Jumper: Xbox Edition to release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S before the end of 2024
Jumper will release on the Xbox One and Series X|S line of consoles before the end of the year, using the Unity Engine.
This initially began as a research task, seeing how to port to UWP and how to release titles under it. It seemed like a good idea to try and port a game I initially made for the Atari over to the consoles with added benefits, due to its simplicity.
The benefits range multiple mediums, from technical to gameplay to content. Here is a list of new items to expect at the current moment, with the possibility of more being added in the future:
New Levels exclusive to the Xbox release
HD 1080p Gameplay at 60fps and in Widescreen
Gamepad support, which is a given because of the fact it's on Xbox now
Slightly altered enemy, so it isn't directly on top or under you, fire rates altered
Ability to receive content updates and DLC such as unique levels and possible new feature sets
New features and content will be added if deemed possible. The current state of development is at a point where it is playable, but needs more polishing and the Xbox levels. There's also the desire to add more content, but those will be added when key issues are resolved.
Jumper: Xbox Edition will release before Christmas 2024, the original will be renamed 'PC EDITION' and will remain playable and ownable forever.

Yeah, I’m dumping it and moving on
I just want to talk about Steamboat Ops, at like 1am.
Truth being it hasn’t been worked on in months, and I’ve mostly moved on to other projects. I don’t really feel interested in doing another generic point and click with a dead trend. I wanna work on stuff I want to do, rather than be trapped by the thought of NEEDING to get it done.
Hence me making Jumper for the Atari 2600, I want to make stuff I’m passionate in and bring them up to snuff. Rather than make a game I’m not passionate about and having it be half assed.
Does this mean it’s cancelled? Without going nerd like or some shit, yes. I’m dumping it and moving on. But I might revisit the concept some day or revive it.
I’ll have some info about other things in the future, here’s to bigger and better ventures.

Hello peoples, thanks for stopping by to see this game. I’m glad to have created this game and prepare it for a release this week or next week. The game is complete and ready to go, however I’d like to add some goodies for people to use when this game launches, in the image you see below, there is a graphic about what will be available when the game goes live
The contents in this package are available to view above
The following is included:
- The ROM itself
- An instruction manual for the game and how to use its features
- An A4 poster of the game’s cover art
- A cut out for the game box, in case you can make your own box and use it on authentic hardware.
It is important to note that if you are making a box for this game, you must request permission to sell the copies. If permission is not granted, you must cease production relating to this game immediately. It is important to know that even if the ROM is free to download, it is still a game made by me. More disclaimers are on the graphic provided above.
The game is slated to launch within this week or sometime next week, another trailer will be released when the game is available to play. Thank you for supporting the game and I’m hyped to drop this ASAP.

JUMPER is an Atari 2600 game that will be releasing in a few weeks.
This Atari 2600 game contains 3 levels and 2 difficulties and is the first game of mine using bAtari Basic to have Audio, though the Audio is primitive it’s still my first time using it.
The project will be released for the Atari 2600 via Emulation, Physical Cartridges are not planned at this moment in time, due to a lack of spare money for them. Though if you’re not hacking the game, you are free to make your own physical copy, cartridge images and ROM files will be free to obtain.

I hit a point of total burn out, so this page will go largely quiet for a while. Full info here, but a TL;DR:
Worked too hard, isolated myself from others and I need to focus on myself, friends and hobbies for now.
I’m just gonna let people know that I’m going on a hiatus from @steamboatops and I’m going to work on other projects for a little while. I’d rather not do this but good god I burned myself out on the project to the point I really don’t want to do it right now, I’d like to focus on me right now. Me, my friends, my family, my education and my hobbies.
I’m going to focus on animation, storywriting and making my own characters and art, rather than focus on a already planned story. I’d like to see where my ideas can take me for now.
This project has taken so much of my energy and put more stress on me than I need right now, I’m glad break is coming up, I need some me and friend time right now. Because I think I worked too hard, to the point I generally just isolated myself and forced myself to get it working. Oh well, I’m not working on it right now and I’m free to do my own thing for a while.
Sorry y’all, I do intend on coming back to it when I feel like I’m ready to return though. Because I feel like the project SHOULD be finished, it’s something I poured a lot of time into with artwork, structure and the general gameplay loop and I’d like to not see that go to waste.
For now, I might go quiet or repost to oblivion, idk what right now as I need to start caring for myself better.

I have taken a look at the poll, even if there’s 5 days before it is meant to close, I believe it’s set to be a resounding yes.
So the project is going to be reset and built off Godot, it does mean that the project is going to go dark again for a little while so the essentials are reimplemented. It sucks but it should work better and it does cement the fact that this project will release on the Xbox One (and by extension the Xbox Series X|S).
Hopefully I will be back soon to release an update soon enough.

Important Decision, going to vote
Heya people, today I have something incredibly important that I would like to aim at the people interested in playing this game. It does mean sacrificing something or other.
The Question is: Do I move everything from this project over to Godot 3.5 (And by extension UWP)?
If the answer is yes, it does mean that everything will be restarted from the ground up, however this adds Xbox to the release roster, as well as Windows Store.
If the answer is no, it means nothing really changes in terms of the cycle, the only thing is the Xbox and Windows Store ports will be cancelled, as GDevelop 5 doesn't have UWP, lacking anything to port it to consoles.
I'll be throwing this question to everyone who wants to play, rather than making an unpopular decision. Granted using GDevelop wasn't the 10/10 decision I assumed it to be.
Do note that if the Xbox Port gets scrapped, Oswald will probably make an (non-monetised) appearance on the console anyway, though in other ways.

Steamboat Ops Dev Update
Heya peeps, I'm back, sick too, Easter was today. That's not important tho.
What is important is the update I have today, it is a cool one but brings some small changes that might have people mixed.
First I'll point out the things people will be mixed on, just so it's out of the way and whatnot. The Game's logo will be changed and the Icon will be removed, due to a reason that I'll discuss later. I don't wanna remove any of it or change it, but I don't want to get in trouble for anything or take any risks. The new logo is below:
Second of all I am not entirely sure about 2024 now, I might not hit the date, so I won't have a date at all for the game, I'm sure something will hit in 2024 but time will tell.
The cool thing is that the game has a chance of having an Xbox presence rather than an exclusive to PC release. Though this is not entirely locked in, it's something that I'd like to detail. If anything the Xbox version may not release until after PC has its release, I'll keep people posted on if anything here materializes.
I will confirm however another title I have created will see an official Xbox release at some point. I'll keep people in the loop with that game's progress on @prowoodstuff, it might take over for a while but I will keep working on Oswald's Hot Dogs whenever possible.

Updates are to be slow again, tiredness, burnout and fatigue. I’m also kinda making this project and going through the busiest time in my schooling. It was kinda a bad idea working on the project during this busy time, however I’m gonna make it work. Though it means going quiet more often than not.
I also wanna say thanks to the fanfare for my project, it wasn’t much but it still made me smile. I even read that someone might wanna help, though I’m extremely grateful, I’m probably going to keep the assets in until it comes to finalising things. As this is still in a prototyping phase, while in the final parts of prototyping. I still am appreciative of the kindness :D
I hope to share the bare essentials of the game very soon, I’ll probably share watermarked drawings of the environments seen in the game over the weekend, as they are all done now. Work is all over the place and that’s kinda on me and how I personally work.
I’m hoping everyone has a great Easter long weekend here in Australia and across the world (if it applies to you), I’ll be back feeling sick on Monday Night.

Oh boy oh boy, new information!
Over the last month or so, I’ve shifted away from the focus on Steamboat Willie and onto ‘All Wet’, another Public Domain Disney Short. Mostly to train up my capabilities with a new engine that is in use (which has been easy enough to use) and to expand on ideas I’ve wanted to do.
Steamboat Ops: Oswald’s Hot Dogs is currently half way done IN TERMS OF PROTOTYPING. So there should be a new update again very soon, this announcement will talk about what’s going to be in this release, some things that I’m happy with in it and stuff that might come in the future.
Game’s very limited Artwork, inspired by the Japanese version of MGS Portable Ops’s art
First, what’s going to be in this? Besides some really horrid drawings of Hot Dogs and Hot Dog buns that look like they’re something worse.
Well there will be a Point and Click Adventure esque gameplay loop, as well as some basic mini tasks. The game will also render at 720p, it will be available on the web and Windows. There’s not much promise as this is my first scaled project where there’s information about it is going live often. I’d rather have things working and running before talking about it.
The game should be out in the year but time will tell. Itch.io and Gamejolt listings should go live very soon, maybe tonight. I’ll inform you when I can.
I won’t hype this too much, as to me it’s simple and not awfully special. But it’s somewhat cool-ish. Hope to share news again very soon!

Heya peeps,
I wanna say sorry for how quiet I’ve been, I’ve gone through a lot over these last few weeks and ended up going solo for the project, it’s been hellish but I’ve got a final vision nailed down and a story, details of this will emerge when I think they’re ready. And with how all over the place my mind is currently, it’s safe to do that as I’m impulsive with decision making and don’t want to let people astray with multiple changes.
I’ve got the idea on what to do, something that seems reasonable, and I’ve gone on to make builds of it, I will share what it is like soon. Some decisions of mine will be what people won’t like, I’d say if enough backlash comes from it then I’ll look into changing it to the best of my abilities.
I want to say now that I’m also going to be vastly more quiet than before, as I’m going and doing multiple courses in 3D Modelling, Sculpting and doing Game Programming in multiple programming languages and need to have my head down in those classes. I do have free periods that I may look into doing changes and things of the sort however.
I do once again apologise for my quietness and I intend on doing a few announcements in a few weeks/months, depends on how I go.

The Project seems ready to enter into more of a heavy focus on concept art and prototyping now, as well as environment design and stuff of the sort.
I’m going to begin to get people to help with the project, I’m happy with how it is now, granted it’ll be short. Like I (might have) said a while back, I’m going to begin with getting friends on board first and then expand out if needed.
Hopefully things can start speeding up now, for now here’s a crappy doodle of a redesigned first shot from the short that I intend on getting redrawn, or not idk rn.

I rebooted Steamboat Ops and restarted my Game Design Document, but now that I’ve had a clear idea on what I want with this project. The document is now completed, I’ll be moving on to designing an expanded story for the game now before attempting to form a team and pitching the document and story the team.
A Synopsis of the expanded story will be shared when it’s completed and I’ll explain more about what is going to be implemented very soon. It’s slowly coming together, don’t expect any Trailers or anything of the sort for a while from now, it’s only going to be Devlog sort of things for now.
It’s 2am when I’m writing this so I’m going to start heading off now, toodloo!

I changed ‘Steamboat Willie: Steamboat Ops’ to just ‘Steamboat Ops’, mostly to shrink what needs to be said to understand the name of the game. I may remove the Mickey if needed. I have also begun learning more programming languages in order to really see what language might best fit, plus I’m looking for an easy to use and easy to understand engine.
I will be updating folks soon about what type of game this will be, that being either 3D or 2D, as this game is still in a conceptualisation phase. Just know it’s not a horror cash grab and it’s mostly a game intended on being fun, with the remainder of the game just being for jokes and stuff.
