Alchemy, the untouched friend of Witchcraft

If there is something interesting that is nearly not used on mostly of the witch community, is Alchemy, and is something from which we could take some few useful stuffs.

As always, disclaimer first, I’m not an expert on the subject and I barely if I read a couple of books about the topic (from another 10 untouched ones lol), so as always in life, take what I say with tweezers. This is meant to be a light superficial view to open a door of possibilities in a mix of Witchcraft and Alchemy, is not a thesis. Saying that, to the core of the question.

Alchemy use elements. A lot of them.

The three primes or Tria Prima (the basic 3 materials): Sulfur (Related to the Soul and the principle of combustibility, so it has volatility, can burn, explode, combust), Mercury (Related to the Spirit, the principle of fusibility so the material can be fused together and volatility so a substance vaporizes), and Salt (Relate to the Body, the principle of non-combustibility and non-volatility).

Our beloved Four basic Elements: Air, Earth, Fire, Water.

The Seven Metals associated with the seven classical planets: Lead, corresponding with Saturn. Tin, corresponding with Jupiter. Iron, corresponding with Mars. Gold, corresponding with the Sun. Copper, corresponding with Venus. Mercury, corresponding with Mercury. Silver, corresponding with the Moon.

The 13 Mundane Elements and Later Metals: Antimony, Arsenic, Bismuth, Cobalt, Magnesium, Manganese, Nickel, Oxygen, Phlogiston, Phosphorus, Platinum, Sulfur, Zinc (All of them with a lot of interesting properties and functions, in and out the alchemy world).

The 10 Alchemical Compounds: Acid, Sal ammoniac, Aqua fortis, Aqua regia, Aqua vitae, Amalgam, Cinnabar, Vinegar, Vitriol, Brimstone (All of them also with amazing properties).

And what interesting me the most (at least to my way to do witchcraft), The 12 Alchemical Processes:

Calcination (Aries): The thermal treatment of a solid to removing impurities or volatile substances.

Congelation (Taurus): Term used in medieval and early modern alchemy for the process known today as crystallization. Process by which a solid form into a structure known as a crystal, by precipitating from a solution or freezing.

Fixation (Gemini): Process by which a previously volatile substance is "transformed" into a form (often solid) that is not affected by fire.

Solution (Cancer): Homogeneous mixture composed of two or more substances. In such a mixture, a solute is a substance dissolved in another substance, known as a solvent.

Digestion (Leo): A process in which gentle heat is applied to a substance over a period of several weeks.

Distillation (Virgo): Separating the components or substances from a liquid mixture by using selective boiling and condensation.

Sublimation (Libra): The transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state, without passing through the liquid state.

Separation (Scorpio): Converts a mixture or solution of chemical substances into two or more distinct product mixtures. Process of distinguishing to two or more substance in order to obtain purity.

Ceration (Sagittarius): Chemical process, by continuously adding a liquid by imbibition to a hard, dry substance while it is heated. Typically, this treatment makes the substance softer.

Fermentation/ Putrefaction (Capricorn): A metabolic process that produces chemical changes in organic substrates through the action of enzymes/ Decomposition of organic matter by bacterial or fungal digestion.

Multiplication (Aquarius): Process to increase the potency of the elixir or projection powder, in order to increase the gains in the subsequent projection.

Projection (Pisces): Process to transmute a lesser substance into a higher form; often lead into gold.

Damn, alchemy even have symbols to Units: Month, Day, Hour, Dram (Unit of mass between 1 and 3 grams), Half Dram, Ounce (Unit of mass, weight or volume of 28 grams, Half Ounce, Scruple (1 grams), Pound (500 grams).

So just with this simple 2 pages of basic Wikipedia info, we have a ton of new things to use. Everything here has specific properties, some more physical and chemical oriented, but others (like the 3 Tria Prima and The 12 Alchemical Processes) have a lot of correspondences with the witch life itself.

The 12 Alchemical Processes could be absolutely used to represent an desired outcome.

Calcination uses thermal treatment, so it can boost the Fire element of a spell. It also “removing impurities or volatile substances”, so can be applied to generate a mild fever to get rid off the flu, or to boost the organs that clean the body (kidneys and liver mostly)

Congelation turns a solid by freezing, can boost the Water element, so all the “freezer spells” can be boosted with this.

Fixation? A volatile substance is transformed into a solid form? Sound pretty much to grounding, or to help to focus an ADHD head as mine, or to put down to earth someone who is VOLATILE AND VIOLENT. Also, Earth element.

Solution? Homogeneous mixture of two or more substances? It sounds like an aid to make two people on conflict to get into an agreement, or to boost a new business by mixing the opportunities with the action. Air element.

Digestion. A process in which gentle heat is applied to a substance over a period of several weeks? It sounds like something that can help any process that need digestion (bad news must be “digested”, hard choices must be “consulted with the pillow”), and the “gentle heat” sounds comforting. Someone is grieving? Maybe Digestion can help them to overcome the awful times.

Distillation. Separating the components or substances. Anything that need to be separated can be helped with this. Relationships that must end, breakups, cut the ties with older things or habits.

Sublimation. The transition of a substance. I heard trans rights? Can this maybe help with your hormones? Or even to transition from what you previously left behind with the distillation, to focus in a new better future.

Separation. Process of distinguishing to two or more substance in order to obtain purity. How to choose from two or more choices? How to pick the better one? The one with purity? Separation maid aid.

Ceration. A hard, dry is heated to make it softer. Make that person less frigid, make the boss less bitchy, make your chronic pain less hurtful, make your bills less heavy, all that you can think in make softer.

Fermentation/ Putrefaction. I personally love this one. Produces changes in organic substrates and decomposition of organic matter by bacterial or fungal digestion. Prime element to curses. All what you want to rid off in the most disgusting way. May their flesh get rotten under a car in a hot summer.

Multiplication. Process to increase the potency of the elixir in order to increase the gains in the subsequent projection. MONEY MONEY MAKE MORE MONEY, all what need to be increased and all what you want to multiply, go go go!

Projection. Transmute a lesser substance into a higher form “lead into gold”. Perfect to get better as a person, to learn to adapt, accept, to grow compassion, love, etc.

At this you can add the Units, the metals and mundane elements, the 4 elements, the tria prima, your crystals and herbs and sigils and all. And your spells will be filled with components and correspondences.

What’s better, a lot of the physical elements are not too hard to get (some yes, they are, but you are not here to make lead into gold with a full set of chemistry), but alchemy use a lot of symbology, so even if you don’t have the physical element, you can use their properties with the symbol, just as any other sigil.

Salt is easy. Tin in a food can. Antimony in mostly all the rocks. Arsenic in apple seeds (technically no but still). Cobalt and Manganese basically everywhere. Magnesium in your own body. Nickel in coins. Oxygen in the air., Phosphorus, Zinc and Sulfur in food. Acid in anything acid lol. Aqua vitae in alcohol (especially Whisky). Vinegar in vinegars.

Long story short, if you feel that maybe you are lacking something, check some books about alchemy would maybe help. Don’t pick super chemical specific pro books and don’t be discouraged by the terms, pick what can be useful to you, and I hope this open some doors and bring more curiosity about this amazing topic.

All these moths eat trees and shrubs and weeds. Their caterpillars are feeding baby birds this time of year. To help moths, and birds by proxy, if you have a garden: pls keep some weeds. Don't go wild on the tidying and pruning. Tell your friends that you're helping your local insects and indeed ecosystem. Persuade them to stop weeding and instead look out for insects and birbs. They're way more fun.

The normally lax enderman leaned over the balcony, screaming over the omens of strong winds and flying leaves. This was too close, too soon, too similar to the last mess he had gotten himself into. The void was silent, still, nearly a year to use was only a few weeks away from the Orb of Dominance. He finally tried to make a change and settle down, now this...this happens. Your task now, is to SURVIVE while formulating potential plans to take down the Wither Storm!

[ The Wither Storm has now begun to roam the Overworld, reaching this stage it has acquired three sets of tractor beams and an ever increasing insatiable apatite for blocks AND mobs. Though slow, it hones in on anything living, and seeks to snuff it out as quickly as possible, or assimilate it into it's growing form.

Corrupted blocks cover the command block that powers the beast as it continues it's rampage, the destruction growing even more extreme as time moves on. In regions it has passed from, the ground is stripped bare, even to Bedrock.

Already, casualty reigns in one desert town.. Mobs, people, the very ground itself is coated in ruin... It's ruler.. gone.]

Responses will add to the meter above and progress the Storm through various stages. Hints will occasionally be dropped over the Stage should participants find themselves stuck on what to do.

Fighting back against the Storm.

Avoiding the Storm.

Finding ways to distract the Storm from areas.

Ect.

Cecelia: who was that, this late at night? It’s not safe… I’ll go check on them. ‘It was coming from here…’ Cecelia thought

An injured evoker laid on the grass, Cecelia panicked, “oh my- I’ll try and find someone!”

“No”, the evoker said, ”please stay with me, I am beyond saving. I don’t want to die alone please! I had so much faith in my higher ups I did everything they demanded without question. In return, they left me in the mud to rot. ”

Cecelia kneeled gently on the grass and asked, “what happened?”

“well”, the evoker started, “we needed potion ingredients… then it appeared… everyone abandoned me to save themselves… I escaped with minor withering, when I went to a village for milk, I got attacked. I dragged myself here to die”. He seemed to have great difficulties trying to remember what had happened. The evoker shifted to look at Cecelia, “now you tell me, why haven’t you left me, an Illager, to simply perish?”

almost instantly, Cecelia replied, “because that would be very wrong.”

“You're to good for this world, take my totem”, the evoker stated

“but you’ll die!” Cecelia refused the totem

“I’m not worth saving, it’s not going to work anyway, an emeralds missing”

Cecelia had an idea,”is there a way to mask life with it”

“Yes, it’s very dark magic, what are you willing to sacrifice?”

“Anything”, Cecelia stated.

“First repair the totem with an emerald, then take the blood of everyone you want to protect. Use the blood, and the totem as an offering. Everyone will become ghost like entities; neither dead nor alive”, the evoker seemed like he was trying to remember something, “this all requires a sacrifice who the nether beings will gladly accept.”

“S-sacrifice?”, Cecelia repeated startled.

“They’ll accept just about anything”, the evoker added calmly.

“what’s your name?”, Cecelia asked

“Edward ”

Due to some background planned stuff, I will be opted out from the invasion(? I assume) event. There are just some planned major Steven stuff that I'll be revealing in the Nether Comet Arc, some sadly may clash with the aforementioned event. And since this is the "final" arc, I think having two massive things happen at the same time may be detrimental to both plots...

It looks mighty cool, don't get me wrong! I just can't make it this time. ; ;)

^^ in a atempt to socialize with the creature fake james used his incredible analysis and spotting natural ability and examined the creatures body visualy by its powers and its aperece his mindset change-ing...... annnnduhhhhhhh- Fake james: *eyes roll to the sides and simply we go into his mindset WHICH IS A REFERENCE TO POKEMON BY THE WAY LOL*, HIS MINDSET HAS BEEN CHANGED and now HE WILL USE HIS ULTIMATE ABILITY maybey one of his very FEW abilitys

His goopy body has changed and is slowly increasing in size!, for those who might not know Fake james' shapeshifting ability has various limitations specialy in the facts of copying powers, fake james is incredibly skilled and can copy anything that size is as big as 4 enderdragon islands, the problem is that he can't shapeshift whiout have seen the enemy and examined their body well, and they can't copy their powers unless he had fisical contact with their body, the other rule that applys to this is the fact that any and all powers he copys will be half less powerful then normal makeing him weaker against his oponents but somehow more durable!, the other problem is that he has a limited amount of body mass he can carry in his ender eye, alltho imense, his capacity of body mass has a limit, every hit he takes that is fisical like sliceing,punching and even dismenbering can be easily reatched the problem is if its frozen or burned, Fake james is weak to fire and ice (fire incinerates his body mass, and ice makes it solid and unable to regenerate), unless the potential creature he copys has some kind of resistance to those factors, he will keep regenerating, but if hes loseing his energy and concentration the shapeshifting and the powers become weak and he becomes more vunerable and the only way for him to regenerate body mass IS TO USE THAT ENERGY,

BEHOLD WITHER STORM, YOUR DIRECT OPONENT they say the hardest thing to kill is yourself, WELL THEN TRY TO KILL YOURSELF IF YOU CAN, or befriend it idk, since fake james is only do this cuz he thinks storm is " f r i e n d" And don't underestimate him, again he can shapeshift any part of his body, if he wants he could very much make other body parts come out of him to make his life easier!, SO WITHER STORM VS FAKE STORM! BEGIN! (OMG I ALLWEYS WANTED TO DO THIS! A KAIJU like battle made with fake james!, THIS IS GOING TO BE BLASTING AWSOME!!!) the host of the event is @brimstone-and-cinnabar GO CHECK HIM OUT EVERYONE! Ps about the fake storm: (The two other heads have a mind of their own, and praticaly pieces of fake james could make copys of himself and other mobs that can atleast intaque the body mass but that would require his concentration to multiply for the amount of copys so he probably ... won't do that)

Welcome MC Ask Blog community to my very first fandom wide event. Something I always wanted to host ever since I ran ol' Hades/Nova back a year or so ago.

The Gilded Twilight Empire has unleashed the horiffic monstrosity known as The Wither Storm into the Overworld, and have also shut down both Nether and End Travel outside of allied territories!

For what gain or what purpose? Who's to say, but the message is clear.

Event Details

The event will take place is several 'Stages' all forwandered by community participation and reactions. Information reguarding what 'Stage' the event is currently at will be located within the Pinned Post of this blog!

The event will take place in a total of 5 stages, and this marks the beginning of Stage 1!

Stage 1: Opt-in

The first stage is the awakening of the Storm itself, all participants must create a reactionary image to gaining the Achievement...

Edited to Add: If your characters don't function on the 'Game Logic' feel free to have them react to either the Pulse-Wave created from the beast, the Earthquakes it will cause or the world-shattering cry it let out in the comic here!

Your characters can react in how ever way you deem fit, it is up to YOU if the character(s) know exactly what this means or not.

The Opt-In phase is to get a general headcount for the event so I can plan the following stages accordingly and will last for 1-2 weeks or until I receive at LEAST 3 reactions. (Please tag @brimstone-and-cinnabar in your reactions!)

Orchid had run back to the village she, her brother, and friends called home and rung the defense bell...

"There's a calamity coming! Please get to safety!" She called out, getting the Villager's attention. They had felt the same shock wave that Orchid had felt the moment before... And where frightened.

Jay, Orchid's librarian friend, began to guide the Villagers to what they believe is a safe place. Though they never thought it would happen they did plan another route to escape any calamities that might befall the village...

Orchid herself ran straight to the building she called home and started gathering supplies.

'I can't just run from this....' she thought as she entered her home.

'Someone is going to fight whatever it is...' she grabbed as many Enchanted Apples she could grab and put in her bag.

'They are going to need all the help they can get...' she grabbed a few potions of healing to share.

'It might be a good idea to take this too...' she took her spare ender chest, in case she needed to get more Enchanted apples...

Mason called out for Orchid "Sis, where are you?! We have to get to safety!"

Smith was running through the streets "Orchid! We have to go! Where are you?!"

But Orchid was already out of the village, and headed towards the approaching danger... 'I can't fight to save my life... But, I can at the very least give whoever is choosing to fight back a fighting chance... I just hope potions and apples will be enough...' she thought to herself, knowing the risk she was taking...
