now, moving onto Max. this is where things get a bit messy and you can definitely disagree with me here.

so the reason why people accuse Max of being racist is due to an incident with Lance Stroll during FP2 of the 2020 Portuguese GP. they collided and in the heat of the moment Max said this (team radio):

"Is this f*cking guy blind? What the f*ck is wrong with him? Jesus Christ. What a r*tard. I have damage. What a mongol. I swear." (source)

this was definitely ableist and racist. no excuses, whatsoever. the article also shows how he said it, "wasn't his problem" which was also wrong but RB said they don't condone his words. it's a lil odd but very few on twitter spoke against him.

however, he apologized to Lance after the team had a talk with him. he admitted he made a mistake and while he didn't mean to offend, he certainly did. i am not excusing his actions, they were wrong and he should be held accountable, instead I'm appreciating his response.

you can scoff at that, but remember, not everyone has the awareness that certain language is wrong and offensive. not everyone has grown up in such an environment. cultural or language barriers, what you've been taught at home etc. also play a huge role in what you may think is right to say. don't want to get too into it but his father isn't so innocent in all this. what you hear and experience growing up impacts you massively and THIS is a great article on their relationship. well written and not too biased.

as an Asian and POC myself, I was upset when I heard his words and his apology also didn't make me happy. but seeing that he realised why it was wrong and not repeating it is something I am glad about (it's a small thing but if we want people to learn, you need to be patient).

we all make mistakes, it's how we respond to them that makes us who we are. Max hasn't repeated his errors, he's learned to be better and I think that's the most important thing. he has been so much more careful on his team radios and that's improvement.

I don't think those one or two moments define him as a person. he's much more than that. he's also a young person, learning about the world as he grows just like most of us, except he has the spotlight shining on him 24x7. instead of giving him a chance at redemption and learning, people are quick to attack him and I REALLY hate that. you can't expect people to improve if you're going to villianise them instead of help them learn why they are wrong.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I don't think Charles and Max are racist. one has his reasons for not doing a symbolic gesture and one made a mistake from which he has learned. I am NOT excusing their behaviour though and will NOT defend or justify their mistakes. just cause they're celebrities doesn't mean they can't do wrong. it's an expectation we have of all drivers to be like current day Seb and Lewis but that's not possible!

at the end of the day, they're still young and may make a few more mistakes along the way that people will criticize, and that's okay. they will learn, improve and come out as better humans.

it's easy to bring up incidents from the past to hate on any driver, and I'm not expecting anyone to deem Charles and Max completely innocent. you can still not like them for whatever reasons but calling them 'racists' isn't right in my opinion. there are many things you can not like them for, as drivers or humans, but terming them something that serious due to an error, isn't right. you're judging a person's entire character on one choice, one mistake, and both these guys are sooo much more than that. they've learned to be better than that.

this doesn't mean I'm disregarding the racism that is existent in this sport, towards Lewis and Yuki especially. it is a valid problem, one that isn't getting any smaller. from the casual racism from the commentators to f1 media to even the teams being provocative, it's a legitimate issue that needs sorting out. my only point is, those that say racism and racists exist in the sport cause of guys like Max and Charles aren't being the most logical.

ANYWAYS. it just boils down to the fact that asian people are not interchangeable, there's a severe lack of asian representation in all media on the west, and asian folks are continuously mistaken or lumped together as just "asian" despite the fact that asia is a vast region filled with different countries and different cultures. it feels wrong to watch someone who is korean playing a character who is chinese, and vice versa purely because one, we don't look the same, and two, different cultures. it's just disrespectful, inconsiderate, and further adds to this ongoing lack of understanding in differentiating asian identities. (i'm thinking about this one rpg i once saw on fb rp where it was called the "lee family" and they basically just lumped every famous eastern/south eastern asian actor in it and called them a FAMILY, a blood family. like picture lana condor, jamie chung, henry golding, brenda song, arden cho etc. they were all in it lmao)

so on september 11th, famed nyt editorial writer, keynesian economist and fave of your racist liberal uncle, paul krugman, wrote one of the shittiest takes I have ever seen on twitter, which is SAYING SOMETHING.

krugman famously tweeted this:

and got a million virtual shoes thrown at him for being so ignorant, because anti-muslim hate crimes did actually escalate after 9/11, and the bush administration eagerly fanned the flames of islamophobia in order to make their illegal wars in afghanistan and iraq popular with the public. muslims, sikhs, indians, literally anyone vaguely brown, and lots of black ppl too, were terrorized by their neighbors, (former) friends, classmates, coworkers, etc. and anyone with a muslim friend knows this happened because they've told us about it. and these attacks were reported on. they were, I remember reading about them when I was a kid.

(paul krugman works for the new york fucking times, and while I think the nyt is warmongering centrist garbage, they do actually report on things that happen in the world. he writes editorials for them, surely he reads the damn paper once in a while).

so today, I log on to twitter and see he has decided not to apologize, but rather do the ol' double down, which always works out well.

here are some highlights:

okay so first thing's first, no apology (obviously) since this is a double down. but we got a chart, and liberals do love a good chart when they are being racist and ahistorical.

he admits that the chart is actually inaccurate because it excludes all the other victims of anti-muslim hate crimes who weren't actually muslim (read: the innocents). okay. so already he is losing credibility because he is using an inaccurate chart as the basis of his double down, and really, we love to see it.

after this there's some shit about how he didn't say there wasn't an outbreak of white americans attacking muslims and people mistaken for muslims, but rather that it could have been worse. lol well anything can be worse than it was, as 2020 has taught us. it’s a pedantic mess and I didn’t feel like that was the meat of the double down.

so first off, the iraq war was definitely started for many reasons, but islamophobia was part of it. the bush administration wanted to invade iraq and depose saddam hussein, and steal iraq’s oil for multinational oil companies lbr, and so they exploited americans’ fears about muslims by propagandizing about how it was important for us to attack them over there before they attacked us over here with their weapons of mass destruction, and of course they would attack us over here if given the chance. why? because they hate our way of life here, our freedom. those things were LITERALLY said by bush people and also by their stans at fox news and the wsj, and yes, in the editorial pages at the nyt.

so to someone like paul krugman, who knows lots of conservatives who don’t seem racist, or are educated and distinguished and just... like war? idk but to him, he sees people like them and says, well... they’re not like uneducated filthy poors in west virginia, not that kind of racist.

but what he doesn’t get, or he is being deliberately obtuse about, is that in order for the bush people to dehumanize muslims the way they did, they had to personally place less value on the lives of iraqis than on the value of that sweet crude oil. they were willing to go to war, sacrifice hundreds of thousands of civilians in the process (as well as thousands of american soldiers, but this isn’t about them) because they didn’t see them as anything but collateral damage. and that is fucking racist.

and while I have no interest in playing the “which racist is worse” game, when the west virginia uneducated racist endangers those around them, the politician rich harvard educated racist writes policy and lies us into illegal wars that endanger millions. both are bad, both are racist.

and by the way, him “sticking his neck out” to speak up against going to iraq was brave and necessary, especially because the nyt was pushing the invasion. but when you put it like that... you just sound like a tool. like it was a burden to call out the liars and imperialists. bitch, you’re paul krugman, a nobel laureate and renowned economist. I do not want to discount the IMMENSE pressure and blacklisting that opponents of the bush administration experienced, because showing any opposition to the wars at the time was risky. but idk the way he put that just irked me, especially since he didn’t even lose his job like many in the media did when they spoke up.

usually what liberals do when they fuck up publically is a fake ass apology and a few hail marys, and I assumed he would be on twitter begging for forgiveness on this one since his garbage take went so viral and pissed off so many people. and of course was wrong.

there is a lot to unpack here, namely that paul krugman is using faux concern for black people as a way to deflect from his shitty ahistorical take about how much restraint white americans showed after 9/11 towards muslims. maybe krugman doesn’t know any black muslims, but they exist. also oppression olympics is stupid even when used by well meaning essentialists, let alone by milquetoast academics.

not to mention that he has already discounted his own shitty chart by saying it doesn’t show the full picture of what happened in these anti-muslim attacks. but even if we take this chart seriously, it actually does not really support his point. look at how many more hate crimes there were against muslims in 2001 than there were in 2000. there are significantly more black people than muslims in the united states. I am not good at math, and surely I am no nobel laureate, but it seems to me that hate crimes against black people increased a little, and hate crimes against muslims increased a lot. and this chart only takes into account three years, and only two of which are post-9/11. so... idk man maybe we should look at what happened in, say, 2003? 2004? how about all of the 2000s?

oh, that is actually pretty consistently bad! yes, there was one spike in 2001/2002, but it isn’t like we went back down to pre-9/11 numbers afterwards. and I am not sure if this information includes non-muslims targeted for “looking muslim” but I would say it is unlikely, since the data seem pretty similar to krugman’s olympic shit.

elites in the press and in government have been trying to whitewash and rehabilitate george bush’s reputation for YEARS, and they are succeeding. and why would they want to do that? well, there are a lot of reasons. one, a lot of people in washington are complicit in bush’s crimes. two, democrats think they need to appeal to moderate republicans (lol) in order to win elections, and I guess they think there are moderate republicans left (lol!), and that those moderate republicans like george bush (LOLLL). three, they want to make trump look uniquely terrible. if they do that, then no one but trump needs to be held to account for his government’s failings. but these are just my speculation.

My dad told me to tell my boss I wanted Tuesday off because my aunt is coming down. So at the end of work yesterday I tell her that and then she kind of makes the joke about how I have to get my dad's permission and I was just like LOL no. Lo and behold a few hours later, she calls me to remind me to ask my dad she wasn't joking. My dad needs to control my life so fucking much that I'm no longer allowed to ask for days off of work unless they get personally vetted by him.

I was at reagen's house and I proceeded to have apparently a fucking mental breakdown and he was just kind of like holding my arms down so I didn't like try to beat the shit out of something I was so pissed off I don't even know who.. He was just like yeah let's not let your hands turn into fists BC I have long nails now. And I guess he didn't want me to dig them into my own fist

So apparently even though I'm 20 goddamn years old, I'm not allowed to be in control of my own fucking job or my own education the only reason I didn't tell him to go fucking kill himself or something or I hope he dies of cancer is because he's also letting me have full control over my car while I'm down here.

And Reagen had work so I had to leave his house and continue my mental breakdown somewhere else and instead of doing the smart thing and going over to my best friend's house, I go to a random Church in our town and I proceed ever break down in the parking lot and this truck get circling my car and then I find out after I told my mom later but that's where prostitutes go to get men.

So I just go back home and I eventually calmed the fuk down Jesus Christ I honestly don't think I've been this pissed in years.

If they really think that I'm going to be spending any time at home they are sorely mistaken they gave me free access to the car as long as I work so do you know what that means I'm just never going to fucking be home. My friend's mom is going to get tired of seeing my face lmao

proceeded to have a fucking screaming fight between me and my dad a couple weeks ago when I was here for Thanksgiving. He got mad telling me I'm only using them for a place to live while I'm at college and then I don't really love them and then when I was just like yeah duh you treat me like shit he got so pissed off he's like why don't you get on your own goddamn phone plan and so I told him okay and then it just so happened to fall into place that Reagen just got a job at a phone store.

So apparently my dad will never stop trying to control my life until he's dead. He will do whatever it takes to control every little aspect of what i do or say.

I don't even know if I rented about finding out that I had family that actually love me and that they took them away from me but the whole reason why I'm even taking off Tuesday is because his sister and her husband are coming to our house I haven't seen one since I was 15. But I gotta act like everything is normal and we don't have such a dysfunctional family.

Let me leave another digital footprint about where I've been, what's been happening, my life updates, and how many dark days I've successfully past to be here hahahaha

1. I'm 24. Well technically about to be 25 this year but hey, still 10 more months let me not think about becoming a quarter of decade first, ok?!

2. I've fucking graduated! Hahahaha yeah I have a BS now, B.Sc for sure. Bachelor of Science. On 2019. Finally huh? Twas some roller coaster of uni life. I kinda missing it now tho🙄

3. Currently working, on my second job!

Gotta say I'm lucky, blessed, whatever but clearly lucky enough to found a job right after I started looking for one, which is 2 months after the graduation ceremony. It wasn't a glamorous job at all, but I loved it. And I love my job now as well. I can say it's my life, my whole life😂😂 as maybe I can predict ever since I'm a child that I'll grow up into a workaholic kind of person lol #capricorn at its best quality ✨✨ And hey, I'm doing pretty great! Career ladder wise, salary ladder wise, I'm doing okay. Of course my current salary is far from my ideal salary if count based on my education background, my vision board and my stuck up personality, but anyway all good all great, considering I'm now living in the middle of a pandemic.

4. Yeah right, I should've mentioned this on the first update. It's pandemic year!!!! Corona now ru(i)ns the world, est.2020. Crazy, crazy year. People working from home, people got laid off, people got sick and dead, the world turns upside down. But let's be grateful that we all still alive and thriving and still have tomorrow to looking forward.

5. I'm still friends with my best friend, and I still like them as much as I like my dog or well I like them more and more every day ngl I love em and I feel lucky grateful to find em🥺🥺

6. I see the reason I started this tumblr initially was for me, a cold hearted, heartless, emotionless, denial-lover, avoidant person to LEARN to pour out my emotions for the sake of the mental health and to recover from...uhm, brokenheart hahah🙄 I see the last time I post here I said I've moved on but let me tell you that I still sometimes missed him and there was this never ending curiousity of what could've happened and what went wrong.

Now, 3 years later, let me tell you that I am now has been Ex-Free for a whole good year!!!!!!!! ✨✨✨✨ I think it's all started in the middle of 2019 and it continues til now.

I even met someone last year that I instantly feel connected (well, idk the other end I'm not responsible for their feelings) let's we all hope that this will end well, shall we? Because I really like him

See, it's a LOT OF WORK AND OBSTACLES I'VE OVERCAME to finally being an individual who recognises its own feelings and being okay with it. Proud of me💐

7. It's not all rainbows and sunshine, there were lots of bad days, especially those near my period days.

Called it PMDD, I now become very close with that bitch. Definitely has a strong effect on me, makes me 100x bitchier than usual. Not only that, but some times also kick me right at the gut and throw me into the deepest hole very near with borderline depression. But that's another story to tell. The last few months has been good tho, the symptoms is no longer worse maybe except this month lmao.

I started to think whenever I overworked myself, put myself in the middle of a very packed schedule with a messy sleeping pattern and unhealthy food, the symptoms will only getting worse. So I guess my homework is to balance it all out. No big deal..

8. Last but not least, I lost a couple of friends/aunties/grandpa this last 3 years.

Started in 2019, on April, suddenly a friend of mine from the secondary school died from lung cancer (may he rest in peace, we all really sorry for being such a jerk). Pretty shocking, kind of throw me off.

And then another friend suddenly got sick and he died on August, literally 2 weeks after we visited him in the hospital. Bone cancer. This one friend was closer to me, his house even just a couple metres away from mine. Last fun we had was when we were on a small reunion and he picked me up, and on the way home he told me and my other friend that his legs occasionally felt numb and weak. We joked that it was the age factor hahahah we had no idea that it was actually cancer. It was on May, if I'm not mistaken. We knew he had cancer by June/July. Consider him as a good friend, good human. Yeah anyway, his death literally surprised me and I was really really sad. Well, fella, I hope you both found a safe place in heaven and continuously play your music for God just like you did on your time on earth. We love you both, we will never forget you.

Lastly, my grandpa died on September 2020. Also two or three weeks after I visit him? Couldn't remember. Haven't paid a visit to his grave since it's pandemic season, I can only watch virtually the moment he was on the casket and buried. Hope you'll always watching us and guide us, grandpa!

I reblogged some post about Hamilton’s glorification of white slavers and was like, I still liked the musical and I liked how diverse it was and all the roles for poc etc, etc.

And ya’ll lost yall damn minds on me. Also I can’t seem to engage with those people’s comments directly for some reason and Idk how to fix that so I’m just gonna post here in case they creepin lol.

I’ll try to answer the questions (accusations?) I remember getting but it’s really hard to go back and forth and the full comments ain’t even showing up for me because idk how tumblr works since I don’t engage with people.

I reblog things that I like or think or interesting or think need to be seen by more people. I don’t tag people most of the time because most of the time I’m talking to just get my thoughts out on paper (u know what I mean). If you don’t like me reblogging your stuff then idk, maybe there’s a feature on here to stop reblogs or put in the tags don’t reblog if you don’t agree or some shit lol. But no, I’m not gonna do a stand alone post about my response to ya’lls posts because that takes the context away from any poor soul that stumbles onto my blog.

I don’t usually think my views are always correct or right or flawless, and I’d prefer to have people be able to read what I was responding to and form their own opinions than to go on a random rant like I’m doing now.

Now in regards to the responses:

I don’t think black people suddenly got access to jobs in broadway because of LMM. I really don’t remember saying that or anything like that in my post and I skimmed over it like twice just now (I’m not reading that whole thing fully again, I got ADHD lol) If that’s the impression I gave off then I’m really sorry! That’s not my intention; I was just saying that I liked how diverse the cast of Hamilton was, not that it’s the only show that’s diverse or wtv. I was trying to highlight my point of even things that have bad parts can have good parts. Somebody put something in quotes when they replied to me that I’m sure I didn’t say about Hamilton paving the way for blacks to get jobs or something to that affect. Don’t put words in my mouth. Quote what I really said and call me out on my bullshit fairly.

I liked Hamilton’s soundtrack because it was the whole performance, and I’d read that LMM had the entire thing in song so that people who couldn’t afford to go see it could still listen to the full show. I thought that was neat of him but I don’t think that’s the first time it’s been done? I feel like cats was also like that at the very least but idk. 

I literally am not informed enough to speak on the damage LMM has done to communities in Puerto Rico. I can’t form an opinion on that because I haven’t educated myself enough on it to say something. So, yeah, not ignoring it, just can’t speak on it.

Like if you’re big into theater and black I can safely say idk much at all about theater, but Hamilton did have me looking up more broadway soundtracks to listen to. Like, the number of times I’ve just been gaslit by fellow black people for not jumping on whatever dick they riding on or not being aware of something that “everybody really black” knows is ridiculous. My whole fucking family is black. I am fully black with southern black parents living in the south. I am the descendant of slaves on both sides of my family what more do you want? What more do I need to do, for you to feel like I am “really” part of my community?

I literally have spent the past few days hardly sleeping thinking about all the shit black people go through and fighting on social media with racist people and I come on here and ya’ll coming after me for finding positives in a damn musical. 

It boils down to the fact that I like the songs. That’s it. That’s literally all it is. I just like the songs. You can’t tell me Wait for It isn’t a beautifully sung song. Because that’s just my opinion.

And Idk if I can’t see ya’lls full responses or wtv, but ya’ll ignored all my points on how creators need to address any racism in the works they’re inspired by. It’d be great if there was a panel with the cast where they got to talk about how they felt about the characters they portrayed and what they wanted people to take from the show and discussed among themselves the dark parts of American history perpertrated by the people they were playing and used their prominance to jump start some really great conversations.

I remember there being a resurgence of people wanting Hamilton on the $20 and I remember thinking that was bullshit because it was supposed to be Harriet Tubman if I’m not mistaken, but also Trump happened so that’s not gonna be a thing while he’s there anyway. I never said I agreed with whoever wanted that to happen (and yes that includes LMM) so what does that have to do with the point of me liking the soundtrack and wanting to see the people perform?  I don’t know why I can’t just like the music without people thinking I’m a diehard LMM fan lol.

Health

How is your health? It’s doing fine, as usual. My stomach did feel weird this morning – like it couldn’t digest properly – because I downed five slices of pizza within minutes last night lmao, but it has since calmed down. 

Do you know anyone who has beaten cancer? One of my former Filipino teachers had thyroid cancer but beat it.

When was the last time you had a doctor’s appointment? Three years ago when I was signing up to be admitted to my university.

How often do you exercise? Literally never. Gab and her sisters actually made me do wall push-ups and squats last night. I could hold neither position for more than a few seconds at a time because of how unfamiliar I am with exercise lmaaaaao.

Do you take physical education in school? We took it every single year from kindergarten to high school, and we also have to take four PE classes in college.

Are you on any medications? Nope. Do you have any mental disorders? I’m sure I do. I just have never gotten around to getting myself checked. Have you ever ‘walked’ for a foundation (e.g., Breast Cancer, Heart Stroke, etc.)? No. I’ve marched before but it was for Pride lol, nothing to do with health.

Books

Are there many shelves in your house dedicated to books? No, not shelves. The top of my closet serves as a ‘shelf’ for my books, and I also have a drawer-like compartment (with 3 levels) with all of my childbook books, but that’s it; I don’t think that counts as a lot, especially because I’ve stopped reading.

A lot would be in one of our older houses. My great-grandfather was a lawyer and had shelves upon shelves UPON SHELVES UPON SHELVES of every kind of encylopedias and law books you could ever imagine. I remember as a child being confused about that house being so cramped and why we had to have so many books; I didn’t come to appreciate what it all meant until recently. What page are you on in the book you’re reading? I’m on page 30something, but I stopped reading it. It’s a book on business and it started to get all technical and I just lost interest. Do you have an opinion on the Harry Potter/Twilight debate, or is it all stupid and pointless? It’s stupid to me mainly because they’re two different books with different plots and different personalities. I liked Twilight because I resonated with Bella more and the stories of the werewolves and vampires were interesting to me. Harry Potter bored me immediately with the antics of the kids and the spells and the potions and the talking newspaper. Doesn’t stop me from picking a side though, lol. Is there a section of the library you always gravitate towards? Non-fiction. History and biography. I stay away from the fiction area. Do you read more books or magazines? If I am caught reading...books. What was the last book you read aloud? Not a book, but I would read my academic readings aloud so I can process them quicker and better. It was probably a political science reading since it was one of the last tests I took last semester. Is being published one of your biggest aspirations? It was, when I was 10. If I’m published I’d like it to be for an academic paper, and not anymore a literary work. Do you keep your books in good shape, or are they pretty thrashed? They’re all in good shape. Most are just yellowing as my collection is pretty old.

Are males your preferred gender? I still don’t really know how to answer this because I’m a demisexual who has only ever been with a girl. Safe answer: I have no idea. Do you have a best guy friend? My closest friend would probably be Hans.

Are guys more confusing than girls? No. I’ve found that guys are generally straightforward, way more so than girls. At least the ones I know of. If you’re not a guy, what would you do if you could be a guy for a day? I just won’t cat-call. Otherwise I’d spend the whole time wishing I was back to being a girl.

How many uncles do you have? In the Philippines, every older man that you have some sort of relationship with – whether it’s your parents’ brother, a friend’s dad, your girlfriend’s dad, a family friend, your mom’s cousin’s husband, etc. – is an uncle. That being said, I have tons of them.

Are the majority of the people in your household male? No. We’re five in the family and with my dad gone most of the time, it’s the three of us girls and my brother.

Facebook

How many times a day do you log on? Several times. All work updates are carried out there so I have to check it hourly or so. Using actual applications catering to work feels too unfamiliar for us to use; in the Philippines, it has always been Facebook.

What kind of applications do you prefer (i.e., games, trivia, gifts, etc.)? I just use Messenger. While we use Facebook for virtually everything, I’m generally not a fan of the culture there.

Do you like to ‘poke’ people a lot, or is that just annoying? I never did that when it was popular.

Who do you talk to the most on there? My executive board in my organization.

Do you join many groups? No. I joined hundreds of irrelevant groups when I first joined at 14, but I’ve since removed myself from those. I’m a member of a handful that cater to my interests, like Dogspotting for dogs and a lot of local ones like What’s your ulam pare? for people who wanna share what they’re eating for the day haha.

How many friends do you have? Like 480 if I’m not mistaken.

Is Facebook better than MySpace? I never really got to be a part of ~the Myspace experience~ honestly. I made an account but 1) I was too young, and 2) Myspace was beginning to phase out by then. I wouldn’t say Facebook is better; it’s just that I’ve used it more than Myspace.

Cooking

Would you say you’re a good cook? Nope. I did ask my grandmother, who’s an amazing cook, to pass on her recipes to me eventually because while I’m really bad in the kitchen, I really really want to learn.

Was macaroni and cheese the first thing you remember making on the stove? I think it may have been scrambled eggs, since it’s the first meal my dad ever taught me.

Have you ever cooked an entire meal for someone/a group of people? No :( I want to in the future though. I’m always the ‘mom’ in all of my friend groups so might as well push it to the limit.

Who cooks more, your mom or your dad? My dad is a chef, so there’s your answer.

Do you have any recipes that have been in your family for a while? I guess. It just sucks because cooking seems to skip generations and just affects select people lmao. Like my grandma has a bunch of original recipes, but so far, no one has learned how to cook any of them. I don’t want to lose her recipes so I made sure to be the first one to ask for my grandma’s recipe box.

When was the last time you cooked at someone else’s house? We baked cookies at Angela’s house, but that was nearly a year ago.

Musical Instrument

What instrument do you play? We had to learn the recorder from fourth grade. I’ve also had a fantasy of learning how to play the piano so I ‘know’ how to play a few melodies but only with one hand at a time haha.

How long have you been playing it? I’ve known how to use the recorder for ~10 years. I ‘taught’ myself how to play songs on the piano starting when I was 18, so that makes it three years.

Did you take lessons, or are you self-taught? We were taught the recorder in music class for several years in elementary. As for the piano, I just used YouTube videos to analyze the keys that were being pressed and just memorized them so I can play my favorite tunes. I don’t actually know what I’m pressing, or how the notes work, or if I’m using my fingers correctly hahahahaha.

What is the latest song you’ve played on it? I don’t remember; I haven’t fooled around on the piano in a while.

Would you say you’re advanced, or do you have a lot to learn? I have sooooooo much to learn when it comes to THE piano. I know nothing about it AT all; I’m just pressing keys here and there and that’s only because I’ve memorized what to press from YouTube tutorials.

He taught me that those who suffer from bipolarity should avoid anti-depressants; they ramp up your bipolar symptoms. Instead, mood stabilizers are favorable. And what do you know, after I was prescribed a stabilizer and a catalyst for that medication, my depression decreased dramatically and became handleable. Have you ever starved yourself? Kinda.
