Imhotep is even cooler than that! He is accredited to building the worlds first ever pyramid! The Djoser step pyramid located at Saqquara!
He was also a High Priest and Vizier to the Pharaoh, which means he was the second most important man in Ancient Egypt at the time (3rd Dynasty Ancient Kemet).
Imhotep was also deified by the Greeks and he became the known as the son of Ptah (God of Craftsman/ Architect of the Universe, etc.) and he was dubbed as the God of Medicine and Healing. So in addition to being one of the worlds first polymaths, he was just an all around very cool dude and now he’s a God!
my internal monologue when Ancient Egypt is mentioned: [don't talk about imhotep and the first codified diagnostic manual. the fact you know so much about it is deeply weird and nobody cares about medicine that much]

Pomegranate Wine Chapter 13
Prophecy of Decay
“Never forget, the words are not the reality, only reality is reality; picture symbols are the idea, words are confusion.” ―  Muata Ashby, The Egyptian Book of the Dead
Seti stared at the girls dancing around him, feeling himself growing aroused. Most days, they were little more than decorations around the palace. But today, they seemed especially appealing. Seti watched, lascivious, as the girls twisted and twirled, their bellies on show. Their hips shimmied and swayed, calling out to him to breed them. Thinking back to his last conquest with the dancer, Seti thought better of it. He turned to Imhotep and stopped short.
Imhotep's eyes were on one dancer in particular. She was a small, lithe girl with long flowing locks that reached her waist. As Seti roved his eyes over her, he recognized her from her first day at the palace. A farm girl from a riverside town, if he remembered correctly. Her perky breasts and large bottom called out to him. Seti felt himself swell with desire, and he tore his gaze away.
"You approve of our dancers?" He asked Imhotep. Why was he looking at her?
Blinking, Imhotep tore his eyes away, "Yes, my Lord, they are satisfactory, I suppose."
Seti chuckled, "They seem to be more than satisfactory to me," he said, taking a deep inhale. The air smelled of heavy incense, and soon the musicians in the corner of the room came to the end of their song. Seti stood up, calling out, "Bravo, bravo!"
The dancers stopped and looked at him with big eyes, but Seti paid no attention. He had his sights set on one dancer in particular. All eyes on him as he parted the sea of breasts, he stopped in front of the tiny dancer, "My dear," he said, "You are ravishing. What is your name?"
The girl stared at him with dark, hard eyes, and she answered in a curt manner, "Ancksunamun." She replied with a stiff bow. Seti followed the line of her body and glimpsed beneath her dress. Sucking in a deep breath, he found it almost hard to speak as all the blood in his body rushed between his legs.
“Anck Sun Amun," Seti said, grinning at her in a boyish manner, missing her look of derision.
Bowing again, Ancksunamun replied, "Yes, Pharaoh Seti. At your service."
Seti felt himself throb harder at her obvious twist of words. "Anck Sun Amun, I want you to join me tonight for a banquet."
Her eyes widened, "Pharaoh Seti, thank you for your kind offer, but I will have to decline politely." Bowing again, she bent down to fix her sandals.
"Oh, feisty, are we?" Seti quipped. He liked her fiery attitude. Rudeness in women usually infuriated him, but not today.
Without looking up, she replied, "No, Pharaoh Seti, that is not my intention."
Turning to Imhotep, Seti spoke, ignoring her. "Imhotep! You are in charge of bringing our lovely dancer to the banquet hall tonight. I will not take no for an answer." Seti said, his eyes growing hard as he turned back to the girl.
The girl looked up and made eye contact with Imhotep before looking back to Seti. Her mouth opened and closed, and at last, she said, "Yes, Pharaoh Seti… I will accept your offer. Thank you." She stood up and bowed again.
Why does she look at Imhotep like that? He wondered, peering at both of them. Deciding it was nothing, he grinned in excitement.
"Great answer!" Seti said, beaming from ear to ear. Clasping his hands together, he turned to Imhotep and led him back to sit down. His legs were burning with the exertion of standing so long.
Panting, he sat down on his throne. Still smiling, he thought of all the wicked things he wanted to do with the dancer with the dark eyes. He wished the day could go by even faster.

Pomegranate Wine Chapter Twelve
Eyes of Gold
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this story from The Mummy (1999) except for my OCs.
My beloved stirs my heart with his voice, He causes illness to seize me . . . My mother is right in commanding me: "Avoid seeing him.” But, my heart is smitten by his memory, My love for him has seized me. Look, he is a fool
But I am just like him. He does not know my desire to embrace him, He does (not) send word to my mother. Oh, my beloved! I am destined for you, By the Golden (Goddess) of Women. - Papyrus Chester Beatty I , Chester Beatty Library. ____________________________
Imhotep watched her figure retreat. "Ancksunamun…" he whispered under his breath as the last tendrils of her aura disappeared through the garden gate. Emptiness filled his being as her intoxicating scent of jasmine and myrrh blew away on the breeze, leaving nothing behind but a whisper of her presence. A profound loneliness filled the space in his heart where it had been beating out of his chest minutes before, aching to be near her.
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he relived their short time together. A strong feeling of electricity had vibrated in the air between them, and it had taken all of his strength then and there not to pull her into his arms and hold her. His head was a jumbled mess of questions, and his heart and head were battling it out. How could he resist her now when he had been so close? His fingers had longed to reach out and touch her stunning golden face, feeling her full lips on his.
She had made a peculiar gesture in the air in front of him, and it had felt as if she was speaking to his soul in a language only they knew. It had felt indescribably erotic in its simplicity. Her curvacious body had been mere inches from his, radiating pure carnal energy. Soft and grabbable, he had been unable to tear his eyes away. He had wanted to kiss every inch of her delicate neck, down to her perky breasts, and between her supple dancer's thighs. Groaning in his remembrance, Imhotep felt himself stir, and he resisted its temptations, falling back into his daydream.
Looking into her dark eyes, he had felt as if he had seen a mirror image of himself. Beauty and passion had swirled in her eyes, but below it lay something darker, something potent and mysterious. That part of her had called out to him, making him feel as if he was genuinely seen for the first time. Inky darkness had simmered in the obsidian depths, resembling his own buried feelings of wickedness, which he so desperately tried to contain.
Imhotep shook his head, turned away from the garden wall, and looked toward the Nile. It flowed quickly this morning, as it had rained the night prior, signifying the beginning of the flood season. A time of fertility, newness, and growth. Sighing, Imhotep sat on a rock near the shore's edge, his heart feeling raw and jagged as he fought his own demons. He knew that with the way he was feeling, there was no way he'd be able to keep himself from her. But another part of him knew that he did not deserve her. Looking now to the heavens, he turned his face to the sun, feeling its brilliance warm his face. Internally he wept. She was a Goddess, exquisite and untouchable. He was a despicable man who carried out the Pharaoh's evil deeds like a coward, never thinking for himself.
Turning away from the flowing river, Imhotep felt an indescribable sadness take hold of him. No, he did not deserve someone like her, and he never would.

I did this about landing in an AU where the Beatles were filming A Hard Days Night and it ended up becoming super popular overnight! It made me realize how much I loved writing and it’s just made teenage me soooo happy to be able to put my maladaptive daydreams out onto paper and for others to read. Go for it!!!
Teen girls reading this, if you feel a calling to write fanfiction about a teen girl being transported to a fictional world, go for it. If you want to write about a teen girl being adopted by your favorite characters or joining the fellowship of the ring or becoming a knight, please do.
We should be encouraging kids to be creative and practice writing, an important life skill, not discouraging it because we find teens acting like teens to be cringe.
