Quit asking professionals to do things for free
Quit asking professionals to do things for free
I’ve had multiple conversations recently about the importance of placing more value on your own time. One friend had told me he had started spending less and less time with people who he felt weren’t making good use of his time. “Why would I spend time with people who only want to smoke and talk about girls they’re smashing? I don’t think like that, I don’t want to spend time with people who do.”

Are You Comfortable with Getting Uncomfortable?
Are You Comfortable with Getting Uncomfortable?
I’ve noticed so many people who are dead set in remaining in their comfort zones. As a random text post on Pinterest once said: “Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.” Or something like that. I think about this quote a lot because it keeps me reevaluating my life, making sure I’m not in my comfort zone for too long at a time.
I feel that when I remain in my comfort…

Replace "I'm Sorry" with "Thank You"
Replace “I’m Sorry” with “Thank You”
One thing that is essential when trying to become a better person is making sure you’re not messing things up for other people. Holding yourself accountable can be difficult because it requires you to admit the fact that you’re not perfect. Apologies are great but thank you’s are better.
I read this quote a while back that has really resonated with me that deals with this exact problem. I don’t…

How I Find Workout Motivation
How I Find Workout Motivation
Someone recently asked me how I keep myself motivated for workouts, and as I was thinking about how I would answer that, I realized it’s kind of a multi-faceted answer for me. I grew up in an extremely active household, rarely spending time indoors. I never had to worry about staying active, and that eventually turned into joining sports teams and getting into competitive swimming.
The downside…

I Don't Get Everything I Want By Wishing For It.
I don't get everything I want by wishing for it.
One of the best parts about doing freelance work is the flexibility it gives me to travel. As much as I loved school (seriously, I already miss it… Thinking about going back), I hated how it kept me from traveling and seeing the world.
I’ve been trying basically my whole life to get out of the States and it just hasn’t been working. I signed up for an archaeology dig in Israel three summers in a…

Model Housing Part TWO
When girls start threatening to drag each other down the stairs by their hair.
As you know, I’ve had quite the trip when it comes to living in model apartments. I’ve lived in quite a few of them in New York and two in Los Angeles. I recently wrote about one of the experiences I encountered during the first few months of my stay in my very first model apartment, but there’s so much more that I have not even begun to cover.
When you have 14 girls living together in one…

Hydrating Winter Skincare
Hydrating Winter Skincare from your favorite skincare junkie
I wanted to put together some winter skincare options because sooo many people have been asking me for recommendations for dry skin issues. I’ve vetted these and did my research, I just have to have a quick run to Sephora to grab some samples! I added little quote sections with info about certain ingredients some of the products contain (from Paula’s Choice) to give y’all an idea of what these…

Birchbox: It's like a Monthly Birthday Present, but BETTER.
Birchbox: It’s like a Monthly Birthday Present, but BETTER.
I discovered my love for Birchbox while perusing Youtube in high school. I came across one of Ingrid Nilsen’svideos about Birchbox as a junior and was instantly intrigued. I remember my first impression was a curiosity because I had always had an interest in beauty and makeup, but never knew how to get into it. My beauty routine was mediocre at best, and I hadn’t established an effective skincare…

How Awkward Can One Person Really Be?
My awkward stage was exponentially longer than anyone else I've ever met.
My first day of freshman year of high school marked the first day at a brand new school district. Growing up, I always embraced change and fresh starts because I felt as though it allowed me to press the reset button. It used to be a coping mechanism but has since evolved into something so much more positive for me.
I shuffled up to the back entrance of the school I was already so familiar with…

Don’t Tell Me Everything Happens for a Reason
But it does
You know when someone tells you “everything happens for a reason” when something shitty happens to you and you’re supposed to thank them for the support when in reality you just want to slap them across the face?
I’ve officially become one of those “everything happens for a reason” kinds of people.
I was 100% NOT one of those people throughout high school. Actually, I was a pretty negative and…

BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS
If any of you know me at all, you’ll know that I love BOOTS! Seriously. I rediscovered the love for this particular footwear genre (is that what you’d call it? That’s what I’m calling it) when I shot a quick little feature with Thursday Boot Co. this past week. They have really well-made and affordable boots for both men and women and the boots I took home from the shoot are my new favorite! I’ve got their Major pair in dark olive, but I have my eye on a few other ones. I’m gonna add them here, with pics, along with some other brands that I’ve been perusing as of late.

Thursday Boot Co. - Studded Black Highline - $215
I’m a sucker for the color black. It makes up most of my wardrobe. The studs on these are just an added bonus.

Thursday Boot Co. - Slate Vegan Captain - $190
FOR MY VEGAN LOVELIES. These are so pretty and sleek. I’m obsessed with the fit and I need these in my life.

By Far - Este White Leather - €450.00
I’m a sucker for lighter shoes right now. These are just so simple and sleek. I found them while exploring Vogue and fell in love!

Bevza - Square Ankle Boots in Black - €375
The shape of these is just so unique for me. It reminds me of the Balenciagas that are so popular right now (shoutout to Cardi)

Dôen - Victoriana Boot in Sienna - $278
I didn’t offer any promises of a pop of color, but I’m delivering it. These are fabulous. I’m officially obsessed.

I'll Confess: I Have an Addiction.
I'll Confess: I Have an Addiction (to travel)
To travel.
Traveling is the basic fuel of my existence, and I feel as though it helps me recharge. It makes me feel alive. It’s nice to have a home base, though, and that’s what New York is for me. It’s the only physical place I’ve ever been homesick for, and I’ve found that my happiness has increased exponentially since moving back. It’s going to be a difficult journey but I don’t mind because…

My Skincare Routine
I finally got around to documenting my skincare routine!
I have been getting more and more into skincare in the last year or so, as I explore how to improve the appearance of my skin. Part of this is just merely to increase my self-confidence, but part of it is also quite literally in my job description. I never had perfect skin growing up, so when my first agent told me I needed to clear up my skin before I booked any jobs, I started taking it more…

Model Housing - Part 1 of God Only Knows How Many
She stole WHAT from a homeless person?!
I’ve had several people ask me what it’s like to live in model housing and for some reason, I’ve never really even considered writing about it. When I look back on the experience, however, I’m amazed that I was able to survive the experience for so damn long. This is probably going to end up being a series because so much happened to me in the span of the 14-month span in which I spent living in…
