#every time theres a new arc everyone who only liked balance is like 'oh if u dropped off after balance u have to listen to THIS arc bc its #JUST LIKE BALANCE'#every damn time.#it happened with ethersea a bit but especially w steeplechase and vs dracula #and u get ppl in the notes of these posts saying 'oh yeah i fucking hated everything after balance sooo glad theyre finally doing exactly #what i want them to!!'#like. its ok to have personal preference but dont be mean about it :(#and comparing every campaign to balance is rlly annoying sry #let them be their own thing #stop being so blinded by nostalgia ig #like not to be rude but. i think ppl think balance is the most Perfect Thing Ever but its rlly...not #all the campaigns have flaws but i aint canceling them for that #like what happened with grad #idk its like if balance came later ppl would probably be much more mean about it #bc they wouldnt be blinded by nostalgia as much or smthn #anyways #at the end of the day the mcelroys shouldnt be expected to make a replica of balance every campaign #and thats not what theyre trying to do. theyre doing what THEY personally want to do. like they clearly dont care abt what others think lol #theyre experimenting and having fun #its like. a free podcast with a bunch of silly dudes playing for funsies. they shouldnt have such high expectations or be demonized #in any way #my point being. if i see anyone being mean abt taz u get blocked #>:(#coon speaks #not tagging taz. i dont wanna see nasty ppl in my notifs ty

little skyward sword comic update (destiny), im about a third done with the next one and after restructuring and cutting stuff im pretty sure its going to be only two more updates until the end of chapter 1!!

im a little miffed about having taken almost exactly 3 years for just 60 pages, but im hoping i can keep it going for a long time without losing interest in it, hopefully faster too as i am trying really hard to allow myself to experiment with more loosely painted styles and to stop obsessing over rendering each particular panel even if that all means my style is going to shift around even more than it already is (sorry) ..

it feels like there is more interest in my rewrite project than in my comic but the latter is still the more important one to me and i want to thank everyone who has read it, especially if you reblogged with long tags, those are my favorite to read through!! <3

The new trailer has injected hype straight into my veins (rip everyone who is tired of Varric narrating trailers feat. Solas, but I'm a sucker for both) and the art is just gorgeous as always so I took screencaps - figured I'd share in case anyone else wanted them!

#dragon age #dragon age: dreadwolf #da:d #da4 #solas #i'd tag varric but he's not *pictured* lol so #i went off in the tags of the cinematic i reblogged earlier but for REAL there's a lot of little things in this trailer that are new!!#i mean i'm not surprised it's not an 'official' game trailer lol they're almost certainly saving that for game awards this week #but- the symbolism with the 7 evanuris outside the circle rim (theorized previously but now confirmed & with symbols!)#the way the golden city turned black (also dope skull) - its been theorized that the gc/bc was elven related but!! this is a BIG lead #plus ppl have been noting it almost looks like there's a ship sailing away from the gc before it turns black/as it does so #in those swirling black patterns that 'root' out before the image changes-#so!! new theories re maybe the evanuris/remaining elves fled the gc? after corrupting it??? or otherwise Fucking Around and Finding Out #plus the final one! with solas and the er- bomb/spell to destroy the veil - the 4 (but possibly 5 it looks like ones clipped out)#semicircles representing the evanuris - and more importantly... the archdemons probably - bc 5 defeated archdemons.... out of ostensibly 7-#5 evanuris down (or more terrifyingly: 5 of their 'locks'?) (or or- 5 of their simply leaked Bad Vibes in Dragon Form) out of 7 #somehow tying into this spell...?#solas (if ogb was a thing in ur playthrough) not only has mythal's energy but ogb's.... so many unanswered questions and loose threads #i and every other Lore Nerd are desperately trying to figure out what can be braided together with any reasonable effect lmao #regardless - gorgeous art is gorgeous hello new desktop bg

do i really want to make individual drinks again

#reaching back into the file cabinets of my mind to remember how i made certain drinks when i worked at the cafe #in preparation for the possibility of this new job #it would certainly mean far less goofing off time than i have at my current job. and i value my goofing off time dearly #but the people here are so fucking annoying lmao. i hate them soooo much #not that the people at this new job would be any better. we're still dealing with investment bankers #godddddd. what i really would want (which would be impossible)#would be to go back to working at the cafe but like. still have paid time off and insurance lmao #but the cafe was a small business and he was not offering paid time off and insurance. and the pay was way less #but i did get to play whatever music i wanted. unfortunately you cant live on that #like i can always say no to this new job if its offered to me. but is my goofing off time worth:#2 dollars less in pay and a half hour to an hour's more commute. well i dont know #a shorter commute would mean i could sleep more. and have more time at home .#i mean i probably don't Need all this goofing off time. but its nice #i dont knowwwwwww #like even though im a bit nervous abt doing it again i know that i would easily fall back into the routine of making drinks #which i was fairly good at. my one drawback is that i cant do latte art but i dont know that theyd really care here #and (because i found the menu of where id work) theres not a ton of drink options?? just the standard stuff #its being called a starbucks cafe but 1) its not managed by them and 2) it does not have their 5 billion drink options #so thats good. less to worry about #doesnt look like i even have to make anything foodwise which i had to at the cafe #here it looks like people can just buy a pastry and thats it #the hours are like. the same i work now. also good #sorry im like using this post to think through my thoughts.#uhhhh oh i looked up the manager who looks like a weenie so im not keen on the prospect of interviewing with him #but i probably would have thought that about my current manager if id seen a pic of him prior to interviewing. i guess???#and with these kind of catering units it seems you dont often deal directly with the manager that much anyway #i just gotta see if i get good vibes #rn i have unsure vibes. but i need a sign to see if this could be good for me #oh id also save money on transportation. and taxes! bc i wouldnt be working in ny anymore #lol oops tag limit. well i hope you enjoyed my job thoughts you probably didnt i know i didnt

Apparently I can meet my goal of roughly 400,000 words in 6 months if I just somehow write at least 2,200 words a day ghbjh... Almost 2,500 today... huzzah...

#Definitely not going to be able to stick with it just due to like... being realistic about my energy levels and etc. ESPECIALLY as we #enter the Evil Summer and it becomes hot all the time. But... one can attempt.. at least...#I'm also a very slow writer since I tend to re-read and edit while I write. and only move onto the next section once what I'm writing #seems okay. Which is easy for visual novel type stuff. since ''sections'' of a conversation are more clearly marked (like if you #have a menu option with 5 different dialogue choices. finish the character's response for choice 1 before moving onto 2. etc.)#Especially since when I'm done with a whole quest I always follow it up by playing through it and picking every option and making sure it #actually all works okay and etc. So I am already going to see it all a second time. Then I can go back and reorder a few words or remove #certain sentences that don't sound natural when I read them out loud (I always read it all outloud to myself since it is... just peple #talking.. it should sound like natural dialogue in their voice. etc). But my ''first draft'' is kind of not as first drafty since I pause t #edit a lot as I go along. So it also takes longer probably than it would take other people who I think treat a first draft as more #of a loose guideline or something. AANYWAY...#80F in my bedroom right now again... huzzah... I did end up finishing and recording that sims build video before the heat wave (or is #it really a heat wave if it's just summer..?? lol) came in.. but now... augh.. the editing... plus the costume photos and all else... Much #to do as always.. Often such a long todo list.. a giant scroll hung upon the walls of the evil hermit wizard tower..#Anyhow.. I hope I can finish getting ready for bed early in time to reward myself with a game of tripeaks solitaire whilst I snack on #cheddar cheese and some of those preserved artichokes in a jar. hrgm... I actually have nasturtiums (ultimate best flower) on the #deck again this year but I had to move them all into a corner today because the leaves were getting burnt by the sun lol.. Also am now more #cautiously weaving through social media to ignore all dragon age news. NOT bc of spoilers (I actually love spoilers/literally never play #any game until there's full guides on it I can read to plan my entire playthrough based on knowing exactly what I want to happen lol + mods #and etc.) but just because I'm so busy with my ownprojects I simply do not have the brainspace to dedicate... Yes I love to think #about elves and fictional universe lore. but no.. I pretend I do not see it. Does not exist to me actually. ghgj.. OHH also took som #cool pictures of flowers in the garden section of a store and I wanted to do like.. character designs based on the colors of the flowers o #something. but that might just be another unnecessary project to add to the pile.. I want to commit to the daunting task of dyeing my #hair again some time.. hrm.. this is all of the updates I can think of. As if a bunch of random tags make up for never posting anything for #weeks on end lol.. alas.. too warm to think properly I suppose.. .. I neeeeeed a long lost relative to leave me some million dollar #estate in their will so I can have the resources to move to a colder climate or something ..augh #.. but for now.. anyway my personal ranks of origins backstories just in the game by themselves is brosca and tabris at the top, aeducan at the bottom. cousland i will admit is pretty impactful but i still feel like, as wild as an option it would have been, that a cousland warden should had the option to solo rule. they are from the only other teryn in ferelden and it's even said that it was considered for bryce to rule so like! come on!

aeducan is at the bottom because it so tightly locks you into siding against bhelen, which i suppose is fair for brosca being so skewed in behlens favor bc of rica, but brosca is just Good so i forgive that, while aeducan is just suffering.

i still stand by my idea that the 'noble' dwarven origin shouldn't have been the second aeducan child, they should have been the second aeducan's second in place of gorim. that way there would have been more room for roleplay. also the second aeducan child would have been a secret third option for ruler of orzammar that you would encounter with the legion of the dead that they joined after being kicked out.

you would have to both do the legion of dead quest to give them a noble caste, and also have high as hell coercion for it to work but it would really cool and also so funny to do. that said the origin just by itself is pretty fun, love being backstabbed by my second favorite baby brother from the dragon age franchise

mahariel and the magi warden are in the 'i like them but they don't feel as impactful' as much as it hurts me. they're both just kinda there, however that said if the game let you recruit jowan into your party that would bring the magi warden up much higher. alas.
