Every single time I watch a dst let’s play it’s always like “oh, I’m gonna play as Wilson because he’s average and boring and stuff-“ NO you guys don’t get him like I get him! I just saw someone on Goodreads refer to Gambit as everybody's least favorite member of the X-Men and now I'm insulted how dare you. Like is the everybody in the room with us?? Nope thats just you who dosent like him.

I saw a post about how various fictional characters would vote, and I feel the need to use my soapbox to fight back against its assertion that Homer Simpson would be a Trump voter. Homer is *two* different characters and his political affiliations cannot be reduced thusly.

Let me explain. There are two Homers: original Homer and modern Homer.

The Homer from the earlier seasons of the show would simply not support Trump in 2024. He was an easily-duped fool with a foul temper, but ultimately a loving man who was quick to correct his misconceptions and bigotries. Classic Homer was a union member, a friend to immigrants, and even sometimes bumbled into being environmentally conscious. He might be bamboozled into voting for Trump in 2016, but by 2024, Classic Homer would not be fooled.

Modern Homer (whose birth I date to somewhere around the start of the Iraq War), due to the show going on forever and wanting to compete with South Park and Family Guy, is a jerkass and a lout, who puts his own interests above his family and friends. Modern Homer would have been arrested for storming the capitol on January 6.

That concludes my unwanted ramble on the political leanings of the good man Homer and the scoundrel Simpson.
