im gonna toss out a prediction abt what a ch5 trailer might look like 😈 (also sorry for not posting for a month)

ok so for the ch4 yarnaby trailer we got a direct continuation of where we left off in ch3. i have a feeling we won't be getting anything like that for ch5, at least not initially. i anticipate the opening scene of ch5 to be either

the red smoke we see at the end successfully knocks us out. we wake up in a new location (having been taken there by someone else) and the game begins there instead of where ch4 ended

we have to escape the room we were in at the end of ch4 before the red smoke takes effect. maybe once we get the door open, huggy breaks down the entrance which starts a chase (it'll be funny if he falls down a pit at the end of the chase)

the one where we get taken could work for a teaser, but i've got something different in mind that could be pretty cool for a trailer

rq IM GONNA LAY OUT SOME ASSUMPTIONS. i'm not sure if ch5 is the last, i've always assumed it would be. i don't know how and why there would be a need for ch6. i'm also assuming that the prototype will be the main villain of this chapter and at one point or another will have his design revealed

OK SO FOR MY PITCH..

before prototype blew us up poppy ran off. that tunnel/vent thing she ran into probably leads back to the prison and prototype is going to find her before he starts looking for us, which leads me to my idea... how awesome sauce would it be if we get a cinematic trailer of the encounter she has with him? i have no doubt he's going to catch her eventually, so it'd be really cool to actually SEE it. they wouldn't have to reveal his full design, maybe just his eyes or a tiny portion of his face in the dark (that'd be fucking terrifying 😭 wtf). keep in mind this would be posted after the arg, which honestly might reveal partially what he looks like

ALSO RELATED TO HOW HIS DESIGN SHOULD BE REVEALED... i think he should be revealed in a cinematic trailer, NOT the game NOR a gameplay trailer. ofc u could show him in both of those things, but i think the initial reveal should be given its own trailer

the reason for this is because there's no good way to show off the model in-game. there's a lot of things that could go wrong. if it isn't a cutscene with a forced camera perspective the player might not even be looking. their graphics could be on low which would dampen the reveal as well. if it's a chase or a boss fight we wouldn't have any time to get a good look at him either.

a gameplay trailer would obviously force you to look at him but i don't think it'd do him enough justice. considering how important he is, you probably want the reveal to be the main focus and everything leading up to it would cater to that. there'd need to be proper build up which is why a cinematic trailer just sort of works better in this instance

ik it would kind of "spoil" it, but i don't see any benefit to having that reveal in-game. ofc, even if you did a full reveal in a trailer, that doesn't mean we have to see him in the light. this works better bc you get to be VERY specific about what you do and don't show. the lighting, sound design, camera work; all of it gets to be fine tuned

anywho its hard to see the text on the walls with the shadows, so here's the drawing without those layers

ch4 spoilers and a bit of a rant below!!

okay yall i wanna make a pitch.. so i personally thought ch4 was really good but i see some ppl say it wasnt scary and i think i know why. there wasn't a focal villain following u which is part of it, but in this chapter we also had a lot of allies. i think ch5 is guaranteed to be scarier cuz it's basically just us and the prototype (as of what we know rn). ollie was prototype, poppy is probably kidnapped LMAAO and kissy is super injured, so we have to fend for ourselves

anyways onto my pitch. i think if ch4 was to be scarier there'd need to be a stronger emphasis on harley throughout the whole chapter and (here it comes) no safe haven.. HEAR ME OUT.

safe haven would still exist, it's just that we would have found it already destroyed. this would mean we meet doey after we find it and ollie would be the main one helping us thru puzzles as he did in ch3. maybe leading up to us finding safe haven, he keeps talking about how great it is and how we need to get there, but once we do, we find that everyone has been massacred.

this would make the "it was me the whole time muahaha" reveal darker at the end of the game, because (in this ver of ch4) prototype would've been pretending as if he hadn't personally gone in there and brutally murdered a bunch of innocents. bro was acting like he had no idea it was destroyed 😭

it would also make doey a bit more unhinged because we would be finding him after he's lost everyone. he'd be an ally, but scarier bc he seems like he might turn on us at any moment.

also in this ver of ch4 doey wouldn't be the final battle, harley would. i have an entire revamp of ch4 actually.. it's just sitting in my docs. it goes into more detail on how other stuff would be changed but i didn't post it cuz i didn't want to seem like i dont like the game 😢 idk if i should post it, it's like 3.6k words long

oh also heres the sketch of this drawing. im kinda bummed out that the back legs were lost in translation when i did the lineart 😭 hard to tell which ones the left one

art i made a bit ago of my prototype fan design, particularly the face. i wanted to practice his eyes and mouth!! i've shown my fb design of him before but i think i'm going to redraw it soon

i dont assume he'll look anything like this but i like giving him saber teeth 🥺

if you're curious about what i base him off of, these are the references i use when i draw him. he was only initially inspired by tigers, but i went in later and added the bearded vultures, owls, and crow. he's not really owl-like but he has the hairline type thing going on and i like to imagine him turning his head at unnatural angles 😭

also i keep trying to draw his full body and dayumn that shit is tough 😭😭😭 i keep thinking that i can draw his poses based off of a 4 legged animal when i, in fact, can not do that..

MOMMY LONGLEGS AS PAPYRUS!

so mommy and papyrus have similar builds, they also have gloves and big shoes.. they both put the player thru puzzles/games (the text next to her is actual papyrus dialogue) and i think their personalities just kinda match up, esp if catnap is sans. mommy def sees him as lazy 😭 should i draw dr gaster next? i feel like yall already know who i'll turn that into LOL

doodle of catnap as sans 🤯 made this as a joke but i wanted to post it anyways. doey would probably fit better but the character i made papyrus makes more sense if sans is catnap (ill post that tomorrow.. tiny hint for who that is can be found in the way i changed the dialogue hehehehe)

i also think it's funny that in both games you play as a human who enters the underground to fight and befriend monsters.. maybe i should draw the ppt player dressed up as frisk 😭

okay I'm gonna talk abt more chapter 4 stuff.. this time about prototype's previous identity.. ch4 spoilers and also a theory below..

people theorized 1006 was elliot, which was recently disproven in the chapter 4 tape where poppy refers to elliot as her dad and wishes he were there. in the same tape she addresses prototype as a completely different person. also recall that elliot died in the 90s, meanwhile prototype met theo in 1989. so yeah, they aren't the same person

I've also seen people say rich is prototype, which cannot be true either. in a ch4 tape he speaks to one of the employees under his supervision. the kid mentions his coworkers joking about him going missing. before the bbi, it would not make sense for this to be a common rumor at the company, which means this tape had to happen after harley was hired in 1990; at a time when the company would have a reason to silence people

prototype existed in 1989 at the minimum, but considering he says "it's always been about you and me" to poppy, he's likely the prototype of HER. she's elliots daughter, she died in the 60s, meaning prototype was probably created around that time as well.

this means that rich can't be the prototype because he was human long after prototype was made

if you want my take on who prototype truly is, i'd say his identity doesn't necessarily matter. i don't mean to say his origins aren't important, just that his name and specific role in the past probably doesn't mean anything in the long run. i've never believed he was elliot or rich, and maybe in the future i'll be proven wrong but for now i'll tell you the theory i've had since june of last year

elliot's daughter dies in the 60s. he divorced his wife in 1930, so his daughter is probably in her 30s when she dies. she gets sick or injured, maybe she's actively dying or already dead by the time elliot begins his research. he looks for ways to bring her back, but it doesn't work on the rats (as he mentioned a note in the 2nd chapter)

so what does he do? he tries it on something bigger as he said he would: a human. of course he's not going to try this experimental method on his own daughter, even if she's already dead, so he finds someone else to use it on. we know that elliot wasn't evil or anything, so it's unlikely he killed anybody to use for the experiment. considering the orphanage isn't open yet (it opened in the 70s, not the 60s), prototype probably wasn't an orphan child either. if i run with my simple version of the theory, elliot may have dug up a body in a graveyard and used that. maybe a fresh one, who knows. he tried it, it worked, then he revived his daughter with the same method.

this is likely what harley wanted to know about in the chapter 3 tape (the "i learn something new about you every day" one), and also what prototype is asking harley to figure out in the ch4 tape they're both in. in that case, sawyer never actually figured out how to revive people with the poppy substance. sure, he can transfer people into the toys, but he can't bring anybody back to life

more reason to believe prototype and poppy are of the same "batch" is because it seems they are the only two who don't need food. it's outright stated about him in the ch1 trailer, and insinuated with her saying the "toys will starve otherwise" when she's talking about how nasty them eating humans is. she refers to them, not herself. her and prototype are probably the only 2 who were ever brought back from the dead, which circles back around to his monologue and gives meaning to the "it's always been about you and me, poppy. what we are". when i heard him say that i felt like my theory was lowk confirmed 😭😭

no guarantee this is right, but it's been my guess for a long time

im gonna talk about chapter 4 under here so only click if ur ok with spoilers! also its a huge yapfest. like HUUGE. i just want to voice my opinions about prototype because i've seen ppl sort of miss the point of what happened at the end of the chapter

I LOVED CHAPTER 4! IT WAS SO COOL!! i was sooo worried but im glad it turned out good. rip pianosaurus tho..

tldr (for the bunch of paragraphs where I talk abt prototype)

prototype being ollie is deranged because it means he was terrorizing the toys of safe haven on purpose for the fun of it when he could have killed them at any time. he also created an extremely close emotional bond with poppy for OVER A DECADE just to tear it all away from her at the end and tell her it was meaningless (he then proceeds to taunt her over the phone abt it). bro is LITERALLY TROLLING

you cant tell me that final scene w the "ive got something special in mind. i prepared it just for you, and this time you'll never want to leave." isnt some tom and jerry shit

ABT PROTOTYPE REVEALING HIMSELF AS OLLIE... (the long explanation)

we ALL knew he was ollie, but i don't think people are seeing the point of this reveal. it wasn't about revealing himself to us the player, it's about the implications that arise from it. he had been playing both sides for 10+ YEARS. that's deranged enough but not even CLOSE to the end of it

as ollie he had emotionally supported poppy in her lowest moments (as heard in the ollie and poppy tape). this tape also insinuates that (at least around the time it was recorded) the two of them called frequently, possibly every night. he wasn't just pretending to be everyone's ally, he was PRETENDING TO BE THEIR CLOSEST FRIEND THAT THEY COULD VENT TO 😭 he heard this poor girl sob into the phone and tell him about how she felt her humanity being taken from her, AND HE KEPT UP THE CHARADE AND COMFORTED HER, KNOWING THIS PATH HAD BAD INTENTIONS

what's worse than all of that, though, is that him being ollie means that at any time in the last 10 years he could have used the persona to force his way into safe haven. AT ANY TIME HE COULD HAVE KILLED THEM ALL. HE COULD SIMPLY USE THE OLLIE VOICE AND ASK THEM TO OPEN THE DOOR. why is this worse, you ask? because HE WAS LITERALLY TERRORIZING THEM ON PURPOSE.

think about the note in the cart/cave area. a toy from safe haven writes that prototype was right outside the door the night before, he'd gotten past the traps and was just tapping on the wall and staring. they said after he was gone they still felt they could hear it. HE IS LITERALLY BEING SCARY ON PURPOSE???? LEGIT TRAUMATIZING THEM AND FOR NO REASON. HE COULD GET IN THERE, HE'S SIMPLY CHOOSING TO MAKE THEIR LIVES HELL

so thats crazy.. BUT ALSO THE ENDING? in the poppy and ollie tape he says "im right here, poppy. for you. i'll always be here." AND AT THE END OF THE GAME, WHEN POPPY ASKS WHAT HE DID WITH OLLIE, HE SAYS THAT. you know what that means? that means he said that shit to her ALL THE TIME. clearly only the two of them would be familiar with the phrase which is why after he said it, she immediately knew he was ollie the whole time

i feel bad for poppy. she ran off but she was valid for that. all her friends from safe haven are dead, the only ones left are the player, kissy and ollie, but she soon realizes that ollie is WORSE than dead. he is LITERALLY HER ENEMY. the thousands of conversations they had, probably hundreds of times she vented and told him her plans and discussed her life with him? ALL FOR NOTHING. any time she thought she was winning the past 10 years was a lie, she was ALWAYS LOSING because he was GETTING ALL THE INFO FROM THEM. she genuinely never had a chance and i think she realized that

in her dialogue you can tell she's grieving ollie (obviously he IS prototype, but i think she's grieving the thought of him). saying "you lied to me" to the prototype of all people is absurd (considering he's done far worse than lie) but when you think about how she feels, it makes sense.

also the part where she said "this isn't right". again, a weird thing to say to him of all people, but if you put yourself in her shoes she's grieving the friend she thought she had, and she's struggling to grapple with the fact that it all meant nothing. somewhere in her mind she believes "ollie" as a personality is there somewhere, because how could someone be that close with you and mean none of it? she thinks that voicing this pain he's inflicted will change his mind, but it won't. and that's why it's genuinely really sad. that's why she asks if there was ever an ollie. i don't think she meant it literally, and i don't think his answer was literal either. she didn't mean "were you a mf named ollie once" she meant it like "was our friendship ever genuine?" which makes his response both heartbreaking and interesting.

so not only is her world shattered now, most of her friends are dead and the one who wasn't turned out to be her opp, but now he's TAUNTING HER OVER THE PHONE AND THREATENING HER. nice one... (loved the quip after she ran off btw. that shit was hilarious. like bro u made her crash out and went "some friend, huh?" YOU CANT SAY THAT BRO)

anyway think of it from her perspective: everyone you knew is gone, and soon the only 2 people that remain will be too. you can't run, or hide, or do anything. he WILL find you, and when he does he'll lock you away FOREVER where NOBODY WILL BE LEFT TO SAVE YOU. I WOULD RUN TOO.............. plus her running off probably led him away so.. she saved us sorta.

ALL THAT TO SAY THAT I REALLY LIKE THE OLLIE REVEAL FOR REASONS FAR BEYOND A SIMPLE TWIST. him being ollie for over a decade raises many many questions, and suggests very dark things.

hes crazy and the fact he did a monologue means he knows he won. he wouldn't have spilled the beans otherwise...

MY PROTOTYPE FAN DESIGN!!

chapter 4 is coming out tomorrow so i thought i'd share these now!! theyre kind of old atp but the boiled freak ones represent my newer human torso design for him. the body isn't exactly accurate to the shrine in terms of proportions, but i tried to get the general pieces similar (accounting for the fact catnap's shrine isn't necessarily that close either)

extra stuff... the human part of him is inspired by tigers!! specifically for the teeth and eyes, though more recently i've changed the eye sockets to be bigger. idk why but i associate him with tigers/lions a lot, especially their expressions. hes a little boiled.. and skinned.. but thats alr we accept him anyways LOL

it may be hard to imagine but ill tell u it's actually quite possible to make this design of him cutesy. IM NOT JOKING. ive drawn it a few times and he looks like such a friendly fella when hes not grinning evilly. i might post some of those drawings later idk.. also when he sits it looks really funny

SEMI RELATED -- SINCE THE GAME COMES OUT TOMORROW I WANT TO MAKE A PREDICTION THAT US GETTING CATNAP KILLED PISSED THE PROTOTYPE OFF REAL BAD SO NOW SAWYER HAS TO WORK OVERTIME TO KILL US BUT BC HE SUCKS AT HIS JOB PROTOTYPE KILLS HIM NEAR THE END OF THE CHAPTER 😭😭 prototype is learning the hard way that if u want a job done right u should just do it urself

ALSO FOLLOW UP ON PREVIOUS POST.. i want to properly explain my viewpoint abt 1006. prototype saving theo after he was electrocuted had no personal benefits at the time, the bigger bodies initiative did not exist yet. we know this because harley sawyer was not hired until 1990, while prototype and theo tried to escape in 1989 (which also means the prototype wasn't created by harley sawyer). prototype couldn't have known theo would be of use to him later. we also know theodore/catnap wouldn't have viewed him as a god yet, because the incident had not yet happened. so saving him instead of escaping out of an open door was an act done out of self sacrifice on proto's part!! which is why i believe prototype genuinely cares/cared about the experiments, or at the very least theo. he saved him expecting nothing in return i just feel like him having real motives for his later actions aside from "im evil i do evil stuff" would be a far more nuanced and interesting character 😔i hope the game follows through on that and doesnt just say hes evil with no motive other than to be evil

LIKE WHY IS HE WORKING WITH HARLEY?? THATS THE MAN THAT TURNED UR FAVORITE ORPHAN INTO A GIANT CAT. KILL THAT TV!! KILL IT NOW!!!!

IVE SPENT 12 MONTHS BEING LIKE "prototype clearly cares abt these poor orphans!! he must be mourning catnap since they knew each other for a long time and were probably really close" BUT IM STARTING TO WORRY THAT HE WOULD WILLINGLY STEAL CANDY FROM A BABY. i dont draw 1006 like this anymore!! this ones more sad ig.. basically the idea that killing catnap in ch3 was setting his spirit free in a way, but theodore doesn't want to leave prototype behind. when they tried to escape in 89 prototype didn't leave theo behind, so why would theo leave prototype behind now? idk if that made sense. basically like his spirit wants to stick around until prototype can be at rest too.. if thats possible.. LOL
