Discotek Media announced today that their blu-ray release of Kodocha series two is now available to pre-order from RightStuf ahead of its May 30th 2023 release date.
If you're into Kodocha you'll probably know that only the first part of the anime series has previously received a US release. For countless English-speaking Kodocha fans the only access they've had to the rest of the anime adaptation has been through raws or extremely messy bootleg subs. Discotek Media will change that with their release of the remaining TV anime episodes on SD blu-ray this year!
There's been a lot of anticipation for this Discotek release as it has been quite some time coming subsequent to their licensing announcement, but anyone familiar with the source material will appreciate the absolutely MAMMOTH job that translating & subbing these episodes would have required on Discotek's part. I know I'm just happy they were able to complete it and put together this release at all.
Unlike the first series, which received an English dub, the second Kodocha anime series blu-ray will only feature English subtitles -- but don't let the absence of a dub put you off too much, the original cast are incredible and if you want to see the characters a little older and in even more challenging situations, you'll definitely get your money's worth out of this release.
As usual, I think an Amazon pre-order link will come in time but Right Stuf offers a solid discount on their pre-orders so if you want to get your hands on this BD set at a decent price then they're probably your best bet.
Edit: For those interested, the first Kodocha blu-ray set from Discotek is still available via Right Stuf and Amazon.

Oh heck yeah
So y’know how how every Sim made as an adult starts out with the generic “Mystery Sim” as their teenage love?
(Which I mean. Is fine. Personally I’d prefer nothing but it’s not bad as such lol)
Well I finally dug around in the SimPE memory tab to see what I could mess with without - hopefully - breaking anything this time, and well :3
Hehe ♪
And as further proof that that wasn’t just him getting rejected after I put them on the lot (though “Very First Kiss” is only a teen option and I made them both as adults) -
I modified his very first memory to be meeting Dex!
I also gave him this very rare memory of being attracted to Dex for funsies hehe ♥

One objection goes as follows. If we succeed in explaining how some people came to dominate other people, may this not seem to justify the
domination? Doesn't it seem to say that the outcome was inevitable, and that it would therefore be futile to try to change the outcome today? This objection rests on a common tendency to confuse an explanation of causes
with a justification or acceptance of results. What use one makes of a historical explanation is a question separate from the explanation itself. Understanding is more often used to try to alter an outcome than to repeat or perpetuate it. That's why psychologists try to understand the minds of murderers and rapists, why social historians try to understand genocide, and why physicians try to understand the causes of human disease. Those investigators do not seek to justify murder, rape, genocide, and illness. instead, they seek to use their understanding of a chain of causes to interrupt the chain.

I keep periodically getting notes on one of my Ya Boy Kongming! posts, and I’m not, like, MAD about it, but it amuses me because I ended up being entirely wrong about it and what the final plan was, to the point where I then had a followup post that was “Well damn I definitely didn’t call the live diss track!”
So it amuses me that people keep looking at it and going “oh yeah I want this on my blog” almost two years later, I’ve got no clue why but thanks?

wait if you haven't read stellarlune yet i guess this proves you aren't shannon messenger haha
And here I was thinking it was the fact some of you have seen my face that counted against my shannon-ness! But yeah, I definitely (wink), absolutely (wink), 100% have not (wink) read Stellarlune, the ninth/tenth (it's complicated) book in the kotlc series. I know nothing (wink) about what will happen next or what the secrets are (wink).
Sorry it appears I've got something specifically in only one of my two eyes that I haven't read Stellarlune with, just trying to get it out (wink)

whats the astronomically bad take that prompted that post? asking out of curiosity
Not bad in any sort of funny way, unfortunately, just weird fandom morality stuff that never fails to rub me the wrong way.
I don’t like it when characters being Good People is held up as the most important part of their character and linked to their worth (as “people”) because I just think that’s a really dogshit way to analyze media, for one, but I also think that it can lead to some very weird interpretations where a character is put on a pedestal for their “Goodness” in a way that robs them of the nuance they were written with.
idk. idk. i just personally don’t care if characters are “good.” I think it’s cool and fine if they suck ass, honestly. STOP calling characters i like “good.” STOP SLANDERING MY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visiting a really tiny village on the coast and I am approached by a delightful old man/local historian/fisherman/probably also the mayor idk. He points out the interesting geography and the village’s sailing history, the old pilchard farm, a cave and a loo from the 1800’s.
“Course, back then you’d have to climb all the way down that there cliff just to use the privy.”
Naturally I had to ask. “Can you still get to it?”
And this old man - who’s name I never learnt btw - leads me to a sheer drop over a cliff down into the ocean. He points out the tiniest outcroppings ever and I climb down and I am now standing in an old 1800’s toilet where if you fell you’d die and there is a tiny hole in the rock and moss and oh yeah the ocean at high tide.
“Rather draughty in here!”
And from somewhere above me on the cliff I hear, “Oh yes, indoor plumbing is a wonderful thing, ain’t it?”
“Absolutely! By the way, how did people climb out?”
“Hello?”
“Hello?”
