I think what a lot of j&h adaptations get wrong, is that ultimately, Jekyll is, at heart. A Cunt. Lots of adaptations like to write him as an innocent scientist, who got more than he bargained for when he drank the potion, and unleashed a monster, but in the novella, the only thing the potion really does, is change Jekyll's appearance. He created Hyde, and I think he had the opportunity to make Hyde into something good, but, because he's a cunt, he chose to use his alter ego as a force for evil and chaos. "Edward Hyde was alone in the ranks of evil"- of course he was, you never allowed him to be anything else. And Jekyll is fully aware of what he does as Hyde, he says it himself in his full statement, and he feels no remorse. He didn't create Hyde accidentally, he made Hyde because he wanted to do bad things and get away with it, without damaging his reputation.

A half-serious, half-fun character sheet for modern/cop!Arthur. I had so much fun making it! Thank you so much, everyone, for all your headcanons! I keep all of them in mind while writing and building his modern self for the fic 😏 (also please if you're reading this and have your own headcanons for this AU, I'd be delighted to hear them, don't hesitate to reach out!) I added a ton of hidden details that will eventually make sense as we navigate through the story!

(Trying to guess his height and weight was so hard 🫠 after a few hours spent on forums I came up with that, keeping in mind that this is modern times, so people have grown taller. Also, muscles weigh a lot. He's not a small boah.)

Weaknesses: can be stubborn, uncooperative, sarcastic. Has a cigarette addiction and tends to drink when times are dark.

I just found this in my drafts from WAY BACK when I was first noticing loads of the mirroring moments in Lone Star and since the new season begins airing this week (not that I’m gonna be able to watch it, being in the uk where Disney + won’t put it on until well after… I’m gonna have to avoid so much stuff… 😒) i thought I’d just post it, because it’s these little connective moments that I love and appreciate so much in storytelling… and one of the reasons why 911: Lone Star will always remain a standout show…

i had forgotten how fun swingsets are. man, THIS is how i like to connect with my theriotype. i really feel like an owl in that moment where i swoop down and lean back, then up again when i turn my face to the stars. that’s what makes me feel right. it sounds stupid, and a lot of people would think i’m absolutely batshit crazy, but wow. just wow. i’ve always loved that feeling of weightlessness when i drop. the feeling of flying and the wind blowing in my face. ♾️/10 will absolutely do whenever i get the chance (plus its a pretty good workout too lmao)

This is the Modern!Au fic, where Arthur will be a disgruntled cop struggling on a difficult case, and the Reader the owner of a super cozy coffee shop a few feet from his police station. As you might imagine, Arthur's days will get brighter as he frequents the café more and more...

Oh yeah, and another thing that is settled too, the story will take place in Montana!
