Do any of your pairings have any special plans for Halloween 👀?
Why yes they do! And here they are in no particular order...
Tumblr media
Ari "Beast" Levinson & Bird: Sweet Renegade Series Bird is hosting a special little Halloween event at Baubles & Quills in the evening before heading home to pass out candy. She's already got her costume picked out and is super excited to be going as a Pink Lady from Grease.
Bird is also trying to convince Ari to dress up too, although he's not too keen on the idea. But she isn't ready to give up yet. Our sassy southern belle is determined to change his mind.
Tumblr media
Andy Barber & Baby Girl: Growing Pains Series
This year, the Barber's family costume was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Andy is going as the Mad Hatter, with Baby Girl as Alice.
Meanwhile, the kids got to choose which character they wanted to be, as long as they stuck with the Alice in Wonderland theme. Little BiBi is very excited to dress up as The Red Queen, while KitCat really wanted to be the Cheshire Cat. Both girls are also helping their Mama make their own costumes this year.
As for the three-year-old twins, sweet A.J. is going as the March Hare and darling Rory is set to be the most adorable Caterpillar ever.
And here's some really cool news, the Barbers are set to debut their costume a few days before Halloween at a special bash hosted by the Governor.
Tumblr media
The Trio Gals: Trio Series This year, our favorite brats are going as their version of the famed Charlie's Angels. Right now, they've almost convinced each of their respective Daddies to go as a group of criminals whose evil plot was foiled before they were taken into custody.
Mostly because those girls are looking for any excuse to put Andy, Curtis, and Ari in cuffs.
And that's it. Those are their plans. Those restraints are coming out with or without a Halloween Party. That's part of what makes those brats so scary.

God to be a male Quarian getting hit on by femshep, should’ve been me, anyway looked him up and apparently he was based on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, specifically a combo of the two, and considering they both die at the end his ending probably wouldn’t have been too happy. He was also described as a boisterous ladies man, so I guess that’s why he gets excited when someone actually likes him. You wouldn’t have been able to romance him if you were too renegade for him and his goal was to prove that the Geth are now less of a threat. His introduction seems to have been given to Garrus considering they’re similar (shootout with criminals on Omega) maybe Garrus wasn’t gonna return before they cut him?
Also random fact I came across Garrus is 2-4 years younger than Shepard
By the way how is Miranda in your ME3 playthrough?
Glad to know we all collectively are down bad for femshep in here. Oh, to be a barracks bunny for the femdom lieutenant commander, a person could only dream.
Like it doesn't even have to he a full romance or anything, just being Shepard's squeeze toy whenever she's too fed up with this demandinh world outside, and instead would rather spend time with you in this soft bed inside. She'd be absolutely relentless and insatiable, I don't think her libido is ever sated tbh, a lot of times it is the other person insisting that she waits to sleep with them rather than the other way around.
Hell Shepard seems down for it 24/7. You'd get some bullshit job on the Normandy but will spend 90% of your time on her personal deck. The second she boards the ship after a mission, she's requesting your presence upstairs in her qaurters to...debrief you on the aftermisison report, nothing else. Mhm.
I'm just saying I am a simple person and I would put out on the first ever conversation femshep has with me, no renegade or paragon pointchecks. No required time to romance me, and not even locked by a certian level or plot checkpoint. If a woman like her tells me to shut up and bend over after five minutes of meeting me then you know that's exactly what I'd be doing.
Anyway, so back to the main topic.
Miranda is doing well! I saved her sister in ME2 but didn't let her shoot her bestfriend, then I encouraged her to speak to her sister. I took her to the final mission in facing the human reaper and she told the illusive man that she quits after he threw a hissy fit over me destroying the reaper.
In ME3, she asked for some documents from the alliance and I gave it to her. Then I met her again during the Kai Leng chase and she killed her father and saved her sister. Miranda is dandy as far as I'm aware.
-
And I can't stop thinking about the male Quarian. Ugh. Imagine someone who knows he can't have sex with people but still is a relentless flirt with the ladies, like the clear cardboard faux playboy badge he wears is so pathetic and adorable.
It's like he is using the Johnny Bravo method of hitting on every woman he sees, and eventually, one of them has gotta bite, right?
So for someone like him not to only have his "incel mimicking a chad" strategy work but also hit the jackpot and get the commander Shepard? Hallelujah! Ring the bells! Call your mom and tell her you've fucking made it Ma!!
Because Shepard too can be a bit of a playboy at times, except with the game protagonist logic, we get to be the successful one with the smoothest flirting lines. Now you have two people interested in each other, with one that's an embarrassingly terrible flirt and another who people would pay to sleep with them.
Personally, I really like that he is on the side of the Geth because Tali starts off being hostile to them, and it would've made a perfect chance to view both sides.
His dynamic with Tali would've been very interesting, two people with similar backgrounds and experiences who came to two totally different conclusions on how to handle to the Geth.
Because it is so easy for paragon Shepard to side with the Geth. Like of course you feel sympathy for them, you're human. It wasn't earth they stole from you.
Imagine it. Imagine the outrage if some random species you made steals earth from us and we are forced to move onto fleets. I would've fucking gone full renegade and demanded my planet back immediately.
But because we are just outsiders on the geth problem, we can't relate or have a clear perspective on how the qaurians must feel. We only get to see the most hostile of them and the hate towards the geth. That other admiral was the cloeest thing to a pro-geth quarian but even he was an annoying character who antagonises you and Tali as his introduction in the ME2 loyality mission.
So the male quarian love interest being sympathetic towards the geth would've filled a perfectly empty spot we were missing for the full picture of the geth quarian relationship.
Samara has a similar thing in ME2, where if you're too renegade, she doesn't indulge you in the romance attempt and immediately shuts it off. But if you have very little renegade points then she says your heart is pure and indulges you more, let's you try and convince her and it's so clear she is struggling not to give into the temptation before leaving the room.
The Quarian kink is so real, now I understand why you like Tali so much oh god. Someone willing to experience sickness just to fuck you? Damn that is some determination.

#THE DISCOGRAPHY
I. RUNAWAY
Tumblr media
ABOUT:
RUNAWAY is MIDNIGHT RENEGADES' debut EP, released on February 19th. The album was released physically and digitally and contained 5 tracks including title track Without U. Without U and 널 좋아해 (english title: really) were the promoted singles. Though neither received a win, they were loved and enjoyed by fans. They posted behind the scenes content, as well as covers, on their YouTube channel and many of the members enjoyed doing video lives as well.
Tracklist:
1. WITHOUT U*
youtube
2. forever young
youtube
3. 널 좋아해 (english title: really)
youtube
4. never alone
youtube
5. tell me!
youtube
Music Video:
Tumblr media
The music video has a casual yet cool aesthetic as the members have fun in the city - BK skateboards, Yuze bikes, Hakkun draws with sidewalk chalk, Chiro plays his guitar out on a balcony, c.hae is busy painting pretty things he sees in his surroundings. These images are mixed with pictures of the group having fun and laughing together, illustrating the group's close bond with each other, and clips of the members dancing the song's choreography.
The Styling:
• similar to Stray Kids' I Am You and Ateez's wave, the styling is comfortable yet cute.
• it's not overly colorful, though blue jeans are a staple.
• BK and Yuze both have blonde hair, Hakkun blue, Chiro black, and c.hae red.
The Era:
• the group's fandom name, NORTH STARS, was revealed soon after debut. The name came from Lost Stars guiding Renegades as the fans and members guide and help each other. Just as the North Star is a highly important guide for runaways, the fans are a highly important love for the members.
• Without U and Really were loved by many kpop stans, but the favorite among North Stars was "tell me!" due to it's cute sound and lyrics. The group made a self filmed MV to the song of them in their dorm, which North Stars found quite adorable.
• fans loved the group's bright, casual, and fun concept, especially as it is uncommon in the industry often.

The premise behind this was a little thought that refused to leave me alone.
It's confirmed Dyson's "repaired" by Clu, and the rest of Tron's five-man squad (including in that count Tron and Dyson) are rectified.
It's never actually confirmed one way or the other HOW Dyson was repaired.
What if Dyson was rectified too?
....and then I wound up with a lot of feels, a drawing, and the bones of a fic. So. Here you go.
Tron hears Clu's taunts. Sees Dyson's wicked grin (red circuits, no grievous wound, some part of him's glad Dyson's okay but he's also worried because red circuits in his experience never mean anything good and last he knew Dyson's were still white and blue). He passes out (Flynn got away, he did his job as much as he could, the rest is up to the User).
He wakes, and sees the rest of his team attacked. Caged. Reprogrammed.
Things start making a sickening sort of sense.
It doesn't click until he sees how... sloppy Dyson's being. The torture hurts. The face of a friend (of his Dyson, his Lucky Dice-) twisted into a rictus grin he can only barely recognize hurts more. But something's not right, and Tron notices.
The restraints are too loose. The hand that holds the scalpel- the saw- the implement of the moment shakes. The expressions don't fit.
This is not his Dyson. This is someone else wearing Dyson's face and using his name.
This is a creature like the ones that now inhabit Reeve and Clax and Nord, shells of their former selves, but so much worse because Dyson - Lucky Dice, luck finally, horrifically, run out - is still in there.
He wants to escape, to take Dyson with him.
He never gets the chance. Not then, at least.
The transport explodes, almost takes Tron with it, and as much as he likes Cyrus he's not the snappy sassy little SIC Tron wants at his side.
Something goes wrong with Cyrus (a virus, something Tron can't fight, Dyson could but Dyson's not here-) and he regretfully has to seal Cy away. He doesn't want to, makes a promise to find a way to help Cyrus, so Cy can come home again.
Every avenue he tries fails. Tron... loses hope. What good is a hero, a Monitor, if he can't even help those closest to him?
And then a beta crashes into his life.
The kid is young. Reckless. An outright menace at the best of times.
He's snarky and sarcastic and not afraid to get right up in Tron's face and push back - even when Tron wishes he wouldn't.
He's a teenage Dyson, to borrow one of Flynn's many strange phrases.
Tron has to keep Dyson's name behind his teeth far too often. It would be an insult to both him and the kid - Beck, the scrappy Mechanic gives his name as, like it's a challenge - when they're two different people no matter how similar they are.
For the first time, the Renegade title has a proper successor (Dyson was his first, no matter what the twisted shadow of Cyrus says, and Tron tells Beck as such late one millicycle. Beck never feels the vicious jealousy and betrayal that should come with knowing he is not the first, because Tron tells him everything about his predecessors and highlights how different they all are - how Beck could never be a stand in, that he's earned the title and made it his own).
Tron allows himself to hope again.
Dyson corners him.
Or maybe he corners Dyson.
It's all blurry. He'll be concerned about that later.
But Beck is hurt, and Dyson is right there-
Tron just. Takes them both.
It takes more than he'd like to admit to subdue Dyson. Tron's scars have never burned the way they do right now, he's never been so exhausted as he is carrying one injured beta (his fault, he finds out later, and he's horrified) and one hacked, unconscious, adored little gremlin Program.
But he gets them home.
Beck goes straight into the healing chamber. He needs it more, Tron's own wounds will keep.
He doesn't even know where to start with Dyson.
His Lucky Dice's code is a mess.
Tron sighs, settles, and gets to work.
He can't save Reeve or Clax or Nord. Doesn't even know if they're still online, let alone where they'd be if they are.
But he can save Dyson. One Program.
It's a start.
Dyson wakes with a bitten off scream, and Tron abandons editing Dyson's disc in favour of hugging the frightened Monitor. He saves what he's done and re-docks the disc, and the vicious orange-red in Dyson's circuits retreats, leaving familiar white-blue in its wake.
He doesn't know who starts crying first - probably Dyson, but they're both crying within nanos of each other anyway.
Tron lies awake long after Dyson cries himself into recharge, curled around the (small, Dyson's tiny, and he only seems to have gotten smaller after Clu tortured him and Tron didn't know-) other Monitor. He makes a promise to the sleeping forms in his hideout, one wounded within and coiled up with him, one contained in a room that can't be found by someone who doesn't already know where it is, and the other still healing and dormant in the chamber.
Tron will see the Grid burn before anyone lays a hand on his Renegades again.
*
*
*
Years later (hundreds of cycles, his own code and circuits struggling against the orange and Clu threatening to consume him-), Tron keeps his promise.
The Occupation burns, and with it the oppression and horror it brought.
Three Renegades watch on, mourning the Program that taught and led and loved them, and promise his memory and each other they'll keep his name, symbol, and legacy alive.

An innocuous glitch.
Inconsistencies that make it clear that a supposed 'one day task' is going to take longer.
The animatronics being more aggressive than usual.
The writing's on the wall: Fazbear Entertainment has a plan; one that seems to aim to turn a contractors maintenance firm into a testing ground for something sinister whilst seizing control over Ness's mind to make her into Vanny.
But sometimes all you need to do to throw a spanner into the works and delay such sinister schemes is to take a hit for a friend so you both can survive. That way, you can delay the inevitable enough for everyone to survive.
=°•.🌹 Story 🌹.•°=
Bit of a heads up, the story describes the response to the wound more than the wound itself, so it feels gorey with very little mention of blood and bone.
°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•🌹•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°
"Take it your date went well." Anna tapped away at her keyboard as she spoke to Luis, seldom making eye contact as she formulated another email to Fazbear Entertainment's 'Fazbear Funtime delivery Service'.
"Wait, date?" Luis found himself flustered on the spot.
"Your fifth date. Ness was gushing about it all morning." Anna shot Luis her usual side-eye, "Am I wrong about it being a date?"
"I guess they were dates, hu. It just felt too natural for me to think of it like that." Luis paused for a moment. He had been dating Ness for about a month and a bit now, and whilst yeah, the first time they went out for a coffee was a date, every time after the second just felt too natural, too normal. Does everything a boyfriend and girlfriend do together have to be classed as a date? "I... I'm not the brightest, am I?"
Anna's palm moved to cover her face - she was either having another optical migraine or was ticked off to the eleventh degree. "Couldn't have said it better myself."
Definitely ticked off.
"It was a great date. Dan wasn't kidding when he said that Ness REALLY likes me." Luis felt his face get warmer and warmer the more he spoke, "Every time I think she can't be more head-over-heels, she surprises me. First date, she grabbed my hands - it was kind of intimidating with how strong she is, but it was also really cute - and second date, she almost broke my ribs hugging me. The others were the same, but yesterday, ..."
Luis didn't know if he should finish that sentence, but Anna stared him down.
"She's already told me everything. There is nothing you can say I don't already know."
Luis's body found a way to be even more flustered than before. "She.... She kissed me... - on the cheek! She's so adorable!"
Anna rolled her eyes and sighed, "both of you are such dorks. Also Raha owes me and Mark ten. Now, any updates on anything?"
Luis was embarrassed, both about how flustered he was, and that there was a betting pool regarding his romantic life. He didn't exactly want to know the specifics of the bet, but he could guess.
"No, not really. Everything seems to be going fine. I'll probably help Steve with whatever he's doing. I'm all up to date on my tasks, and if something goes wrong, my computer will keep a record of everything."
"Sounds good. We've got three batches of boards to scan in. As a whole, it should take a few days if you're quick." Anna nodded, "I'll be dealing with the bear and helping Dan repair that robot that just came in so he doesn't have to nag Raha for the drill every ten minutes. Also some of those boards are already in the robots they sent us, so don't be surprised when Dan dumps a few more boards on you."
Scanning the boards was hard.
Deciphering the codes was harder.
The boards were uncooperative, refusing to connect, pretending that themselves or the computer they were connected to didn't exist.
Much like Fazbear Entertainment itself.
The code was worse. Way worse. Illegible and unintelligible, there was not a single peice of code that looked like actual words. The screen was a swathe of letters and numbers, as if everything on the boards was encrypted. But what use was encrypted code when it was sent to 'help expedite the process of building animatronics'? What use was it if they didn't know what it was or what it did?
Ness helped sort the boards both before and after they were scanned, Steve was operating the scanning software, and Luis was attaching the boards and sorting what came off them into folders, like what Ness was doing, but the digital version.
"You know, you two really click." Steve said as he scanned in a board sorted to the 'Classics' pile, "this one's classic Foxy."
"Thanks!" Ness said as her response to both the compliment on her relationship, and being passed the scanned in board. "I don't know what it is, but he's like an angel."
"Thanks." Luis tried to hide his reddened face with his jacket, but just looked really awkward in the process.
Ness giggled a little, but stopped when she heard footsteps.
"I've got more chips." Dan had walked into the room and seemed to have elected to ignore Luis being red as a beetroot, tangled in his jacket. He then turned to Ness, seeing as she was near the piles of chips. "Where do I put them?"
"On the desk next to Steve. Best we keep them away from the others." Ness replied, looking a little flushed.
"Guess I'll do these next then." Steve stated as he picked up a chip from the small pile Dan had brought in. "Better that than forgetting them."
Luis nodded, or at least seemed like he was nodding as he untangled himself from his jacket before he begun to get the board connected to the computer. Hardware was more his strong suit than Steve's, and Steve was the only one who understood the on-computer component of scanning the boards in, so this was probably the most efficient way to work.
After getting all the boards Dan sent thier way scanned in and most of the boxed boards done, Luis felt like something was wrong, so he excused himself to check on the server status.
A cold chill spiked in his chest, ran down his spine, and settled as a pit in his stomach as he saw that something was indeed wrong with the system.
A glitch, only small, but noticeable. Files that had moved on their own, and some bugged out text.
He blinked, and the issues seemed to right themselves, as if it knew somehow that it was being watched.
Whilst he hoped that it was a visual bug, he knew that something else was up.
Nothing was ever simple.
After taking a deep breath, he headed back to where Steve had been working, but as he saw that Steve was walking towards storage, looking rather exhausted, he followed.
"What do you need from storage?" Luis asked, trying to start a conversation, feeling that something was not right.
"Just... something to scan the larger chips. Then I'll get something for this headache." He replied.
"You look knackered." Luis told Steve, not as a boss, but as a friend. Hierarchy wasn't something he did, at all really: all being the co-owner of this place meant was that he did a lot of paperwork sometimes on top of his normal job. "I'll carry it for you when you find it. I don't want you getting hurt."
"Thanks." Steve smiled as the two of them walked into the storage room.
As they entered, something felt wrong. The air felt thin, but not stale. An eerie feeling crept over the two of them as they noticed a Foxy animatronic walking about.
It shouldn't be doing that.
The servers Luis maintained kept a list of every robot and thier status', as well as everything else they held, and as a part of his job as the systems and server admin he checked this data regularly, and this Foxy was not on-call.
And it hadn't been for a while.
The robot then stopped.
And looked at them.
Metal collided with the floor as the fox broke into a sprint, hook raised high, bolting straight towards Steve.
Steve previously had been looking for the thing he had came in here for, but he now stood like a deer in headlights. As Foxy drew closer, Steve stayed deathly still, shaking.
Realising that Steve was not going to move, Luis rammed into Steve himself, using one elbow to barge Steve out of the animatronics path, and his other arm as a futile shield between himself and the robot.
And as Steve stumbled to the side, Luis felt the robot's hook tear through the skin on his arm. He swore down that it had connected with bone, and he wanted to do nothing more than scream and cry, but he had to keep pressing on and get himself and Steve the hell out of here.
Luis could feel himself shake, but that was nothing compared to how Steve was frozen to the spot, shaking like it was minus ten Celsius. He grabbed Steve with his good arm and ran.
He bolted the hell out of storage, blocking the door behind him, and let out an almost deafening shriek for help as he entered the main part of this robotics repairing office.
Luis knew everyone's distinct footsteps as they ran to the room where he was. He had to know so he wouldn't jump when it was just one of them approaching when he was working. Everyone was shocked to see Steve shaking, and Luis bleeding from the arm, and despite his tan, almost as pale as Steve.
"Anna! One of the robots attempted to attack Steve." Luis felt the shake in his own voice, but the adrenaline wouldn't let him crash just yet. "I pushed him out the way, but I got hit instead. Rather me than anyone else though."
"Shit, someone fetch the first aid kit." Anna grimaced as she looked at Luis's arm. "And someone call Dr May. We'll patch him up now so he won't die, and she'll deal with the actual surgery stuff."
"It's just a scratch, I think I'll be ..." Luis couldn't finish his sentence before he collapsed. He could bearly control his breathing, and he felt weak. He was terrified and dizzy. Everything his body stoped him from feeling back in storage was coming through double. He felt sick.
Ness scrambled off and quickly came back with a first aid kit and saline fluid IV bag.
She knelt at Luis's side and quickly attached the IV drip to Luis before she begun to clean his wound.
Luis grimaced as antiseptic stung his wound. His vision was cluttered with patches of darkness, and the added pain of the various antiseptics Ness was using made it worse. That stinging pain made him want to pull his arm away, but he couldn't even muster up the strength for a light tug. Not that it mattered, as Ness's grip on his wrist wasn't one he could escape even if he tried. Not that there was any need.
Seemingly sensing Luis's distress, she shifted herself and Luis so that he was leaning back on her. Whilst it was an awkward angle for her to work from, Luis seemed far less fidgety than before.
Luis just felt like he was about to pass out. He could bearly see, and what he could see was tinted an odd shade. He didn't know if this was the fear kicking in with its delayed reaction, the adrenaline wearing off, or just the pain. But it was probably a mix of the three. He wanted to close his eyes and sleep, but he knew that he'd probably die if he did, so he forced himself to stay awake.
But, he thought to himself, the wound was just a slash to the arm. He'd seen worse. So why was he like this?
Then again, he has never been injured this badly before.
"That's not good." Ness's voice sounded like an echo in Luis's ears, hardly reaching him despite how close she was. "There's either a fragment of bone in this wound or on the floor in storage. And not a small one."
A chunk had been taken out of one of the bones in his arm?
That animatronics slash took a chunk out of his arm, and a bone inside of it.
Foxy took a chunk out of a bone in his arm.
Ok, he definitely made the right decision taking the hit for Steve. He would not have survived that to the chest.
The dizziness got worse. Even though he was on the ground, he felt like his body was balancing on a thin beam above an infinite void below. He tried to say something, but all that came out were pained grunts as he found that he had been clenching his jaw to the point where his teeth hurt.
"As far as I can tell there's nothing in the wound. It's clean, so I'll patch it up." Ness's voice sounded so distant... It was frightening. Luis looked up and she looked directly into his eyes - and she looked exactly like the woman from the hike that went wrong - but she sounded as if she was so far away.
He felt her fairly rough hands move over the wound on his arm, and pinpricks of pain kept him awake. Tiny stab after tiny stab kept him grounded in reality and told him that the wound was being stitched back together, yet with each small jolt of pain, his vision mutated into the same hallucination he had when he woke up after he'd fallen unconscious from falling down a ditch during that hike. The room looked different, far different to the tarpaulin that became a silk canopy. The roof just looked like stone. But Ness? She looked like the same golden clad princess he hallucinated her to be that day.
She had to be the woman he met that day.
But even if he lived, he wouldn't tell her. He didn't remember what she said that day, but he didn't want to chance anything.
He couldn't look around; he was too scared to. As when the hallucination faded, it didn't fade to reality.
It faded to black.
The sound of a woman whose voice he vaugely recalled lead him back to consciousness.
"Easy does it buddy." The bored and clinical tones told him exactly who this was, "you took quite the hit. Lucky I had some blood bags on hand."
As Luis opened his eyes, he saw a pale face with peircing blue eyes framed with long deep black hair glaring back at him.
Dr May.
(Why she preferred her first name was not something he had asked, but he wouldn't ask either.)
"So," May said, "you were out for some time. Your colleagues said that you had passed out just as I got here, and you've been out cold for over an hour. Is this your first time getting injured like this?"
Luis tried to reply, but no coherent words would form no matter how hard he tried. He tried to nod, but it hurt so bad.
"Can you move any of your fingers?" May asked, her tone unchanged.
Luis tried to move his fingers and was surprised when he felt his fingertips drumming on the floor. He still had the use of the hand on his injured arm. The other hand was obviously fine.
"Good. One for yes twice for no." May cleared her throat before speaking again, reiterating her first question. "Is this your first time getting injured this badly?"
Luis tapped one finger once.
"Ok." May nodded, "well, you're pretty damn brave for a first timer."
Luis wanted to reply, but he still couldn't get his voice to create any meaningful sounds.
"I guess that was a thank you." May inferred before continuing, "I've added a blood IV of, to put in layman's terms, the blood type everyone can receive, and Mark found that shard of bone your girlfriend mentioned to me when I got here. It was on the floor in storage. I only had to undo a third of the stitches she put in to fix that for you. Then I patched up the rest of the wound."
Luis felt his face flush red when May referred to Ness as his girlfriend, and there was absolutely nothing he could do to stop it.
"It'll heal, but it'll suck for a while." May stared before she begun to strap the IV bags to Luis's upper arm before moving him into a sitting position.
He then noticed that Ness had remained nearby as when May sat him up, a woman was behind him to hold him in this sitting position, and the only other women here aside from Dr May were Anna and Raha, who were both still in his line of sight.
"Just keep the bags above where it's connected to your arm, and Ness'll remove them when they're empty." May looked at Ness to get her confirmation on the situation, and from the look on the doctor's face, it was likely that Ness was a little shocked, "yes, that does mean either you'll be staying around his place or he'll be staying around yours. But he'll be on the floor here for a while until he starts moving again."
Aside from small motions, Luis didn't have the energy to move. But he did feel that his breathing had steadied out, and he tried talking again. "Okay..." His voice was shaky and quiet, but he could speak again. That was progress.
"So, I'll stay here until I know for a fact that you're stable," May stated, "then I'll head off. Any questions you may have, just say them."
The room was quiet for a while, the only meaningful actions being the IV drips slowly draining thier contents into Luis's arm, and the slight chatter over what to do with the animatronics.
Luis focused on his breathing, as he figured that if he could keep that steady, he'd be ok.
After what felt like hours but was definitely only a handful of minutes, Luis was able to murmur a question.
"Is... Hallucinating when injured normal?"
"No." May's answer was blunt. "People don't usually do that."
"It's happened to me twice... But the first time... I was not as hurt as this... Just... Fell down a ditch and had a rocky landing... Passed out" Luis was bearly able to reply, a little worried now that he knew that what he was going through was not normal.
"I'd take a rolled ankle and some scrapes over that gash any day," Dr May huffed in what Luis assumed was a light-hearted manner. "The same hallucination or a different one."
"The same. And... I'd rather not say what I saw." Luis replied, "just that the first time... I saw it when I was waking up... And this time... I saw it when I was passing out."
He hoped that wasn't too much information. He had been on a few hikes before that fateful day. Ness didn't know how many times before he had fell down a ditch and passed out (even if the answer was zero, but she didn't know that).
"And it only happens when you're injured and teetering between consciousness and unconsciousness?" May questioned further.
"I guess..."
It hadn't happened when they had been snooping around the old HQ, when they were cornered by William and Ness had been ordered to kill him, with the alternative bring that William would strangle him if she declined. She had managed to trick William into thinking that she had complied by beating him unconscious with her bat, and he didn't hallucinate when the bat came down on his head, and he didn't hallucinate when he woke up. So why now?
That day had more in common with what happened in the woods than today did, so why didn't he hallucinate then? But that would be to assume that there was a pattern.
"I see." May nodded, "If this becomes a common occurrence or you find the common factor that sparks these hallucinations, call me. It'll help me with future patients."
Luis nodded and the room went back to saying and doing nothing. Luis still felt weak, but he felt a little better. Not that 'a little better' was hard to achieve in his condition. He moved his legs and tried to stand, but his feet skidded back down before he could even get leverage on the floor.
Ness saw Luis struggle and figured that she knew what he was trying to achieve. She also knew that in his condition, he would not be able to do that, as despite the injury being on his arm, the fear and nausea would prevent him from being able to hold his balance for more than a few seconds, if that. She looked at Anna and said "Chair please."
To Ness suprise, Anna quickly left the room and came back with a swivel chair with arm rests.
The fabric cushioning of the chair should be better for Luis than the hard ground anyway.
Gently, Ness lifted Luis into her arms and placed him on the chair. She was relieved that he was in a stable enough condition to be able to sit on his own, yet she still feared that he may black out again at any second, so she stayed by his side. She did not want him to get hurt again.
May looked Luis up and down again. "How is your vision. Is it blurred?"
Luis blinked and tried to focus, but he couldn't. Everything just hurt too much to focus.
"I... Don't know."
May made a note on something on a clipboard and made a sour face. He assumed that was bad.
"Do you have pain anywhere else?" She continued to question.
"If I do.... I can't feel it."
Luis could only focus on his arm. Even though it had been patched up, the adrenaline from the initial incident had all but worn off and he felt the gash throbbing and pulsing with a searing pain like it was trying to scream on his behalf.
He had no idea how Dr May's brother managed to take injuries so well, but he figured it had something to do with experience. And previous employment to Fazbear Entertainment.
His arm flared up again and he hissed in pain. He didn't see what was happening around him, but he did see a brown and yellow blur move from his peripheral vision to be more in his line of sight. The brown gave way to an alabaster shape between.
Ness was really blurry.
He tried to focus, and even if it took a minute, he could soon define her crimson red eyes from the rest of her face and see the trio of scars on her cheek, and he could see her hair and how her bangs framed her face, and he could see the rainbow hair extension she always had in. Shakily, he held out the hand in his good arm, and she took it.
Something more than the floor or a chair to keep him grounded. Something to stop him from falling into the void of pain.
Focusing on Ness and Ness alone, his breathing begun to steady out as he let himself relax. Everyone was safe. He was safe. He figured that his body wasn't letting him acknowledge that. Or it did and just dropped him to harshly, one or the other.
Anyway, he didn't notice Dr May sticking a needle into his injured arm until she had already completed what she needed to do, and that was when she announced "I've given you something to numb the pain in your arm. Do not take any medication for the next six hours. Someone set a timer on his phone or something."
Anna picked up Luis's phone and set an alarm, whilst Luis looked towards Ness, who in some kind of instinctive response, also set the same alarm.
"I was about to say, he should have someone accompany him home and monitor his condition, but you seem to be one step ahead of me."
Both Ness and Luis turned bright red. Ness's usually white skin matched her eyes, and as for Luis, the flush of red was only slightly less noticeable on the fairly tanned Spaniard. Luis had considered asking Ness if she'd be able to stick around, and Ness was going to suggest going home with him to make sure he was ok. Neither had vocalised it yet, but now they knew the others intention, asking was just for the formalities of it.
"Can I stay round yours to make sure you're ok?" Ness asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yeah." Luis replied, trying to process what was blood pumping to his wound and what was blood vacating from that area to his face.
The duo smiled at eachother, meanwhile those who weren't monitoring thier injured colleague were hatching a plan as to what to do about the sudden hostility of one of the animatronics.
Mark, Dan, Steve, and Raha exchanged ideas before Dan and Raha headed over to the room that the Fazbear Entertainment animatronics were stored. A few minutes later, they came back, neither worse for wear.
"We were able to turn the safety back on, but who knows when that'll be flicked off again." Dan stated as he stepped into the room, "all of them seem to have this switch, so all of them seem to be prone to having that kind of behavioural switch."
"What kind of robots even have an unsafe mode?" Mark quiped as he sketched up a plan.
"Fazbear Entertainment ones." Raha shot back with all her usual bluntness.
"Well, Anna, love, we need to do something about the robots, just in case they attack again." Dan looked between Anna and the door to where the robots were stored, then back again.
"Well, did you guys have any ideas?" Anna said, "because I have one, but it's a last resort."
"Dumpster." Mark stated.
"No."
"Disassemble them and reassemble them when needed?" Raha suggested.
"No."
"I think we should lock them away somewhere. That way we can just unlock a door instead of rebuilding them." Steve suggested.
"But where," Anna's reply being more than one word this time mean that Steve was on the right track. But questions remained.
"Do we use the storage containers or the basement?" Dan proposed the only two options.
"The basement is a last resort, but given what they did to Luis," Anna grimaced as she saw how dazed Luis still was from his injury, "that's probably the right choice. The basement may be flooded, but I have a bad feeling that if we used a container, it may not hold. But the basement door? Blast proof."
"Guess that settles it." Mark stood up and grabbed his mop. The basement wasn't going to clear up the water that had leaked in itself.
"Alright." Anna clasped her hands and took a deep breath, "Me, Dan, and Mark will sort out preparing the basement for the robots to move in, and then it'll be just me and Dan moving them, unless anyone wants to volunteer."
Anna hoped nobody would volunteer. Mark was too spooked by Fazbear's machines to not be a liability to himself. Steve was still struggling to process what had happened back in the storage room between him and Foxy, and how Luis saved his life. They needed Raha up here in case something went wrong during the process of moving the animatronics. Luis was in no state to help, and Ness was keeping an eye on him.
'Moving them is a two man job anyway,' Anna thought to herself as she, Dan, and Mark went down into the basement to clean up any water puddles and place buckets. Meanwhile, Raha was fixated on the doors: any door that had a link to storage, she had eyes on. It was as if she was practically paranoid. But she had every right to be, given thier behaviour earlier today.
Thankfully, no machine came bursting through any doors, and the only door that opened was when Anna, Dan, and Mark left the basement, the scrape of the blast door on the floor making Raha jump a bit.
"It's all ready down there. Me and Dan will take care of moving the robots." Anna said as she strode over to the storage room, Dan following a bit behind. Mark was the last out and scurried to where Steve, Raha, Luis and Ness were grouped together.
"That basement still gives me the creeps..." Mark mumbled as he looked between the basement's blast door and the door to the room where the animatronics were all stored.
Anna looked over at Mark, "At least you won't need to go down there. If any of them need cleaning, I'll bring them up for you."
With a huff, she and Dan walked towards the storage room door.
"Is this even safe?" Dan hesitantly placed a hand on the door and looked towards Anna.
"No idea love. But we'll be safer once those things are in the basement." Anna replied as she pushed open the storage room door and barged inside.
The duo then begun to ferry the robots from the storage room to the basement. Every second Anna and Dan spent in the basement felt like agonising hours to the remainder of the crew up on the surface, but each time, the couple resurfaced, generally unscathed bar a subbed toe from a brick or off stair or mildly scratched hand from an errant peice of metal.
"And that does it," Anna breathed as she and Dan trudged out of the basement for the final time, "that was the last of them. We only take them out when we need to do work on them. This way nobody who doesn't need to come into contact with those things has to."
As Anna locked the basement door, Dan went up to the rest of the group.
"Is everyone doing ok?" He asked, scanning the anxious faces for a response.
"I was worried you and Anna were gonna die down there, but yer still here, so I'm fine." Raha replied, her blasé facade not working to hide that she'd been on-edge this whole time.
"Doing good." Mark added, "Nothing attacked us."
"Doing fine... I think." Steve sounded distant, but not his usual distant. He turned to Luis to see if he was feeling any better.
"Anxious." Ness admitted, shakily a little and unable to take her eyes off the basement door.
"I'm feeling better..." Luis gave a slight but genuine smile. He felt less dazed than before, so felt as if he could walk again without collapsing. But he wouldn't risk driving: not like this.
"That's a relief," Dan sighed, "any idea as to why the robot tried to attack Steve?"
"No." Luis shook his head, "I just tailed him into the storage room, and saw this Foxy walking around, and then it just charged."
Steve nodded and seemed deep in thought. He nodded to himself, but said nothing.
He had seen a visual bug on his computer after Luis had gone to check the network computer.
After Anna announced that they'd be all heading home early today due to this incident, Steve managed to catch Luis alone by the bathrooms.
"I think I know what's going on." Steve spoke in an assertive whisper.
"Yeah," Luis replied in a similar tone, "There is DEFINITELY something in the boards. Don't email ANYONE about this yet. We can't let Fazbear Entertainment know that we're catching on. They need to think that all of them have been scanned in on the same day."
Steve nodded as Luis spoke before replying himself, "I suspect these bugs will only get worse as we scan in more boards. If the robots wanted to go for the kill like it seemed, then they definitely banked on us being able to scan all of them in one day. I think some of the data from boards may be going through the system by themselves to turn the animatronics aggressive."
"I agree. But what do you think the point is?" Luis added. Ness, William's vessel was here. Why would Faz Ent' try and do something that could kill the person thier founder intended to use as a vessel?
"I don't know, but after we've scanned the last board in, I will be contacting Jim." Steve's tone was blunt. He had a contact in Fazbear Entertainment, and was going to pull any strings he needed to get to the bottom of this. He didn't want to feel like he was the reason why someone got hurt. Not again. Not after today.
"Alright." Luis's tone was equally blunt, a grim mutual understanding of thier situation. "Let's hope we can prepare well enough to counteract whatever this bug is and whatever may be in the rest of the boards. At least this incident gives us the heads up to prepare."
The duo nodded at eachother before heading out with everyone else to the car park. They were supposed to be scanning in the rest of the boards, and the only ones left were ones already in animatronics, a task Fazbear Entertainment expected to take one day, Anna expected to take three, but now it was looking like it'd take at least more than a week. And that was just for scanning: organisation would be worse, as just because a board came from an animatronic didn't mean that the board belonged to that animatronic. It'd be a game of 'guess the robot that's about to go ferral'. One nobody wanted to play.
They couldn't shake the feeling that things would get worse, because they knew for a fact that it would get worse from here on out.
With a grim nod, Luis and Steve headed thier separate ways for the night: Steve walking home and Luis heading to Ness's car.
Today's incident was over, but there was going to be more. Luis just knew it.

@anonymous - Curious what Renegade's thoughts on Chara were
Tumblr media
“how bold of you to bring up their name.”
He didn’t often think about his kids for they had been the last good part of him, his soul seemed heavy with the LV in his chest, it was painful. Maybe that’s why he didn’t think about it, About them, He’d been a good monster once, they’d all been composed of love. He wasn’t like that anymore, Not since they’d died, Not since humans had landed that final blow on their already struggling kingdom. That both his kids had gone up with peace in their hearts, Wishing to be the best of all of them, only to have their body torn apart by humans who knew nothing but their hate. It was only reasonable he’d want to bring the hate back to them tenfold despite knowing the cost.
“Chara...was a sweetheart, They were a shy, introverted kid who didn’t always like how brash asriel could be and sometimes he made them cry. Yet i don’t think we’d ever been happier then, Toriel had always wanted more kids but as boss monsters, the kingdom had needed us and we couldn’t throw our lives away for them. So when chara came along, Injured and terrified about being found by the family they’d run from? they were our miracle.”
he’s sure they’d be afraid of him now.

Nice to Meet You
Tumblr media
➟ pairing(s): Mark & Reader; Mama and Papa Tuan
➟ genre(s): Fluff
➟ word count: 1.4K
➟ warnings: super sweet parents
“Earth to y/n,” your boyfriend called to you.  He waved his hand in front of your face, snapping your attention back to the present.  You looked around and noticed that the plane had landed at LAX.
“Sorry,” you blushed, “I must have zoned out for the last part of the flight.”  Some time ago you had selected a movie to watch, which needless to say, it was long forgotten.  Your mind had wondered several times that day, making it hard to focus.
You had been dating Mark for about 6 months now.  Things have developed and evolved between the two of you quickly.  With the holidays around the corner, he suggested taking the next steps in the relationship... Meeting the family.  Sure, you’ve spoken to his parents in passing.  A phone call here or there while he was occupied or even a quick “Hello” while he video chatted with them... But this was different!  This was the man you loved and you wanted to make a good impression on his family.
You both grabbed your luggage from the conveyer belt and made your way to the exit.  You silently ran through all the scenarios in your mind.  Introductions first.  Offer your hand for a handshake... unless his moms steps in for a hug... then hug her.  Do you hug his dad?  What if his brother, Joey, was there?  Did he say if his sisters would be home or were they arriving tomorrow?
“Y/N,” Mark called to you again, “You’re doing it again.”  He laughed and pulled you in for a hug.  You relaxed as he puled you against his chest.  He kissed the top of your head rested his head on the top of yours.  “You need to stop this,” he whispered, “You’re overthinking everything.  You’re brain will catch fire from this nonstop silliness.”  You chuckled into his chest.
“Easy for you to say,” you sighed, “You are Mr. Charming.  Everyone loves you.”  You could feel his body shake as he laughed.  He stroked your hair gently.  Pulling away, you looked up at him.  The look of adoration was unmistakable as he smiled down at you.  You felt a little more at ease with him next to you.  “Did you get a rental or UBER,” you questioned.
“Oh.  Well... About that,” he trailed off.  He bit his lower lip and looked away, not able to meet your eyes.  “My parents... They um...,” he stuttered again.  You furrowed your brows at him, not able to understand what he was saying.
“Spit it out, Tuan,” you ordered.  You tried to follow his line of sight, but still had not idea what he was looking for.  Then it happened.  You heard his name being called from across the way.  He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled at you, meeting your eyes again.
“Baby,” the woman cried as she wrapped her arms around her son.  She pulled back and admired his face.  “You look more handsome that the last time I saw you,” she doted over him.  She took the time to fix his hair and straighten his shirt.  The older man accompanying her laughed and swatted her hands away.
“Leave him alone, Dorine,” he softly scolded.  He pulled Mark into a hug, patting his back and kissing his cheek.  “We’ve missed you.”
You stood back and watched the exchange between the trio.  It was clear that they were close.  With all the noise around the terminal, you couldn’t make out what Mark had whispered to his mom.  He pulled away from his mom and locked eyes with you, a sly smile on his lips.  Before you could register what was happening, his mom spun around and looked at you for the first time.
“Mom,” he said to the woman in front of him, then looking to his dad, “Dad, this is y/n.”  His mom squealed and made grabby hands at you.  She quickly closed the space between the two of you and embraced you in a hug.  She pulled away and searched your face.
“Oh.  My.  Gosh,” she gushed, “You are more beautiful than the photos Mark sent us.”  She held your face in her hands and kissed your cheeks.  You let out the breath you didn’t know you were holding.  His mom grabbed your hands and tugged you towards his dad.  “Raymond,” she said, “Look at this beautiful girl.”  His dad laughed again at the enthusiasm his wife showed.
“Hello, dear,” his dad greeted you.  He too, pulled you into a hug.  “I’m glad you were able to make the trip.”  He stepped back and patted Mark on the back again, “We heard so much about you.  It wouldn’t be right if you weren’t here.”  His dad smiled warmly at you.
“Alright, alright,” Mark said, “That’s enough.”  He shook his head and laughed.  “Can we go home now?  It was a long flight and I’m ready to relax.”  He wrapped his arm around your waist and pressed a soft kiss to your temple.  You leaned against his body and smiled.  His mom saw this and made a squealing sound again.
“Come on, kids,” Raymond said, “Your mom made up your room.”  He grabbed your luggage in one hand and Mark’s in the other.  “We parked over here,” he directed with a nod of his head.  With his arm still around you, Mark began to follow his dad.
You felt a light touch on your arm as you walked away, looking back you was Dorine standing back.  You could see she wanted to speak to you.  Mark stopped and looked between you and his mom.  You smiled and squeezed his hand, gently letting him know you’d catch up.  He gave you a quick kiss on the lips before turning to catch up with his dad.
Dorine stepped closer and smiled.  She took your hands in hers and sighed.  You could tell there was something she needed to say.  Her face was an open book, emotions clear.  She was happy and sad at the same time.
“You know,” she started, “I’ve had a few jobs in my life.  By far, being a mom is the hardest, yet most rewarding.  When you bring home that new baby, you know that in your heart you will do whatever you need to in order to protect him.”  She glanced over your shoulder at the retreating forms of her husband and son.  “Letting him go to Korea to be a trainee was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.  Time and time again he called about girls he met, and of course time and time again I got calls about how it didn’t work.  Do you know how hard it is to protect your baby from heartbreak?”  She searched your face.
You tried to talk to her, let her know that you didn’t plan on leaving Mark, ever.  She wasn’t interested in letting you talk.
“I knew something was different when he called about you,” her face softened.  “I’ve never seen him look at anyone the way he looks at you.”  She squeezed your hands and smiled.  “I never thought I would feel the pain I felt when he left for Korea again,” she sighed, “But when he looks at you, I know I’m losing my son.”
“What?  No,” you interjected, “I’m not taking him from you.”  Your eyes began to water.  This is exactly what you feared.  She laughed and shook her head.
“Sorry,” she apologized, “I know he’ll always be my son.”  She wiped away a renegade tear that slipped down your cheek.  “It’s just a hard to let your baby go.  I know that he found in you what every mother wants for her son.  I have to remember he is a grown man, not my baby boy.  One day, the two of you will be married and then I’ll be just ‘mom’, and you will be the woman in his life that he depends on.”  She blinked rapidly, fighting back tears.  “I’m not good at this,” she sniffled, “I’m just so thankful that you are in his life.”
You couldn’t hold your tears back anymore.  They were flowing freely from your eyes.  She pulled you in for a tight hug.  You could feel that she was crying, too.
“Thank you,” you whispered.  The two of you stood there for a little.  Nothing needed to be said that hasn’t been already.
“Come on,” she said, gently pulling your hands, “Let’s go home.  The rest of the family is excited to meet you.”

hey so i got some Coops headcanons here with me instead of sleeping so i hope you enjoy :)
remmeber all these was inspired by the awesome @lumosinlove in SW so yeah :) like i said enjoy
They both love going groceries shopping at night, it’s their thing. Remus loves the quiet and the fact that it’s mostly empty and they can just laugh and do stupid shit and Sirius also enjoys the fact that there are no fans around. he loves his fans, a lot, but it’s also nice to sometimes go out and just be. without cameras or attention and just be with Remus.
they spend a lot of time in Sirius’s basement bc ofc they’re hockey nerds and they love playing against eachother and just Sirius loves watching Remus play because he’s so fucking beautiful and Remus just likes to spend time in the ice with Sirius and just have fun the two of them doing one of the things they love the most
They also love babysitting Harry. Sirius can’t get enough of Remus being all soft and carrying Harry around and Harry just cuddling against Remus while he carries him and Sirius just watches and his heart tugs at the idea of maybe one day in the future Remus carrying their own child. Remus loves watching Sirius play hockey with Harry because of COURSE that’s the first thing the kid learns. but not really, Sirius just grabs his little hands and carries most of Harry’s weight, and Harry just laughs the entire time and Remus watches them with adoration is his eyes because maybe one day, in the future, that could be their child
Remus loves waking up in the mornings to a sleepy Sirius because he’s the cutest most beutiful man ever and Remus could spend hours just staring at him and his perfect hair and the way his mouth softly parts when he sleeps and how his cheeks squish into the pillow while one arm hangs loosely around Remus.
Sirius loves pretending he’s still asleep while Remus watches him
They’ve also become one of the most loved couples out there bc of course they’re always posting cute shit. Remus’s most liked pic is a selfie of him smiling to the camera and you can see Sirius in the background carrying Harry in his shoulders and they trended in twitter for almost one week for that. Sirius’s is one of him after winning a game, u can see the team blurred in the back celebrating and in the front you can see Remus midair and Sirius with his arms opened ready to catch him and they’re both smiling so wide
they both have tiktok but Sirius is the only one that uses it. he’s always posting videos of the team doing dances in the locker room, especially of him Finn and Thomas. one of the most liked ones is of Kasey doing the renegade with a stoned face and the team losing it in the back. then there’s the one that’s it’s like “my boyfriend’s hot check” and it’s just a short shot of Remus skating effortlessly while passing a puck to Regulus on the basement and yeah, that one has a LOT of likes
Remus’s ONLY tiktok is one of him Jules and Sirius skating around. he has more likes and views in that one video than half of the team has on their entire page.
hope u enjoyed :)

‘Renegades’ trilogy by Marissa Meyer: review
Welcome today to a post I have been waiting to do for months. I never do entire posts for book reviews, but since this was a trilogy (and one of my favorites I read this year) I decided it would deserve a little more.
Note: I will be doing a spoiler-free review first and then I’ll put a warning before talking about each individual book :)
Synopsis: The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone... except the villains they once overthrew.
Trilogy Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I honestly think these are the best books I’ve ever read. The description was fascinating, easy to follow and gave amazing imagery without that heaviness that a lot of fantasy books have (this is more sci-fi/dystipia-ish but still).
The characters felt real and their individual voices were clear from start to finish. I loved every single character, even the ones I hated.
However, there is one thing that bothered me BUT it does align with their world and that is the lack of accountability certain characters recieve (but I will be talking about that in my Supernova review).
Then the PLOT OH MY GOSH. I mean, it’s superheroes. It’s nearly impossible to be original with a plot that isn’t the same as any Marvel or DC comic/movie/show. And yet Marissa Meyer that such a beautiful job of taking a common conflict (heroes vs villains, villains wanting to take over the world) and turning it into a unique plot with amazing twists.
I mentioned the world-building before, but I’ll do it again. Third person POV is not my favorite and neither is heavy world building like the one this book needed and had. Still, it was written in such a simple way that I didn’t feel like she was trying to confuse me, it was just a story.
Overall, this series was amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast paced, mind-blowing world building and compelling characters that will make you feel single to the core even in a relationship.
🚨Spoilers Ahead🚨
Renegades ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“We were all villains in the beginning.”
I went into this book with low expectations because I didn’t think I’d like Marissa Meyer’s style and boy was I wrong.
The first few chapters were a bit confusing but the moment Adrian fixed Nova’s bracelet I KNEW this would steer towards romance and it sold me. And then Nightmare making fun of the Sentinel for his comic book phrases and poses was my favorite thing ever. That would be me as a superhero, no doubt.
I really liked the way the plot progressed “slowly” without feeling dragged on. In fact, despite it’s slower pace of the story, the book still felt quick and that just won a million points with me.
Don’t even get me started on the Anarchists. I LOVED them. I like how they weren’t presented as villains from Nova’s POV, just enemies of a totalitarian state. Not even just in her point of view though. I genuinely didn’t think any of them were bad until Ingrid decided to show up at the library and almost killed Sketch’s crew.
And speaking of Sketch’s crew … the minor characters??? Hello??? Who writes side characters that are SO good?? Oscar is my favorite though. He wins. Danna being the only one to question Nova about Adrian’a feelings for her was hilarious, although it stressed me out that Nova put her to sleep. Counterpoint: it was very cute that the only way she could stop thinking of Adrian liking her was by putting Danna to sleep. Very on point teenage reaction. I would’ve done the same thing if only I wasn’t trying to remain anonymous in the organization that indirectly killed my parents.
The climax, on the other hand, felt a teensy bit rushed but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy Nodrian in their not-date. It was adorable, especially when they stopped at the kid’s party and then Nova panicking over the mere thought of going on the ferris wheel with Adrian. All the carnival chapters where my favorite thing ever and I really wished they hadn’t ended with Nova killing the woman who raised her. But I did like the irony of it being Ingrid who told her she didn’t have the guts to press the trigger and then she died at the hands of Nova’s gun.
AND THE ENDING WITH ACE BEING ALIVE. That shook me. I suspected it, of course, but it shook me to my core. 10/10 plot twist there.
Archenemies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I guess I figured you deserve to have good dreams every once in a while. Even if you never sleep.”
This one gets six stars because somehow I read it in 11 hours and I’ve never read such a large book in one day. The entire story was just fast-paced action, superhero world building and Nodrian flirting and eventually kissing. Best book ever.
I liked how in this book we got a closer look into other character relationships like Oscar and Ruby and then Danna’s suspicions over Nova. I would’ve liked to see more of Danna’s friendship with the team though, since at times it seemed she was only there to send passive aggressive comments at Nova. And the Sentinel’s “death” was amazing. Pure comic book material right there.
There is this thing though that I mentioned in the general review that bothered me and it’s when they reveal Agent N. This weapon they created using Max’s blood is a great example of how the Renegades had obtained way too much power. It’s when we start to see that maybe Nova and the Anarchists are right. The Renegades are slowly becoming a dictatorship and it’s bothersome that nobody except Nova and Adrian notice. Especially when it was so obvious with things like them using Agent N “against every prodigy who didn’t follow the Renegades code”. Sure, they were criminals, but that wasn’t about arresting them. It was about changing the DNA of people who made one mistake and were immediately deemed enemies of the state.
Back to the good stuff, Nodrian flirting was the highlight of this book. They’re both so awkward and adorable, especially when Nova’s teaching Adrian how to shoot and then when they’re in his room later on. The whole “you want me to ignore everything?” and “you’re not allowed to have girls in your room?” quotes KILLED me. Those were peak flirting moments and I’m immensely surprised by the way that Marissa Meyer manages to write teenagers realistically as an adult and not even having teenage kids of her own. Also, Nova opening up to Adrian was just. No. It killed me. My ghost is writing this btw.
The ending, once again, amazing. I loved it. Not only did it once again show Frostbite’s true colors, show us how much hate Adrian actually held against Nightmare and the way Nova had softened by the Renegades’ influence. And Ace Anarchy’s capture goes into the good things pile.
Supernova ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“To be honest, I’m not sure there are such things as villains anymore. Maybe there never really were.”
Is it a bad review if I just insert the word “AH” for the next ten lines? Yes? Damn it. I admit that I was expecting something much different, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I have never cursed and squealed so much by reading and had I not bought the hardcover with my own money, I would’ve thrown that book against the wall. It stressed me out. First of all, getting Nova and Adrian kissing in the tunnels a few chapters before Adrian arrests her for being Nightmare was another level of messed up. Clearly, she did everything in her power to save him from her house’s explosion and he threw it out the window in blind anger. And then the whole execution thing??? That was horrifying and it’s when the Renegades’ incompetence really showed its true colors. They couldn’t bring the people back to their side - because they failed - so they sentenced a broken, dying man and an underage girl who acted under the manipulation of her entire family, to death. If Hugh had ever even attempted to find out what happened to both Artino girls, none of that mess would’ve happened, but instead Lady Indomitable died and he went “WELL, can’t do anything about her last task, can we?” I get he was preoccupied by her orphaned son and the Ace of Anarchy, but it was as simple as going back into the house and searching. In fact, this entire book was just showing how their society was crumbling and in the end they went “we were all heroes”. I’m surprised Nova forgave the entire Renegades organization for what they did because even if it was Ace who sent a hit after her and her family, the Renegades were still willing to overuse their power.
And once again back to the good stuff before I end up bashing the Renegades even more, I never thought I would be on board with Adrian and Nova’s relationship at the end of the book. I try not to ship toxic relationships in YA because they happen a lot and I wouldn’t like younger readers to think that it’s okay, but I loved how both Nova and Adrian were willing to make a change for their relationship to work. They compromised because they loved each other so much it didn’t matter who had tried to kill the other person and their dad or who hadn’t advocated against the other’s execution, you know, the ups and downs of every relationship. While I do wish we had seen them talking about everything, I get a book can only have a certain amount of words and I was glad just the same with how it ended. Also, Leroy’s threat to Adrian is iconic, just like Oscar proclaiming his undying love for Ruby at the arena were they almost witnessed multiple murders.
The epilogue. Just. Wow. I knew it before because I’m smart and I spoiled it but I NEED another Renegades book. You can’t just end the series saying Evie Artino was Magpie and her being as angry as Nova once was. Like, no. You just can’t. That was a crime against humanity, tbh, but overall the series was amazing and I have never been more grateful to spend almost $80 in books.

top 5 townies from ts4, go !
thank you so much for the ask @aggieprendreghast
this was hard. especially the two last ones. i have so many townies that just have a soft spot in my heart. i hope you don’t mind me ranting about why i like them so much... as for my top favorite townies from ts4:
1.cassandra goth. a bit obvious, since my profile pic is my own remake of her. even if the ts4 is supposed to be an alternative universe where bella never disappeared. i just have a soft spot for cassie, especially after don left  her at the altar in ts2. even if that timeline is different from ts4 the feelings still remain the same for her in ts4. i like her dark and gloomy aura. i tend to play with the idea that she is into witchy and occult stuff like tarot, sometimes i make her become a spellcaster. also i used to play violin and piano like cassie, so that is probably also a reason why i like her as well.
2. lilith vatore. she is such a strong and interesting character. i always let her in when she comes to visit my sims at night. lilith dated one of my sims and she just automatically started to help his daughter with homework. it melted my heart seeing her already starting to take a motherly role to the kid upon meeting her. i like her style and that she is so well fit. i also like it that she is depicted to be more morally grey than her brother caleb, like she is still struggling with avoiding human plasma. i like the nod towards the show vampire diaries, and that she is maybe more like damon.
3.darling walsh. this townie didn’t interest me that much at first. my favorite townie from the household was miko ojo at first, but the more i played with the karaoke legends, the more i started to like them, (i think they are supposed to be nonbinary) they always end up being good friends with cassandra in every save, so that might be why they grew on me. i like the mix of sporty and geeky vibes, and the fact that they can sing. maybe that’s why darling and cassandra end up being friends in my saves? both have an interest in music. i also find it interesting how their aspiration is chief of mischief i usually end up giving them some skillpoints in mischief because of that.
4. max villareal. he is an interesting character. i mean he is a kid and still the leader of windenburg’s most infamous group: the renegades. i think he must have some sort of charisma, leadership skills despite being so young. and there is just something interesting with their whole family. we know their mother disappeared under mysterious circumstances, but what happened to her? i haven’t sadly played that much with the villareal family as much as i’d like to.
5. paka uha. i don’t know why, but whenever i see this sim wander around the neighborhood i just become so happy. paka befriended one of my sims in one of my saves, maybe that’s why i have a soft spot for them. a lot of my sims are active sims, so they meet them at the gym usually. i find those mermaid habits like squeaking to be funny and adorable. haven’t sadly played around with mermaid very much, because they feel a bit boring. but they are beautiful, and i really want to play around with them more.

Hi! What did you think of Diego x Lila? I thought they were interesting foils (both kinda trigger happy, both wanting to prove themselves to their parent) but I wouldn’t want their relationship to progress without Lila, like, not drugging him and becoming more mature in general
I liked them together, honestly. I thought they had great chemistry, they worked well as a team, and their banter was fun. They were friends, significant others, enemies, and partners in crime all at once, and as complicated as that relationship sounds, it was believable.
As it stands, though, I don’t think their relationship is necessarily healthy. Diego isn’t exactly a paragon of emotional maturity, but he at least doesn’t think drugging his date and taking them to meet his crazy power-hungry parent is going to strengthen their relationship. Of course, Diego’s fixation on stopping the Kennedy assassination is a sign that his obsession with renegade do-gooding hasn’t faded since his relationship with Eudora—a relationship where that same obsession caused significant tension. The fact Lila encourages it might have just been part of her cover, but it’s still not a good dynamic.
However, I do think they could be good for each other. Maybe not as romantic partners right away; maybe they need to take a step back and work things out as friends first. But Lila, at the end of S2, is at the same place Luther was at the end of S1: she now realizes the Handler is a bad parent, she knows she was manipulated, and she recognizes that as wrong. Diego can offer support and advice, but her dynamic with the Handler is much different, and much more complex, than Diego’s dynamic with Reginald. Where Reginald was harsh and demeaning, calling his kids by numbers instead of names, the Handler was good-natured and fun. Lila thought her mother adored her because her mother acted as if she did. It was all a front for cold manipulation, but Lila fell for it. Most kids would. Her experience isn’t like Diego’s, but he recognizes bits and pieces of his own story in it, and those bits and pieces allow him to help her see that something isn’t right.

This was fun to thumbnail, but the amino master app shitting itself on me really made starting this a motivational nightmare, but I found motivation the next day and managed to do the sketch. Then I managed the linework. Something that's not in the thumbnail but is in the final is that one of mike's eyes are bloodied. I wanted to add this as 1: my paint.net thumbnails have little to no detail, and 2: I wanted to show the ghost that was in frame was possessing him. Something that I adore about the thumbnail that I made was that it conveyed everything that I wanted in the finished product: the implied struggle beforehand, the 'my fun day' drawings pinned to all heights of the wall, the worried ghost, Freddy's shadow looming over Mike. It made translating what was in my head onto physical paper a lot easier, as everything I wanted was already laid out, and I just had to copy it down. The only thing stopping me from finishing it digitally is that, well, my digital art is bad. And my trust for computers is minimal. Then when I drew the actual drawing, I somehow managed to capture what I thumbnailed in such a way that I'd call it perfect. I managed to get the looming shadow, the scared face, the ghost. I don't know how I managed it, but sometimes you've just got to wait a bit and you'll be able to draw something that you're proud of! Also I literally just wrote the fic last second as I had an idea just as I woke up to post this. =°•.🌹 Story 🌹.•°=
°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•🌹•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*° Mike clutched his arm as he sunk to the ground, his legs practically just giving in as he hit the cold tile floor. His breathing heavy yet fast as he attempted to calm himself, to no avail. Blood dripped out from his wounds, staining his skin, clothes, and hair a vicious hue of deep red to match the bloodshot state of his right eye. A striking blue spectre hovered by mike's side; a young boy - Frederico - who has never been good with real confrontation, looking between the man he posessed and the imminent threat that was heading thier way. They both were frozen in fear. Tears dripped down Mike's face as he stared at the approaching robotic bear, the shadow of its metal and fabric shell slowly shifted over him. He wanted to get up and run, but he didn't have the strength to get up. Frederico knew that his 'abilities' wouldn't work on machines, and the only 'skill' he had that could help was one that helped prevent death; not prevent damage. Frederico tried to stand between Mike and the approaching animatronic, but his attempts at diplomacy were ignored. "He's my friend!" And "leave me alone" were met by a blank advance, as if nothing had been said. Out of ideas, the kid skulked back to Mike's side, just as terrified as his host was. Mike was never one for weapons, and only used them as a last resort. He didn't have any hope that he had brought one with him today, and he was correct. He had nothing but a small knife - only good for cutting wires - on him, but that wouldn't do him much good. The animatronics shadow had now completely engulfed the duo, and all Mike could do was look up at the machine and hope that the damage it would decide to inflict wasn't too servere today. He was defenceless. °*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•🌹•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°•°*°

Renegades Trilogy,  an epic assortment of superhero shenanigans and secret identities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Series of books by Marissa Meyer
- Renegades
- Archenemies
- Supernova
Why you should read this novel:
- Spies, alter egos, secrets. Through the book you are waiting for the reveals and snickering about the dimwitted nature of the central characters.
- Nova, the lead female, is an interesting character, exploring the vast regions between being a ‘hero’ and being a ‘villain’.
- Both characters, Adrian and Nova, are shaped by their ‘parental figures’ ideologies and throughout the books it is really nice to see them challenge their ideologies/morals.
- Interesting characters with a well paced novel, the last book took me a day to read. I couldn’t put it down.
- Dialogue is fun, sarcastic and really enhances the book.
Other notable points:
A novel that explores the grey areas between the good guys and the bad guys. The good guys have very blatant flaws that make you question their authority and the bad guys have redeeming qualities, that force you to make your own conclusions.
The series does slip into a few cliches, which honestly only reflects that it is a novel about superheroes/villains. Some of the plot was predictable, that being said, there are direction within the plot that I very much enjoyed and did not predict.
Things that i really liked:
I really like Adrian as a character, he is likable and kind and posses a really cool power (His drawings come to LIFE!) which he takes advantage of quite cleverly.
Max, possibly the most powerful superhero in the series, but is only a Kid. He is an adorable character and very smart considering his age.
Conclusion:
This series is a fun read, it had me laughing out loud and thoroughly gripped. Fans of Marissa Meyer will definitely enjoy the read. Posses characters that were very easy to like and empathise. I only wish that there were more discussions/duels? between Nightmare and the Sentinel. Very much a YA series, focusing on the emotional implications of events. I did fall into the book, reading perhaps too fast. But that just reflects the series!
Final Rating: 4 Stars
Enjoy Reading :)

STRAY KIDS INSPIRE THEIR GENERATION TO PICK UP THE MIC
K-POP’S YOUNG DISRUPTORS NAVIGATE ADULTHOOD ALONGSIDE THEIR FANS
Stray Kids are fighting with their fans to determine who adores the other most. The fans started it, erupting into an impromptu chant inside Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles: "We love you! We love you!," they shout, repeatedly. The sound is deafening, catching the boy band off guard. The eight members retaliate with their own impassioned chorus. "We love Stay," they respond, referencing their legions of international devotees. Both sides scream until, ultimately, Stray Kids admit defeat; they stand awkwardly onstage, apparently unsure how to receive the unrivaled adulation. Bang Chan, the Korean group's steadfast leader, looks around the venue in awe, while sensible vocalist Seungmin makes a heart with his hands and points to the crowd, resolved to have the last word.
This is not the first time Stray Kids has lost the battle of who-loves-who. It’s happened in cities across the United States, from New York to Dallas, amidst their District 9: Unlock world tour. It's canon, chiseled into the group's short but colorful history, alongside such viral moments as "Seungmin in the building" and "I'm not gonna leave you behind." Displays of affection between idols and fans are nothing new but, with Stray Kids, they’re never forced.
"It doesn't matter how old you are," Bang Chan tells the crowd mid-show, intensity building with every word. "It doesn't matter if you're a boy or a girl, or whoever you choose to be. It doesn't matter where you're from — everyone is welcome in our special district."
Two weeks prior to this performance, Stray Kids — Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N — are gazing from a conference room in a Times Square skyscraper. The sky is gray, but that doesn't deter Hyunjin from posing for a series of selfies against the floor-to-ceiling window. As the lithe dancer works his angles, his bandmates are scattered throughout the room. Han props his phone against the room’s A/V controls to watch an anime; Bang Chan hunches over his own phone, thumbing the screen intently; Lee Know rests his eyes; and Australia-born Felix gossips about last night's Grammy Awards. Like any teen, he's obsessed with Billie Eilish, and her historic Grammys sweep is hard for him to fathom. "Can you believe it?" he says, eyes wide and sparkling. "She's only 18. It's amazing."
Tumblr media
But at 19, the deep-voiced rapper, whose delicate features betray his cherry-red hair, has similarly found success at a young age. Within a year of their 2018 debut, Stray Kids received 11 rookie awards and released five EPs. In fact, while Eilish and her brother Finneas were crafting homemade beats in a Highland Park bedroom, JYP Entertainment's tenacious boy wonders were honing their own unique sound in a small studio in Seoul, South Korea. Members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han comprise the group's primary production trio, 3RACHA, and they've been making music together since their trainee days in 2017. Introspective early tracks like "Start Line" and "Runner's High" laid the foundation for Stray Kids' sonic identity: With the disruptive power of punk, they deliver astute, poignant lyrics about the bristly experience of growing up and its side effects.
"The things we worry about and the things Stay worry about — we share a lot of the same struggles," Han tells MTV News. "Even though our ambitions are different, we work hard just the same. It becomes our inspiration musically." As the creative force behind two of the group's more vulnerable cuts, "19" and "Sunshine," the 19-year-old rapper reveals his innermost thoughts and anxieties to the fans. But that honesty can be frightening.
Tumblr media
"It's nerve-racking for us," Bang Chan says. "Sometimes we think, 'If we talk about this, will people understand? Will they relate?' We're always thinking about how we can reach people through our lyrics because we want our music to help."
That empathy has been woven throughout their music from the beginning. Stray Kids’ first singles, the pre-debut track "Hellevator" and the darkly riotous "District 9," are full of angst and aggression, soundtracks for those who balk at societal pressures and follow their own rules. "My Pace" is an empowering anthem teeming with energy and affirmations. ("Don't compare yourself with others," Bang Chan sings on the hook. "It's OK to run slower.") Songs like "Voices" and "Side Effects" offer an intimate glimpse into the tumultuous mind of a young person still figuring out their place in the world, while "Miroh" and "Victory Song" are bursting with big sounds and youthful bravado.
youtube
"Young people today may feel a bit trapped, like you're constantly being told what to do and you feel like you can't speak for yourself," Bang Chan says. "So we want people our age to feel comfortable speaking out and talking about what they think."
By encouraging their fans to examine their own growing pains, to feel everything, they ensure that their message is never didactic. "All strayed steps come together to make a new road," they say at their concert. And with their latest release, "Levanter," off their sixth EP Clé: Levanter, Stray Kids come to the understanding that the journey is more meaningful than the destination, and the path ahead is ultimately theirs to define. So they double knot their shoelaces and dash full-speed ahead. "We might not know what the actual goal is, but as long as we're running hard and we're running as a group, whatever comes is going to be good anyway," Bang Chan says. "We just wish that a lot of people out there could listen to our music and get a lot of energy and hope from it."
Like 25-year-old Selina, who connects to their lyrics because she's "still on that journey of figuring out what I want to do and who I want to be," she says, clutching her Stray Kids light stick (a compass, now featuring Bang Chan's name written on the handle) outside of Microsoft Theater. Her friend Joseline, 18, likes that the members "have other priorities and interests outside of being a K-pop idol" that they reveal through daily Instagram posts, livestreams on the V Live app, TikToks, and weekly YouTube videos and vlogs. "He's not just Han from Stray Kids, he's Han Jisung — rapper, producer, and person," she adds.
Tumblr media
For Kambree, 17, the group has a "positive vibe" that makes her feel happy and accepted. "They make us feel like family, no matter who you are or what you look like," she adds. Her best friend Lexxie, 17, says Stray Kids "make me feel like I'm not alone with my issues." And So Yun, 30, finds their mix of "hard-hitting EDM" and "super angsty" lyrics reminiscent of the emo bands she listened to in high school. "It's the same rebellious spirit that I felt as a teen when you want to be your own person and figure out your own voice."
Their music has given Louis, 30, a newfound perspective. "I like the ['Levanter'] lyric, 'I want to be myself, I don't care' — that line resonates with me because we live in a society where people try to mold you, but at the same time, I just want to myself and at this point, I really don't care!"
Best friends Ella and Jazlynn, both 19, met online through their mutual love of Stray Kids, and they've customized their light sticks with glitters and holographic stickers of their favorite members' names. "Half of the group is technically my age, so I can look at them and see how successful they are, and it gives me inspiration to work harder," Jazlynn says, an I.N banner at her side. And while they do feel comforted by the authenticity in the group's songs, as Ella explains, it's who they are off-stage that many fans connect with most. "When you see Felix do the Renegade, it's like, 'I do that too!'"
Their ability to ignite the stage with powerful performances while staying true to themselves behind the scenes — as both K-pop's reigning meme kings and young men navigating adulthood — is what makes Stray Kids so relatable to a generation that experiences much of their lives online. "This generation is comfortable being alone," Changbin says. "We have our phones. We don't always need to be talking to each other to be together. Sometimes a text is fine."
And they're pretty normal, too. Bang Chan and Changbin watch videos from Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival to help clear their minds in the studio; the tracks "Road Not Taken" and "Stop" are the direct results of such self-care. Han's idea of a perfect day would be to "not come out of my room for 24 hours." If he could spend all day watching YouTube videos, he would. In fact, he says "Sunshine" was inspired by a scene in the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers, where the main characters travel to an idyllic private island. Though Han’s larger-than-life presence dominates the stage, he identifies as an introvert and admits he hopes to "overcome" his shyness. "On my ideal perfect day, I'd try new experiences and meet new people comfortably," he says. "You can do it!" Bang Chan adds, encouragingly.
Youngest member I.N makes time to go shopping, though he prefers to "chill" on his days off. And when Felix isn't playing video games or destroying kitchens with Seungmin, he frequents Seoul's finest dog cafes. "We have so many dog lovers in our group," he says, smiling. "I've been looking at a lot of dogs, and I feel like they help you feel better. I really want a dog with the team." Jisung points at Seungmin, whose nickname is "puppy," and Bang Chan adds, "We already have one." Seungmin scrunches his nose and says, "No way!" (But Han insists he's a "really bad boy.")
Meanwhile, Hyunjin, who’s known by fans for his theatrics and commanding stage presence is extremely open with his emotions. He frequents V Live, where he offers personal advice to viewers of his video series Hyunjin’s Counseling Center. But the 19-year-old admits that opening up to Stay has helped him, too. "I don't always have a lot of confidence," he says. “When I want to be comforted or when I’m feeling kind of sad, Stay are really good at consoling me. I want to be able to repay that comfort in full."
"The connection between Stay and Stray Kids would be family," Felix adds. Han jokes that they're the "annoying and mischievous" little brothers. But it's that sense of connection, among the group as well as with their fans, that has cemented Stray Kids as the vital voices of their generation.
Tumblr media
"The struggles we're going through — anxiety, stress, school, love — they tell us to take our time and see where our path leads," Selina says. "It's OK to stray from it. Just stay true to yourself. I always associate that with them. The idea of 'You Make Stray Kids Stay' is to find out what it is that grounds you and just keep going."
And Stray Kids don't plan to slow down any time soon. Having wrapped their Clé series at the end of last year with Levanter, 2020 offers an exciting fresh page for new musical experimentations, starting with the three original unit songs the group produced for the tour. "Wow" is a sexy R&B track from dancers Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Felix. It's also their first explicit love song. "We wanted to try a sexy song because it's a special stage," Hyunjin says, explaining that the dancers worked on their own lyrics in addition to helping with the slinky choreography. "We wanted to include moves that we haven't tried before," Lee Know adds, noting that they wanted something sexy and powerful. "So it was a new experience."
"My Universe," featuring vocalists Seungmin and I.N with an assist from Changbin, is a bright pop ballad. "I always wanted to try something like that," I.N says, eyes smiling. Seungmin tells Changbin from across the table, "Thanks for helping." And 3RACHA's "We Go" oozes confidence over a scorching trap beat. "We made 'We Go' last time we were here [in the United States]," Bang Chan says. "We made around three to four songs in one day… The performance is really fun as well. And those two [he points to Han and Changbin] got to have the chance to use Autotune live."
Tumblr media
They also released their first English singles in January, a process that rapper Changbin, known for his furious flow, calls "difficult." ("It was fun," Hyunjin argues beside him.) "I was listening to Changbin's rap [in 'Double Knot'] like, 'Why is this so fast? What am I going to write?'" Bang Chan says. "I tried to write it as easy as possible so that he could speak it well. I'm really glad that they could record it really well for me."
In March, they'll debut in Japan. And there's another mixtape project in the works, kicked off by the digital release of "Gone Days," a relaxed, Autotune-laced anthem for the "OK Boomer" generation. A play on the Korean word kkondae, it describes someone who pushes outdated ideas and expectations onto another based only on their age and status — and signals the arrival of a bold new direction. "I think [young people] now just need to be more comfortable with themselves," Bang Chan says of his inspiration for the track. "By being yourself, you never know what's going to happen."
"I always believe that one person can change the world," he adds. "So if you have a thought or an idea, just let it out. Because who knows? You can make the world a much better place."

If you're still doing these: Top 5 fictional characters? Top 5 books?
I like avoiding chores, so yes - definitely still answering asks:
Top 5 Fictional Characters:
1. Sherlock Holmes - I will admit, the more recent versions of this character with Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr. are probably my favorite versions of Holmes, but I will read or watch pretty much anything about this man. I have even Young Sherlock and Moriarty sitting on my shelves, and even House of Silk (when I get the time). I just...I like characters that are the smartest in the room, and while I appreciate the surprise of a humble smart character, I am much closer to Sherlock and his “you can’t really be this dumb...oh. Shit. You are.”
2. Robin Hood - again, I will read or watch pretty much anything about this character, though I will always love Kevin Costner’s Prince of Thieves - and I actually did like Taron Edgerton’s portrayal in the most recent one, even though both versions were absolutely panned by critics. Probably because I wholeheartedly subscribe to taxation is theft, but also because I like any character who rips off people who have it coming to them.
3. Merlin - I should say the mythology of King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table and anyone associated with it. But anyone who knows me likes a bit of subtle magic and either snarky secret wizards or cantankerous old wizards, and to this day, Sword in the Stone is my favorite iteration of this storyline.
4. Tony Stark - Probably for the same reason I like Sherlock Holmes, I like Tony Stark, especially in the MCU. It’s one of the few times that someone is shown with a relatively not pretty version of CPTSD, and how it can alter your brain chemistry to the point of making wildly poor decisions because in your mind, it seems perfectly rational. (Do I like how Steve and everyone else just compacts the problem by complaining that Tony tries to control everything but also that everything is Tony’s fault? No - but that, in a way, is also accurate). Tony is also one of the few characters that witnesses fallout to his decisions, and learns from them. Again, not always the right lesson, but his character does learn.
5. Aliena of Shiring from Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett - I will admit, I added her after wondering why I had no women fictional characters, but I realized most of it has to do with the terrible way that women characters are written. Aliena manages to be what I would call unconquerable. The amount of crap that woman puts up with for 1000 pages and still manages to not break, keep strong, think and out maneuver life is truly awe inspiring. I love her character so much.
Top 5 Books.
Hmm. Well, we already said I would read anything about Sherlock, Robin and Merlin, so...let’s branch out.
1. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Follett primarily wrote spy and action novels, so this historical epic about cathedral building in a small town in England in the 12th century. It has epic everything. The characters are fantastic - True Good and True Evil, there’s a nun who places a curse on the bad guys and becomes a witch who lives in the woods. It has everything that is good about the church and everything that is bad about the church. It deals with the every day peoples’ dealings with the constant change between rulers (Empress Matilda and Stephen of Blois were going at it in a civil war after the death of Henry’s only legit son). It has a literally epic love story between Jack and Aliena, to whom every love story will forever pale in comparison, and Aliena legit walked across all of Christendom to find her True Love. Movie counterparts are Eddie Redmayne and Hayley Atwell. Everyone who is good gets a Happy Ending. Everyone who is evil gets their goddamn comeuppance in the most horrible of ways and they fucking deserve that shit.
2. Okay, so on the heels of “the most epic story of all time”, I present to you a “It’s not the greatest but I love it anyway” - Rise of Renegade X, by Chelsea Campbell, which is in fact a series, and I love the second and third installment the most, but it’s about a made up city where there are superheroes and supervillains and that’s just how life goes. Heroes are marked with an H on their thumb when they turn 16, villains with a V (it’s a plot point to explain why, but it’s a genetic thing, like a finger print), and on the main character’s 16th birthday, he expects a V and instead gets an X. He eventually tracks down his super hero dad who didn’t know that he existed, and convinces the kid to come live with his family - where he has three other children, and a wife who was permanently crippled by a supervillain. As it goes along, the series deals more and more with prejudice, racism, classism, Good versus Evil compared to Right versus Wrong, and the MC, Damien is the first person narrative, so you get all of his snarky sarcasm first hand.
3. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. 100% because of the world building, the fact that it is a fantasy version of Ocean’s Eleven, but also because I truly and deeply adore Kaz Brekker. One of the few characters with no particular power, he’s perfectly human, and absolutely terrifying. And while he has a character arc that I adore, it does not fundamentally hinge on him changing who he is. At the end, Kaz is still a fucking cold hearted, brilliant and scheming bastard, but the audience has an insight to him that maybe Kaz doesn’t even have himself. His issues don’t magically go away. He doesn’t have a Scrooge moment. He has his own set of principles and he stays by them, and what is so lovely is that the love interest accepts that.
4. Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. Murder horses based on Irish/Scottish Mythology, and a horse race with said murder ponies. Need I say more?
5. Book of Lost Things by John Connolly. This is going to sound weird as a recommendation, but this book is the book of fucking nightmares. I read it for a class on Ireland because we had to pick either a story about Ireland, takes place in Ireland, or was written by an Irish person. I read this in I think an afternoon and I didn’t sleep that night. Despite the main character being like 11 years old, I would never let a kid read it. It’s a dark, true-to-Grimms’-source fairy tale that is like the twisted version of the Chronicles of Narnia, and a psychological trip and a half. I loved it. It is a true fairy tale - the kid, David, mom dies in the first chapter, and David feels like he failed her because he’d developed this SEVERE OCD ritual that he believed would keep his mother alive (it obviously doesn’t), and his dad, months later, remarries and has a second child, whom David hates. The baby cries all the time, the young mother is preoccupied with a baby and no husband (he’s off fighting in WWII), and David is left to occupy himself most of the time. They move out of London because of the Blitz, to David’s mother’s family estate. It’s old, and creepy, and the garden seems like something is calling to him, that sets a dread in the pit of his stomach when he goes near it. Enter the Crooked Man, a man who offers to give David everything he wants if David tells him his brother’s name. David refuses, and that night, a German plane crashes in the garden, and it turns out, that’s the portal/wardrobe to another world, and David gets dragged into it. And it just goes from there.
Thanks for the asks! They’re always fun!
