Itoshi Rin takes only thirty minutes to warm up and then another thirty to actually warm up, to hit peak performance in his workout. 

The sweat trickling from his hair, sticking to his forehead, now reaches the sides of his cheek— hot and regulatory, jaw clenched unconsciously as he does it, the blood is rushed pumping to his arteries and his eyes are dead set staring at the living room couch just in front of him, fixated at the leather and its crevice linings that spread throughout. 

When alone, he is always far too focused and absorbed in himself that he never pays attention to his surroundings, not in the slightest. Only to the current fast-paced beating of his heart and the grip on the ground to steady himself in his push-ups. And the voice in his head to keep at it, push, push, push. 

More notably, in doing so he does not realize immediately that someone has slipped between his arms that ground him, beneath his leveled torso, that it seems wrong otherwise in this position — something ensnaring itself in his hold.

Even though a trap is far from the intention.

You never fail to take him by surprise, even after all these years of dating you. 

It makes Rin feel restless in a slightly irritating yet somewhat… endearing way. You take him by a stupid kind of surprise but it can be nice.

(Just a bit. He would never admit it to you outright, though. He’s always afraid of what can rush to your head easily. There’s no stopping you then.

Not that you ever could be stopped.)

He feels like a cat — enjoying its solitude and peace as it relaxes, lounging — flinching away from its owner who suddenly lunges (often) at the poor thing with its overwhelming affection and love, leaving it wide-eyed and flustered every single time, processing the shocking betrayal of its peaceful afternoon.

The exact same scenario is applicable here. Though, that’s said in loose terms. Rin is, after all, not a cat — and you are not his owner. 

Yet, you persist as if you are. You are a nuisance — by his definition loosely. (One he denies on the inside, but that’s digressing.)

“What the hell?”

The pang in his heart is purely from shock and the interruption of his workout, and definitely not because of the sloppy grin that adorns your features, soft and tender eyes staring up at him when he meets them, his own widened.

(Your grin with intent, totally scheming intent, he thinks. Bewitching, even. Usually harmless, in fact, but that’s digressing again.)

“Sorry, sorry!” You squeak beneath him, toothy grin stretched as you lift your hands (in an attempt) to push him back up, help steady his grip — not that he needs it after all, he manages just fine. “Don’t mind me. Just enjoying the view.”

Rin grimaces in response.

You always argue it’s a compliment, a playful one that reminds him of how much you find yourself attracted to him, but he only blankly stares at you each time — like now. Because he doesn’t want you to think you’re as charismatic as you try to be. He has never found you so, in fact, and he won’t in the foreseeable future.

(There is not a threat of a grin on his own face at this moment, not one. Not a single one.) 

There is visible redness to his cheeks, against that, and a crease beneath his lashes that seems to be the grimace but it’s an unconscious attempt to not appear flustered, not in the slightest. 

He argues it’s the intensity of the workout, in his head.

“What do you think you’re doing?” He says.

You pout and he grimaces even more.

“Well, if I were to answer that correctly I would say that I think I’m doing something to annoy you—per usual—but,” You quip, bringing a finger to his chest. “I will say the truth instead. I just want to try something cute with my boyfriend. Any harm in that?” 

Rin only blinks, and surprisingly his irritation hasn’t set in — not just yet. It is about to, though.

(If irritation in this scenario meant the rate of his heart spiking due to unwarranted… cuteness; he feels the word at the tip of his tongue and it makes him want to throw up. It’s too much, he thinks.

So, yes perhaps. There is harm, a weird one to his psyche, he’d argue. But won’t bother to.)

“Get out,” he grunts, softly.

You squirm for a minute beneath him and his eyes watch as you… make yourself more comfortable?

“No can do, I’m afraid,” You laugh. “I’m stuck here for the time being.”

Rin would never admit that, on days like this, he’s so used to your constant and useless pestering that is meant to be affectionate, that it never actually disturbs him. It disrupts this balance he maintains in his schedule, his peace of mind sometimes; but it doesn’t actually disturb anything. He’s just often easily irritable and grouchy. 

(Or there’s something supernatural going on… you somehow make it go away by some magical force Rin doesn’t see. That has to be it.)

Even so, in some way, he has to avoid it because it is too much — not with the way his heart spikes. 

“Alright.”

He finds himself mumbling that as he jerks his knee to sit back beside you, to no longer be hovering over you, when your fingertips suddenly grasp the fabric of his shirt, yanking him back down he almost stumbles if he wasn’t so stable at doing this.

Rin’s arms almost felt wobbly. Almost. 

(His lips almost touched yours and it’s frankly insulting that your intention wasn’t to kiss him. Completely not because of his grip, he never falters.)

“Oh—no, no, no!” You urged. “You’re not going anywhere. Keep doing those push-ups, boy.”

He narrows his eyes at you.

“Go be weird somewhere else until I’m done,” Rin grumbles. “You’re distracting and an obstacle in my way.” 

And then again, you laugh, louder it makes his grip a slight bit unsteady. Only a slight bit.

“Only Itoshi Rin calls his lover an obstacle unironically,” You sigh. “You’re lame. Let me have this.” 

“I could crush you,” he says. “And this is very cringeworthy, even for you.”

You gasp in clear offense and pinch his bicep. He doesn’t react to it, his lips are pursed in a firm line as usual.

“First off, it’s not cringe, that’s rude — this is something couples do all the time,” You retort, brows furrowed in anger it makes him slightly unstable. Slightly. “Second, nothing gets past you, Rin! You could even do hand standing push ups like this and it would come naturally to you — so what’s the excuse?”

Rin wonders that too.

“Lukewarm couples,” he clicks his tongue. “Even more cringeworthy.”

You lightly smack his bicep and it makes him deadpan.

(Like an insect that flew by and collided with his skin aggressively; you are literally harmless.

And yet, he's feeling a bit dizzy, like one would be after a sting or something.)

“We are not just any couple, Rin! If the activity itself is ‘lukewarm,’ then that should be a sign that we as a couple should turn it around,” You remark, raising a finger like the absolute nerd you are. “‘Un-lukewarm’ it, if you will. What do you say?”

Rin still scowls at you, but it’s much gentler than earlier initially — he doesn’t want to do this, he doesn’t want to do stupid and banal things other lame couples do. 

“You’re weird and annoying.”

The very idea makes him want to stick his tongue out in fake disgust... 

“C’mon,” You pout, “for me? Please? Pretty please?”

But… it’s also coming from you. And it’s never been easy to actually deny you of anything, even when he complains — it’s a phenomenon, really. What causes him to succumb to all that is you? 

There is that effect you always have on him that is impossible to resist and Rin still thinks it’s some sort of outside force, truly something supernatural, he’s so sure of it. Now more than ever, he will never learn to understand. 

Especially when you prod at him with a face like that… it makes something in him always stir. And it’s never been normal for him.

“Fine,” He mumbles, monotone. “Do what you want, I don’t care.”

(Rin contemplates the possibility of being possessed right now. That’s definitely a possibility. Fitting in supernatural.)

“Yay!” You squeal gently, feet kicking softly beneath him. “You won’t regret this, baby. Pretty soon you’ll ask me to be your workout partner too!”

You’re met with another deadpan.

“No,” He pushes himself back up again.

“You’re right,” You gesture, “I have to introduce you to other couple workouts before that… but this’ll do for now.”

Rin lowers himself down to your level, and his nose brushes against yours for a moment that it makes you wrinkle yours cutely in response to the sudden touch, but he goes back up like it was nothing — not smiling, and definitely not blushing.

“Wow. You’re always so serious, lighten up,” You huff. “Also so handsome, my god. Especially from this angle, it makes me wanna… hm.”

He does two more pushups before noticing your silence, your lips wobbling like you want to say something and he grumbles before indulging you.

“Makes you want to—what? Do more of this crap?”

“No,” You laugh. “Makes me wanna… kiss you. Kiss you stupid, at that.”

Rin pushes himself back up and looks straight ahead, away from you. A vein twitches in his head when you whine at the loss of eye contact.

“Can I kiss you? Please?” You pout, tilting your head.

It is supernatural. He will never learn to understand.

“You’re a pest,” He huffs.

It doesn’t surprise you when he says that, but it always takes you by surprise, even more so, when his eyes narrow and bore into yours. 

And he gives you what you want. 

The kiss is a little unsteady with his arm, a little salty on your mouth due to the fact he’s sweating and it probably tickles down to his lips in the process, and a little—no, very sweet. Your hands on his face, your thumbs rubbing his cheek bones, back and forth beneath his lower lash line — he didn’t mind it. It felt nice, nicer than he’d like to admit maybe — it makes his grip falter slightly and it almost makes him scowl at that. 

It’s just a kiss. Yet, you’re overpowered here, it’s definitely supernatural. 

(Rin definetly thinks he’s possessed. But he doesn’t think too hard about it.)

And you’re so happy. And he feels it when you grin into his mouth. 

When Rin pulls away, you giggle in such a ridiculous manner that if it wasn’t you he’d call you a loser and physically cringe. Instead, his cheeks grow hotter and his lips aggressively shut, his eyes narrowed still but glad to be staring back at you.

Natural, now. Maybe.

He feels a little dizzy. But he manages. Kiss him stupid, you did — maybe.

“That was so cute, I’m—!”

“Shut up.”

You close your eyes so aggressively in excitement and nod fast. “Alright, sure, whatever.” You got what you wanted, after all.

“I’ll deal with you later,” He murmurs, pushing himself back up.

Everything about love in theory was always lukewarm to him. That word is his argument. But that was, of course, until he was subjected to it by your presence, and he’s never been the same about it since.

Supernatural… yeah… right. 

Rin actually learned a while ago to understand that there’s nothing supernatural about your love or learning to tend to it, even when it disrupts the balance of his so-called nature, it’ll always live in you. In all its ways that he’s learning to grasp.

He’ll learn to grasp it in his hand, just like he learns that he simply can’t continue his workout now that you're here, looking up at him like that; just like he learns to click his tongue and say “screw it” to finishing his workout because he can’t stand it, just like he picks you up off the ground to carry you to the bedroom with a scowl, indulging in whatever it is that you want. 

He may never learn to fully express it, but he’s learned a few things from doing what you love. And that is small, stupid, things like these make him love you more, somehow. Somehow. And he’ll learn by always giving it you when you ask, even if it’s ridiculous by his definition inherently. 

Love is… not impossible, not “supernatural;” and it’s certainly not out of this world to fall for it more with you every time.

✦ sorry this isn’t super long, i’m in the middle of finals week so i’m struggling creatively rn. :”))) i can write more for you after this is over fr!!

✦ You decided to venture down to the beginning levels of the dungeon for one reason only: entomology research. The dungeon, rich with all kinds of monsters, had attracted you to its depths for a chance to discover more than you could just on the surface.

✦ Meeting Chilchuck was an added perk. Coming across Laios’ party at the upper levels was the best thing that could’ve happened to you at that moment. Now you had a party to explore with, and even a half-foot to aggravate.

✦ And oh, how easy it was to irritate him. You’d scoop up anything that you’d find and immediately show it off to him. At first, he’d give you an unamused look and tell you to cut it out, afraid just what you’d picked up this time.

✦ Except when you started telling him about it. You’d find a treasure insect or point out a cleaner at work, giving him all the facts you knew. Occasionally he’d actually listen to you talk, finding it almost… relaxing?

✦ It wasn’t that he was completely uninterested, but you had started to grow on him the more you shared what you knew. Hearing you speak about the insects you have on the surface and how you cared for them definitely made him curious. He never knew so much time and dedication went into stuff like that.

“Look at this one, Chilchuck!” In your hand was an insect you had come across on the floor your party decided to rest on. With excited eyes, you began pointing out all the parts, their functions, and even what purpose they served in the dungeon.

For some reason, Chilchuck found that sparkle in your eye when you chattered away to be… endearing, almost. He couldn’t help but feel the corners of his mouth tug into a smile, encouraging you to keep going. After all, this was what you were passionate about. Unlike Laios’ obsession with monsters, your knowledge didn’t make you seem sick in the head; it made you unique.

✦ Chilchuck soon would find himself pointing things out to you and asking questions of his own. Maybe about what that particular insect was, what it did, maybe if it was rare or not. And more than happily, you answered him in kind.

✦ Even if you drove him crazy sometimes with shoving something in his face, he found that your presence was comforting. Having someone else here besides Laios (or even Senshi) that knew about some of the dungeon’s creatures was nice. You two would even entertain each other by sharing things you knew about insects on the surface or in the dungeon. (Not that he knew much...)

✦ Sometimes he’d even have you talk to him at night while the rest of the party got ready for bed. It wasn’t that your words put him to sleep, it was more that your voice had begun to bring him comfort. Chilchuck could feel his eyes growing heavy when you told him about some of the insects you liked on the surface, and soon enough you had managed to lull him to sleep with just the sound of your voice.

✦ Eventually you’d probably be able to get him to actually hold something. Maybe he’d see that look in your eyes again and swallow down his pride, holding out his hands to whatever you found this time. That happy look on your face made it all worth it.

It's fine if you want to complain. Anyone who thinks other members' songs should be sent to radio is free to say so, tag HYBE, email BigHit, etc. You disagree with how BigHit/HYBE America is promoting the first full English album from a BTS member relative to the other solo debuts. Sure, that's valid.

All that talk about ethics and whatnot sounds insane to me though. There's no use saying it at this point but Anon, you've become completely sucked in, you've picked up the Frankenstein language of the overinvested stan transferring their aggression to Jungkook.

Getting songs sent to radio doesn't make one an 'industry plant', talk less the biggest one, and much less for a guy who could sell out stadiums if he announced a tour today. It would be great to hear Closer or Hectic by RM on radio, same with Amygdala or Polar Night; Future, Alone, and For Us would be great additions too. Heck, Coldplay literally wrote The Astronaut and it sounds like a radio hit so it should've gotten a good push as well. But they didn't and of course it's okay to feel upset and communicate that to the company. But I also love that Jungkook is getting this push, and with a full English album, the first run by HYBE America (by all appearances), I think songs sent to radio is what to expect. Nobody from BTS will likely ever get full Western validation, and Jungkook's back-to-back hits of mid songs certainly aren't helping all that much, but it's true Jungkook is doing well, making more fans and leaving his mark. Just as the other members have done and will continue to do with even stronger impact. None of them are stupid and they are aware of their situations. I trust them to handle their business.

What ticks you off is that you feel you'll have to stream more, buy more, put more effort in than JJKs to get the same results. You're pissed off more for yourself than you are about Jimin. Which is fine. But Jimin is fine too lol. The way y'all talk about that man makes me wonder if you actually know him, or if when we talk about Jimin, we're talking about the same person.

What Jimin wants, he ultimately gets. When he really wants something he makes sure he gets it, in the way that works best for him. I've seen him win, get his way, make his way in moments, weeks, months, and years. His documentary is literally around the corner that will confirm yet again, that this is the sort of person he is. the next game i plan to play is TWEWY. unlike the other games ive been playing recently i will not be going into this game blind bc that is impossible for me, cuz ive lived with the worlds biggest twewy fan who is my brother. literally have memories from 2009/2010 of hearing the twewy ost from his ds first thing in the morning. he has also told me the entire lore of this game multiple times. i also tried to play it before in like 2016 or 2017 cuz my brother rly wanted me to and he was like 'its shorttt you can do it'. secret: What’s one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

Easy enough: he's lonely. He's intensely, earth-shatteringly, irreparably lonely and it's directly because he's part of a duality where each part is designed to function alone. Me and Asche's personal lore for Stan is that he's "the other side" of God but that doesn't mean they're meant to get along. They're meant to be locked in a tidal orbit of never ending conflict, bound to each other but light years away. Stan is meant to be The Adversary and my personal lore is that he's just a little fucking sad about that.

Like he remembers helping to create the universe, hurling matter and heat in every direction, breaking down everything so Eli could pull it back together and form it into more and more complex elements, smashing atoms and meteors and whole planets into each other in a chaotic Mario Party Smash that lasted billions of eons and also just one flashbang

... so Eli could come in and create life on what was left.

And he knows that the only way to ever experience that sense of belonging and purpose again--at least on that "Mantle of the Adversary", cosmic level anyway--is to create a new universe. And he knows that in order for that to really happen the one they'd already made would have to be destroyed.

So there's that.

All this to say, I don't think Stan understands that's what he's feeling anyway. I think it translates to him as Angry and Sad. He'll show the angry part but he doesn't want people to ever know about the sad part.

No but seriously, this one is really hard. I wanna say almost killing Lucifer, but is that really the worst? In all the millenia that Stan has been alive, his WORST MISTAKE was making Lucifer believe he was going to die at Stan's hands? Because in all honesty, the two of them will eventually find their way back into the toxic, symbiotic relationship they've had since Lucifer fell and everything will fall back into place again.

But will it??? Will it really????????? He effectively put Doubt in Lucifer's head for... basically as long as it's going to sit there. They'd gotten so close as for Stan to actually tell Lucifer "I love you", even if it was just a whisper, even if it was after just sticking a knife in the former angel's stomach, and they were both reminded that it could have been thrown away in a heartbeat over the pull of the Mantles needing to fill Roles.

Whether or not Lucifer moves on from it, Stan is always going to remember being slightly out of control... but not entirely. He was somewhere in the vicinity of the driver's seat and that is fucking chilling in its implications for Lucifer's place in his heart and Stan's capacity to have one in the first place.

So yeah I guess I'll keep it at that for now.

He has a fear of intimacy that is in direct conflict with his aforementioned loneliness, and yeah that actually keeps him up at night sometimes lmao. If you wanted to get deeper into that it's a fear of rejection. If you wanted to go even further it's a fear of abandonment.

His nightmares are always full of songs sung by angels made by Him but Not Him, sounds he can't make that spin molecules together into planets and cities and people, beautiful and terrible but muffled and far away like it was a record playing in another room.

I'd say both his neck and wrists are sensitive. And I love that idea, but due to his skin tone, his blush isn't really visible! So instead of turning red, we could say that MC is touching him and suddenly his skin heats up under their palm and he starts to sweat a little bit!

And ugh, now I can't help but imagine MC calling Joren their handsome man while tracing his scars...

Like, he doesn't really care if he's considered good-looking or not, but MC calling him that???? He'd melt. Suddenly, he'd understand why everyone is so concerned about beauty, and how good that kind of validation feels. He'd even start putting more effort into his appearance.

And maybe he could start seeing his scars as proof of how brave he's been throughout his life? He could stop being neutral about it, and become proud of them?

On the other hand, if MC finds him disgusting for his scars, it would make him insecure for the first time in a really long time. He'd try to dress in tunics with long sleeves, and always face MC with the "better" side of his face, so they don't have to look at his scar.

Prologue

It was an evening where the sun was like a cozy blanket.

Kirby was walking alone on the path while looking at the blue sky.

Usually, on a nice evening like this, Kirby would have been chatting with his best friend Bandana Waddle Dee or went to play with him, unfortunately, Bandana Waddle Dee was very busy.

Because it has rained restlessly for couple of days, the laundery has piled up.

"Would he finish his work early, Waddle Dee. King Dedede. He could just atleast wash his own gown."

As Kirby was about to make a step while thinking.

Far away from the sky, a star with a beautiful yellow glow came down.

With a welcoming mind, Kirby's expression suddenly became brighter.

"Warpstar!"

Warpstar would come to Kirby whenever he calls for him.

But today, since it came even without the call of Kirby, it seems like it will play with Kirby.

"Okay. Let's play together, Warpstar!"

Kirby, who felt much better now rode on the Warpstar.

Warpstar started to fly faster. Kirby shouted out of excitement.

"Faster! More, more higher! Around Castle Dedede……!"

As soon as Warpstar put its power on going up.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew, causing the Warpstar to lose its balance.

"Woahhhh!"

Kirby was bewildered. But luckily, he avoided falling by lying flat holding the Warpstar.

"Wh, what was that wind……?"

When Kirby looked around, he couldn't close gis mouth out of shock.

Because of the strong wind, the grass and even the trees had fallen to the ground.

It was as if the ground itself was about to get torn away.

"Is it a storm……? But it's such a nice weather……?"

Kirby looked at the sky.

It was a strange sight.

The skies that was just blue now was covered with greyish clouds.

And, between the clouds, a Mysterious Vortex was to be see. The Vortex was sucking in everything with its strong power.

"Thats?"

With wide opened eyes, Kirby looked at the Mysterious Vortex.

He didn't knew what this Vortex was, but if he didn't did something, the entirety of Dream Land would become a mess.

"Oh no! I got to do som……!"

Kirby shouted out loud. And, as if it replied to Kirby, the Warpstar started to speed up.

Dream Land was in total chaos from this sudden event. The roofs, the walls, and even the pillars of many houses were all broken and was sucked into the Vortex.

"AHHHH!"

"HEEELP!"

The citizens all ran away while screaming.

The bigest building in Dream Land, Castle Dedede was no exception to this.

A pack of Waddle Dees who were working in the yard, one by one started to be swiped away by the wind and started to get lifted.

"WAAAAAH!"

"SIRE! SAVE US, SIREEEEE!"

As they tried to grab the pillars and shout out of desperation, it couldn't win the strength of the Vortex.

Bandana Waddle Dee Sticked in his precious spear into the ground and was enduring from getting pulled.

King Dedede who came running out of the castle stretches his hands and shouted.

"WADDLE DEE! GRAB MY HAND!"

"YES, YES! YOUR MAJESTY!"

Bandana Dee tried to grab Dedede's hands, but ended up getting swept away by the strong wind.

"AHHHHH! YOUR MAJESTY!!!"

"Waddle Dee! WAAAAA?"

King Dedede was then also sucked into the Vortex with the Waddle Dees.

Kirby sticked on the Warpstar as he looked at the Vortex.

He should stop the Vortex... But how…….

As soon as Kirby noticed Bandana Waddle Dee being pulled up, Kirby screamed.

"Ah! WADDLE DEEEEE……!"

Suddenly, a broken pillar hit the Warpstar, causing it to lose its balance as well as Kirby's.

"AHHHHHHK!"

Kirby was flinged ot the air and was also sucked in by the Vorted.

As soon as Kirby was inside the Vortex his body stretched from the strong power.

"HUAAAAAAAA?"

Kirby's body twisted like a spiral.

And then, everything stopped.

He had no idea what happened and passed out.
