I think that Saraqael is one to watch. She recognized the purple energy burst, she could at least sense Goob/Jim when he fanned the Terry Pratchett book in her face. And wasn't a jerk boss to Muriel like the other Archangels.

But. Very importantly. She recognized Crowley in Heaven in his (atrocious) angel disguise, wasn't accusatory, and USED HIS CHOSEN NAME. Didn't deadname him, remembering their work on the Horsehead Nebula (pictured). And she, and Muriel, have elements of PURPLE in their clothing. I think she could be an ally to Aziraphale and/or see him if Metatron tries to conceal him (theoretically, obviously me speculating).

Also: as a wheelchair user, I WHOOPED when she made her OWN RAMP into the bookshop.🥰

two of my favorite hcs that i have are that andrew is like an extreme car guy he fucking loves expensive fast cars but he also knows like jackshit. refuses to learn anything about them. originally bought the gs by asking for the most expensive thing he could get within his budget. the maserati gets a flat tire and andrew is staring down at the tire jack like he can explode it with his eyes. the engine makes a weird sound and he just plays the music louder and ignore it. and then u have neil who knows literally nothing about car breeds and what makes them impressive but is like magical when it comes to making them work. takes him 10 minutes to change a tire. he looks under the hood once and suddenly the engine light that was on for 2 months? disappears. he's like 'hey andrew have u ever checked the oil' '...' 'andrew you've had this car for 4 years'. they go on a drive one day and the maserati breaks down so neil shows him how to hotwire a car so they can drive to a nearby garage and andrew thinks it's the hottest thing he's ever done

this is not the most important takeaway from that article, but we really, really need to talk more about scientology as an organization and how deeply evil, abusive, and exploitative it is. like truly any public figure associated with it on any level who doesn't publicly disavow it or speak out about it deserves an extremely high level of scrutiny.

I think Andrew's desperation to live is a little overlooked in the fandom. It's not explicitly stated in the books, other than his SH scars, but I honestly think it is so important to understanding him and his motivations.

Did Andrew ever plan to live past graduation? Before Kevin came along and promised his life would have worth? Did he plan on disappearing when Aaron eventually walked away from him? Believing nobody would notice if he was gone?

He clung on purely for Aaron, to make sure Aaron had a bright future ahead and could go live without him. To make sure that Nicky could go back to Erik without worry.

Before Neil, Andrew didn't believe he had anything to live for. He made a very one sided deal with Kevin to find something, anything, to build his life around after graduation, believing his brother would leave him alone once again.

Because at the heart of it all, Andrew doesn't want to die. Not really.

Andrew has chronic depression and he is suicidal. He sits on the edges of roof tops to feel. He puts his life on the line again and again with little regard for his own safety. He makes promises that put him at a severe disadvantage.

His promises are what keeps him alive, what forces him to live. Dying would break his promise, and Andrew has suffered enough from broken promises.

He doesn't want to die. He wants to survive those who beat him down. He wants to move on. He wants to get better. He wants to live.

He just doesn't know how.

I understand why andrew believed neil was a hallucination because what do you mean neil told him "you spend all this time watching our backs, who's watching yours? don't say you are because you and I both know you take shit care of yourself" and "if it means losing you then no" when they weren't even dating yet???

can you imagine how it felt hearing this for andrew, who has always been the one protecting people and has been called a monster countless times for being so unforgiving and ruthless when it comes to protecting his family?

andrew has never had anyone in his corner, he spent his entire life feeling completely and utterly alone. he is fine if his brother and his cousin hate him as long as they are safe. HE is the one who protects people not the other way around. and suddenly there is this menace of a boy, fiery temper and piercing blue eyes, who not only doesn't treat andrew like a monster but goes to great length to keep him safe, even if it means getting himself hurt.

the only person who has come close to understanding andrew is renee but she doesn't fully understand him, you know? and then this runaway boy comes into his life and can somehow basically read his mind and soul and tells him shit like "I think it's better this way, with you as the last line of defense. you let us run ourselves into the ground and clean up behind us. you play the game like you play life. that's why you're so good at it." and andrew is supposed to believe that this guy is real?

it's no wonder why andrew's mind can't process neil's existence honestly, he embodies everything andrew never had but always longed for : someone to lean on, someone who believes and respects him, someone who actually listens and understands him, someone who loves him unconditionally

Todd doesn’t talk much in the beginning but I think one random night Todd would go on a sudden 35 minute rant while doing Latin homework about how poetic it is that the Latin word for love is amor cause it sounds like armor, and love makes you feel safe, and Neil would sit there and listen, occasionally adding in comments if it seems like Todd is winding down to get him started up again, and after that Neil tries to get Todd to go on rants whenever he can so he can just sit and listen to Todd go on, sometimes it works and sometimes, especially when they are out and Todd feels anxious, it doesn’t, but every time he does talk on for long bouts of time, Neil just thinks ‘love makes you feel safe’

I often think about Renee and Andrew discussing plans for a zombie apocalypse and Neil feeling bad about thinking he wouldn’t go back for anyone, just cut ties and run when danger comes for him, he actually thinks it’s his instinct, when just weeks before he went to Evermore and got tortured within an inch of his life to try to protect Andrew.

What the heck is being realized by Saraqael in this scene? I've written here that Saraqael's a badass, greeting Crowley almost fondly in Heaven, while he's in his ridiculous angel disguise, accessing very classified records. Y'know, average weekday.

But this gif, she's clearly affected by SOMETHING about the Metatron. She's looking about like "...guys?" Michael's doing her Angelic T-Pose™️, Uriel's looking snooty, and Muriel's still GLOWING like a tiny sun. Once Michael's asking "aNd WhO aRe YoU," look at Saraqael. She's in shadow, practically saying "don't see me" out loud.

Why would a BOSS like her look upward/towards Heaven, looking/reacting fearfully, with a smidge of looking to see if anyone else sees what she (Heaven's Seer of multi-Lazerii energy fluxes and such) sees?

And Muriel is still glowing like a lighthouse, BTW. I think it may just be that she's still the purest of all the heavenly lot.

Sorry I just cannot deal with Kevin Day hate. He spent 11 years in a cult tethered to a psychopath that enjoyed hurting him physically and mentally that carved out his hard edges and defense mechanisms, yes he has a lot of trauma and flaws but he is not a bad person.
