Ok so for the last couple days I've been staying up late thinking about this roommates/modern au I made up for watchdogs and I've been having fun crossing and blending the lines between fanon and canon and just idk I created things !!

(unrelated but sorry for clogging up all the watchdogs tags I'm very brainrotted about it atm I can't just like stuff in a casual way)

First and foremost I was thinking to myself 'hmm what if Horatio lives but ALMOST dies and Josh is the first to find him' and that lead to this thing down here:

The outher stuff down below I was like 'these guys would get so deep into bluey' n like I know canonically wrench hates dogs BUT I'm choosing to ignore that in this au for this entirely self indulgent

When I began this year, it was with the anticipation of finding our own home - for my sons and I - whilst living at my parents. It was filled with anxiety over the waiting for 5's confirmation of an autism diagnosis, it was with worry for a nephew who has LCH, and with fear of the long road ahead for my Dad who was wanting for open heart surgery.

In May, 5 was diagnosed officially. In June, my nephew was given hopeful news, and in July my Dad was recovering amazingly well from him surgery. ...it looked good for the months ahead and, feeling better, I began writing again - this time, in the PB fandom.

And then in late July, my narcissistic mother had a breakdown and kicked me and my sons out of "her fucking house". My Dad refused to allow her to do it, thankfully, and while we all lived in her shadow of anger and cruelty, I found a house for my sons and I and we moved within about 2 weeks. By August, my sons and I were in our own home and, while I was nervous for my Dad, I was happy out and so were my boys.

My Dad was due to go back to work in October but began suffering with a pain he'd had for about 18 months, but had died down whilst he recovered from surgery. This time, though, the pain was worse. They found a tumour on his pancreas and while they were just short of diagnosing it was cancer with a biopsy, we knew this was the case from blood work. Complications from the tumour caused bleeding on the spleen which led to sepsis, which stole him from us on November 29th.

We had his funeral and Christmas in alarming succession. He should be here and he is not, and it is a fucking cruelty. I started this year hopeful, and I end it numb. I have no plans for the time ahead, no wishes or aims, because ultimately what will be, will be. But I do hope - for my sons to be well, for my siblings and nephews and niece to well, for my mother to see the error of her ways and do better. I am so thankful for those of you I've met in this fandom recently - you've all been kind, and funny, and sweet. You're all a talented bunch of people, and I'm glad I've met you!

Happy New Year? Let's hope.
