happy 4th of july for everyone who celebrates!
i am taking bio 11 over the summer so i can take bio 12 next school year. it is quite fast paced but i enjoy the thrill of how fast we learn and move throughout the chapters. i have my first test tomorrow and i have been studying like a maniac. it is on cell and DNA’s structure and function and i feel pretty confident going in tomorrow to take it.

I saw your post about bio 11 and I’m 14 rn and I’m taking a fast paced math thing which gave me a free period (it’s complicated) so the school let me take grade 10 science and then any 20 science I wanted to take, so I took bio 11 so I’ll finish bio12 next year, but ye I’m not sure what other sciences to take + is bio interesting?
i personally find bio more interesting at the fast pace im learning in because im in summer school, but depending on your curriculum, i learn about plants and animals in gr 11 and human anatomy / related things in bio 12. i find it interesting but thats because i dont really enjoy chem or physics.
when it comes to taking sciences, it really depends on what you are planning to go to university for and/ or what youre interested in. im planing on going onto business/ sports mangement (thats my dream) so sciences are not required for my field of study.
if you arent strong in sciences, i recommend you only take what you need to so you dont overload your work.
i hope this helps!

Do you have any tips on how to study over the summer so everything is not forgotten from the previous year?
hi anon!
honestly i understand the struggle of investing so much time and energy towards school and then you get two months on and it is all gone.
my best advice is to review the basics through either your own notes or to look up videos reviewing the subjects/topics. i also like to use khan academy over the summer to keep my brain fresh and moving.
if anyone would like a larger post on this please tell me because i have a lot of tips that i would like to share that get more specific depending on the subject

A very belated life update! I finished spring quarter and boy was it a good one :’) I only had classes three days a week and I think I just gave myself absolute freedom to do whatever I wanted because I thought I would have a boring summer ahead so I had a blast I was so fearful of a dreary summer of being a hermit, but it has been anything but! Moving into an apartment has been one of the most exciting experiences of my life and studying for the MCAT has actually been very fun because of all of the support I’m surrounded by and I’ve been loving the change in pace from my normal nonstop-running-around-campus grind I’ve been doing a lot more studying than I’ve ever done before, but have surprisingly not taken many photos – hence the lack of posts, sorry, will try to do better :’)

Tips on Decluttering School Work
I have officially finished my sophomore year of high school, and the week after is the most crucial organizing time for all of your school work. Thinking about just throwing everything in the trash because the school year is over? I would strongly recommend you rethink your decision. A lot of your teachers and professors give you papers you know you will never need again, and that is fine. Throw all those papers out, but they also give you a ton of important pieces of paper that will be beneficial to the rest of your educational career. Here are my basic tips with decluttering your binders and notebooks!
1. Keep all of your general notes
General notes are notes in subjects such as math or bio that you know you will be pursuing. The worst thing to do is to throw away notes either you’ve made or have been given on basic principles that are the foundation to all your maths classes. Same goes with science, history, and even English. Simple rule - whatever you are taking the next year, keep the notes from the previous year’s class.
2. Use a file folder
This tip is honestly a life saver. Keep all of your work together neatly in one. I only use one for all of my years in high school, so I use envelopes to separate the subjects and year. This way you have everything you need to refer back to in one place.
3. Don’t hold onto everything!
If you aren’t planning on taking a class the next year then don’t keep the notes. It takes up valuable space and that space can be used for notes you know you will need for years to come.
I really hope this helps some of you who are keen on organizing your notes. These are the very basics, and if you would like more in-depth detail of how to organize your notes (the way I do it) I will be posting a video sometime this week on my youtube channel showing the basics of how I organize everything and go more in depth.

hey there
im not sure how many people are seeing this or whoever still follows me remembers who I am, but hello once again. I am restarting up my tumblr because even though the school year is ending for me (this week) my education isn’t stopping until mid-august, which by then I will be preparing for the new school year. I have had lots of personal emergencies in however long it has been since I am gone and I am now able to dedicate my spare time to making this blog what I dream it to be, not only a place where I show my progress and to keep myself on top of things, but as a way to share my experiences with people that can hopefully help everyone through life and school as they can be danting at times.
xoxo,
Simone :)
