when people refer to canon story-relevant kingdom hearts games as ‘spinoffs’ it makes me sad not only for the obvious reasons i always say but also bc like man i WISH this series had spinoffs. imagine what they could do if they had permission from nomura to truly go off the rails and ignore the greater canon for a second and just do some fun whimsical plotless thing in an alternate universe. imagine a fishing/boating game on destiny islands. kh fighting game. it is an injustice that we have been deprived of kingdom karts. can anyone hear me

#in terms of alternate gameplay and lack of reliance on plot #i feel like melody of memory is the closest thing kh has actually had to a spinoff #but even that is important in its own way in the end #union cross to a certain degree as well what with being an online multiplayer gacha type game #its original concept i would definitely classify as a spinoff game #bc it was set in a totally different world and time period and was supposed to be about customization and fun with friends #and nomura or someone said it wasn’t meant to be connected to the plot #but then like. he did very much go and give it a plot. like he went back on that almost immediately #and even then. given that the game is still very much combat and exploration #even from the beginning can it really be called a spinoff? it’s just kh in a different format #i’m talking like a game in which the objective is something totally different.#racing game or cooking game or fighting game or (another) rhythm game #ace attorney style detective game. dancing game. dude i don’t know #there are so many different flavors they could go with here #alas nomura is allergic to genuine whimsy which is hilarious given that this is a disney series #like he apparently was like ‘ohhh should we really let sora in smash? would it make sense in the story?’#my brother in christ surely we’re not supposed to interpret this as canon to kh right? right????#i guess it’s just that the kh franchise has a very specific pristine vibe he wants to maintain #which is disney shenanigans as a seasoning on top of a main dish of Stone Cold Serious Anime Plot #kingdom hearts #kh #mine: kh

Just went to a great concert!

#my random stuff #I’m still mostly staying off main.#But this is something I’d usually mention on main.#This woman was so much of my childhood and I got to see her live.#The music and lighting were incredible!#Plus the guy who accompanied her!#Also we’re driving down the highway and fireworks just went off!#She was incredible and had so much energy and positivity and she’s so cool.#I looked her up before the concert and she’s cooler than I knew like wow #Crowd was fun to watch cuz they kept getting flagged by security and ended up all dancing later #I had a nice night.

there were like at Least 50+ ppl at the party and i got a bunch of compliments on my outfit and someone i had just met cupped my face and said i was precious and i got lots of hugs and kisses :) :) :)

#it was a friend's birthday and it was so fun. one of my exes who's still a good friend of mine was DJing #and the garage was always packed full of ppl just chilling and smoking weed and listening to music #they had a room with arcade cabinets and i played ddr for like half an hour #and at one point a bunch of us went outside to watch someone fire dance while another person swung around in a metal ring. swing ?#while wearing a very skimpy outfit and a tail buttplug in her ass lmao #got to hang out with a bunch of ppl i've known for like 15-16 years and met a bunch of new ppl too

I get why people like the whole queer existence is resistance thing. I don't personally, because I think it puts a tonne of intracommunity pressure to exist in the 'right' way, I.e. the way that is 'radical' to the person currently scrutinising you. As a person with OCD that manifests in self scrutiny that I have to constantly concentrate on to avoid it becoming self hatred, I'm never going to be a fan of that. I kind of feel this way about any kind of assimilation conversation with regards to queerness really. I think it's an important conversation within irl communities who already care for each other- who shows up for others outside of their own interests and who doesn't, etc. But the internet makes things so impersonal and cold. It encourages people to make very serious snap judgements about others who they don't even know, and to encourage others to believe that about them. None of these people are in community together in any meaningful sense, or they wouldn't treat each other so ungenerously.

Anyway I had a bit of a realisation earlier- I think we have to tell ourselves our existence is inherently radical all the time because we're always getting the subtle message from our community and the wider activism community that having a good time or enjoying yourself is somehow bad, or insulting to people in dire straits. But instead of challenging that idea we say no it's OK because I'm doing activism simply by being here. I think it's fine to feel that way and in many ways existing as a marginalised person really is radical. I just want to make sure we aren't internalising the idea that we can't ever be happy or having a fun frivolous time without justifying it, and passing that idea along to others without meaning to.

#as radio 1 used to say: you only get one life- love it #i try and tell myself that when i get bogged down in the 'my misery is activism somehow' thinking #that so many people on here reinforce #i feel the 'pride is a protest' conversation constantly turns into this #because while pride's origin is in protest on the anniversary of the stonewall riot #most prides now are parties with a march and some information stalls #and...that's fine! If people have fun at it!#not everyone finds pride fun obvs its usually boiling very overwhelming and loud #ive had some shit times at pride but had a blast at my last one #it was post coming out as trans and I'd just started drinking more regularly #after abstaining for my meds for so long #i went alone had some drinks and a dance and went home #loved it best day ever #anyway the idea that in order to do activism you have to constantly disrupt #bring your 'queer liberation not rainbow capitalism' sign #i dunno...i dont think anyone really likes rainbow capitalism but the sponsers keep entry free #thats the case at my main one anyway #i struggle because i only just started having fun a bit more and enjoying things #i hate being hit with the message of 'actually this fun time is wrong '#even in the most subtle ways- but maybe im oversensitive #i will say that if misery is activism ive more than paid my dues #why do they think people wanted to get into stonewall inn anyway???#eta- i know not all prides are free and the ones that aren't still have corporate sponsors #i just don't feel it ruins pride personally #it's mildly annoying and that's all #eta: i put activism instead of capitalism in the slogan in the tags for some reason

Just took the best post concert shower of my life

#I am fixed #I was fucking pouring sweat down my face and body it was awful but so fun and like I had ppl I knew there but we didn’t interact that much #so it wasn’t like. anxiety inducing being alone or anxiety inducing having to talk to people who will talk to me again #I sang my fucking heart out danced so hard I’m so glad I went even tho I’m exhausted cause I drove like five and half hours today and had a #big anxious doctors appointment and my mom drove another hour and a half with me in the car this morning so I was in the car for seven hours #today 😭😭😭 and running on three hours of sleep 🫡#I’m just glad I made it home fully awake I love you eating ice cubes from the gas station #also when I was picking up my ice cup I saw a cat outside i love you Florida street cats
