My version of the wardrobe template! yay!! I had a LOT of fun doing this and feel like I could elaborate a bit more on each of those.

It's already linked up here, but here's once again a > link to the post.< Anyway! More about these designs below!

So first, for WKX's template! - Chapter 2: Grey robes I had already made my design of those for the full TYK lineup I made a while back. I really, really like those, and took inspiration from some of the robes SHL!WKX wears in the show for the shapes. - Chapter 69: dark robes with dark red belt I expected to like that style for him, but not that much! I had seen a tutorial on how asymetrical hanfus were worn by archers in the past and that inspired me, purely on a fashion level of course. I like how intimidating he looks with those and enjoy the touches of blue in the inner layer of the robes. - Chapter 75: dark red robes The GVM robes! which I also designed a while back when researching for the illustrations of the Mt Fengya battle scenes that I wanted to make. I reworked them just a little bit and got rid of some details that I didn't like anymore. I tremendously pleated skirts for WKX so I went at it once again. I also used shifts in hues to make it look like it could have been drenched in blood. - Extra 5: deep red robes For the reminder (since apparently some people are not aware of extra 5's existance), this extra is set 5 years post-canon. I wanted WKX to wear something that looked comfortable for traveling but also practical and fashionable. The teal jacket is of course another nod at SHL since the red and teal combo was an absolute banger. Let's say I didn't want WKX to just sport an all-red look. Furthermore, the teal really works to adorn the red hues. - My personal favourite I actually don't really know whether those are my actual personal favourites, but I've come to LOVE WKX dressed in red and white thanks to @kwehxing's designs. I think it really suits him and on top of that it avoids the question "is this Hua Cheng" LMAO--okay jokes aside, I combined most of the shapes that I really like for WKX (wider shoulders, wide sleeves, and long robes with pleated inner robes) and I find him very elegant like this. Now, for ZZS! - Chapter 1: sapphire blue scholar robes Those had already been designed before as well! They're my go to generic TC!ZZS robes, haha. I was a bit extra with the blue colour here, but oh well. I'm quite obsessed with the silver brocade cynching his waist, haha. - Chapter 2: stolen farmer robes A classic as well as far as I'm concerned--of course, inspired by his hobo fit in SHL because it was quite efficient. I'm forever fond of my scruffy hobo!Xu and his toes poking from his sandals. - Chapter 18: luxurious robes from the Gao family Those were a new design! Which I had a lot of fun coming up with. Putting ZZS in a different colour scheme was also really nice. For those who don't remember, ZZS feels quite ridiculous when he sees himself in a mirror wearing those fancy robes while being so emaciated and still sporting his hobo mask. I wanted to give this "out of place" feeling; and also work on a very "wuxia" style for the robes, since this is jianghu and they were provided by Gao Chong. - Extra 5: black robes I'm incredibly fond of this design. I worked quite a bit on it, since I wasn't sure of where I wanted to go. My main guidelines were: practical and cool. I really like ZZS having a lot of room to move so ideally not too much fabric in the way, and I think he also needs arm braces to be rid of annoying sleeves. Of course, him looking much healthier and having a dynamic ponytail really works to "complete the look", and I find that he looks really cool there haha. - My personal favourite This one has been refined over the months, but it's definitely, overall, my favourite look for him in terms of shapes and construction. I like that the robes are short, I like the more fashionable jacket. I'm especially into the "pants tucked into the boots" silhouette, as well as the little ribbons keeping them tight around the ankles. I'd say that this leg shape + short robes + a bun (or sometimes a ponytail) is THE ZZS design combo for me, haha. It looks practical and fun and adventurous, just how I like it.

To conclude the whole post, I had more fun doing this than I even expected, and needless to say that I'm very excited to see other versions of them following this template. It was a good opportunity to try and project what the characters look like throughout the book, and a fun design exercise as well. I actually don't really like doing character design usually, but for characters I'm obsessed with, it's of course a much nicer experience. Anyway, thank you for reading!

Advice on how to achieve aesthetically pleasing gameplay photos!

this is just some advice from me! this isnt a tutorial or anything of that sort, but I will be linking some things that could be helpful for editing gameplay! :D

First things first, I want to say that I use a graphics overhaul, lighting mods check my resources page for what reshade i use if ur interested.

I love the simple style of gameplay editing so much, but for me I love creating an ambience with my posts and put the audience inside of my gameplay. I also enjoy storytelling with gameplay more than just the "usual" gameplay post (when it comes to me). I am currently playing the globetrotter challenge with my sim Daichi. I really went all out with the editing for that gameplay. For this one its very much a virtual collage of my sim doing things. Trying new things and getting inspired by others is always fun and cool! Remember when u do take inspo: link to the inspiration and @ the simmer that inspired u!!

In my other save (my cozy save) I also take creative liberties there.

its more of a cozy vibe & silent story-telling (storytelling w/o the dialogue). for my cozy save i take inspiration from @/stellarfalls. er gameplay really helped me find my niche thing in the way i play the game tbh!

Angles/Screenshots

When you're taking your screenshots, angles are important. Depending on the shot, you're putting emphasis on a specific thing. This post is very helpful and talks about different types of angles/shots and what they mean. Check it out especially if you want to play around with the way you take screenshots!

Reshade

If I want to create a moody or dreamy ambience I can use reshade. Looking for a reshade that will fit the overall vibe is a must or you can make your own~

i know not everyone is able to use reshade because they're not on windows. I highly recommend using photoshop actions to create that ambience you're looking for.

*These can be used in photopea, but it cant read topaz clean. If you want to achieve topaz clean in photopea, check this post out! just something i'd like to add in case people are new to all of this + dont use photoshop. Lastly, I want to say if you decide to edit photos on photopea, it does tend to crash if you upload a big number of photos and slows down. I usually upload like 6 or 8 and then save and repeat the process. Its kinda annoying, but ive been using photopea for a while now so im used to it. My mac users, use early-grapes butter action if you want things to look cleaner and less harsh!! + the other ps actions down below. I used these a lot when I was a mac user. Of course, that comes with extra steps, but I feel its worth it in the end.

Templates!

I loveeeeeee templates so much!! theres so many out there to use for gameplay. It really adds more to gameplay posts! This can be dust/dirt, film burn, that cute camera template etc etc. templates are really fun to use and play around with~

I usually go on deviantart to find templates to use! if you want to check out my deviantart account you can find it here! I favorite a lot of things I can use for gameplay screenies.

Gifs

making gifs is cool because it brings the gameplay "to life" ~

EZgif is a free website that converts videos to gifs. You'll need a recording program like OBS (which is also free).

i like making gifs when i want to capture a (cute) moment (kisses, hugs, cooking etc etc). Its also cool to capture the weather in game like when its snowing or raining.

Little details

Some people really go all out on editing gameplay posts like adding hair strands and adding more details to sims faces (catchlights, tears, blushing, etc). You dont really have to do this, but I want to mention it anyways! I want to try doing this at some point because I enjoy editing my gameplay posts/photos in general and adding tiny details is fun to me lol. It adds realism to posts, but it isnt necessary!

Procreate is a really good program that you can get if you have an ipad. its 10$ and thats, that. You dont have to make any payments. You can also animate on procreate too if you're down for that!

Find inspiration in other simmers!

the sims community on tumblr is filled with such talented people! Theres lots of gameplay simmers who dont do your typical gameplay posts that you can check out and learn from!!! Ive always struggled with getting the right angles when taking screenies. I looked at other simmers and how they take screenshots & it was really helpful for me since I noticed I would take too many over the shoulder photos on my sims lol.

i had fun with the voice lines aaah but it might have some changes when i’m done with the groovy (and i’ll properly put her in an actual card template)

also slight lore drop from one of the voice lines: yuusha has experience hosting formal parties pre-twst. basically she just locks in (a bit too heavily) when she has hosting duties.

anyways i was just messing around a lot with the outfit design and the colors hgsdfjds

i tried my best making her purple color scheme agree with the limited color palette and i think it worked out??? idk idk--

also the cape was supposed to have patterns similar to the ceremonial robes so as to label her as someone from nrc.

i wanted to include a LOT more ruffles too but i had no patience for lining all of that 🤧

- Barnaby has a crush on her but she doesn’t reciprocate-! Her heart belongs to Wally, whom both are wishy washy about their feelings (don’t wanna admit it u3u)

- She likes Frank but he can get on her nerves sometimes- same for Barnaby, Sally, and Poppy. Like how Poppy’s worries can make her anxious too

- Likes Howdy but can feel sad when ignored even though he’s really just busy—same for Eddie

- She sees Eddie as a father figure which is mainly where her love for him comes from, he’s really sweet 💞 good listener and stuff

This isn't art technically speaking but here's a Smiling Critters Relationship Chart that I wanted to try out after seeying a cool template by @valentinbelleyh505! The colors are a mess so I will try to explain it properly-

- DogDay: as the leader of the Smiling Critters, it's a must that he gets along with everyone! He has a closer relationship with Bobby and Catnap, the latter being his best friend. Though he also gets along pretty well with Bubba and Kickin' so they might gather up to be a somewhat chaotic yet charismatic trio at times.

- Bobby Bearhug: she loves everyone with no exceptions! The critter whom she gets along the most with is Hoppy and she is somewhat interested on Catnap. Not romantically, but she does care about him specially.

- CraftyCorn: despite her shy demeanor, Craftycorn manages to get along with everyone in the group, even though she and Kickin' might clash at times due to his attitude. She really admires Dogday as their leader and gets along with Catnap fairly well, given how the two of them struggle more when it comes to socializing but also enjoy their moments of peace and quiet which they spend together at times. As for her relationship with Bubba it is mostly admiration, but she also has a little crush to him which, of course, she wouldn't dare to confess herself.

- Hoppy Hopscotch: she is probably the most extroverted member out of the bunch along with Dogday, even through she has some dissgreements with her friends at times... Specially Kickin', but they have some sort of love-hate relationship. Though she is kind of oblivious when it comes to romantic feelings. However, that doesn't stop her from showing affection! As she will be there for Bobby as long as she needs, sharing a sister-like bond. And surprisingly, she gets along very well with Catnap, even if their energies and personalities are completely different. But sometimes she could use some calm and he could use some more energy and enthusiasm.

- Catnap: even though he is mostly an introverted soul who spends most of his time sleeping away, the feline doesn't fail when it comes to being in good terms with everyone. The girl whom he gets along with the most is CraftyCorn, given their similar personalities and their struggles. Even if she suggests a fashion or modeling session, Catnap will never mind to join around! He also respects Bubba greatly, seeying him as a wise and big-brother figure, his knowledge of the world will never fail to amuse him. And of course, Dogday is his very best friend, the one he can be the most open to as they understand and support each other no matter what.

- PickyPiggy: with her easygoing attitude, she has mostly good relationships with everyone! Even though her hunger can get the best out of her at times... She really admires CraftyCorn and her artistic abilities. (The neutral relationships are also based on the dynamics their Bigger Bodies versions will have, but I still have to design them so I will elaborate on her relationships later on).

- Kickin'Chickin: even if he might be too much at times, Kickin' is someone who easily gets everyone's aproval! The critters he gets along with the most are Dogday and Bubba, specially the latter as they sorta have a sibling dynamic. And even though he sometimes has a hard time understanding Catnap, they get along just fine. He has a huge crush on Hoppy, but he's too stubborn to admit it so he teases her instead and that leads to frequent arguments. Kind of like an Alvin & Brittany dynamic.

- Bubba Bubbaphant: he's pretty much like the big brother of the group, always willing to help everyone and provide the needed knowledge... Even though he can ramble at times- His closests relationships are with Kickin' and Craftycorn, and he has a secret crush on her that he doesn't speak about since he assumes that she likes Dogday instead. However, he doesn't hold any grudges against the dog for it and instead respects him dearly.

And another take with my OC LoolaLamb! (I will make a good picture and description for her I promise;;) even though canonically/in-game the only critters she would have interacted with properly would be Dogday and Catnap

BUT long story short-

- Dogday: even though she is not a part of the main Smiling Critters, Loola admires Dogday's personality and empathy, seeying him as a role model. She does have a little crush on him but she is afraid to mistake it with a simple affection at times. He does reciprocate her feelings but doesn't know how to grasp or classify such emotions to begin with.

- Bobby Bearhug: due to her loving and affectionate personality, LoolaLamb would feel great comfort around Bobby. She would definitely see her as someone she could trust.

- CraftyCorn: her and Loola would get along given their love for artistic representations. Sometimes they would sit down and write songs together.

- Hoppy Hopscotch: perhaps the energetic rabbit would be a little too much for the lamb, but she would admire her outgoing personality quite a lot.

- Catnap: their relationship is mostly neutral, though Catnap didn't like her much at first as he was afraid that she would replace him (let's just say there was an alternative universe in she didn't). But despite that Loola would be interested on meeting him further if given the chance.

- PickyPiggy: they wouldn't interact too much, but Picky is definitely fond of Loola! And perhaps would ask her to sing quite ofter, much to the lamb's dismay given their lack of confidence at times.

- Kickin'Chicken: the very first time they met and he knew that she could sing, he inmediately challenged her to a musical competition- She found it a little foward and intriguing at first, but in the end Loola ended up finding his attitude quite amusing, he makes her laugh.

- Bubba Bubbaphant: LoolaLamb would see Booba as some sort of authoritarian figure given his extensive amount of knowledge, but she would respect him a lot for that. As to him he does find interest in her musical abilities, but they wouldn't interact as much as the others.

What to expect when you're expecting ☆—

Finally got around to writing how our faves, Honey and Quinner handled their first-ever expectancy with Warren Hughes, ft. their wedding

“Close your eyes, Jack, please don't ruin the surprise,” the girl laughed as she placed her hand over his eyes which he refused to keep shut, her other hand swatting him in the shoulder as Ellen scolded her middle child.

Quinn and Honey quietly walked around the living room to retrieve the Christmas presents they hid from the entire Hughes family. Tiny shadow boxes for the Hughes and one for each of Honeys family who they would be visiting later in the day. Little displays of sonograms paired with baby onesies, sat perfectly behind a layer of glass, Honey grinned as she placed one on the boy's laps and a shared one for Jimmy and Ellen. A tiny Michigan onesie paired with a sonogram for Luke, a Devils for Jack, and one that said “the newest member of team Hughes” on it for Jim and Ellen

It was perfect.

“I’m so excited,” Ellen said as she felt the cool glass of her gift, secretly hoping for something homemade from the couple, loving the more thought-out gifts compared to anything else.

Luke let out a sigh as he awaited being allowed to simply open his eyes, “can we look now?” the built-up suspense was beginning to kill him. Quinn shook his head with a laugh, “You can now,” taking a deep breath as he took his spot next to Honey on the carpet. Intertwining their fingers as she leaned her head against his shoulder, he placed a kiss on the crown of her head as all of the remaining Hughes family members let out gasps.

“You’re kidding!” Ellen it for a moment longer before putting the gift in Jim’s lap and hopping out of her spot on the couch and hugging the two of them.

Tears in her eyes as she swayed them back and forth, “I’m crying, my babies,” she wiped her tears and pulled away to look Honey in the eyes, “Are you showing?”

Honey shrugged as she uncovered the slight bump, “I’m only about five weeks, which is kinda early to announce it to you guys but I just couldn't wait, I kinda just look bloated,” she joked as she looked back to Jack who had tears in his eyes.

Luke’s jaw was dropped and Jack was extremely emotional as the couple turned their attention to them. “We’re gonna be uncles,” Luke said with a growing smile as he got up and hugged Honey, “holy shit you guys are gonna have a baby” "yeah we are," Quinn mumbled as a teary-eyed Jack lunged forward to hug his older brother.

"I thought I was gonna have the best gifts this year," he joked as Honey let out a laugh, the boy turning to her and diving at her and capturing her in a hug, "this is the best present ever!"

"Honey, are you two sure you want to have the wedding before you have the baby? No one is forcing you to get married before," her mom said as she looked at the template for the invitation in her email. Honey let out a sigh as she sat bundled up in a blanket on the couch, Quinn was out on a roadie as she was tucked away in the house trying to get started with the planning on their wedding, "I just really want to marry him, mom, it was happening soon with or without the baby," she huffed and shut the laptop.

This had been a topic of conversation with not only her mother, but her father, and a few of her work friends. Seemingly the most tiring conversation she'd ever had, seeing as everyone believed the two only wanted to get married because of the baby, which was not the case. Honey and Quinn already knew that their end game was marriage, it was something they both dreamt about in the near future, already having it planned out months before the proposal or the baby.

"I know honey, you guys are in love, I just don't want you to stress yourself out and something happen to you or the baby," she said softly, trying to reason with her daughter who had been contrary as of late and filled with pregnancy hormones. "I know," she took a sip of her tea, "I just feel like we've been having this conversation for weeks and I haven't changed my thoughts on it, and I'm not stressed, I've looked into a planner to help me with everything, and Quinn is just a dream, per usual." "well as long as you have it under control, I can't wait to see you walk down the aisle,” her mom said in a gentle tone as she settled in bed next to Honey’s father.

“Speaking of walking down the aisle, I really want you and Ellen here when I try on my dress, I’ll pay for your ticket, I really want my mom there to help me pick out the dress for the big day,” honey smiled as she listened to the excited squeal her mom let out on the other end.

“Of course, I’ll be there sweetheart whenever you need me there, I’ll be on the first flight out,” she said contently

Quinn grinned as he watched Honey unpack her grandmother's vintage jewellery, a smile on her face as she looked up and Quinn as she picked up her rehearsal dinner dress and laid it out on the hotel bed, "we are gonna be husband and wife in less than twenty-four hours" "I know, I'm so excited," he smiled as he propped himself up on his elbow, his hand motioning for her to lean down so he could press a kiss to her lips.

"you getting cold feet yet?" she questioned with a smirk as she pulled away from his lips, smiling at the way he chased her for another kiss. "I could never, maybe a little nervous, but not because I'm marrying you, that's all I've ever wanted," he confessed with a nervous laugh as she flushed at the response, his arms wrapping around her waist to pull her onto the bed, laid right on top of him. "Good"

"Have you picked a best man yet?" Honey asked as he peppered kisses on her cheek, "You've been putting it off." "Well since we've decided to name our firstborn after Luke I think it's only appropriate to make Jack the best man, plus Luke didn't write a speech for the reception and Jack did so I think he should be rewarded for that," he said halting the soft kisses to look at her jaw as he held her face in his hands just staring at her for a second, taking in that last few alone moments they were gonna have before their week-long honeymoon in Italy before they headed back to Michigan for the start of off-season training and getting ready for the arrival of their baby boy.

"I can't wait for tomorrow, Mrs Hughes." A wide grin danced on her lips as she collapsed next to him on the bed, "I think I just swooned" she whispered as she placed a kiss on his shoulder, his hand finding comfort on her now-showing stomach.

“Quinn is going to bawl his eyes out when he sees you,” Ellen said with tears in her eyes as she straightened the flower crown that sat on top of Honey's head, “my only daughter,” she said, trying to hold back the tears that were bound to fall. “Thank you, Ellen, for everything,” Honey whispered with a smile, choking back tears as she hugged her mother-in-law.

The bride pulled away, fanning her face as she tried to hold back the tears threatening to spill, “have you seen Quinn this morning?” “He’s been itching to see you all morning” she laughed as she fixed the vintage necklace that hung from the bride's neck, a smile on her lips as she looked up at the blue earrings that hung from her ears, Hughes family heirlooms.

Honey smiled warmly, as she thought about how nervous Quinn must be, knowing how much he hates photos and public speaking. Wondering if he had as equally a rough sleep as her without her occupying her side of the mattress.

“I miss him” “Girl it’s been twelve hours, you will see him soon,” one of Honey’s cousins spoke from behind her as Ellen smiled from ear to ear. “I should go make sure my other two sons are being behaved,” Elle said as she squeezed Honey’s hand and went to find Luke, Jack, and Jim.

The conversations in the room grew louder and louder as the anticipation for the big moment grew, with every second Honey’s nerves seemed to triple.

“I’m gonna get some air,” the bride mumbled to her mom and wedding planner. “I’ll escort you outside,” Sheila, her planner offered with a smile as her mom rubbed her back. “No no, I’m just nauseous, probably just the baby,” she said pointing at her stomach as she excused herself into the hall trying to find the nearest exit to the vineyard to get some air.

The backs of her hands pressed against her cheeks, flushed with nerves as she stumbled upon a man sitting on a bench with his head in his hands. “You sure you’re not getting cold feet?” Honey asked with a smile as Quinn looked up at her, lost for words as she shuffled forward and took a seat next to him. “I’m uh- you look, god I can’t even explain how beautiful you look” he finally looked her in the eyes, his face flushed shyly. “You look very handsome as well,” she mumbled as her hands reached forward and straightened the tie on his neck, then racked her fingers through his hair to return it to his previously styled look.

Quinn's eyes bounced around her face as examined the way the dress sat perfectly on her silhouette, accentuating her bust and waist, all while perfectly concealing her baby bump. Hair falling just perfectly past her shoulders, the flower crown on her head making her eyes look warm and soft. “Isn’t it bad luck to see the bride before the wedding?” He asked as he reached out for her hand, her head leaning against his shoulder as they watched their guests starting to arrive. She shrugged, “Probably, but I don’t care, I needed this,” Honey whispered as she lifted his hand up to kiss his knuckles, her other hand resting on her stomach as she took a deep breath.

"You have trouble sleeping last night?" she asked as she looked up at him. Quinn laughed and nodded, Honey's stomach did flips as she drank in his laugh, "I was so anxious all night, not to mention Trevor and Jack's loud snoring throughout the night."

“You're about to be my wife,” he grinned, as he stared up at the sun peaking through the leaves of the trees. "I know, I can't wait," she said with a quiet squeal before she looked at the watch on Quinn's wrist, "I should probably get back for pictures," she said quietly as Quinn nodded and stood up with her. "See you in an hour, Mrs. Hughes," he said with a smile as she flushed and headed back inside the venue.

☆☆☆☆ "Quinn," she gasped and tensed up, her hand trying to find him, "he's kicking me!" she squealed quietly, pushing his shoulder, attempting to wake him up.

The two of them had gotten back from their trip to Italy, beautifully tanned and very jetlagged, excited to get back to Michigan to start getting ready for their baby boy.

Quinn tired rolled over, his hands raking through his curls as he nuzzled his face into her cheek, “what’s wrong?” Honey rolled her eyes and took ahold of his hand, placing it on her lower stomach, Quinn fully awoke in seconds, his eyes widened as he looked up from the bump to the exasperated smile dancing on his wife's lips.

"He's kicking," he said in a state of shock as the baby finally settled, "he's so perfect already," he sigh and laid back down on his pillow, still facing Honey as she yawned. "I'm so excited to meet him," Honey mumbled as she felt Quinn's lips press against her shoulder, a soft smile on her lips as Quinn wrapped an arm around her torso. A short hum of the agreement left Quinn's mouth as he snuggled into her side, she finally settled down, her hand intertwined with the one he draped over her mid-drift as she closed her eyes and let sleep take over.

Ellen squealed as she shorted through the array of baby clothes that were currently taking up the entire guest bedroom closet, tiny gender-neutral outfits (I like the idea that Honey and Quinn keep the baby's gender between themselves, kinda like a little intimate secret all to themselves), muted orange and yellow onesies laid out of the bed. Honey and Ellen began to pack her hospital bag for the approaching day, only three weeks away, and soon a new Hughes baby would be welcomed into the world.

"You getting excited?" Ellen asked as she sorted through all of the gifts from the baby shower, bags of baby blankets, diapers, soothers, and so many other baby essentials. Honey smiled as she began folding and organizing all of the baby's outfits, "I'm so excited, but I'm so scared at the same time," she said in a soft tone as Ellen stopped in her tracks. the older woman sitting down on the edge of the bed beside her, "I'm all ears if you want to talk it through, I've been through this three times now so I can walk you through all of it," she said as she encouragingly rubbed her daughter-inlaws shoulder. Honey sighed, "I'm fine with birth, I'm just so scared of the after, I sometimes feel incapable to take care of myself so I'm just scared to let him down."

Ellen shook her head, and smiled, "All new moms feel like that, you're going in blind, so it's totally normal to be intimidated" she said hugging the young woman, "but I promise you I will be here whenever you need me, I'm just a plane away, and I mean whenever."

Honey's eyes began to water as she hugged her mother-in-law back, "Thank you, Ellen, for the support, and the love over the years." "hun, you've been my family for nearly ten years, I will always be in your corner," Ellen said, tears now in her eyes as she pressed a kiss to her daughter's cheek, "you have any problem at all, even if it's regarding my son, call me and I will handle it."

Quinn and Honey were out to breakfast the morning of August 29th, and the entire day from that breakfast and well into the afternoon felt off. Breakfast ended abruptly when Honey began to get angsty, that strong nesting instinct that the doctors had warned about was now in full swing, needing to be as close to home as possible at all times just in case. A strong need for everything to be clean and prepared for the moment the baby came, she felt off at all times. Tired and nauseous as her due date snuck up on her.

It was just after dinner when her water broke, Honey had opted out of laying in bed to sit back and admire Quinn while he trained with his brothers in their garage. "Fuck," she gasped as she stood up and one of the first contractions hit, "Quinn, we need to go," she said looking down at her maternity overalls. Quinn, Jack, and Luke all looked up confused before seeing the fear that rested behind her eyes, followed by a hiss of pain as she sat back down, doing breathing exercises as she waited for this contraction to pass.

"shit, shit, okay" Quinn walked over to her and lowered himself to be face-to-face with her, "can I help walk you to the car?" he asked as his hands held her face in them. "yes please" she cried as she squeezed his wrist. "Jack you go get me the keys and the go bag which is in the entrance closet," Quinn demanded, watching as Jack went from shocked to running in the direction of the house, "Luke call Mom and Dad, and Hun's parents," Luke nodded and immediately had the phone up to his ear.

"Are you ready for this pretty girl?" he said brushing the hair out of her face. Honey nodded slowly as her eyes squinted, wincing in pain. "Then let's go have this baby"

Warren was born early the next morning, after nearly twelve hours of intense labour, Quinn nearly passing out from anxiety, and many other bumps in the road that the nurses kept referring to as the 'miracles of birth'.

"He's here!" the Doctor announced as she wiped the little boy off and placed him right onto Honey's chest, tears rolling down her face as she examined her little boy's face. She looked up at Quinn with tears in her eyes, "we did it!" she whispered as her thumb ran over the soft skin of the baby's back. "That was all you Hun, I was just here holding your hand," Quinn said with tears in his eyes as he leaned down and placed a kiss on his wife's lips, tasting the saltiness of her tears as he pulled away to look adoringly at his son and wife. "You almost passed out," the young woman smirked, mockingly, as Quinn laughed and wiped his tears away.

Quinn silently sobbed the moment the nurse suggested that Quinn did skin-on-skin with the infant, barely able to wrap his mind around the idea that this little baby was his. a product of his love for his wife and a new direction in his life. "you okay love?" Honey asked as she watched the boy silently cry, exhaustion filling her voice as she looked over to her husband and baby. "yeah I'm okay," he assured before going silent once again.

Jack and Luke were the final immediate family members to come into the delivery room after the birth, smiles on their faces and bouquet of flowers in their hands as they knocked on the door. "Wash your hands." was the first thing that left Quinn's mouth as he opened the door for his brothers. Happy smiles took over their faces as she saw Honey holding the little bundle in her arms.

"Sooo what's their name?" Jack grinned as he was motioned to sit on the recliner next to the bed, tears filling his eyes as Quinn placed the small baby in his arms. "Meet Warren Haye Hughes, our first son" Honey smiled as she looked over to a shocked Luke, his face going from some form of shy into a dropped jaw as he leaned forward and hugged his sister-in-law. Luke pulled still in shock, "you're serious?" he questioned while turning to his oldest brother and pulling him into a tighter hug. "never been more serious in my life Moosey," Quinn said in tears, this new fatherhood thing had made him extremely soft in the past three hours.

No one paid attention to Jack as he mumbled quiet promises to the baby, tears rolling down his cheeks as the baby's hand reached out and took hold of the tip of his finger.

"My turn?" Luke said with a grin as he looked between the new parents for some sort of confirmation. Jack looked up with furrowed brows, "I just got to meet him though" Quinn tapped Jack on the shoulder, "I want to talk to you in the hall, so hand him over and you can hold him when we get back," Quinn motioned towards the door, looking over to Honey who smiled at him with rosy cheeks. "Okay"

Jack followed his older brother into the hallway, a confused expression on his face as Quinn shut the door behind him, "congrats by the way, I'm proud of you," Jack said lowly, being careful not to disrupt any of the hospital staff or sleeping people waiting for their family members. "Thanks," Quinn said with a grin.

"Honey and I have been discussing godparents for a while and the first name we both decided on was you, we want you to be Warren's godfather" Quinn barely got to finish his little speech before Jack pulled him into a bone-crushing hug. "Holy shit Quinn, of course," he said as Quinn hugged him back, "I will do everything possible to make sure he's always safe and loved" The tears began to start up again as he finally pulled away from his big brother's hold.

"I can't believe you're a dad," Jack said as he readjusted his hat and patted his brother on the back. "I know," he mumbled as he opened the door to see his wife and little brother laughing as they admired the baby, "it's fucking surreal."

She LOVES giving her hugs and complimenting her on her art when she can. She's such a talented artist! Bubba can be a bit much sometimes, but she doesn't mind at all. She listens to him talk on, and then she can share info she knows! But... She's a bit worried though, knowing the elephant, he stays up very often. Why he stays up, she doesn't know... She just hopes he's ok. Hoppy... Oh Hoppy. Where does she start? She's always at her games to cheer her on, even if she loses, she's there to congratulate her on being so cool! She loves watching her run around, kick the ball, everytime she cheers when she scores... It makes her heart soar!! ❤ She knows it's love, but she doesn't know how to tell her. Kickin is cool too! Not as cool as Hoppy, but still epic nonetheless. She likes being friends with him and he's actually really good at the sports he does. Though that chicken can be a little dumb sometimes, oh well. Dogday! The leader! He's always so sunny and cheerful! She loves talking with him, giving him hugs galore! He's the one that likes the hugs the most. His fur is so soft, and he even helps her out with valentine's day presents for everyone. Who could ask for a better leader?

Picky Piggy :

Bobby is a nice gal. Always there to cheer someone up. Hell, she's helped with gardening, keeping the barn good, and baking/cooking goods. Though, she can be TOO touchy sometimes, she's trying her best to learn boundaries, so she isn't pushing too much. Catnap, she doesn't care too much about. She stays out of his way, he stays out of hers. He's weird, yes, but as long as she's not bothering him, he doesn't interact. The only time they Eben kinda talk is during group activities or when they need to sleep... Creepy. Crafty is kinda silly sometimes. She makes great art, yet never seems to understand that! She always thinks she can be better, but she's already good enough. Picky herself has tried to paint, but isn't the best. Bubba is nice to talk to. He rambles on sometimes, but never really is too annoying. She doesn't mind being around him. Although he has insisted she eat less, and she's tried, but it ain't easy when you're a pig known for eating. She just ain't the best at that. Kickin and Hoppy are very similar in many ways, the most notable being they're both sporty and energetic. She likes them, they're not bad, but they have tried getting her to do a bunch of sports she doesn't care about. She's told them, and they backed off, but they keep doing it, and it's a bit annoying. Though she finds the sibling rivalry they have funny. Dogday is very nice! He's always happy and go lucky, with a big grin, an idea, and an adventure. He's energetic, yes, but not to the point she is annoyed by him. He's always trying to make sure everyone is happy and having fun, and she likes that about him.

Catnap :

He hates them all. They're so.. FUCKING ANNOYING. They talk and talk, running around.. They even pull him along on their shitty adventures! And they're always asking him to help when they can't sleep. Oh how he wishes.. HOW HE WISHES HE COULD MAKE THEM SLEEP FOREVER TO DIE AND FADE AWAY INTO OBSCURITY! He can... He knows he can, the red gas was made to put people to sleep so that [REDACTED]. But something is stopping. Not something. SOMEONE. That damn, annoying, cheerful dog. What was his problem? He was always smiles, tail wags, and happy arua and.. He... Didn't know why, but it made him feel something other than rage and anger... Something that made his own tail sway and made him heat up. What was wrong with him, why was he like this? He hated it, but also liked it..? That canine is the only reason he's even staying, why he even joined... He hates it. He hates this feeling, he hates everything but that dog! Stupid dog. .... He knows this will all come to an end. They'll figure it out eventually, that elephant already is trying to, he knows he is. He can see the elephant staring at him, analyzing him. He's seen nights where he stays up, looking up and reading through books. If he wasn't stealthy, he would have been caught by now. He wants to put him to sleep, but the chicken always comes and does that for him. That's the only time he's thankful that elephant is gay. He doesn't have to worry too much. But, still... He has to stop this. He can't let them find out. And he knows how.

CraftyCorn :

Bobby is also so kind and nice. She comes over everyday, and everyday, Crafty shows her her art! Whether that be a new piece, a WIP, an updated version of the art before, Bobby didn't care. Bobby just always loved to see how she improved, and Crafty always loved getting compliments from her. All of these love and affection she was getting showered with resulted in her gaining a bit of a crush on the lovey bear. Picky is an interesting person to be around. She's always making goods, and always sharing them with the others. Though Picky leaves most of it for herself, Crafty still finds their friendship good. So yeah. Picky isn't the best painter, but she can always teach her! Catnap is nice. She was the first person Dogday introduced him to, since they're close friends, and she found him nice. Crafty would often show him her art, knowing the cat didn't care or mind. She didn't need words, just needed a head nod and a thumbs up. They don't talk, and Crafty doesn't mind. She likes to sit in silence while Catnap just stared at her art. Or at her. She didn't know, but he was always quiet, and she never minded. Bubba and her talk. He's always supportive of her, and she can proudly show her art to him. Like a dad! She comes up to him, he asks what she needs, and she shows him her art, which he compliments. He also gives feedback and comments about her art to help her improve, which she enjoys. He explains and teaches her things too, like math and science. He's gotten her art tools to help with her art. Hoppy is nice to be around. She's energetic, fun, and loves getting dirty and messy with her. But she can be a bit too energetic and fast, which she can't keep up with at times. But they're good friends! Kickin is a prankster, but also one of the coolest people she knows! He's always doing some cool and awesome stunt fearlessly, and she appreciates that about him! She's the polar opposite of him, shy, reserved, nervous... He's so cool, she just wishes she could be even the factor of awesome he is! She gained a crush on him a while back and confessed, but he politely turned her down since he did not feel the same way. But they're still good friends, nothing changed there. The crush eventually went away. Dogday, one of her best friends! He's always running around playing, and she loves to join in. He's always showing her affection and helps plan out her art contests. She and Dogday like to go on walks through the park, and Dogday talks while Crafty sketches what she sees. She likes being around him. Though Catnap always stares at her when she hugs Dogday when he's around. Whatever..

Bubba Bubbaphant :

Bobby is a very kind and caring person. Every time he's down in the dust, she comes along to try and make him feel better. Sure she can be a bit TOO clingy and touchy sometimes, so he has to tap her shoulder with his trunk, but she's still very sweet and motherly to everyone. Though he doesn't like it when she tries to play match maker since that isn't how the mind works you can't just put people together and make it work. Picky and him don't really have a relationship in his eyes. He's tried helping with her eating a bunch of food, but she eventually gives up, so he's instead advised her to eat healthy foods. He's still trying, but it's not that easy. Catnap. He doesn't know what that.. Thing is. It's a cat, yes, but he's not like them. That weird smoke he produces, the fact they are obsessed with it when he breathes it out... Begging for more, begging to sleep... And the weird thing is, the others are just... FINE WITH THIS? This isn't normal, HE'S NOT NORMAL. He's tried researching everything, day and night, best he's found so far is that California Poppy flowers have been known to help with sleep disorders, they're no where near California! Dogday should have never taken this cat in, it's driving him insane trying to figure out what the hell Catnap is. He doesn't want to admit it but. Catnap scares him. He hates him, and yet, he's scared to anger him. Something is wrong with that cat.. He... Maybe he just needs more s l e e p... Crafty is basically his daughter. She's always looking towards him for help or guidance on her art, and he agrees, teaching her about color theory and how to draw certain things. He even gets her art supplies and other tools on her birthday and other holidays. He loves seeing her improve and get better over time. It makes him happy. Hoppy and him don't really have a relationship, much like Picky. He is impressed with her skill and endurance while sporting, but they don't really talk to much. Kickin, the dare devil, and his amazing boyfriend. He's always there for his games, to watch him surf (and also make sure he doesn't wipe out), and all in all being a supportive boyfriend. Kickin is so crazy sometimes, and Bubba can't help but find that so cute and adorable. Especially when he first met the guy. Bubba wishes he could be as strong and brave as him, but he knows Kickin loves him being the nerdy and smart guy he is, so he wouldn't change that for the world. When Bubba is stressed out and on the brink of a breakdown, he will ring up Kickin, who will rush down and comfort the elephant. This is the same for the amount of nights he's spent staying up researching. Kickin will just go into his house, and if Bubba's still up, he's dragging him to bed to sleep. He fights back, but it falls on deaf ears as he snuggles with him. He loves him as much as can. Dogday was always someone he found interesting. His huge bursts of energy, excitement, and the want to make sure everyone is included intrigued him. He never knew how the dog had so much in him, but he never cared too much. It is nice to see he was happy as always at least. He's tried asking and telling him about Catnap and how maybe getting them addicted to the red smoke he produced is not good for them, but he always has to look on the bright side of everyone. It's a nice trait, but it's also detrimental when Catnap is most likely hurting them. He just wishes the dog wasn't so naive...

Hoppy Hopscotch :

She and Bobby always had a great relationship, finding comfort in one another. Bobby cheers her on at her matches with Kickin, and she helps Bobby work out. Though what shocked her the most about the nice, respectable, motherly bear is the sheer strength that women possesses. She thought she was strong, yet that women had muscle. She always found it hot though, so she can't complaining. Especially when she can get carried after a tough match. So she happily takes it. She can't wait to ask her out. Picky is nice. She makes amazing food, and she likes rough housing sometimes. Though while she tries to get Picky to work out and pay sports, the gal always turns down the favor, not liking to or wanting to, which she respects (for the most part). But she's still nice! She doesn't mind Catnap. They don't get to interact much, since she's always running around and he much rather sleep the whole day. The only times they interact is when she accidentally bumps into him while he's sleeping or when he's helping them with sleep. Catnap seems like a nice guy though! Crafty was fun to tease sometimes. The girl is always shy and jumpy, so it can be funny to prank her sometimes. Though she knows she can be very easily scared, so she always puts it on the low for her pranks. She also knows that she shouldn't make her mad... That didn't go well when she ACCIDENTALLY ruined one of the paintings she was working on.. Hoppy couldn't play soccer with a broken leg. But they're good friends, even after that! Bubba can be annoying at times, always talking about his science mumbo jumbo, whatever (no clue what the hell Kickin sees in him). It can get very boring very fast for her, she doesn't really care at all about it. But he's not a bad person, he's the one they go to for medical help when they get hurt after all. He's trained and knows much more than she ever could, so she respects him for that. She just wishes he wouldn't ramble on sometimes. Ah, Kickin! Her enemy and rival... Or well, brother. She and Kickin have been siblings for a long time now, ever since her parents found the small egg in a bush while walking, thus took him in. She grown attached, and ever since, they've been the sporty duo who fight to win. Even though he has WAY too much of an ego sometimes, he's a good brother and she wouldn't ever ask for anyone else. She loves to pull his leg and mess with the ego filled chicken, though sometimes it backfires on her. Like the time she started the "prank wars" with him. It resulted in both her and him getting scolded and being put in "time out" essentially. She and Dogday get along very well! He's the most energetic out of everyone, even Kickin, so getting to run around with him and play all sorts of fun hyperactive games really helps with all the energy she saves up. He also is really good at fetch, so they will often play it. Fun guy all around! No wonder he's the leader.

KickinChicken :

Bobby and him get along, she loves to just show him affection to the max, and he doesn't mind it. Except for sometimes when she just runs up to him and hugs him out of the blue. He doesn't like that. He also hates it when she just states hugging him without asking. Though she had tried to improve and stop doing that, which he likes. So she's not that bad! He doesn't mind Picky that much. He wished she would play sports with them more, but he can't force her. She makes food for their events, which he enjoys, so she's not that bad. But they just don't interact a lot. Catnap is ok. He helps them sleep when they can't, like a thundering night or after a nightmare, so the guy's cook. But Bubba had gone on rants about the guy and how something wasn't right about him, making him a little afraid or scared of the guy. Though Bubba could just be anxious and paranoid, so he's still giving Catnap the benefit of the doubt. Crafty is a sweet girl! Kind, shy, nervous, and a great artist! Though he overlooks the girl due to her quietness, he also sees her as a friend. He tries to teach her how to speak louder and be more assertive, but the poor woman can't bring herself to do so, thinking she'll come off mean and rude, no matter how much he reassures her. Her art is amazing, but she's so shy she couldn't even show him at first since she thought he was gonna find it childish and dumb. He wishes she could express herself more. Bubba! What a sweet gentleman. Always telling him new facts and things he found out, and when he sees a cool plant, that man will list off what plant it is, how to grow it, and what not. He also helps him when he gets hurt, which is often, so he's thankful for that. He's there to comfort him when he gets scared (which is easily) and make sure he's ok. He loves playing with Bubba's big floppy ears when he's stressed. It calms him down, and helps him relax. Anyways, both he and Bubba make mistakes, yes, like the time he and him had a small argument because he accidentally broke one of Bubba's favorite mugs, but he wouldn't love anyone else. He just loves snuggling into that guy. He couldn't get enough! He also always helps the other with his sleeping issues, since that poor guy has been staying up more often. So he goes over, drags him to bed, then cuddles with him under a weighted blanket. It helps Bubba fall asleep. He wishes he could stop staying up multiple nights, but he insists that it's for a reason and that he has to continue his research. But he'll continue to help him, no matter what. Hoppy, his sister, is a pain in the ass. But also his friend. She always teases him and messes with him just to spite him. She's been like that for years. He and her fight about random small things, and always try to beat and top the other in what they're doing, causing a competition between them. A constant battle basically. They're always at each other trying to be better than the other, whether that be in sport, baking, running, anything. Like siblings always do. She's a great big sister though, has helped him through tough times, and he can't be more grateful. Dogday is like that guy you always see around the block. Always running, always doing things, always happy and excited, and just a great guy overall. He goes to him when he needs to plan things with the group or ask him when an we went is happening. He also goes to him just to pay video games and fetch with him, since the dog loves that game. He's so sweet sometimes.

Dogday :

He finds everyone as his best friend! They're all nice to him and, as their leader, he must make sure everyone is happy and included! However, Bubba has been telling him that Catnap could be a danger to the group, and how the red smoke is causing problems for them, and how maybe Catnap isn't a good person... He doesn't understand though! Catnap is such a sweet, adorable, quiet kitty that sleeps a lot. There's nothing wrong with him, he thinks that at least. Speaking of which, Catnap. He's been having these strange happy feelings lately around him. His purring is calming, the way he yawns and curls back up is so cute, and when he's all sleepy and tired.. He's just a ball of adorableness! Is that a word? He doesn't know. But it's how Catnap is! He just wants to give him all the kisses in the world! He's talked with Bobby about the feelings, and she says it's love. He's not sure yet though if it is love or not. Maybe he just... Really likes his best friend! That's it. Maybe...

I've had this link bookmarked since ages. I can't seem to load the page. I've tried all sorts of browsers and it is still not working. i wanted to get back into actively learning HV again and duolingo is kinda annoying so. Is there a different page/resource the wiki has moved on to? I also seem to recall an old forum for HV with a bunch of really good resources for it. is it possible for you to provide a link? ...is a labor of love—not just from me, but from a team of dedicated individuals who want to get information about my languages up somewhere more or less permanent, editable by many, and all in one place.

For years I have had a hosting plan from DreamHost. For a fixed fee, DreamHost allows you, essentially, infinite storage. I've got a dozen or so websites hosted by the same DreamHost account. I have to pay for the urls (a yearly fee; everyone pays these), but the hosting itself is covered, no matter if I had one website or a hundred.

Creating a wiki that would function like Wiktionary was my idea. I love Wiktionary, and love the idea behind it. For example, let's say you wanted to look up mate. This is an English word. It's also a subjunctive form of matar "to kill" in Spanish. It's also the word for "saliva" in Swahili. It's also "dead" in Tahitian. It's also a word in several other languages. It's kind of cool to take an abstract form—going just by spelling—and seeing that it's a word in a bunch of different languages, all with different etymologies (some related, of course. For example, mate has something to do with death in a lot of Oceanic languages. In Hawaiian it's make, which looks like an entirely different English word!).

In Dothraki, the word tor is the number four. It comes from Proto-Plains *tur (and so would be tur in Lhazareen). It's also the word for "tower" in Hen Linge (this is one of the words coined by Andrzej Sapkowski, not created by me). In Noalath, from The Shannara Chronicles, it's the word for "wolf", and in Shiväisith, the language I created for the Dark Elves from Thor: The Dark World, it's the word for "sword". While it's true I didn't create the Hen Linge word, I created the others, so you can see it's a form I'm fond of, where the shape is possible.

Anyway, that's kind of cool! And that was the point of the site.

As it happens, the High Valyrian section of the site is…massive. To give you an idea, at the moment, the wiki has over 220,000 pages. Most of those are High Valyrian pages. This is because there's a dedicated team for High Valyrian that has added pages for every single noun, adjective, and verb inflection for every existing word on the wiki. To give you an idea, every verb of High Valyrian has around 200 forms (ipradagon "to eat", ipradan "I eat", ipradā "you eat", ipradas "s/he/it eats", etc.). Every single form for every single verb has its own page. This was accomplished primarily with a program that populated the inflectional pages, but however they got there, they're there.

Certain things on the wiki are templates that need to go through and "check" every single page. Additionally, a webcrawler goes through and checks every single page on the wiki. This requires a lot of RAM. As a result, periodically, the entire website just...shuts down.

Obviously this is not cool. I asked DreamHost about it, and though we have infinite space, we don't have infinite RAM. The first step was to disable all web crawlers. You know about SEO, and how you can do things to increase the page rank of your site? Well, we needed to do the opposite. We needed to make the site disappear from the net, effectively. And we did. This is why even if you type "David J. Peterson wiki language invention" into Google you get nothing. It's like we don't exist. We're there, but you have to know we're there and go to the site specifically. That helped, but our own programs still shut things down.

The second step was to get a private server (technically a virtual private server) for the site. This cost me an extra $25 a month ($300 a year) from what I was already paying. This definitely helped, but sometimes things get to be a bit too much, and so the site still shuts down. This is what you experienced.

You know how Wikipedia begs you for money every year? It's because of this. It's one thing to create an awesome resource; it's another thing for people to actually use it.

Hosting already costs me about $250 every two years, and every year I renew the urls for about 15 websites, which is another $300 a year. If I upgrade the VPS to the next level, it's even more money every year. And that's just me paying it.

Right now, we're in an okay spot. The site shuts down every so often, but most of the time it's more or less stable. Unless I start making a lot more money regulary, that's the way it's going to stay.

So if you go to the site and it's down, I'm very sorry, but it will be back. May take a few days, but it'll come back (as long as I'm alive, anyway).
