hey yo my little killers and coppers

This is your co-pilot, Beth, speaking. I'll be taking a week long hiatus ("But Beth, we've only just opened!" Yes, I know) as I am off on a family vacation for a week, and then I have a conference to go to in the UK for a day before I get back! I'll be gone from Friday, 22 Aug, to Sunday, 1 September. But then I'll be back! Hopefully I'll get some replies and such in while I'm away but don't count on it.

Kal and Cap are still around to take care of all of your RPing needs.

↳Bio

Aya was born in Tokyo, Japan. Her Father was a simple shop-keeper, her Mother his assistant. Her childhood was relatively nice, she had no problems making friends and getting good grades in school. However, at age 11, her Father found his way between a yakuza shootout. He died quickly.

Aya and her Mother moved across oceans to America, moving into her Aunt's house. Adjusting to a new school when English isn't your first language was extremely difficult, especially with no friends. But, ever resilient, Aya pushed forward. She graduated with flying colors, even going to a good university and studying in psychology.

Aya quickly found a job working as a therapist for FBI agents, doing psych evaluations and the like. When Samantha left, however, David Harley saw the potential for her to become a forensic psychologist, but she always refused. It isn't until David is killed does she actually take his offer to heart. She's now the new forensic psychologist, and she wants to help profile and capture these killers any way she can.

→ Aya owns a scrapbook filled with pictures from when she lived in Tokyo. It has pictures of their old apartment, school, old friends, and even her Father.

→ Aya doesn't live with her Mother or Aunt anymore, but she constantly calls to check up on them. They live in Chicago.

→ Aya isn't the type to get upset easily, but when she does, she quietly holds in her anger. The only thing that has worked to calm her down so far are scifi movies.

↳ Connections

 Samantha Hale ⇒ Aya and Samantha both are former acquaintances. Both talented students, both attractive. Samantha and Aya had a quick fling, but it quickly died when Samantha moved on and started to work with the FBI. Aya never held it against her, but she still harbors some feelings for the woman.

Grace Lane ⇒ Grace is a reporter that seems to be investigating David's death. Aya is the only FBI affiliated agent that seems to give her the time of day. Why would working with the press be so bad, after all?

Alexander Grace ⇒ Alex is one of the new agents in the FBI, so that makes them both fresh meat. She has to do evaluations on him and his new partner, but she can't help but want to make friends with him. Even though he is fairly stubborn. And a tad rude.

Gabriel had a hard life, which reflects heavily on the choices he makes now-a-days. He’s sick in the head, mentally ill, a sadistic villain with a taste for revenge. Though, not revenge for himself rather than revenge for his mother. 

He was only four when his father had cast a shadow down upon his family, leaving both him and his mother poor and defenseless. The two moved from city to city, run down apartment to run down apartment and when the bills couldn’t be paid with the minimum wage jobs his mother was working, she turned to something else. Gabriel was completely oblivious to her actions; he was only seven at the start of her new “career”. 

The more she slept around, the more his mother was able to provide for their family. It was a blissful existence for the mean time, but as the hands on Gabriel’s bodily clock began to turn and the years began to tug him head first through their spiral; he soon realized exactly what his mother was doing to support them. Despite the multiple disputes the two of them had over the subject, she never did stop. Not until she was forced. 

Only a few days prior to his eighteenth birthday, Gabriel’s mother was found slaughter. More than likely by one of the men who had picked her up. It fueled a rage, a fire inside of him that no one could diminish. 

At the age of twenty-one, he committed his first murder. It felt good to be on the delivering end. Pain was something he fell in love with. Now, at the age of twenty-six, Gabriel continues to murder. Though, no one suspects him of it. As a confident and charismatic young man, not a single soul can pin-point him as a psychopathic killer. Not even the FBI. With murders never performed on connecting people, only strangers, and never in the same way he has managed to leave many people in the dark. 

And he plans to keep it that way.

It was three degrees above zero outside and the wind tore mercilessly at Lillith’s ears. She tried to duck behind her scarf for shelter, but the fabric it was made of was cheap and did nothing to stop the cold from numbing the very tip of her nose. It was as if the wind was a sadistic killer; it went for her eyes first before freezing its way down her esophagus. At this point, twenty minutes into her walk home, the chill was becoming over-bearing. The night couldn’t get much worse with four more miles ahead of her and fingers so numb they no longer flexed. That was her thought until something of a wet substance kissed the tip of her reddened nose. Snow was coming down in soft, slow white flakes; they kissed at the ground she walked upon. Great.

James is most at home in the morgue or on the field (within some reason), performing autopsies, finding out all of their little secrets about how they worked, what made them tick. Opening them up was far more telling than if he ever interacted with them face to face. A benefit of being who and what he was, he supposed, was that their corpses told him everything he wanted to know when he took them apart. From a scar in fifth grade that they got in a fight to a broken bone from a recent but unrelated fall. It’s not like he was comfortable in the limelight or anything - far from it, in fact. He was, in deed, most comfortable in the company of death (and preferably far, far away from the living, save a rare exception or two).

Dozens of times he’d been the one to break bad news to the families of hapless victims and each time, he’d witnessed their worlds crumble. Of course he held sympathy for them, but never truly understood their loss, until now. Only hours ago, he’d experienced the greatest moment of his career, the moment that would make his papa proud and he’d been happy… now his own world had come crashing down around him and the ache in his heart was almost too much to bare.

↳ Veronica Adams Johnson ❖ FC: Emily Bett Rickards ❖ 23 ❖ Security Systems Analyst / "Hacktivist"

↳Bio

Ronnie Johnson grew up with parents who could, in the most clear cut sense of the word, be called "hippies." They believed in the power of healing crystals and herbal recipes, and she didn't visit a proper doctor until the car crash that killed her parents when she was 10. Despite losing her parents at a young age, Ronnie thrived, adopted by people who were, at least interest-wise, the polar opposite of her biological parents. Denise and Frank Johnson were both analysts for the CIA. The quiet little girl quickly grew attached to her adoptive parents, and took their last name on her 16th birthday, changing her middle name to that of her biological birth surname. 

Ronnie was hardly an anomaly in the small part of Virginia where she grew up; many of their neighbours worked for the FBI, the CIA, the Department of State; a part of living so close to DC meant that most people worked in the capital; and the difficulties that accompanied those careers meant that many of Ronnie's friends were adopted as well. The Johnson's took in many foster children over the years, and had one child of their own, a boy called Andy, a year older than Ronnie. 

It was Andy who first taught Ronnie how to build a computer at 11, and with her new parents assistance, Ronnie found that she had an innate knack for science and computers. She was the top of all of her science and maths classes in high school (though was not as adept at English or History, and thus found herself falling more in the top 15% than the top 5%) and earned a place at MIT. Now a month and a half after finishing her Masters in Computer Science at MIT, Ronnie's returned to Virginia, and DC, to work as an Computer Specialist for the Department of Transportation. 

But being a so called "computer geek" couldn't extinguish the fire that her birth parents had lit in her from a very young age; Ronnie was an outspoken activist at MIT, pushing for reform in the CompSci department, and for a safer environment on and off campus. This activism followed her to DC, where she is slowly becoming one of the most well-known young activists in the city, speaking out and protesting staunchly against the rising violence tied to the group known only as "The Family." She spends her days at the DoT, her evenings at protests and activism meetings, and her late nights trying to hack her way into files, systems, whathaveyou, hoping she can take down even the smallest part of The Family all on her own.

→ Ronnie has one adoptive brother (her adoptive parents biological son), Andy, and two foster siblings, a brother called Johnny, and a sister called Lila.

→ Ronnie was caught up in a bank robbery gone wrong back in 2012, when some members tied to The Family staged a heist in Boston to help fund their set up. After seeing a security guard shot point blank in front of her eyes, Ronnie became almost obsessed with stopping The Family.

→  Ronnie has a bit of a 'love/hate' relationship with the law, and has a habit of breaking federal laws during her 'hacktivist' activities. It hasn't gotten her into any trouble with the FBI...yet.

↳ Connections

Andy Johnson ⇒ Andy is the Johnson's only biological son, and the oldest of the four children. At 25, he's two years out of college, and works as an Assistant Forensic Investigator for the FBI. Ronnie is closest to Andy, who was her first point of contact when she was adopted by the Johnson's, and took care of her without hesitation. He's fiercely protective of his idealistic little sister, and the two of them dropped the "adoptive sibling" label quite quickly after she was officially adopted.

Lila Mortison ⇒ Lila was a foster child taken in by the Johnson's when Ronnie was 16 and Lila was 14. Because of a long, drawn out court battle with Lila's biological mother, the Johnson's were never able to legally adopt Lila, and despite Ronnie and Andy trying to convince her otherwise, Lila always felt hurt by this. Ronnie and Lila aren't as close as they could be, but they still consider one another sisters, even if they do butt heads quite often. For her part, Ronnie has no idea that Lila is a killer.

Johnny Anderson ⇒ Johnny is Ronnie's age, and was taken in by the Jackson's, who lived next door to the Johnson's, when he was 16. Moody and reluctant, he barely acknowledged his neighbour until she helped him pass senior math. With Johnny off at Quantico, in the midst of FBI Police Training, she doesn't get to speak to him often, but trusts him quite a bit. He's a lot cleverer than most people give him credit for, and because of that, Ronnie often bounces ideas off of him when she's stuck, because he gives her new ways to look at things.

Jacobi Winters ⇒ These two struck up an odd sort of friendship after they bumped into one another at a bar in Adams Morgan. Ronnie is shy to admit she's developed a bit of a crush on the rough-and-tumble young man, but she keeps going out to the bar to grab drinks with him. Whether he sees her the same way, she has no idea. She also has no idea that Jacobi is a part of The Family.
