"hm... this is... odd," regulus muses, unfurling a scroll he found tucked away somewhere behind the mass of overcrowded shelving. and despite how cleverly-hidden it was, it looks rather... new. "i haven't come across this one before... hm..." he makes a show of studying its ancient language, pressing his lips together, and narrowing his eyes at the symbols. "i think perhaps this looks like a spell you ought to try, my dearest wizard."

it is a lovely spell — one of regulus' own creation, though he does not say so; when spoken, the spell explodes into a dome of falling flowers, like raining petals dancing on wind. it is wonder and whimsy, and once regulus hands the scroll to his companion he backs away, perching himself at the edge of his high-backed chair and folding his hands over his crossed knees. "go on."

An unfamiliar scroll?! Gosh. Regulus has a gift for working him up. He can inspire in him wonder, nurse all his yearnings till his heartbeats ached, and if ever Gale Dekarios were to stand at one's mercy, it'd be his, this noble, this star-crimped thing. He's that talent for poems. And he's that genius for spells. So, in both enrichment for the soul and his ravenous mind, Gale, swiftly had, finds he's never left wanting... He smiles promptly right over, heart swelled and full.

"Oh, it would be my pleasure," he starts, excitement decidedly roguish. Gale reads. It's no string of words he's heard, and no, no manner of spellcraft he's gazed on before. Still, he knits his brows in study, twinkling his fingers to work and weave. Unfamiliar as it were, he yet crafts like conductors, and in one, two flicks, a harmony sings within him. Better yet, in the still, night-time air, there springs roses and begonias.

The spell shimmers. Gale feels a rush of spring warmth dance through his veins, and in his nose, he catches a breeze in a meadow, sharp grass, sweet air, and the syrup off trees. His arm loses its cool, those tendrils of rot feeling far less biting. It's a dainty snowglobe, the gauzy, white petals like the veil of winter, and when Gale turns about to find Regulus watching, he half-laughs, a bit younger, and a little less doomed.

"Every spellcaster dreams of fashioning their very own spell. It's a rigorous study, one that requires you to discover yourself, to work the very filaments of your spirit like a thread to loom. To share at all is like to share one's soul. Branded like with signature on a painting or a book, to handle isn't far from handling you." Gale smiles at him. Regulus, handsome, wears the petals like a crown in his hair, and something devastatingly aching sings his pulse. "I can hardly think of a spell that better wears your name." He warms him like the springtime. "Rest assured--" a clumsy joke "--you are in very capable hands."

ON THE DAY OF HALLOWEEN ask me or anyone else that's reblogged this, "trick or treat" and you shall recieve a random thing in your trick or treater bucket! What thing?

NOT YOU OR ME THAT'S FOR SURE!!! (Just no screamers or shit like that of course lets not forget that lmao)

Why am I saying this now instead of on the day of the game? So anyone else that wants to play has plenty of time to prepare a little handful of things for the trick or treaters!!

Remember, it doesn't have to be anything big!!! You can be the blog that's giving everyone images of rotisserrie chicken you found on google, or you can be the blog that's giving everyone pictures of your cat if you want!! This is a low spoons and low stress game so do whatever you want to do that's easy for you!! Be a mix of everything or just give a 'hi!' it doesn't matter, it's all in good fun!! And we can trick or treat each other too, of course. Not as fun if you can't get any tricks or treats too, right? Anyone can trick or treat and anyone can be trick or treated!

I keep forgetting how funny the whole "did you just smell me" scene is until I watch it again.
