I went to the Military History Museum in Vienna! Which was a great experience, it is refreshingly NOT popular with tourists but it's in the former Arsenal complex (= imperial armoury built by FJ in the wake of the 1848 revolution, as a major project to show his power) which looks gorgeous inside and out. Also, one of its first curators was a special special meow meow guy... 😌😌😌

A curating committee was set up once the weapons museum that had been opened in 1869 (which was threatening to be made redundant by the new Kunsthistorisches museum) began its transformation into the Military Museum in 1885. There were officers in the committee, but also scientific experts. And, you know...

Interesting part from that text: once the curatorial committee began their work under Rudolf's chairmanship, they reordered the collection in chronological order and picked stuff to display according to scientific criteria (vs previously), and it became important to "avoid any decorative effect". Serious Business (tm)

Ankh and Solas - Okay, terrible idea because Solas is absolutely not her type in every single aspect. The only thing that could attract her would be that he's clearly holding back, and she's not capable of minding her own business. But that's like, very surface level.

Mentally wise, she wants to be with someone that knows his best assets but he's willing to share. Solas would give her portions of his knowledge but it's clear that he's being jealous about many things. Mysteries are cool, unless you're a person that has trust issues.

Although in my canon he's the first person she opens up with, she would grow immediately tired of having to guess if she is the problem or there's something else behind his attitude.

Ankh and Varric - Another terrible idea, but in the sense that they'd be an unstoppable force putting Thedas on its knees. Power couple, brain focused. Would take no prisoner.

He's totally her type, height aside (which would be a small issue for both but they could work around it). He's deadly good looking, hilarious, reflective, has strange coping mechanisms, but he's one that doesn't leave when shit hits the fan. And he learns from his mistakes.

The only thing that could set them aside would be that he's in love with a routine, she's more adventurous. They'd fight every Saturday night because she wants to explore some ruins in the middle of nowhere, while he just wants to kick his boots away and relax on the sofa with a blankie.

Also she's hyperactive. Very. Imagine hooking up with a ferret. I think he would be the one to dump her :'D out of desperation.

Hawke and Varric - aren't they a couple already? Hawke knows his man, he's in love with his mannerism and oh, Maker, that voice?? Really?

I think they're super comfortable around each other, not sexually tho. Their intimacy is a beer shared together as they relax silently, head onto shoulder, sharing the same ecosystem. They both have a great balance between quietness and chaos, appreciating both.

In truth they're already together, but not in a traditional sense. They know each other so deeply, they love their flaws, they stick together when everything goes south.
