. a lot of text and shit... but I'm finally happy with how it turned out <3

I didn't always have the idea for gods, but once I did, I've never been able to stop. Elara specifically was the first one I created, and she holds a special place in my heart. She's obviously changed since her first design, but these new redesigns are something that feels good rn, so I'll have to draw and color them at some point.

Matahari and Astraios are the ones that have changed the most-- Matahari actually had a different name for a long time lol, but @/missazura was kind enough to offer me a name when I asked if she had any in her language meaning sun/light. Matahari means 'eye of day', and I've been hooked on the name since. Thanks Azura! I was thinking about changing Astraios' name, but I'm just a little too attached to the name at this point lol.

Malos on the other hand... it's not... new? But it's not old either. It's something that just kinda came into being to explain the villain's powers. The way to best describe it is like... Galactus from Marvel? A world eater who ripped through universes abandoned by their gods, only to come upon a brand new world and the three gods who were willing to die to protect it, and it was outmatched by their sheer determination.

As for the prophets, I'll be talking about them more in the next worldbuilding post when I get around to it <3 These three are actually the first prophets, and the only ones specifically chosen by the gods! I'll put it into the next post but prophets are entirely random. Once the old one dies, a new one is born within the next week or so.

if anyone needs any transcript, I'd be happy to write it out! I know it's a lot of text lmao

i think i need/want to change the color representing the star god/prophets.... i was going for like. an oxidized copper type of color to go with the 'gold' and 'silver' of the sun and moon gods. but like. i just can't in good conscious make astraios a blue eyed black man LMFAO. i know he's a god but STILL. i'm thinking going back to purple or perhaps an emerald... im not sure.

maybe i'm just being paranoid. my brain does suck around this time of month lmfao

been working on updating stuff for artfight this year... I still need to figure out what I wanna do with my worldbuilding since I'm going back and forth on whether it's gonna be more modern or whatever it is right now lmfao

anyways my birthday is tomorrow and i've been so. uh. gay. for vyn. so most of my brainpower has been focused on him and getting commissions of him lmfao

my brain was going crazy last night and now I'm wondering if it would just be easier to make it modern fantasy??? so I don't have to worry about like. figuring stuff out as much?

maybe I'm just paranoid of people being critical of where the world is technology wise?

Like, I guess the lumenae kingdom could be a little less developed than the tenebrae kingdom, mostly because they would have less resources and would basically be at the tenebrae kingdom's mercy really... that way it's more of a shock to Aylen when he's suddenly teleported to the tenebrae kingdom and it's much more 'modern' than where he grew up...

but also I just made that worldbuilding post about where the world was. im gonna have to retcon that already!!! fuck!

i finished Aylen's new ref!! Shout out to @missazura for helping me with my skin color palette crisis lmfao

I also have made it official that Aylen is intersex! Officially, he has Complete Gonadal Dysgenesis (as described in this pdf of intersex variations). It really feels like he came to me and told me he was this himself, it's honestly kinda wild, but it feels right!

I don't think him being intersex will ever be a huge part of the story, but I wanted to make it official here so I know and can refer to him as such, if that makes sense. I'll have to look more into writing intersex characters in a more fantasy-esque situation, but so far I've tried to write that Auralí is more modern when it comes to things like this and other LGBTQ situations, if that makes sense.

Eventually I wanna write down other fun facts and such on my refs, but I think I'd like to save those for the profiles on toy.house. That way I've got a nice official place for all the little nuances I don't wanna forget.

trying to come up with a new skin tone for Aylen... middle is his current and I want him to have more melanin gods damnit!!!

maybe it's just cause it's 4:30 am but I cannot decide... and I colored in his hair and a similar blue to his normal sweatshirt to see how it looks with everything... I think I like the bottom left and right best at the moment?
