i fear i need to say this…
it's important to distinguish between traditional values themselves and the systems that have historically weaponized them. being a SAHM, wanting a family, or feeling a natural pull toward caregiving aren't inherently sexist. what is sexist is when those roles are imposed on women as the only acceptable path, or when women are punished for stepping outside of them. feminism isn't about rejecting every traditionally feminine trait just because those traits have been used to confine women in the past. it's about dismantling the structures that remove choice.
calling motherhood or nurturing instincts inherently sexist ironically reinforces the same binary thinking feminism seeks to undo. yes, gender roles were shaped under patriarchy, but that doesn't mean every woman who embraces a "traditional" life is brainwashed or anti-feminist. feminism doesn't mean scorning softness, or domesticity, or tradition…it means honoring a woman's right to choose whether or not those things are right for her.
