diavolo 🌠 !
The day that Diavolo fell in love it was raining.
The morning had begun gray, a slow drizzle, but by mid-day it had crashed into a proper storm. Barbatos had been caught several times staring out the window, watching the wind tear through the gardens and the water create rivers over the pathways. Diavolo had asked the demon if he was worried for his flowers, but Barbatos had only give him a thin smile and offered him a fresh pot of tea.
Eventually the prince made his way back to his office to continue working through the stack of his father’s paperwork. No. His paperwork. He was still adjusting to thinking of it that way, to taking ownership over the decisions he made every day. No longer would he have his father’s shadow to fall back on. No longer would he have his father’s shadow oppressing him.
While Diavolo mused over those two thoughts, the storm continued. It seemed like it was demanding something from him, he thought with mild amusement, like it wanted his attention.
“Not now, storm, Barbatos will scold me if I don’t get these finished,” he tried to jest aloud, but his voice fell flat in the empty room. And anyway, his butler was far too distracted today to pay him much thought.
‘Perhaps,’ Diavolo then thought, setting down his pen and giving a stretch, ‘A walk will do me some good.’
And so on the day that Diavolo fell in love he went on a walk in the rain.
Of course, he took an umbrella. He wasn’t a barbarian. Still, it made him feel a bit wild to be strolling through the castle grounds in the rain. His father would never have allowed such behavior, and Diavolo suspected Barbatos might have something to say if he was caught as well. But for now, he was as free as a prince could get in his gilded cage.
“Well, here I am, storm,” he said pleasantly, smiling when a rumble of thunder answered him, “Yes, thank you, I must agree.” He chuckled to himself, shaking his head. Perhaps he was a bit lonely, he had to admit. Demon princes probably shouldn’t be talking to themselves in the rain.
He was about to turn around and return inside with a sudden light caught his eyes. Anticipating a score of lightning, Diavolo stopped and lifted his eyes to the boiling clouds in the sky. There, tearing across the grey, was not lightning but a shooting star.
A chill ran down Diavolo’s spine, a feeling he felt rarely enough to note it. A shooting star midday?
He had better make a very special wish.

Hi!
I'm having Kara feels again! Does she also consider Henry to be her hatchling?
Also, no thoughts just Aiden babysitting Ákos... (they're so cute, I love them)
What do you think Aiden would do with an Ákos who doesn't want to go to sleep?
I mean, I don't think this would happen often, because Ákos is always trying to be helpful and 80% of the time that means doing what is asked of him (the other 20% is doing something he probably shouldn't). Also, his parents only allow him to go with Endre to the fae realm if he behaves.
Plus, Ákos really likes Aiden so he'd be extra good for him.
But you know sometimes when a kid is clearly tired but they had an exciting day and they don't want to sleep? And since they're tired they're just more stubborn?
How would Aiden handle that? (Adél, like with most things with Ákos, either words things so they sound like by doing it Ákos will help her, or... like: "no, I'm not trying to get you to sleep! We will just cuddle! How does that sound?" I think Aiden can also try these if he doesn't have other ideasXD)
Alternatively, what would Aiden do if Ákos is scared to go to sleep because of nightmares?
Hello! Kara feels are always very much welcome on this blog <3
Actually, it’s more like Kara considers herself as Henry’s hatchling xD well not exactly, but he’s the one who nursed her back to health and just like crows do with their parents (or so I’ve read once), she comes back to visit Henry time and time again.
She trusts him a lot. She’s also protective of him, but she’s more protective of Aiden cause like you said, she very much considers that boy her hatchling xD
Ákos is once again so cute omg
You see, Aiden has not a single strict bone in his body, so he’s not really the type to desperately try to get a kid to sleep if it doesn’t want to.
I think he’d either let Ákos run himself tired eventually (and carry him to bed if needed) or he’d try and sit down with him and tell him stories (that Henry taught him probably, or just his own adventures) until he falls asleep. Oh also I think he’d make him a tea or hot milk with honey to calm him down, if Ákos likes that, that is.
If the kid had a nightmare he’d probably tell him a story too, cause that’s what Henry always did for him (this and cuddling and sometimes humming their lullaby) so it is all he knows to do.

2023 Fanfic wrap up
Thanks for the tag bestie @bold-and-nosy
1. how many stories did you post?
11 big ol smackaroos
2. Which ones were your favorites?
Mac+Stranger-Jack, Temporary+Temperature-Rocket, and Lake+Family+Floaty. There’s just something about writing other people seeing how Mac and Jack interact and then themselves having to interact with them that just gets to me
3. Which one was the most satisfying to write?
Fever+Delirium-Zombies. The idea of basing a fic with any fandom off my near dying state of being sick had been on my mind for so long and finally being able to put it into words was just Good Food
4. The most difficult?
This secret santa one I’m struggling with Missing+Home+Promise. It started out so nice and easy, then my muse abandoned me in the middle and it took so much to finally finish it
5. Recommend something you’re proud of
Mac+Home+Jack. We never got a canon Jack meets the Bozers and I haven’t seen many fics with that premise so I’m happy to have contributed to it
6. Wow us with whatever big thing you might want to work on next!
Wouldn’t you like to know, weather boy- aka Mac vs. Mother Nature as explained in this post
Also another different first meeting (series?) where Mac finished college and was recruited to DXS and Jack is assigned his bodyguard because Mac doesn’t realize how important he is or how many people actually want him dead and I’m very excited to start working on it
Other than that, I’ve several Army Days fics hiding in the shadows that will get done at some point
And an ao3 link for your consideration

One thing I do love about Immortals After Dark (and why I really do recommend reading it in order if possible) is that there are multiple arcs, an overarching plot (the upcoming apocalypse and Nix's efforts to control it by making all these immortals super grateful to her for hooking them up with their partners + the inevitable army of hybrid babies down the road lmao), and an HEA nonetheless for every couple?
Like yeah I'm sure Lothaire and Ellie are gonna run into some issues with La Dorada, I know Garreth and Lucia and all them werewolves are gonna be out fighting with the best of 'em in the Accession, I know Rydstrom and Sabine still owe Lothaire -> now Dorada a big favor that is probably bad, but at the end of the day, they'll figure it the fuck out and shit will be resolved in a harrowing but ultimately happy climax (haha) if Kresley ever finishes these books because it is romance and I am guaranteed that.
It's so nice.
