We’ve written them in private before; Cog is a bit of a grump, he doesn’t really care about people or things, but he’s taken a liking to Lucy. If Cog ever winds up at the hotel, I can see him taking a liking to Husk, if only because they’re so similar. Just sittin around, drinkin cheap booze, bein grumps together. Complaining about their circumstances. Two grumpy supposedly-uncaring fucks in one room.... they might kiss.... haha

Siiiince Cognac died in the early 80s, I can...kinda see him with Cherri? Although maybe a little earlier on in his time in Hell; he died in the middle of a bar fight between punks and cops, so partying with her right off the bat would’ve totally kept his punkass going. I’ve been tagged by @apollonkondric​ (have i been gone for a while that i didn’t realise your name change??)! anyway! it’s as usual for my wip like all things out of season, so here it goes: 1) How did you come up with your WIP’s title? What does it mean in relation to the story? i actually gave a pretty long answer to this here! feel free to give it a read (or yknow, take it as if it’s just to be poetic) 2. Do you title your chapters? If so, what’s your favorite? yes i do chapter titles! i remember making a post quite a while back about some of my chapter titles, and i remember some people commenting on how they sounded like fall out boy songs HAHA which is actually. very true. they can be quite long and unlike @apollonkondric​ ‘s, very rarely straightforward, if ever. but they kinda do make sense if you think about it, and lets you know as a whole what the chapter is going to revolve around (which, yknow, is the point of chapter titles tbh) ANYWAY. hm. i think my favourite is still, the world is a different place when you know what the world is. makes sense, doesn’t it? (also i just realised how massively long my chapters are oops) 3. What’s a recent line you really like? hmm.

my story has multiple POV! though i’d love to imagine it in some sort of god-like, lemony-snicket-style voice. that’ll be fun. i actually do wanna write that sort of story some day. i think i could be a pretty funny narrator voice if i tried haha 9. What would be your OC’s taste in music if they lived in our world?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. this is a tough one. shou would like classical music tbh, though he’d somehow find beauty in all music forms eventually (after perhaps griping about some of them) zhen would... actually, as someone who loves to listen to music a lot, it’s kinda disappointing to me if one of my characters doesn’t really care that much about music, and that character would be zhen. really. lu would listen to those typical 2000s boys like girls-esque pop music. let him be! he’s a kid! and that music is fun . ren... hmm. hm. probs people like ed sheeran, and he does enjoy the new music that justin bieber puts out. teng likes taylor swift, beyonce, all the really addictive pop songs that you can dance and vibe to! he doesn’t listen to musicals because he’s not really exposed to them, but if he does, he’ll love them.  jun would listen to anything, but maybe something a little indie as well. that sorta vibes. yu(f) doesn’t listen either, or if she does, maybe something like studio ghibli soundtrack while she works. yu(m) hmm. soul. r&b.  jia would be something fun! anything fun tbh. reggaeton. electronic. clubbing music. 10. Emergency Drills

Sam slumped on his bed and began the far too tedious task of unlacing his boots. Sow's Ear had run an emergency drill earlier that day — a double header of fire and decompression. The children only had to worry about finding the nearest safe point. Sam, however, had decided to take part.

More accurately, Captain Grzelak had strongly suggested he might want to tag along. After all, she had reasoned, the more people who knew what to do in an emergency, the better.

More likely, she wanted to assess how he handled himself in a crisis, and if he would be a potential hazard. At least, that was what he’d managed to glean from the gossip.

She hadn’t confined him to quarters, so he supposed he passed muster. Even if he was exhausted.

He finally tugged the second boot off and rubbed his aching feet. Next stop, he was making “good boots” a priority. These had gone far too long and needed replacing. Socks, too; the ones he had were getting too worn to cushion properly. More things to add to the list. In the morning. He’d check over his supply list in the morning. When his head was a little clearer. He should probably make sure the others were properly equip—  Properly clothed.

He pressed the heels of his palms to his eyes. Civilians needed clothing, not equipment. They’d been with him near-on a year and he still had to correct himself.

Old habits, huh?

“Go away.”

~Talking to yourself is a sign of lu-nacy.~ Hearing that sing-song voice was certainly enough to drive him mad. Madder, anyway. At least when Felix was actually alive, Sam could have found one way or another to make him be quiet. Now it was no more than his own memories and imagination pestering him. And he’d never been that successful at hiding from himself on his own.

He felt like he had barely laid down and closed his eyes when there was a rapping at the door. The clock, however, disagreed by several hours.

Tap. Tap. “Sam?”

He sat up, knuckling his eyes. What could Edgar actually want this late? “What is it?”

The door slid open to silhouette both brothers in the soft running light of the common room. They were pressed shoulder to shoulder, hands tightly linked between them. Now that they had his attention, they were silent.

Kinda looks like a horror movie setup, doesn’t it?

He ignored the stray thought and swung his legs off the bed. “What’s wrong?”

They looked at each other, and somehow managed to huddle closer together. “Can- can we stay with you tonight?”

Sam blinked, taken aback by the timid question. “Why?” They had never evidenced being afraid of the dark before.

They shrank back. “Never mind,” Allan mumbled.

Sam sighed. “I didn’t mean … Come here.” He held out one hand

They scrambled onto the bed and plastered themselves against him, one on each side, trembling.

Well, that was unexpected. He considered what could have caused this. “Did the emergency drill upset you?”

Edgar mumbled something that sounded negative while Allan just shook his head.

Liars.

Go. Away. Sam firmly pushed any thoughts of Felix aside. Now was not the time. He just wrapped an arm around each of them until they stopped shaking.

Then he wanted to slap himself. The boys had lost their parents when the orbital platform they’d been working on suffered an explosive decompression and catastrophic structural failure. The drill today must have severely rattled them.

Just say it blew up and now they’re scared shitless, you pedantic fuck.

Apparently, ‘Felix’ was not going to be silent. That didn’t mean Sam had to pay him any mind. He squeezed them in closer. The motion made him notice that his shirt was now damp and he sighed again. “It was just a drill. Hopefully one we’ll never need to use.”

“Then why do them in the first place?”

He ignored Allan’s sullen tone. Sam had lived through a decompression scare or two himself, along with many other emergencies. Drills and their necessity were etched into his bones by now. “We do them so that if there is an emergency, we don’t waste time trying to remember what to do. By the time our brains realize what’s going on, we’re already moving.”

They were both silent, mulling over his words. “So, if we practice them, then we’ll be safe? If the ship blows up?” Edgar twisted to look up at him without pulling away.

Well, shit.

He was not suited for soothing frightened children. Felix was the one who was good at comforting lies. But Sam was the only one available. “As safe as we can be. I won’t— I can’t promise it will always be enough. Sometimes nothing we do will be enough.” Despite his effort, the words slipped out before he could stop them.

“Then why do them?” Allan’s question was less sullen this time. A small blessing. Perhaps the comforting lie would have been the worse choice.

“Because the only way to know if it is enough is to keep going. To keep trying.” He sighed and squeezed them close again. He could have used his own advice, years ago. “Sometimes … sometimes it just comes down to not giving up.”

They were silent for so long, Sam thought they had fallen asleep. Before he could decide whether to carry them back to their room singly or together—

“Can we stay here with you tonight?” Edgar mumbled. Allan nodded against his chest.

It would be a tight fit. The bed was barely big enough for him as it was.

“You can stay.”

Placing my laptop on my desk. I opened it and signed in to my account. I clicked my itunes app and played some day6 music. After getting a song, I went to check my email. As I was looking I saw an email for this college that I applied to. It's a college I really wanted to go to. The only problem is, its really expensive. There was no way my dad could afford it.

I went down to the reply button and started typing.

I grunt in frustration and stop wrighting and looked at a picture of my family that I had on the right side of me. I then see a facebook notification on my screen from non other than Jeon Jungkook. You could say I had the longest crush on this dude. He's the captin of the football team and all so there's no way he'll ever go out with me.

I click on the notification and saw that he tagged me in a picture he uploaded a picture that I took of him, with the caption saying 'Let's go team!' 'Thanks for the awesome pic Lu.' I was debating or not if I should like the post. I mean I don't wanna seem creepy or anything. I was going to click it till one of my good friend Jennie tried facetimeing me. I chuckled and answer it.

"Good morning. What you doin? Besides stalking Jungkook of course." She smiles brightly at me. "I'm reading the news thank you very much." I obviously lied to her. "Oh, you're reading the news. You're such a good lire." Jennie saw right through me. I chuckled again. "Seriously, how do you know I'm stalking Jungkook?" I questioned her. I honestly don't know how she does it. Because, I know you very, very well. He's like your ultimate crush." She teases me.

"Oh, wait. Did you tell your dad about the school yet?" She asked me. I told her about the school and knowing how my dad couldn't afford it. "Yea, I told him. He's supper excited for me to move to a whole different city and go to an extreamly expenisve art school." I joked around but having a serious look. She looked supprised. "Really?" She asked dumbfounded. I shook my head. "No!" I told her. "No?" She replied. "No. I haven't found the right time yet." I explained as I went back to Jungkook's post.

Then my laptop beeps and Jennie sends me a message. "Oh! Nerve is starting. Sorry this is really important." She says all excited. I keep hearing about this game called 'Nerve' but no one told me what it was. "What's this 'Nerve' I keep hearing about?" I asked her clicking the link to it. "It's a game. Here just watch the video." She says. Once I clicked on the link a video popped up.

There was a black screen. Then this huge blue letters saying Nerve showed up. There was this bad techno music playing in the background. 'Welcome to Nerve. Nerve is a 24 hour game. Like truth or dare, minus the truth. Watcher's pay to watch. Player's play to win cash and glory. Are you a watcher or player? '

'It's cool right?" Jennie asked me. "This looks very sketchy. Is this legal?" I asked her not liking how this was going. "I don't know. Probably not. Just do it. Just sign up and watch. The time is clicking." She was presuring me to sign up. "Okay, signing up. Look this is me signing to Nerve." I told her I was faking once again.

"Lu! You have to sign up and watch me. It's very important that I have watchers." Jennie was really into this game. "Okay, I gotta go. My dad just got home. I'll sign up after breakfast. I promise." I told her that my dad was here and he's expecting me to be down stairs. "Thank you. I love you. I'll see you in a little bit." She says as she brushes her nose with her finger as I do to. Its. like our handshake.

-in the kitchen-

I was in the kitchen with my dad making some pancakes as he was sitting at the dinning table looking through the bills.

"I mean Jen hasn't gotten into any schools yet and she doesn't even care. " I was telling my dad about schools and stuff. "You know what? Jennie doesn't have. She has a trust fund. And you have something far more valuable than that." My dad started saying. Yea Jennie is much more richer than we are. So her parents could pay for any college she wants to go and she's not even taking it seriously. "Here we go." I sign knowing were he was going with this. "You have drive, you have focus. You have a scholarship to a local college." My dad rambles on how hard I've been working on school. That's the problem. I don't want to go to a local college I wanna go to university. "And even tho we can't pay for a dorm, you get to have your awesome cool dad with you." My dad starts to tease me.

"Actually, I um. I had kinda a cool Idea about that." I said as he gives me a look. I made my way over to the table. "What if we fix up JungHon's room and listed you on Airbnb or something. Maybe its finally time we start going through him and mom's stuff and maybe give it to goodwill? And I could give you some space?" I asked hoping he knows where I was coming from. He gave me this sad look. "I don't want space. I just want you." He said getting going to the fridge.

I sigh deeply. I knew it wasn't going to work. "Okay, I'm totaly down with commuting and I can get my reading done on the ferry." I gave in. "Yea? That will work right?" My dad asking me coming back with a drink in his hand. "Look, Lu. I'm sorry. I'm trying my best right now. It's just, it still hurts. I'm sorry." He rubs my arm and leaves the kitchen with a sad look.

I sigh and put my dishes on the sink. I walked into Junghon's room. All his things were still here. Like he'll be coming back but I know he won't. I saw a picture of me and him on his desk. I held it up and smile. This was when we were at Disney World. I was four and he was 9. I stroke the picture. "I miss you so much big bro." i said placing the picture back down.

I went back to my room to get my bag and camera for the big game today. Heading out the door I grabbed my bike and made my way down the stairs. I placed my earbuds in and played some music.

At school. The football team was getting ready and i was taking pictures of them. Okay, mostly I was taking pictures of Jungkook but hey I'm in the yearbook staff so I had too. As I was taking a picture I saw him make eye contact with me. I quickly took one more picture before going over to my other good friend Han Jisung.

"Hand me the zoom lens." I told him trying so hard not to blush. He handed me the lens. "Does it feel a little unbalanced if every single yearbook photo is of Jeon Jungkook?" He was teasing with me. I rolled my eyes. Yes, he also knows about my crush of him. "It's not my fault he's on the team." I jokily said switching my camera lens. He shook his head. The team was running to the field. And I tried to get other picture's of the team not just Jungkook.

The crowd was going wild for these boys. "Lisa! Lisa!" Jennie made her way over to us mostly Lisa. She gave her , her phone. I was taking random photo's of Jisung has he was making funny faces. I couldn't stop laughing every time he made a dumb face. "Remember, are you ready?" Jennie asked lisa as she nodded. "Your on." Lisa told her. "Hey watchers! Its Jen_96. I'm counting on you to get me to the final round. so don't let me down and I won't let you down. I promise." She gave a kiss to the camera and made her way over the the field since she is a cheerleader after all. She gave me our nose shake and it gave me a wired vibe. What she's going to do?

The cheerleaders did a dance. Jennie had her back turn and she crouch down and lifted up her skirt to reveal her whole naked ass. Everyone was Shocked. I lowered my camera down. Obviously the guys were whistling and other's where cheering. I can't believe she had the guts to do it. I turn to look at at Jisung as he was shocked as well. i showed him that I got a picture of it and he smiled. What the hell was she thinking?

Q1 :   if  you  could  write  your  character  your  way  in  their  own movie ,   what  would  it  be  called ,  what  style  would  it  be filmed  in ,  and  what  would  it  be  about ? A1 :  A movie similar in style to Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive mixed with Harry Potter, with things happening fairly fast and being rather beautiful and showing off all the magic of this world before it turns dark and transforms from light hearted to desperate and fast as the movie or movie series continues.

Q2 :   what  would  their  soundtrack / score  sound  like ? A2 :  I love the soundtrack for Doctor Who, so maybe something along those lines for the first half of Night’s story, which then transitions into something much darker and heavier as the going gets tougher.

Q3 :   why  did  you  start  writing  this  character ? A3 :  It was actually in like year 10, when I was about 14 me and my friend started watching RWBY and we made up ourselves a bunch of teams and it was just for fun as we created weapons and stuff and used our elements that we discovered on an online test and were really proud of as semblances for these characters. We then morphed a bunch of our other friends into characters and soon we had 3 teams of 4. And at the time we were just sorta throwing ideas around about RWBY and stuff until one day I decide to write a story about these characters and my friend was kinda pressuring me into putting us into story form and at first I was like, yeah it’ll be cool, but I soon realised I wanted something more serious than that, and rewrote every single character and only maintained some of the major traits. I didn’t want to feel like I was writing a story about them so I changed their names their personalities and their backgrounds and carried on. Then it came to tumblr roleplaying and I decided that in order to develop Night, the oc I based off of myself at first, I needed to make him as different to me as possible. And tumblr is really helping me do that, now I don’t feel trapped in this mindset where I feel like I’m writing in some vain perspective about myself, and Night has become an entity separate to me but still close to me, and I feel a lot more freedom to change him into something greater.

Q4 :   what  first  attracted  you  to  this  character ? A4 :  I’m just incredibly proud of him. The backstory I’ve created for him has taken me almost a year to formulate, and I’m still not quite 100% certain on the details, but I think for what it is currently it deserves some credit.

Q5 :   describe  the  biggest  thing  you  dislike  about  your  muse. A5 :   I think the biggest thing I disliked originally was how self insert Night felt. Now though, after I’ve changed him up a whole lot, that isn’t an issue, so I suppose the biggest thing now is how uninspiring he is. Like I don’t really write him as much of a leader despite being one, but maybe that’s just him being lazy. I’m not really sure.

Q6 :   what  do  you  have  in  common  with  your  muse ? A6 :   Now? Not much apart from some elements of the backstory. I chose to do that because I think it’d be easier to write a character going through similar things to what I’ve gone through. Other than that, probably our patience and tolerance.

so i’ve been tagged by @kidsarentallwrite​ for this one, and @a-ray-of-moonshine​ , so i’ll be answering both here! thank you so much for thinking of me! <3  What song makes your OC go absolutely, batshit feral? okay i really don’t know the answer to this one, but hmmmm let me think . i think that zhen’s the sort to sing songs loudly and obnoxiously just to be an annoying ass and lu’d join her, and then yu(f) would be really mega pissed because she’s right in the next room trying to do some work when these two tone-deaf idiots are screeching their lungs out in the kitchen so yes, zhen & lu’s singing would make yu(f) go absolutely feral. anything they sing.  i think the OTHER yu(m) would go absolutely feral when jun, being a lil piece of shit who likes to get on his nerves, sings songs about rain. because yknow, yu(m)’s name means rain. right now the song i’m thinking of is jay chou’s 听见下雨的声音 (which means, listen to the sound of rain falling) and jun would sing it whenever yu(m) tries to say something because of, yknow, the title. and then blatantly ignore whatever yu(m)’s trying to say. so yes, the two yu(s) lead very sad lives. please give them more love. (though i’d understand if you don’t, one is an Antisocial Edgelord and one is an Edgy Antisocial Lording Over Others . there’s a difference)  What would your OC go on an hours long rant about given the opportunity? for shou? anything. absolutely anything. off the top of my mind, the sun (i’ve mentioned this so many times, don’t even ask), names (names have meanings to him!! why is zhen called zhen and teng called teng? why is he called shou??? a lot of them don’t share in his sentiments but he has Very Strong Feelings about it) lu is about his sad existence as a little boy who is starving on the streets. he’d say it often in the kitchen, when zhen is preparing some food.  zhen would be about rising costs of living and capitalism and having to work when they’re dead and yu(f) being a loser who only wants to work and teng being a loser who can’t get any girls and about how life is meaningless and the only solace is sleep and jia would rant with her for the fun of it yu(f) would rant about zhen, yu(m) would rant about jun, teng would rant about love and loneliness and ren would run away. (yes that was a pun, if you got it please appreciate)  Do your OCs have tattoos? If not, would they ever get a tattoo? Why or why not? i think i’ve answered this somewhere before??? not very sure . but yea anyway shou thinks it’s blasphemous but he would also consider one, zhen can’t be bothered, lu is a little kid WHAT ARE YOU ASKING FROM HIM teng is deathly afraid of the pain and it’s plainly obvious, jun isn’t scared of the pain but can’t be bothered either but also might already have one, you never know, yu(f) thinks it’s a waste of money, yu(m)... i feel like he might have one, not sure why. jia probably has one, some nice gorgeous insta-worthy one on her collarbone or on her back.  ren probably has one but he keeps it hidden and no one knows about it.  You bump into your OC on the street unexpectedly. How do you react? oh no. which one? if i catch shou in a distracted mood, i probably can get away without him yammering in my ears.  if it’s zhen, i’ll probably get sued for something and she’ll try to extort something from me. probably the bubble tea in my hands, or the money in my wallet. probably.  for lu he’d extort food. even if it’s in my stomach. yu(f) would be the one who bumps into me and continues marching off because she is a busy woman and ain’t got time for this.  ren would probably apologise and yknow, be a normal, nice human being. yu(m) would just stare and maybe walk away, but he looks fierce so it probs looks like he’s glaring and i’ll be scared shitless. or be pissed, depends on my mood. teng would apologise a lot a lot and offer to get my things (even if i hadn’t dropped them) and be a sputtering mess because unfortunately i am Woman and he cannot deal jun would ignore probably. depending on his mood, might make some cryptic comment that’s slightly disturbing. or he’d be really charming . who knows? jia would also probably react like a normal human being. not the nicest, but normal anyway. Any others? sitcom, probably. also considering the amount of talking they do, maybe podcast. definitely not film. there’s no plot here. maybe theatre, just for fun. 1. Is there a trope you never get tired of? characters who share One brain cell. family.  long rambling stories that go nowhere really bad humour yes some of these are not tropes, i am aware.

2. Who is your least favorite character in your WIP? Why? gasps!!!  okay so let’s go down the list, i hate shou because he’s annoying as hell and he talks so much he himself gives 4k worth of dialogue in a single chapter, i hate zhen because she doesn’t do or admit to anything and trying to figure her out is like trying to get a worm to walk on two feet, i hate lu because he only talks about food and be a dirty lil kid, i hate ren because he is too nice and doesn’t think for himself, i hate teng because he gets easily bullied and he also talks too much for no damn reason, i hate jun because he keeps himself too deep and it’s impossible to get him to do anything serious, i hate yu(f) because she only works and literally there’s nothing to describe in her boring one bedroom can she get out of her room already, i hate yu(m) because i still don’t know him well enough after all these months, i hate jia because somehow i keep forgetting her in these tag games even though her presence is Big in the wip  yup there you go. they’re all my least favourite. 

3. Let’s say I’m planning to visit the setting of your WIP for a weekend. What should I take with me? What are the most important things for me to know beforehand? Which of your characters should I ask to be my guide? uh. i’d just say Don’t.  don’t visit. it’s not a good thing, you can’t choose to visit anyway, you can’t take anything with you because yknow, well there’s this little chinese saying i kinda abide by for this wip and i’m lazy to type it out now but it was in my previous chinese mytho au drabble so yea  also. guide????? maybe the safest might be ren, but also not really. hm. if you want an enthusiastic little puppy, choose shou. but he might talk your ears off and annoy you so you know, pick your poison 4.Beginning, middle, or end—which is the hardest for you as a writer?

lol i have no interests okay really. hm. i used to draw a little bit but i’ve stopped, used to play piano but i’ve stopped, used to play cello but i’ve stopped.  so yea, really, nothing much. 

7. How close is your WIP now to what you were expecting it to be when you just started?

i’ve finished the first draft since the start of the year, which is great and i totally didn’t expect it! .... am barely into the second draft though, so that’s a bummer. you see, this is why sometimes you shouldn’t get achievements. once that one milestone is reached you just lie down there at the rest stop and never get up. 

8. What are your plans for when you finish your WIP? Traditional publishing? Indie publishing? Putting it online for others to read for free?

traditional probs, because i don’t trust myself enough to do it on my own and i have little visual sensibilities so the cover would be hella ugly. also like, not even sure if traditional publishers would want my odd little plotless thing, but yknow, i like it. 

9. Your MC is here. On your doorstep. Planning to spend the day with you. Oh, and they know you’re the author responsible for everything that’s going on in the story right now. Are you expecting it to be a nice conversation, or do you maybe want to run and hide? :D

thank god i consider my MC to be shou instead of zhen. oh yea he’ll have lots of questions and he’ll poke at my brains a lot and he’d be hella noisy and also he’ll be sweating a lot because of his clothes and long hair, but still thank god it’s shou for the rest of them, i’d run and hide in the bottom of the ocean.

i’ve been tagged by the ever-so-amazing @kidsarentallwrite , so thank you! love seeing your answers as always hahaha and am always thankful that you remember me for these games <3  1. Go to song when you need to get into the mood to write? sad songs. usually my favourite jay chou song, or some really sad hua chenyu pieces. but yea, always sad mandopop.  and then i write a funny scene right HAHAHAHA ok no not always (my recent snippet was following a sad hcy song and it is ... hm. is it sad? i don’t know.) 2. Dream director for a film/television adaption? taikaaaa yoooooo!!! shout out to my best boy i can’t wait to watch jojo rabbit!  edgar wright in the lines of the cornetto trilogy &/ scott pilgrim like man the cornetto trilogy was l i f e  stephen chow for the most ridiculous nonsensical situational comedy that takes place in my wip (i’m thinking the fish scene, yall know that elusive fish scene that i always name-drop but never go into specifics about - gimme that in the style of kungfu hustle’s strongest woman!) 3. If you ever saw your WIP go to stage, is more likely to be a play or a musical? musical. it’d be a very boring play since nothing happens, and it’s ridiculous enough for the characters to break out in random musical numbers and still be valid. on immediate thought i can imagine teng wailing into the night singing a song about a forlorn love while zhen throws a shoe at him and jun sings a bad back-up harmony and ren is just there in the corner, rubbing at his temples and shou will act the part of the audience on stage and cheer and throw flowers and wail equally loudly in tears of absolute astonishment and delight yes. 4. Favourite thing you’ve written? eh. in my wip, or in general???? honestly i can’t think of anything. sometimes when i’m re-reading my writing / drabbles / whatever, in hindsight im like ‘whoa i wrote that??’ and then i re-read it AGAIN and im like ‘ew, i wrote that?’ and the cycle repeats x100 my favourite thing from my wip so far though, i think i have an actual scene for that. it’s this scene after all of them listens to this story. they are really affected by it, though none of them show it, and the next day shou just goes wandering around the streets and has this sorta experience and  it’s written a little vague, a little dazed and confused but also really... hm. kinda magical-ish and surreal and i think it was written pretty ... nicely. yea. HAHA. (maybe i’ll let you read it someday *winks* HAHAHAHAHA) 5. Top five authors, go! ME.  jk hahahahahaha. do i mean just kidding or do i mean jkr? who knows?? okay in all seriousness i love leigh bardugo, i love marie lu, ofc i love my man rick riordan and my childhood hero roald dahl. the last one’s for grabs, who wants to throw their name into the hat?  6. Biggest influences to your writing? idk, a lot of things. music and musical scenery (as in, yknow, certain visualisations you get when listening to songs & its mood and atmosphere etc. also i was watching pavarotti the other day for work, yknow the film about italian opera tenor luciano pavarotti? and in that film they mentioned something pretty interesting, in that in italian opera they first write down the lyrics, and then only after do they compose music to go with the lyrics so that each music strand is as evocative of the feeling of the word as possible, and i think that’s really cool) humour, definitely. most of my OCs came about from a line of dialogue that i just needed them to say. yes they are all manifestations of words. isn’t that all characters?  but really. mostly just a sort of feeling. can’t really describe it. that’s why i have a hell of a difficult time getting inspirations huh? 7. What do you use more, first/second/third person? when i was younger i used to do first person, but now i can’t stand to do first person hahaha it’s just a little odd for me i need my third-person. sometimes i can’t really bear to read first-person either, at least since i’ve grown older. i don’t really know why, can’t pinpoint it. some first-persons are really good though. 8. What social media would your OCs have? uhhhh i’m not a big social media person, so i don’t really know. i’ve stopped using instagram since the beginning of this year, and it’s odd because people never remember that i don’t use instagram. it’s like a thing that everyone assumes that everyone has and uses, i guess -- it just can’t stick in their minds that i’m not anymore. just an interesting observation 9. Why do you write the genre you write? the more important question is, what is my genre? HAHAHA. okay i don’t know, i just like writing character and character interactions and i love introspective pieces (even though mine, arguably, isn’t particularly introspective since no one wants to think in that, tsk, typical humans) 10. Team Edward or Team Jacob? when i read the books i was a 100% team jacob, until he went and imprint on a newborn baby and i was like ew bro what’s wrong with you so i’m team no-one now. both sides are creepy, unfortunately. 11. i was tagged by @cawolters for this questionnaire!! thank you for remembering me <3 and for tagging me in this because this set of questions seem quite fun to do!! 1. If your OC(s) had a car, what would it be? Model, paint job, decorations, gas/electric/hybrid?

Oh no. Ohhh no. I might have to quietly excuse myself from this question... I can barely recognise the different car brands, much less talk about... whatever else you’re asking me to in the question.  i’m sorry, i’ll see myself out. 2. What parts of your OCs’ personality have come from your own?

i don’t base my OCs on myself!! but after writing them for a while and yknow, ruminating about it after tons of questions on the topic... i guess... i see some parts of my personality emerge in some of them. in terms of laziness, i am totally Zhen. i am hella lazy. i wouldn’t leave the house if i can help it. my friends know that, since i’ve been dutifully going to school every weekday of the week from 9 to 6 just to finish our thesis project over these past few months (since last year), they’re not going to be seeing much of me in april after the project is over. i am GOING HOME IMMEDIATELY AFTER CLASS. NOT GOING TO SCHOOL WHEN I HAVE NONE. you want me to go out and meet my friends? pfffft fat chance, i’m going to be staying at home and reacquainting my ass to my bed. and do you think i’ll actually be productive at home? naaaah. gonna be watching all my shows and lying in bed and basically rotting at home and pondering about the existence of my future after graduation and weeping in bed because of it. so yea, i’m completely zhen. 

i also love to eat, like lu!! but i’m quite picky, unlike lu, and my appetite has become smaller over the years, so i can’t eat as much as i used to. but it’s still a big part of my personality! i love food!! i want food right now!! i can be dramatic like shou / teng, but while theirs is more of a... sincere, genuine kind of dramatic, i just do it for fun, like for dramatic purposes yknow, so that’s more like jun. i overreact just for fun, and sometimes my friends think i’m really so dramatic (rolls eyes they don’t know me well enough!!) but it’s really just entertaining to myself. i’m also like jun in the sense that i can be really really deadpan and unresponsive, especially if i’m not close to you / not comfortable around you. other than that, hmmm. i can think of more, some deeper stuff, but not gonna talk about it now! you don’t want to see me cry, do you?? (just kidding, i won’t. probably. hopefully.) 3. And what parts of your OCs’ personalities do you wish you had?

oh, i wish i had shou’s genuine, innocent love for people and society in general. it’s hard to be that way, and it’s just so pure. i also hope to have yu(f)’s determination and motivation, because as i said earlier, i’m hella lazy and am a huge procrastinator. i wish for jia’s confidence and zhen’s disregard for anything that’s not important (i’m too easily affected by things), and to be as easygoing as ren / jun and as kind as teng.  my OCs are such great people really, i’d love to know them in real life.

4. What is your favorite joke in your WIP/stories?

AHH i don’t know. i think everything is great (i mean, i wrote them, ahem ahem). i really really don’t know. my OCs are all a joke tbh, and they’re my favourite jokes.  (awww is that too mushyyy well too bad it’s true) 5. Do you have any jokes that you want to include, but can’t figure out how to? What are they?

Please. my wip is a mess because i include everything and anything that i can. haven’t included much innuendo, but that’s all going to be piled into jun’s backstory . (okay fine, not that many, but still)

i also really really like self-referential jokes, like meta stuff yknow, but i’ve actually included a tiny bit of that in my wip. all said by jun. and it’s very very vague, but i enjoy it anyway.

6. What does your OC do when they get annoyed? Angry? Pissed?

let’s go with ‘pissed’, because in my wip itself my OCs get annoyed a lot (i mean... you see who they have to deal with and you’ll understand), so it’s not as fun talking about it.

zhen would be really really really scary, like murderous scary because she doesn’t get pissed often, if ever (she’s a pretty chill girl) and like, i don’t know exactly what she’ll do to you but you’ll cry. you’ll wish you had never met her. just, don’t.

shou is scary too, and he fights really well, and if your ‘pissing him off’ triggers him to fight, well, you’re gonna get your ass kicked. 

lu’s a small kid, so he often feels powerless, and if he gets really pissed he might shout, he might yell, but very likely after all of that venting, he’ll cry, and he’ll be doubly upset about that.

yu(f) would scream at you, like you’re going to suffer critical damage because she’s not going to hold anything back. she’ll feel bad about it afterwards, but in the midst of everything, she’s not going to hold back and you’re going to feel really bad about yourself

ren is nice. too nice. he’ll stand up for others, and if he scolds you, it’ll be more in a really serious lecturing kinda way, like you’ve disappointed the person you respect the most and you’ll feel bad, not because of him, but because of yourself and your own doings. 

teng wouldn’t scold you, because if ren’s nice, teng’s the epitome of nice. and he’s kind, so he wouldn’t want to hurt you. he’ll keep it to himself and maybe cry about it to someone else later.

jun would probably shut down. i mean, his emotions are usually already pretty closed off, but if he’s really pissed, he doesn’t like to show his emotions and he’ll probably shut down really quickly. he only attacks you if there’s something he wants you to do, so yea.

yu(m) would get all quiet and serious and he’ll probably walk away. he won’t engage, and he’s not the type to explode, but he also won’t take this kind of shit from people and he’ll just walk it off. most mature OC tbh.

7. What is the theme song of one of your supporting characters?

all my characters are pretty main! i can’t answer this! they all are main and they all support one another!

8. If given a bouquet of flowers, how would your OC react?

i’ll just talk about the significant reactions. teng will cry out of joy and happiness and he’ll immediately propose to whoever who gave him the bouquet of flowers and promise a ton of things because his love is finally here!!!

9. What was one of your most grounded moments in one of your WIPs?

my whole wip is pretty grounded. like... okay i can think of a lot of moments though. shou talking about life with jun, shou talking about stuffs with lu, shou talking about more things with teng...

i mean, it’s mostly all with shou because, yknow. he talks, and thinks, a lot. also, he’s considered the main MAIN character so yea.

10. What resources do you use for brainstorming new characters?

mostly thinking about what characters i like and drawing inspiration from there!

11. What format do you think would be really interesting for your story (going from, say, text in chapter to illustrations, journal entries, poems, cassette recordings, etc) besides what you’d originally planned for?

i have no idea right now! probably a comic series, because yknow their interactions are great to write about and i love to see them illustrated!

What is your favorite part of writing? characters! characters interacting!! characters doing things! character dialogues!! characters characters characters! 2. Do you prefer reading or writing? HA i haven’t read a novel in a while. but yea i like them both but... yknow. how bout reading my own writing. i’m narcissistic like that  3. How many people have read your stuff? since the next question is specifically about irl, i’m assuming this is about online??? well, i guess all of yall on tumblr have seen my snippets and excerpts right heh (blatant advertising here) (also in case yall don’t know how i differentiate them, snippets are drabbles that i write outside of my main wip and excerpts come directly from the wip draft itself heh) so yea, all of you!! <3 (i guess?????) 4. How many people irl have read your stuff? kinda mentioned this in my previous 11/11/11 tag, but not much. if it’s school stuff then yea, but if it’s my own personal stuff, not really. maybe like a handful in the past, but right now in the present? no one has read my current wip as of yet. 5. Are there any books or movies that inspired your writing? hmmMMMm. in general i guess studio ghibli (in how they make the mundane little everyday stuff magical, i love that), percy jackson (humour lol), mmmm... i actually really don’t know. i’ve been writing for a long time, so i think everything probably just accumulated and it just culminates in this mess that i call my own brand of writing. my friends (who have read my work in the past) say that i actually have a style -- i’m not sure how true that is HAHA but that’s good to know, but i really have no idea what in particular inspired it. 6. How many WIPs do you have? One (or is it two??? but they are of the same... universe-thing.) OKAY like i’ve finished my first draft of my main novel called like all things out of season, and now i’m working (well, barely) on the companion novel so yea.  floating in my head are about three vague forms of ideas though. one of which i have tried numerous times to write but never finished, another is something that i’m like ooooo i’ll write it right after i finish my current one (guess that ain’t happening), and the last is the most vague, most formless one that i just kinda have a feel on but not rly. 7. What are some ideas you had to throw away because you just didn’t have the time to work on them? i’m sure i’ve lost a lot over the years, especially because my memory sucks. also, since my memory sucks... do you expect me to remember these lost ideas??? 8. Have you ever written any poetry? Wanna show some of your stuff? the first time i ever touched poetry was two years ago for a creative writing class. they all kinda suck... do i want to show my stuff??? hmmmmm.... let me take a peek at what i’ve written then well it is pretty cringe but if you wanna read it (scroll through if you don’t want a cringe fest)

(1. don’t ask me about the formatting, idk why i did it this way  2. i think the assignment was... okay who am i kidding, idk what the assignment was about. but i think i just thought it’d be interesting to do a poem using like chinese mythology or something like that. speaking of which, the AU that i wanna write of my novel is kinda also about chinese mythology hmmm... did i say too much) 9. What’s your favorite line/scene you’ve ever written (several are possible of course)? i don’t have a favourite line, but for a scene... i’ve mentioned this somewhere else before (in response to an ask i think), but there was this really important scene that i knew, even before starting my novel, that i had to write and it was simply about this man telling them a story. and i had no idea what i’d write, how it’ was going to play out and everything, but then it came out so beautifully and evocative even though while writing i had no idea what i was doing and i actually felt what i was meant to feel in that story and i just lkjkdlfkjsdlfkd i have a lot of feelings to that  and i can’t show it to yall cuz it’s like, the first main turning point of the story. right after that scene was this kinda sleepover-ish scene with Shou and Jun and i loved writing that too because shou was adorable and excited and jun was understandably not impressed and yknow, it was kinda important too in the whole state of things. OF COURSE before that i enjoyed writing the scene where almost all of them (except the female yu) converged together in the noisies’ place and just had a whole lot of mess and fun yeah that entire portion was great because they all happened kinda altogether at once. 10. What’s your favorite quote i don’t think i have one 11. What’s your favorite quote by someone you know? well it’s not my favourite, but it’s the most iconic one that i can remember right now. we were predrinking before going to a club and one of my friends bought vodka, which yknow tastes like nail varnish and is just terrible (i mean... even if you like vodka... you gotta admit, it feels like it can melt your throat off) while others bought like ~~ wine~~ and stuff and she was like “well we just wanna get drunk right so might as well jump straight into it” and that line stuck with me ever since. girl’s got her priorities straight. (if this makes me seem like i like drinking, i really don’t. and i hate wine HAHA) 12. What’s your favorite book? you are a devil. also. no, ain’t answering that. thank you, next. 13. Which book do you regret reading? i had a bunch of them when i was younger, but... i don’t really remember right now. really 14. Is there something you regret writing? when i was younger i once wrote something in the pov of a cat. do i regret it? no.  it was really stupid though. 15. If your OC’s were actual people in your life, what would your relationship be like? oh ho ho. zhen would be the laziest friend ever and i’d probably be really annoyed at her because it’ll be impossible to go out and hang out with her, but yknow what? i’m basically the same.

shou would be annoying in a different way, he’ll be so overly-excited and energetic that i’ll just be like... stop. and he’s the sort who’ll go around talking to random strangers on the street and as a massive unsociable introvert, i’ll be drowning there in my shyness and inability to talk as he goes out yammering and yammering about who knos what (true story, i have a friend as sociable as him. even when we’re talking to mutual acquaintances, i’m just there. a statue, meant to decorate the setting in which she’s in) i can’t communicate with kids, so i’ll probably be really really awkward with lu. like really. maybe i’ll talk to him a little bit, but i can foresee it to be a very uncomfortable interaction, at least on my part. lol yu(f). i don’t think i can talk to her either. she’s too stressed out and working too hard and i don’t like to bother people like that, especially if we aren’t friends yet. ren would be really easy to talk to, he’s just so laidback and chill and nice, like he’s probably the kind of classmate you’ll just end up casually talking to when you meet on the way to class or on the way out from class. i don’t know if we’ll actually become friends, but we’ll end up being at least friendly acquaintances. i think i’d probably avoid teng in real life. he’s way too loud and dramatic and remember, i’m an introverted girl who doesn’t like to have attention on herself... and with him, yknow you’re gonna get all the attention. likewise with jun, you’re gonna get so much attention with him. but i think i could be friends with him tbh. he acts aloof and is pretty snarky and prickly but once i get past that (if i ever do, which to be frank i might not), i think we could be friends. i probably won’t be friends with yu (m) because he’s that strong silent type and unless i’m made to sit with him in class, i probably won’t ever start up a conversation with him. i most likely wouldn’t be friends with jia because she’s the really attractive, popular type yknow? she’s a nice person and i’d probably be friends with her IF we ever spoke to one another, but considering chances of that are low, i don’t think we’d end up friends. i’m reusing the above questions ^ and tagging a few more people @insearchof-solace (sorry tagging you back just because i want to know your answer for the last one HAHA) @usuallydecentwriter @sunnydaysarealwaysgrey @farrradays

here’s another 11/11/11 tag by @inexorableblob !! i feel like it’s been a while since i interacted with you, and i loved reading your answers!!! anyway, here it goes again!

How many of your characters have survived dangerous situations? HA. well, considering they’re all ahem, un-alive right now, i think none of them have survived.

Which of your characters forgets their own birthday? shou, definitely shou. for how much he overthinks, he can be quite muddle-headed. ren too, probably. it’s just not really on the calendar for him. jun would too, but it’s less of forget and more of it doesn’t really matter to him.

Camping Week or Day Trip to the spa for you? i love staying in the forest!!!! 

What is the most unpleasant place in your WIPs? uhhh. to most of the characters it’d probably be by the lake, but i think the lake has some fairly important scenes. who am i kidding, the lake has the most important scenes. but yea, probably the lake. for zhen it’d be the noisies’ apartment because yknow, testosterone-infested. ewww.  for shou it’ll be the tavern where ren works at because... the ‘tea’ there (it’s actually coffee) is horrendous. 

What hairstyles do you pick for your OCs? oh no i’m not good at the visualising department! i mean, shou would have the hairstyle reminiscent of his time (Ming dynasty), and in the afterlife he just kinda pulls his long hair into a ponytail, a bun, a braid, whatever he pleases.  lu has messy-ish hair that he can’t be bothered to tame.  jun has soft-looking, silky hair that he doesn’t need to tame. teng probably tries to style his hair but it still sticks up everywhere and he basically looks like a thug. yu(f) usually has her hair in a messy bun or in any sort of updo, as long as it doesn’t bother her.

How many times have you changed residences in your life? um never i guess

What was the last thing you had an OC eat? hmmmmm. hmMMMMMmmMMMM. probably shou’s coffee. no wait! a sugared gourd! unless water counts??

What would your OCs buy if they won the lottery? zhen would throw most of it in the bank, randomly choose something to invest in in hopes that the value will inflate and she’ll earn more money (but she doesn’t yknow, research, so chances of her losing her earnings are pretty high) shou will spend a long time thinking about it. a really really really long time. maybe what he buys is insight into the future and the living and society of the upper-class rather than a tangible physical object. lu will buy food. lots of it. hide the money in a bag under his bed or something and stuff the food also under his bed. might get a lil something or two for his parents, but might not as well, really depends on his mood on that day. yu(f) would store it all in the bank, no question. ren would donate a lot of it and give a bulk of it to his parents too and share them with his friends who might need it. teng would give it to his loved ones too, like his family etc., or donate it to whatever cause he believes in. he’ll probably keep a smal amount for himself too. jun would splurge, doesn’t matter where the money goes as long as it goes somewhere. throw money around! get a jacuzzi! go on an impromptu trip! what is planning for a rainy day when it’s storming all the time anyway?? yu(m) would be the most reasonable. he’d put a portion in a bank and make good, well-informed investments, he’d give some of it to his parents because filial piety, and well yea. he’s smart. jia would probably use it to invest in herself. like if there’s anything she wants to do, if she wants to set up a business or create something and that needs money, she’s going to fund it herself immediately. maybe a little percentage of it goes to her parents as well, but it’s mostly to invest in herself.

What’s the most unfair thing you’ve written in your WIPs? i don’t really know. maybe what’s unfair is that a gem of a man like teng still has no one to love him. that boy needs some love!!!

If you switched bodies with somebody, what would you expect them to do first? what they would want to do first in my body???? probably pet my dog, not gonna lie. i’d do that too if i was in my own body for the first time.

Are there any cryptids in your WIP? Which ones? If not, which is your favorite? nope! unless, as the all-knowing god watching things from above as a murky amorphous figure, i am the cryptid. in that case, i am my favourite.
