The boy decided to fix the portal wasn’t just to help his parents.

A part of him quiet, broken—hoped it might end him.

A clean accident. A way out that wouldn’t look like he gave up.

But it didn’t work.

Still, he managed to fix the portal.

The accident left its scars.

His body colder than ice.

Skin—ashen, sickly pale, shadows sunk deep beneath his eyes.

He lies to everyone, laughs it off, says he’s just going through some “emo phase” from hanging out with Sam too much.

His friends play along. They smile. They worry.

They don’t know how to help.

Fragile as he is, he still hunts ghosts.

Still guards a city that doesn’t even notice he’s fading.

Pathetic, isn’t it?

The boy, reckless and bright in all the wrong places, tells himself there’s nothing wrong with being a halfa.

He feels powerful when he’s Phantom.

He feels free.

Untouchable. Weightless.

He laughs.

He taunts Skulker.

He rolls his eyes when Vlad and Box Ghost shows up.

He guards the city while playing little chase games with his ghost hunter parents and Red Huntress.

In those moments, he feels—

alive.

Until he meets Dan.

The monster beneath his skin.

His own reflection twisted beyond repair.

And then.

he can’t balance the pieces anymore.

How can he protect anyone when he himself is something that should not exist?
