Walking to the bar, she smiled, nodding at the bartender “Whiskey, please. Thank you.” If she meets at a bar, she might as well enjoy a drink or two… Or more. Ears picked up the instrumental music playing in the background, though it became drowned out by the laughs and conversations that happened around her. As she leaned against the bar, Gemma took note of those around her, this wasn’t her usual spot, but alcohol was alcohol, and it had the same effects. Fixing her dress, the brown-haired woman glanced around the bar once more, this time noticing a blind man in the corner of the bar. Thinking nothing of him, these people seemed too ‘clean’ to get their hands dirty. But that was upscale New York for you. The rich paid people to do the dirty work. She hated these places, too stuck up for her, and no smell of the recent bar fight. Shame. But, when a job called… She answered, especially when it seemed like it would pay well. And one that could get her name out there more, not that she was desperate for money or notoriety. But she wouldn’t complain if she got either of them, as long as no cops were involved. Pulling her phone from the small black bag she set on the bar, she sighed.

‘9:50 PM’

Now what kind of impression was this? Sighing, she slipped the bartender a fifty for her drinks before leaving the bar. ‘And here I thought you’d be reliable… I even gave you an extra ten minutes, something I NEVER do… Shame.’ The woman thought as she walked down the street, she kept her guard up. If this person had not shown up, there was a reason. And neither of them were good, at least the two things she could think of at the moment. Because either A) They were setting up a trap because she stepped on too many toes. Or B) They were a narc collecting intel and got enough. She would possibly be seeing flashing lights. Her heels clicked along the sidewalk as she turned the corner at the end of the block. Opening her phone, Gemma herself a Lyft home. She would not get caught over having one too many drinks, not that she was drunk, but it was enough to get attention from the NYPD. Who seemed to be out in full force hunting for DUIs. But, if this was a sting operation, she could say she went to a bar, had a few drinks, and took a Lyft home. They would have no way to prove it was HER communicating with them. Gemma was great at hiding footprints on the internet. After paying for the Lyft, she waited at the spot. While waiting, people walked by. Many were quite inebriated, smiling Gemma kept up the appearance she had just gone out for a nice drink, that way, Gemma had a feasible alibi.
