which poisonous flower are you ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lily Of The Valley
This is the poison of giving too much. You feel yourself emptying out, dizzying, discoloring-- until you fear you will fade entirely and wither away. You have always had to give. You never had a choice before. They pluck your flowers for their beauty, they trample your leaves carelessly, they pull out your roots by the fistful and berate you for daring to grow. And now that you have a grove to spread out in, your rhizomes tangle and curl in on themselves. When cruelty is all you've ever known, thriving seems impossible. But the answer is not to make yourself small and offer every lovely thing you are to the world in the hopes it will have mercy on you. The answer is to let yourself dare to thrive for thriving's sake, to grow in the wild ways you wish to-- and to do that for yourself for once.

Oleander
This is the poison of stagnation. You grow drowsy. Your heart rate slows, and when you do move you can't seem to stop shaking. It may seem to others that you're lazy, or reticent. Like you avoid hard work on purpose, like you always take the easy way out. But you know deep down that it wouldn't be like this if you weren't so tired, so deeply tired. If you weren't crushed under the weight of sorrow like a mile of water over your head. Nothing brings you peace, except rest and-- though you can hardly dare to ask-- having someone tend to you gently and sweetly. A good gardener speaks to their plants, sings to them, waters them, fertilizes their soil, prunes the dead parts, nurtures the new growth. You yearn to be cared for like that, even though you feel you don't deserve it. The secret is that you do. You always have. And someday, you'll learn that, and receive that care, and the exhaustion won't keep you from growing strong and lovely anymore. You were never the problem. These are simply poor growing conditions for you.
Tumblr media
Doll's Eyes
This is the poison of unchecked vices. You slip into hallucinations. You are wracked with convulsions. The delirium threatens to overwhelm you. What are you running from? You look in every direction, wild-eyed at every turn, seeking some reprieve from what torments you. Each vice brings new consequences, and the price of escape seems too great, and yet you cannot seem to face things head on. If you aren't running from yourself, I hope you find a true way to freedom soon. And if you are running from yourself, perhaps you would do well to realize your pain is not something you can simply escape by avoidance. You deserve healing just as much as the ones you love. Someday, soon I hope, you will know this and feel it and reach inward to grant yourself all the kindnesses you offer others. That is the only true way to peace for ones like us. Oh, and if the pain of it seems too great? I hope that you realize you don't have to do it alone.
Tumblr media
Belladonna
This is the poison of falling in love. You taste it and your heart beats fast. Your eyes dilate, you fall into deep delirium. You may be a bit dramatic and impulsive, and it gets you into trouble sometimes, but you just can't help yourself. It's in your blood. You love because it is the truest beauty you've found in this harsh world. Even when it's hurt you before, when it's poisoned you, you still find a way. They may call you naive for still believing in it, or vain for making yourself and your surroundings so meticulously lovely. But to love like this is brave and noble, and I hope you find the beauty you seek. Chances are, it's within and all around you already, if you know where to look.

Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, & The Silver Bullet
Aka I did an Oscar as The Little Prince analysis and now I wanna do one for Ruby's allusion in honour of the 10th Anniversary.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know most if not all of us are familiar, but I'm still going to start with a summary.
Little Red is a story about a young girl in a red cloak who is sent into the woods at her mother's behest to bring baked goods to her sick grandmother. There, she meets a malicious wolf that asks her many questions, to which she answers all truthfully and without hesitation. The wolf takes this information and uses it to beat the girl to her destination where he then swallows her grandma whole and disguises himself in the woman's clothes. There he waits for the child to arrive and come closer so he can swallow her up too.
There are actually two popular versions of this story with different endings that we often look back to.
In Perrault's story, there is no happy ending. They're both eaten up, the wolf is content. The end. But in the Grimm version, there is an additional character... the Huntsman (aka the woodsman). He hears the wolf snoring after its meal and ends up cutting the beast open & saving the victims. Then, with the help of Little Red Riding Hood, he kills the wolf before it can do anymore harm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All in all, it's a story about childhood innocence being lost, learning not to trust strangers, and being mindful to always follow the correct path. For if you stray too far, you may lose track of time, invite unwanted danger, or find yourself lost.
Tumblr media
In RWBY, we have some very clear allusions here since it's the basis for so much of the show as a whole:
Little Red - Ruby Rose
The Mother - Summer Rose
The Grandmother - Maria
The Hunstman/Woodsman - All Three of Them
The Wolf - Salem and her Grimm (but ESPECIALLY The Hound)
Tumblr media
They're all pretty self explanatory.
Ruby has the red cloak, her og trailer is clearly inspired by the tale, she loves baked goods, she's referred to as "Red" and "Little Red" by Torchwick & Cinder. She's also a huntress. And, by and large, her entire arc is about losing that childhood innocence and the view that life "is like a fairytale" as well as struggling with what the "right path" to follow is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summer is the mother (baker of cookies) and also the huntsman (slayer of giant monsters). The battle axe being her weapon choice alludes well to the alternate name, Woodsman, as well.
Tumblr media
While Maria as the grandmother makes the most sense. Another silver eyed huntress that becomes a mentor figure for Ruby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And while Salem, her war, & the Grimm (that are all emblematic of that loss of innocence) can absolutely symbolize the wolf... There's a reason why I want to focus on The Hound.
All three previous characters are connected by a very specific common denominator: Silver Eyes.
And the hound is no different.
Just another huntsman... but one devoured by the malice of a canine. And, if Ruby's theory is right, that's the same fate that Summer met as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And if you think about Silver Eyes specifically... What is one of the most famous lines from the original fairytale?
"My, what big eyes you have grandmother." "The better to see you with, my dear."
Which, when applied to the grimmification of SEWs, is HAUNTING.
Tumblr media
Terrifying when you remember "Woah... you have silver eyes". Also thanks to Behind The Scenes content, that Ruby's hair design was always meant to "be a bit wolf-y". And that since Volume 4, Salem has been interested in capturing Ruby alive... I am WORRIED ABOUT HER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some interesting things about silver though that ARE worth noting...
1. "In folklore, a bullet cast from silver is often one of the few weapons that are effective against a werewolf or witch."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. "The term silver bullet is also a metaphor for a simple, seemingly magical, solution to a difficult problem."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. "In the Brothers Grimm fairy-tale of The Two Brothers, a bullet-proof witch is shot down by silver buttons, fired from a gun."
Tumblr media
The lyric "Yeah I'm a girl but I'm also a gun" from Triumph really tells us point blank (lol) why Ruby is so important to this war against Salem, huh.
I'm gonna end this meta on a fun little easter egg; a hidden fifth character allusion to the original Red Riding Hood fairytale: The Woods.
Now I know what you're thinking, the woods aren't a person, they're a location. But they're INCREDIBLY important to the story.
Overall, the woods are the world outside of the cabin that Little Red grows up in. Whenever she travels beyond it, she's liable to meet all sorts of horrible tragedies and monsters. But I want to talk again specifically about The Hound & just where Ruby first meets them: Atlas.
Or, more specifically, Ironwood's kingdom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For those unfamiliar, while Jimmy's main allusion is the Tin Man from Oz, his last name gives us a hint to another subtle allusion: Járnviðr. Aka the Iron Wood of Midgard in Norse Mythology (a mythos that's been alluded to a lot in RWBY).
Whiiich if you look at a stanza (40) in the infamous Völuspá, a historic poem which is chalk full of Norse myths, you get the following passage:
In the east sat an old woman in Iron-wood and nurtured there offspring of Fenrir a certain one of them in monstrous form will be the snatcher of the moon
A poem that talks all about the Biggest Baddest Wolf of the Norse pantheon, Fenrir... who is the offspring of a powerful Witch...
Tumblr media
and is destined to eat the moon...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All within the Iron Wood, a character Ruby spends an entire volume contemplating on whether or not she can trust...
And the moment she does finally tell Ironwood the truth? The secrets she was keeping? The woods become unsafe, the witch and the wolf appear, and everything else falls apart. Resulting her and her team lost and very far from home.
Say what you want about analyses like these but CRWBY knows what they're doing, okay?

What if Jaune was a Xiao-Long? Does he either inherit Tai’s puns but are actually good, or Summer’s obsession with weapons, specifically swords.
Well, let's talk about the changes that would come with Jaune being born a Xiao Long. I'm assuming that he's Raven and Tai's son and Yang's twin brother, since him being Ruby's twin would potentially give him silver eyes and take away Ruby's role as the innocent and pure soul that she is, since she'd have to share the big hero spotlight.
As a Xiao-Long Branwen, Jaune's eyes would be red, blue, or purple, which is a choice of colors I love. Like, Yang isn't red like her mothers or blue like her fathers, but a lovely mix of purple to show she is both her mother's and her father's child. So Jaune also being born with these would be nice, though him having either Tai's or Raven's colored eyes would be a nice contrast to Yang. Also, fourth option, just putting it on the table so it's there, Jaune being heterochromatic with red and blue eyes. But to be honest, that feels a little too OC for me. Honestly, I'm leaning to Tai eyes since it would give Raven more reason to not stick around.
Jaune would grow up with Yang and help raise Ruby, but I could see him acting more like a brother than a father with her. He plays video games and reads comic books with her, while Yang is acting more as a mother-figure, filling in the space Summer left. I can also see Jaune having a Luigi dynamic to Yang's Mario, with him being the more timid and cautious twin of the two. Like, I'm imagining the three leaving to look for Summer with Jaune making constant whines like "Yaaang, we should go back!"
Now, with Jaune's weapon, let's address the goliath in the room. Crocea Mors? Not a thing. There's no family heirloom for him to take from the wall to attend Beacon. Instead, since he'd attend Signal and Beacon with his sisters, he'd make his own weapons. What weapons? Ooh... That's... Oof... If you're familiar with my Ru-Ja-Gun-Con series, you know that there are A LOT of weapons Jaune could choose and be inspired by. I even hinted at one being a solid choice for me if I had my way, BUT that was Jaune in canon. This is an entirely different Jaune. However, since this Jaune is still, essentially, Jaune, I would still like to keep the Jaune Arc style, so I'll let him keep the sword and shield and say he was inspired by the fairy tale stories he would read to Ruby, and yes, it is the Rusted Knight. However, I'd also like to borrow from the Joan of Arc inspiration and give Jaune something from her arsenal. I'm thinking a sword and shield/sheath that can be turned into a crossbow! But wait, there's more! Since both Ruby and Yang use theirs for combat AND mobility, I'd like to suggest Jaune has a rappelling line/bolt that he can slide on. Neat, right? Now we just need a name... How about... Juniper Rose, named after his favorite character from his favorite fairy tale.
"But what about his semblance?!" The voice in my head cries, mimicking what I think is what you're asking. Well, since he is heading off to Signal and Beacon with his sisters, it would only make sense to have Jaune unlock his aura and his semblance, but instead of coming up with something wild like Juniper Rose, I'd suggest keeping Aura Amp as his semblance BUT obviously have it unlocked sooner. I'm imagining a scenario during training where Ruby or Yang got really hurt, so he rushes over to help them and uses his semblance to quickly heal them.
But yeah, there's my Jaune Xiao-Long for you.

summer was the leader of team strq but she wasn't The Leader in the same way as ruby was. post-graduation, it's hard to imagine team strq acting as a team; raven and qrow were ozpin's spies flying around the world while summer and taiyang went on whatever missions ozpin sent them on.
they were all taking orders from ozpin. leadership wasn't really a burden summer had, so when the blacksmith speaks of the weight of other's expectations, what may have that looked like for her?
silver eyes are the only thing really that comes to mind, but... would that be fueled by the weight of other's expectations, or by the stories told of them as a power wielded by legendary warriors that even the grimm fear?
we were properly introduced to summer as her reading a bedtime story, a fairy tale. 'red like roses, part ii' mentions them too, from both ruby's and summer's perspective: "this little fairy tale doesn't seem to end well, there's no knight in shining armor who will wake me from the spell" // "this bedtime story ends with misery ever after, the pages are torn and there's no final chapter". even yang prefaces who salem has taken from her with a fairy tale mention: nobody gets a fairy tale ending.
so much of summer is centered around fairy tales as a concept, and it's really starting to make me think that it wasn't just the expectations of other's, but summer herself had built herself this 'persona' of a perfect hero directly lifted from fairy tales that also fed how others viewed her. a self-fulfilling prophecy, in a way.
"i am the reflection of who prevails, i'm what inspired the fairy tale."

Hello! It may be a bit early, but I've been really enjoying the Red Riding Hood story we've been seeing throughout volume 9. Outside we've got Weiss, Yang, and Blake all trying to protect Ruby from the Big Bad Wolf, the Curious Cat. (this works well with the idea you've had of Weiss as her hunter too, if I recall correctly!)
But I'm wondering how you think that Summer might fit into this? Of course we've got the idea that she's the hunter/woodsman as well - she's literally the Huntress that Ruby's been idolizing her whole life. But as I'm seeing it for now, she's also a wolf that's been holding Ruby back emotionally and physically. Ruby can't move on because she stuck in her mother's shadow (perhaps like Red Riding Hood was stuck in the belly of the wolf?) But now Ruby is taking her mother's weapon (an ax) and getting something out of whatever the Tree will provide her with, be that an answer about Summer's fate or something else. Ruby will come out of the wooden cocoon and be a different form of her without the weight of Summer's legacy (at least, that's what I'm thinking so far), perhaps by using the Woodsman/Hunter's ax to get herself out. So perhaps Ruby could be her own hunter too, breaking herself out of the wolf of her mother.
If you have a different thought, I'd love to hear it! Your takes are always so interesting.
Hi!
I quite like your thoughts!
In general, I would say RWBY's allusions are not limited to specific instances, but rather they comment a character arc from beginning to end (in a metaphorical way of course!).
All of this to say, this volume is Ruby's story, so of course it is a version of LRRH. Still, Ruby's arc is not limited to this volume alone, so this isn't the only version of LRRH we are getting.
Again, I would need to reread Ruby's story as a whole to pick on different references, but as for now... I would say the LRRH's allusion comes out rather strongly in volume 6 and volume 9 (2 volumes, which are clearly meant to be foiled):
Volume 6 centers around the figure of the Grandmother (Maria) and the motif of the eyes
Volume 7 centers around the figure of the Wolf (CC) and the theme of the shadow
(Also it is interesting the LRRH allusion always starts with a detour:
Volume 6 - team RWBY + Oscar and Qrow leave the tracks and take a detour both physically and thematically in how they leave Oz's pre-established path. The final episode is even called "Our Way".
Volume 9 - team RWBY + Jaune and Neo leave the yellow brick-road of the Wizard of Oz and fall into Wonderland. They take an even deeper and larger detour as volume 9 is literally its own story and the main plot is paused)
I am pretty sure that if one were to analyze these 2 volumes deeply enough, more references would come out... and if one were to analyze Ruby's arc well enough, one would realize it follows her fairy tale to a T.
All of this to say, I think Summer's role would be multifaceted and complex and fit different characters of the fairy tale in different ways.
In general, I think Summer is the key character of Ruby's arc, which means she is probably gonna play all the different characters of her fairy tale. This is because right now for Ruby Summer is everything.
It is a common path in RWBY really. For example, Blake starts with Adam being all the characters and motifs in her fairy-tale: he was the rose, the beast in Blake's personal life and the beast in Blake's struggle for the Faunus rights. Blake's growth stems from her finding new people who better fit her fairy-tale:
Ruby is the Rose, who inspires her
Weiss is the Beauty for Blake's Faunus Right fight
Yang is the Beauty in Blake's personal life
Ilia and Sun are 2 other beasts, who support Blake's Beauty's journey
Now, I think something similar is gonna happen with Summer. She is so central to Ruby as a person, she has kind of taken over her whole narrative:
She is first and foremost the Mother - the one who points the right path to LRRH and the one LRRH has to leave in order to enter the Woods (to grow up).
Summer leaves Ruby and this kickstarts Ruby's story. This kickstarts Ruby's journey to catch up to her. She follows the path Summer taught her (indirectly). To be a Huntress and to help people. And yet, at one point Ruby will have to take a detour in order to discover who she is.
After wondering in the Woods and meeting many dangers and characters, LRRH arrives to the Grandma's house. Now, the Grandma in the story is just another way to call the Mother, aka a more mature feminine presence. And yet, when LRRH arrives, she discovers the Grandma is not really who she remembers. I think something similar may happen with Ruby and Summer. Ruby will have to face the person behind the ideal. In this sense, Summer will be a Wolf.
Summer is also the Huntress, in how, as you said, she has inspired Ruby to grow into a Huntress herself. I don't know if this means Summer will save Ruby. She may in a final moment of glory, but the point as for now is that Ruby needs to become her own Huntress, rather than a copy of Summer.
Just like Blake, it is possible Ruby will need to find other people, who fit the roles better and she has:
Yang took the place of the Mother
Blake takes the place of the Wolf and showed Ruby a wolf can change, so a lost person can be found again
Weiss will probably show Ruby a child can become a Huntress, which is what Ruby herself needs to do
This also fits with Summer having literally all of the girls' colors:
Tumblr media
This is because she is probably a combination of all of them, an ideal.
On a final note, I see Ruby like this:
LRRH > the ego
The Wolf > Ruby's inner darkness and trauma
The Hunter > Ruby's super-ego aka her purpose
Summer might turn out to be:
The Mother > the ego
The Wolf > the shadow/her inner darkness
The Hunter > the super-ego > Summer's purpose
Ruby's problem is that she was living as a super-ego, so this volume challenges her to face her inner wolf (her shadow), so that she can come out as a more balanced ego.
Summer seems to have been living as the super-ego, as well. Maybe even moreso than Ruby, so I wonder what happened to her when the Wolf took over.
In short, I think Ruby the Huntress might meet Summer the Wolf in the future and they could have a reconciliation only if they meet as their egos: as Mother and Daughter.
That said, we'll see! I am very excited about Summer!
EDIT - I realized I might not have made it clear. But I actually really like your idea fo Summer metaphorically saving Ruby this volume (even if my preference is toward Penny). I was trying to just wide the perspective a little to encapsulate not just this volume, but the story as a whole!

Fuck.
Yeah im currently suffering. Not any wounds, not any insults, not any tragedies, just... God.
Let's talk about red like roses. (All 3 parts)
Oki need to give context. I'm glitch and I have been a... Scarred fan of rwby. I enjoyed the first four Volumes before I kinda feel off after volume 5. At first I was very much in love with it but once I finished Volume 5 I just felt hollow like I didn't want to watch the series so I left it, and I left the fandom before ever being able to interact with it.
And so as explained by my complicated relationship with Rwby I only really got back into the series because of BBtag. And then I looked into it and oh dear God it's a mess.
Apparently it's already volume 9 and apparently the writing is getting better which I find hard to believe still.
Bmblb happened which is just.. wow, took 3 volumes to finish a subplot I had no interest in because let's face it, little me didn't get sexuality because I was in a religious house hold and also because I was never exposed to that media so when first read the word lesbian. I read it as "leash-a-bin". (It sounded Spanish ok.)
Anyway I also found out about the uh... The "allegations" of rt and yeah. And obviously a combination of "i could do it better", spite, and love for rwby all mix together into me deciding to write page 1 of rwby: fate, and that's where I put my foot down and said "I'm writing this, because I need to give this series it's respect".
So now here I am 5 pages deep into Rwby fate and 63 pages deep in my own book. And I'm on my bed just looking for music to listen to and I come across.
Tumblr media
Red
Like
Roses
I listened to it and it just... God it feels so strange listening to a song I barely listen to before and I'm flooded with melancholy and yet nostalgia. This song is still good despite everything and it just hurts to listen and know, this is a song for a series that has done nothing but fail and harm it's fans.
It hurts because this song, captures the idea of ruby. She's still naive no matter how you look at it. She became a huntress to be like her mother and the rest of her family as well as to follow in the footsteps of her favorite fairy tales. Fairy tales, y'know, the fairy tales that inspired the characters.
Red riding hood,
Snow White,
Beauty and the beast,
Goldi(Y)locks, (that one's kind of a stretch I know)
RWBY
And thats not all of it because technically red like roses is only one a third of the whole actual song. Theres still part II in which is just a major tone shift
Tumblr media
🎶I couldn't take it, couldn't stand another minute
Couldn't bear another day without you in it
All of the joy that I had known for all my life
Was stripped away from me the minute that you died
To have you in my life was all I ever wanted
But now without you, I'm a soul forever haunted
Can't help but feel that I had taken you for granted
No way in hell that I can ever comprehend this
I wasn't dreaming when they told me you were gone
I was wide awake and feeling that they had to be wrong
How could you leave me when you swore that you would stay?
Now I'm stuck inside a nightmare every single effing day
It's like a movie but there's not a happy ending
Every scene fades black and there's no pretending
This little fairy tale doesn't seem to end well
There's no knight in shining armor who will wake me from the spell
I know you didn't plan this
You tried to do what's right
But in the middle of this madness
I'm the one (I'm the one) you left to win this fight
Red like roses
Fills my head with dreams and finds me
Always closer to the emptiness and sadness
That has come to take the place of you🎶
Just, holy shit does this feel strange listening to. While the other one is melancholic and quiet, only having four lyrics during the start.
Part II is just a fury of emotions that just hit me HARD. The first was so quiet letting it's music sing for it self and the second one was the flurry of spiraling feelings. The anger, the sorrow, the regret, all spiraling into each other creating a hectic and wild rhythm. And it just absolutely HITS for me. And yet this isn't my favorite part of red like roses.
That goes to-
Tumblr media
(yes I'm using the one for the lyrics fuck you)
Part III is interesting. It's from volume yet this feels like a volume 1 song. The song unlike it's predecessors speaks a new tune, a calm, determined, tone with it not focusing only on the past but also on the now, it's collected itself and it's ready to go forward. To escape the pain and move forward.
This is all just fancy words but I do love each part of red like roses. And it still reminds me of my love for rwby and it just..
It hurts to remember every bit of rwby and the failure it's becoming, we will most likely never see rwby V10 and if we do it'll probably be the final volume.
And I'm divided, I hate rooster teeth and want them to fail but I still want rwby to get an ending. But I've gone over this dilemma.
Right now all I have to say is...
"Fuck, I love rwby."

lmao, ok listen --- i've been following u for a while, right? and i have absolutely no clue what ur saying with rwby because before u, i didn't know it existed,,, so now i'm rly intrigued and i want to try to watch rwby, thoughts??
Oh, it depends what kind of shows you like. If you like anime but with subverted tropes, badass girls kicking ass, and shows that can get a little political, you should definitely check it out. First volume is really short and doesn't have much plot (I consider it an introduction volume), but fight scenes still slap. Second volume, the plot advances more and in third volume shit gets real, and it continues like that for the rest of the show. Animation gets incredibly better as they get more budget, too, and the soundtrack songs are utterly amazing (seriously, even if you don't watch it at the end, make sure to check the songs out. They're just incredibly good). The show also deals with stories of abusive relationships and family members, disabled characters, PTSD, abandonment issues, racism (though this one could have been handled a bit better, at least on my perspective), LGBT characters and more, and most characters are based off fairy tales, legends, mythology or pop culture (example: the main protagonist, Ruby Rose, is based off Little Red Riding Hood, another female character is based off Thor, one of the main villains is Cinderella, etc). It's fun to watch and try to guess which is the inspiration for each character.
You can watch free all the seasons on the Rooster Teeth app. But first, check the Color Trailers on YouTube (first Red, then White, Black and Yellow, one for each of the main four girls) and see if you're interested.
If you do start watching, then welcome to this madness fandom. There's no way out😂

So I'm not sure if its because I'm sleep deprived or working on galaxy brain right now (could possibly be both at this point) but I've always been curious about Cinder's drive for power. What if a young Cinder was saved by someone when she was younger that inspired her to get power? What if Summer Rose was on a mission and saved a little orphan girl from grimm? That would explain her surprise at Beacon Tower when Ruby used her silver eyes and why Cinder is so obsessed with Ruby. Thoughts?
Hello Reader. Well technically,I think the reason why Cinder is obsessed with Ruby is because of how much hereyes and Silver Eye power damaged her from Beacon. Home girl lost both an eyeand an arm thanks to Ruby. I’d like to think that the reason why Cinder was sosurprised by Ruby was because she was a Silver Eyed Warrior and as far asCinder probably believed, there were nomore living Silver Eyed Warriors in existence since technically, Salem had hunted down and killed them all…includingthe last one they encountered: SummerRose.
Ironically enough I shared my own take on Cinder being connectedto Summer Rose. However I had a different outlook. For me, I think my theoryfor Cinder was inspired loosely by Cinderellawith a dash of Sofia the First. The idea I had was that Cinder was originally born and raised in poverty caring for asickly father who was her sole living relative until her father ultimately wonthe heart of the daughter of a Mistrali diplomat and married into royalty.
However much like her fairy-tale counterpart, Cinder was ill-treated by her newstepmother and step sisters and what made things worse for her was that herown father didn’t believe her went she revealed her abuse to him. UltimatelyCinder’s ole man passed away leaving poor Cinder at the mercy of her wickedstep mother who didn’t think twice about casting Cinder back out into the cold.
My theory was that Cinder’s megalomaniac demeanour came as aresult of her prolonged abuse by people who made her feel weak and frightened at what they could potentially do to her shouldshe cross them since at the time, these abusers had the one thing she didn’tpossess---power. Ultimately afterbeing abandoned by her so-called “family”, Cinder was eventually found by Salemwho wooed her in with the promise of gaining the power she desired.
Cinder was to become Salem’s apprentice. But before Salemagreed to train her, she made Cinder undergo a series of torturously rigoroustraining culminating in one final testto prove her worth and just how far Cinder was willing to go to gain the powershe sought.
Mytheory was that Salem’s test to Cinder involved her killing Summer Rose---thelast known Silver Eyed Warrior at the time.
Since my assumption is that Cinder could be in her late 20s(roughly 25-27 years old) currently, my guess was that Cinder was 15 yearsold---no older than Ruby was when she first started Beacon---when Salem senther after Summer Rose.
My original hunch was that Cinder was the one who killed Summer Rose. I liked the idea of Summer being the very first person thatCinder murdered and once she jumped that hurdle---killing a Silver EyedWarrior whose legendary power was feared by even the Grimm---there was nothingelse standing in Cinder’s way of gaining her greatest desires.
I liked the idea of Salem testing Cinder by having her killSummer Rose to prove her worthiness. And once that deed was done, Salem tookthe hungering girl under her wing to groom her and feed into her lust forpower. That was my theory and oddly enough, I’d still like to hold onto it.
I do like your idea though. About Cinder being saved bySummer Rose. Do you know what would actually be interesting? If Cinder was a by-productof Summer Rose in a sense? Like huntsmen are regarded as defenders of Remnantand protectors of the innocent.
Imagineif…back when STRQ would go on missions for Ozpin or as huntsmenin general, there was one mission in particular out in Anima (or wherever Cinderwas born in case she isn’t actually Mistrali) where the group failed to saveall the people.
Imagineif…Cinder was nostranger to fire even before shegained the Fall Maiden magic.
What if…fed upof the abuse by her step-family, Cinder committedarson and sparked a huge fire that ended up burning her original home down whileclaiming the poor unfortunate souls of her former family in the process.
Unfortunately, Cinder’s beloved father was also caught in thehellfire and helpless to actually help him, Cinder begged one of the huntsmenwho came to her rescue---Summer of STRQ---to save her father for her.
However, Summer failed to save Cinder’s father and heperished in the fire. Even with all of her power, Summer---a huntress hadfailed one of the very people she had trained to protect.
Let’ssay…Cinder held a grudge against, not just Summer but all of thehuntsman and this fed into her desire for power herself which further made her aperfect victim for Salem to prey on.
It could’ve been interestingif Cinder---an innocent child Summer hadonce saved ultimately became the budding villainess that Salem groomed to kill her. That could be a pretty cool twist.
Buuuuut then again, these are only ideas.

Doctor: *The Hospital doors burst open as doctors and nurses rush two gurneys carrying very pregnant and in labor Ruby and Yang with their wives beside them.* Prep the delivery room for two!
Yang: GAAARRR! FUCK THIS HURTS MORE THEN I THOUGHT IT WOULD! *Yang Screamed in pain, gripping her wife Blake's hand.*
Blake: I know baby. I know. Just,NRR, Hang in there. *Blake comforted her wife, holding back the groans of pain as she held Yang's hand.*
Weiss: It's okay Ruby. You are doing great. Just-just remember. Deep Breaths Deeeeeep breaths. God, what are the odds that BOTH of you would go into labor at he same time?
Ruby: NNNNNNFFUH! Weiiiiiiiiiss. *Ruby panted, squeaking Weiss's hand as her wife wipes the sweat from her forehead.* The next baby you are the one carrying!
Doctor: Okay we are almost there. Mrs. Schnee Rose. Mrs Belladonna Xiao Long. If you could wait h- *The doctor began to say before being cut off.*
Weiss/Blake: I'M NOT LEAVING MY WIFE'S SIDE! They shouted with threatening glares*
Ruby/Yang: THEY ARE COMING TOO! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH/GRAAAAAAAAAH! *The sisters yelled before they turned into screams.*
Doctor: Y-yes ma'ams. *The terrified doctor muttered as they entered the delivery room.*
~Four and half hours and broken hands later~
Ruby: Oh my god. He is so beautiful. *Ruby smiled as tears of joy streamed down her face as she held Her and Weiss new born son.*
Weiss: *Sniffle* Yes Ruby. Yes he is. *Weiss sniffled happily as she leaned down kissing the top of her wife's head as she looked into the ting pair of silver eyes staring up at her.* You did great Ruby. I love you.
Ruby: I love you too. *Ruby smiled as she kissed Weiss and their son.*
Yang: *Meanwhile, as Yang sobbed her eyes out she couldn't help but smile down at her and Blake's new born daughter.* She is *sniffle* so p-p-purfect, Haha. *Yang laughed as she looked up to her equally as happy with a bandaged hand wife.* Thank you so much Blake. *sniffle.* Thank you.
Blake: *Blake wiped her eyes before kissing her wife as her new daughter, giggling when their daughter's cat ears twitch.* I should be thanking you. You gave me so much even when I didn't deserve it. Thank you. I love you. Both of you.
Yang: I love you both too... Sorry though about your hand.
Blake: She was worth it.
Weiss: Speaking of she. *Weiss spoke trying to collect herself.* What are you going to name my little niece?
Blake: Hehe, We can ask the same about you two and of nephew. *Blake laughed at her sister in-law when they both looked down at Ruby and Yang.*
Yang: *The two sisters looked at each other and both nodded as they looked at their babies.* Actually, gals. I hope you don't mind be me and Ruby already have names picked out.
Weiss: You do? *Weiss raised an eyebrow.*
Ruby: *Ruby and Yang nodded.* Yeah. Actually it's more like a promise we made to someone really special and important to us.
Yang: Someone who, beside our parents, inspired us to be huntresses.
Ruby: Someone who taught us never to give up.
Yang: Someone who reminded us that we are never fighting alone. That our spirit is indomitable.
Ruby: Someone who said the effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death.
Yang: Who said never let anyone tell you that something is impossible.
Ruby: To keep moving forward.
Blake: *At the sisters words Weiss and Blake looked at eachother and nodded in agreement.* Alright then.
Ruby/Yang: *Both Ruby and Yang smiled at Weiss and Blake thanking them both before looking down at their son and daughter.* Welcome to this beautiful world of fairy tales and fantasy... Monty / Oum.
*Rest in Peace Monty. Thank you for all your hard work and for making your dream into a reality that has inspired millions to follow in your foot steps and to follow their own dreams.*

Let Me assign you a Love Language

You have left your house, you have left those people behind, but what are you going to do about the memories which have taken root in you? You can run but not without them. violent devotion
Everyone seems to think you are faithless, but the thing is you haven’t yet found someone who will bring you to your knees and make you raise your head in reverence. This world has stopped bringing you joy, you want more of the divine. You want to dedicate your entire existence to someone; you want to make them realise they are not something terrible, make them see just how much beauty they are bringing to this world. You want to be the only one for them, the only one they have chosen to love. There’s a god shaped pit inside of you and only they can fit in it. And what if they choose to walk away? Didn’t I say this was violent devotion?

I'm glad you're here.
god, it’s been hard. I know it has. it has hurt like hell and some days have felt like you’re pulling yourself through one second after another by your broken fingernails in the dirt. you’re tired. it’s a bone-deep kind of tired that settles in somewhere behind your ribcage and makes breathing feel like dying half the time and it never really seems to go away. but you’re still here. you’re beaten and bruised but you’re still kickin’, trudging one foot in front of the other no matter how heavy those footsteps are. you decided at some point that, goddamn it, if this is rock bottom then things can only get better from here, and you decided to see better for yourself. and so you’ve been clinging onto yourself for dear life and it’s been the hardest thing you’ve ever done but you are one tough motherfucker and you’ve done it. and god, I’m glad you did. I’m so glad you’re here. I know sometimes it feels like no one appreciates how hard it is to just be here, but I do. I know. and it is absolutely amazing how far you’ve come and I’m so grateful you’ve made it. you are so important and your life is so beautiful and it would be such a shame for you to miss it. so keep on pulling forward. I promise it’s worth it.

you are enough.
I see how hard you’re working. I see how your body aches under the weight of it, how you lose sleep and rub the red out of your eyes in the hopes that they can’t tell how desperately you’re clawing at “good enough.” I know how that dirt feels under your nails, that filth of never being what they want. you’re running yourself into nothing trying so hard to be good for them. but you are already good. you are already enough. you have nothing to prove. you are beautiful and what you bring to the world, what you have to show for the space you take up is perfect. it is enough. you are enough. you can rest. you don’t have to try so hard to be more than what you are. you are, and that’s enough. you’re already perfect.

you matter. yes, you specifically.
yes, the universe is infinite and full of things infinitely beyond our comprehension, and yet, here you are. you, in all your infinite complexity and uniqueness. here, now: you. in an infinite universe it is easy to feel insignificant, but you can’t forget that the likelihood that you would exist at all is unintelligibly small, and yet, just as small and just as grand, here you are. you are here because you are meant to be here. your place in the world is uniquely yours and could never be filled by anyone else. the universe made you because it needed you. yes, you specifically. yes, you are just one microscopically small piece in an unfathomably huge infinity, but you are entirely irreplaceable. you are impossible and you are inevitable and you are beautiful and you are so, so important. yes, you specifically.

it’s going to be okay.
I know it’s not right now. I know it hurts and you’re tired and it’s all so much and you don’t know how to handle it and you don’t want to carry it but you don’t know where can you put it down. I know. I’m sorry. it shouldn’t be this way. you don’t deserve that. but it’s going to be okay. I can’t tell you when or how but I promise it will get better. things can only get better. there will be more love and peace than you can imagine. it is going to be okay. you are going to be okay.

I usually default to her dad being Qrow tbh. Unless otherwise decided she refers to my Qrow as dad (and Tai as dad as well since he raised her too)

Hello! I've been reading your posts for quite some time. Now I have been reading about scenarios in which Oscar got kidnapped with or without Ruby by Salem but....what if Ruby got kidnapped by Salem and Oscar has to go out and save her (with backup of course). I'm not suggesting that Ruby should take on the role of the damsel in distress given her development in the show thus far but it's been so common nowadays about these speculations of Oscar being more likely to be kidnapped. Just curious.
Hello Rainbow.Well to be fair, I’m among the folks who’ve been pitchingthe idea of Oscar beingthe one to be taken by Salem alone.
However before duringV5’s runtime, one of the firsttheories for a potential Dark Domain Arc in RWBY that I pitched featured the idea of Oscarand Ruby both becoming prisoners ofSalem, being forced to survive on their own and make the perilous trek acrossthe Grimm infested Dark Lands.
Back then, I figured that Ruby and Oscar would bekidnapped together because between V4 and V5, there were hints of this beingpossible. In V5, we got Lionheart mentioning taking Oscar to Salem and in V4,Ruby was made a target by Salem who sent Tyrian Callows to kidnap her and if itweren’t for Qrow intervening, Tyrian may have succeeded in abducting her.
Despite Tyrian’s failure, it doesn’t excuse the fact thatSalem showed an interest in Ruby and with Tyrian expected to be a part of theupcoming Atlas Arc, it wouldn’t surprise me if he dared to enact his revengeand claim a second chance at whisking Ruby away to Salem. So if Ruby becomes a prisoner of Salem,it wouldn’t surprise me.
However here’s the thing, Ican’t picture the idea of Ruby being kidnapped alone with an entire arc being dedicated to focusing on her friends having tosave her being led by Oscar. And my reason for that is due to her status as ourmain protagonist of RWBY. Ruby is our valiant hero of the story and I can only see theWriters writing her to be that way. I’m not saying Ruby can’t become Salem’sprisoner. I’m just saying I can’t see that story being written in a way whereRuby is the maiden waiting to be saved by her friends. I can only see Rubybeing captured only to escape and then the audient spends the story watchingher struggle to make her way back to reuniting with her friends who are lookingfor her.
That’s how I see it. I also can’t see Ruby being takenalone with Oscar having to find since the narrative so far has painted the bothof them with clear targets on their backs. Oscar especially, given Salem’sreaction to learning that Ozpin is alive and reincarnated as him and the V6finale after-credit moment of her preparing her Winged Beringel Army topossibly go after Ozpin and essentially Oscar.
I can’t see Ruby being taken without Oscar. For me, I canonly see it as Ruby beingkidnapped with Oscar since both smaller, more honest souls have been previously alluded to be targetedby Salem or just Oscar takenalone with Ruby being the only to save him. That’swhat I see being more likely to become canon with my current favourite beingthese two headcanons being the one about Oscar being taken.
I’m sorry if it’s become a common theory but as I alwayssay, my firm reasoning behind why I love the ‘Oscarthe prisoner and Ruby his saviour’ theory isbecause of the strong parallels to the Lost Fable episode from RWBY V6 and the Lost Princessof Oz fairy-tale.
Tumblr media
Oscar draws inspiration from Princess Ozma, as many RWBYtheories had deducted, and in the Oz book series, there is a story titled ‘The Lost Princess of Oz’ which depicts Princess Ozmabeing kidnapped and it is her best friend Dorothy Gale who leads a search partyto rescue her.
Many RWBY theorists believe that Ruby draws inspirationfrom Dorothy Gale apart from her trademark Little Red Riding Hood motif.Personally I was more under the impression that both Ruby and Oscar shared influence from Dorothy but it is Ruby who’ll become the Dorothycharacter in Oscar’s Ozma story.
Dorothy was said to be Princess Ozma’sclosest confidant in the Oz series and this is thetype of relationship that I’m anticipating to see reflected in the Rosegardenbudding friendship. I’m expecting Ruby tobecome Oscar’s best friend and closest companion as well as his future love interest since Oscar also takes influence from the Little Prince whose truelove was a red rose that was his main companion back on his home planet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the Lost Fable, should Oscar becomeSalem’s prisoner then I am of the opinion that she would lock him away inside a lonely tower much similarto how she was imprisoned centuries ago. I adore the parallel of Oscarbecoming like Salem once was---stripped away from his loved ones and lockedaway by a wicked being who condemned him to a life of isolation and loneliness;never knowing if he’d see the outside world ever again or be reunited with thosehe holds dear.
I am behind this theory 100% because I think it would be fittingto have Oscar, as an incarnate of Ozma, become the Boyin the Lonely Tower waiting to be saved by his caped champion. Itis quite the appropriate satire to have Salem, the original girl in the tower detainthe boy who is the very embodiment of the hero who once saved her from hersolitude. Salem the imprisoned becoming the imprisoner to lock away the boy was once the righteous man who freed her in anotherlifetime is such a perfect parallel . At least to me it is.
Tumblr media
In Salem’s story, Ozma was the righteous valiant hero whofought and freed her from her captivity. I can definitely see Ruby becomingOscar’s champion, leading the charge to save him from his imprisonment. There are similarities to Ruby and Ozma just as much as there are similarities to Salem (original) and Oscar. I discussed those similarities better in this Musing post right there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is why I love this theory so much. It connects backto two important tales related to Oscar. I really would love to see that parallelto the Lost Fable because I think it’s the most possible. If not that, then it’sRuby and Oscar against the Dark Domain theory because that headcanon also hasan Oz equivalent. Two actually.
In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was kidnapped by the flyingmonkeys and taken to the Wicked Witch. As I said, Ruby and Oscar both shareinspiration from Dorothy Gale. There is also another Oz book--- ‘Glinda ofOz’ in which Dorothy and Princess Ozma got kidnapped together. This was another nodto the Oz books that helped me justify why I inclined to the theory of would be cool if bothRuby and Oscar got nabbed together since they both technically representDorothy and Princess Ozma.
As a matter of fact, I’d actually love to combine both ofthese theories. Imagine if…Ruby and Oscar are kidnappedtogether and taken to Salem. Oscar is then lockedaway in another solitary part of Salem’s castle while Ruby is held elsewhere---possiblyin some kind of tomb-like dungeon of some sorts where Salem can potentiallyentertain herself by forcing Ruby to combat countless hordes of Grimm withoutthe use of her Crescent Rose or her silver eyes.
Some fans have shared the idea of Ruby losing one of her eyes. While this squigglemeister isn’t too big of a fan of this theory, I’lladmit that I can actually see it happening. I can see Salem damagingRuby’s eyes but not to the point of her going completelyblind.
Since by my assumption, Salem would most likely rather sadistically wishfor the young huntress to see every bit of torment Salem was going to put her through. Instead Ruby’seyes are damaged just enough so that she can’t summon forth her indomitablepower. At least, not without causing herself excruciating pain or failingentirely.
Perhaps Salem damages Ruby’s eyes using dark magicmaking her injuries impossible to be healed even by normal means such as Jaune’ssemblance. I’ve more been a fan of Ruby losing her eyes to dark magic since it an potentially open up a bit where Oscar can master control ofhis own magical powers as means of healing Ruby’s eyes back to their originalstate.  It’s only another headcanon butit’s one that I like.
Anyways, eventually Ruby manages to free herself byoutsmarting Salem’s forces. We then get a story of Ruby finding her way toOscar who she learnt was being kept in a lonely tower. There she reunites withOscar and the two share a tender moment before making their daring escapetogether.
However in spite of their heartfelt reunion, our twoRosebuds aren’t out of the danger yet. Escaping Salem’s castle and the lonelytower was only the first obstacle. The hardest journey would be making it back to civilization to findtheir comrades---granted that they were still alive after the Fall of Atlas.
That actually doesn’t sound too bad. I am down for bothof these theories being combined, if ever possible.
So to reiterate, I can’t see Ruby being kidnapped alone. In my mind, we’re more likely to either see Rubykidnapped with Oscar and the two have to work together to escape Salem.
Or…it’s ascenario where Salem arrivesto kidnap Ruby but Oscar lets Salem take him in Ruby’s place. Or…it’sthe latter where Salem comesto take Oscar and threatens to the lives of everyone in Atlas if Oscar didn’t surrenderhimself over to her. So in the end, Oscar gives himself up toSalem to protect everyone including Ruby who fails to save him and can onlywatch helplessly as Oscar is taken away before her eyes while the entire kingdom of Atlasfalls around her.
Tumblr media
That’s how I’m seeing it. I see the heroes taking their biggest hit and facing their biggestfailure in Atlas Kingdom. Even worse than Vale. Notonly does Atlas Academy fall but the entire kingdom itself. Since Atlas is inthe sky, that is just a giant red flag in my eyes for this entire kingdom to plummetto the ground.
My impression is that Atlaswill fall from the sky at some point during itstrilogy and what I figured could be an interesting way to tie this narrative toa potential standalone Dark Domain Arc is if Salemsimultaneously kidnapped a handful of Atlesian citizens during the Fall ofAtlas to hold them hostage in her domain.
Tumblr media
Like…imagine General Ironwood and the Atlesian military workingdesperately to evacuate every surviving citizen during the Fall of Atlas; boardingthem all on airships to be taken to safety in another neighbouring kingdom(like Mistral or maybe even Vacuo); only to be bombarded by Salem’s forces whotake control of those ships.
Tumblr media
So while some airships managed to evade captivity, Salem stillsucceeded in capturing a good percentage of the populace. Among the safepassengers are, of course, our heroes (minus Oscar) but to their dismay, theyare forced to watch helplessly as Salem took hostage of some of the airshipswith evacuees on board. Among them were some of their friends and even family.
Like perhaps Team FNKI and I have this headcanon thatWeiss’ family---Whitley, her mother, Klein and even Winter were among theevacuees captured by Salem. Y’know to give Weiss an incentive to join Ruby in venturing into Salem’s Domain on a life and death rescue mission to save Oscar.
These days I’m really starting to lean toward the headcanon of Salem capturing Atlesian citizens during the Fall of Atlas to use as leverage to torture Oscar into submitting to her whim during his imprisonment by threatening their lives if he didn’t obey.
By my headcanon, Oscar figured he had saved everyone with his sacrifice when the reality was, he didn’t. I described this theory betterin these two Pinehead headcanons----Oscar’s GrimmBuddy and Oscar’sBetrayal.
So yeah, I think this covers why I’m more in support of the Oscar the Prisoner theory. The Ruby reverse isn’t bad. I just find the version with Oscar more likely to happen because of the strong parallells to Oz and the Lost Fable. Hope this answers your question.

Hello! I just thought about another thing: yellow scarf=golden cap. What I'm saying is that, maybe, Oscar's yellow scarf will be his Semblance. Maybe, when he will use his Semblance, a golden light will appear around him, making him look like a king of sorts, including a golden crown(the golden cap) and a golden scarf. And his Semblance will be called The Wizard of Oz(whose prophecy, from what I remember from the original story, was for him to become ruler of the Land of Oz). What do you think?
HiyaYellow.I’m not sure if you’ve been following my Bouquet of Roses RWBYfanart project but as part of that project, I brought up the idea of the Creatures of Luxx. Basically the idea I hadfor the Luxx were that they would be purified versions ofthe Grimm that Oscar would transform through the use of magic. This wasinspired by a previous theory I shared about Oscar becoming RWBY’s version ofthe Golden Cap, using his magic to somehow relinquish control of the WingedBeringels from Salem. Then I took it a step further with Oscar changing theGrimm Winged Beringel into a Luxx.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ireally love the Oscar’sLuxx theory since it plays into aheadcanon in Oscar’s development that I’d really love to see. I believe Imentioned this before. Remember the Grimm Dragon that was left petrified by Ruby’sSilver Eyes in V3? If Oscar awakensthe power to turn Grimm into Luxx or at least control the Grimm with his light,I think it would be awesome if he gained control of the GrimmDragon---transforming it into a Luxx Dragon and then using his newly transformedbeast to manifest more Luxx for Oscar to control.
Iknow we’re more likely to either see Ruby destroy the Grimm Dragon for good orhave Weiss kill it for it to become one of her many summons. However I’d actuallylike it if Weiss isn’t the one to gain control of the Grimm Dragon. PersonallyI never felt that summoning was a power thatshould’ve been given to Weiss or any of the Schnees. It’s such an overpoweredability, not to mention that there is no fairy-tale explanation to justify whyWeiss has that kind of power.
Atleast with Oscar I can make the debate that he should have the power to controlthe Grimm, just like Salem due to a) he possessesmagic just like Salem and magic is what Salem uses to both create and controlthe Grimm given that it’s the closest thing to the Gods’ power in ModernRemnant. And b) The clear Wizard ofOz allusion the Golden Cap which was the magical artifact used to control theFlying Monkeys that the Winged Beringels are based on. Oscar’s name alludes tothe colour ‘gold’ so it would fit if he becomes the Golden Cap andgains this type of power somehow.
Ilike your idea of having Oscar’s semblance tie into the Golden Cap. That wouldbe brilliant. Making that his unique power could provide a worthy justificationfor this concept.
Theonly thing is that I do feel like should Oscar become the Golden Cap, it would be throughthe use of magic---nothis semblance since its Oz equivalent is tied to magic. Then again, theuniversal fan-favourite theory is that semblances aremeant to resemble magic. Similar to dust, semblances areremnants of magic.
Tumblr media
Somewhatlike a weak replica of magic that is now only unique to the individualhuntsmen, as opposed to magic being something that everyone in First Remnantcould do.
Tobe honest with you Yellow, I’m actually a little stumped now. My currentnumber one theory for Oscar’s semblance still remains to be Nullification. However, as a worthy second choice, I think you might be ontosomething with your concept.
Asmatter of fact, recently I started wondering if Oscar will even have a semblance.Would be even need one? If semblances aremeant to resemble magic given the fact that the second age ofhumanity were born after the Gods’ departure then wouldn’t it make sense if:
Oscar Pine---the one current being who isspiritually connected to both the past and present, be able to use raw magic…as his semblance?
Tumblr media
We all want Oscar to use magic right? That’sone thing us Pineheads can all agree upon, right? So why not just make that hissemblance and be it. Let Oscar’ssemblance be Magic; allowing him to perform incredible featsbeyond the use of dust thus making Oscar not just a powerful wizard/ magician but a powerful huntsmen. Great andpowerful.
I know this sounds so simple that it’s farfetched when I say it out loud but…why not? Technically Oscar is already aWizard. He has the potential to use magic within him. He’s based off of twomagicians. Semblance is a remnant of magic. Instead of given him individualpowers such as nullification or the ability to control the element ofearth or the power to control the Grimm/turn them into Creatures of Luxx orstop time or teleport or whatever, why not give him all those powers and ifanyone questions why Oscar can do all that, simply say it’s magic.
If we thought Weiss was ridiculously OP,imagine how OP Oscar will be if he gained the power to do literally anything he wanted with magic. Imagine if Oscar’s power was magic---the proverbial power of the Gods. And unlike Oz, whose magic was limited and dwindling, Oscar’s would be...infinite since it would be his own power. If that makes a lick of sense.
Rightnow, Oscar has inspiration from the Wizard of Oz (through Ozpin), Princess Ozmaand the Little Prince---all three are technically monarchs in their respectiveworlds. Powerful, revered, influential beings of some kind within their own stories. Not to mention that PrincessOzma, who I believe Oscar was more based on than the Wizard, was the true rulerof Oz and a powerful magician. Imagine if Oscar’spotency for magic turns him into the most powerful magi in ModernRemnant---stronger than both Ozma and even Salem.
Whatdo you think of that? Just having Oscar’s semblance be Magic andcall it that. If Oscar’s true power is magic then it plays into him being theGolden Cap. The Golden Cap was an artifact made of magic. If Oscar is magic personified and that’s his ultimate power then…it fits? Maybe?
