hi! me again, i know it hasn’t been that long but i just rewatched one of my favorite anime’s, Komi can’t communicate, it’s about a girl named Shoko Komi who has extreme social anxiety or also known as social-phobia and has trouble speaking to others and making friends as well, i’m serious, anytime the girl tries to speak, she gets nervous and overwhelmed and just starts stuttering a LOT!

once he had gotten caught up in the excitement and pure influx of creative juices + had drawn up a prototype for a replicate robot of you — purely intended on doing the things that you couldn't in a way of helping out!! — and barely survived the crossfire that he was immediately subjected to by his siblings. he snapped out of it and locked tf in after that and, after a lengthy lecture from raph, he allowed leo to rip the blueprints to shreds & mikey to burn it. yes, he might've gotten carried away in his inventions, but it's all from a place of care!!!

he buys you snacks and gifts you a cute handmade keychain the next time you come over after that. you're confused but delighted. he sticks just a little closer that day, and you allow it.

i feel he'd see himself in you. as a result, he'd want to provide you with more things and protect you a lot!!! he ain't afraid to speak up on your behalf either. trust me, he's given such poetic lip to some stuck up assholes in the social world that it rendered you genuinely speechless. but they stay as inside jokes between y'all and best believe it makes the others so jealous 🤣😭.

mikey being the most emotionally available of his family certainly comes with its perks!! he helps them navigate their individual friendships with you as well, and even tho there are a few hiccups along the way, you all develop a strong and lovely bond— & a large part in that is owed to mikey and his empathetic prowess.

particularly loves baking for/with you!!! it's always worth it to see your eyes light up, and he really does think you have a cute face. it's been described in a more debonair light by others, but to him, you're the sweetest little baozi and he just wants!!! to wrap you up in a blanket burrito and!!! keep you in his metaphorical pockets forever!!!!!!

he has definitely dedicated murals and different art pieces to you. sometimes you'll be minding your own business, just chilling together, and feel him staring at you. but before you can get self-conscious he always speaks up and sheepishly rubs the back of his head while pointing to the sketchbook in his lap. now, you're used to feeling his warm yet concentrated gaze on you, but your face still hasn't changed in the lobster red it becomes when he shows you the finished product :')) what can he say?? you're a one of a kind muse.

how to make your writing be remembered forever and possibly be well loved.

(incredibly stupid and silly fanfiction line at the end of this post) I know that title is incredibly daunting but listen, its very simple. you ready?

MAKE STRONG CHARACTERS

"but kat! surely its not that simple! " nononono listen. bear with me. I want you to think of your favorite thing. Now ask: what do you remember the most about the thing you love? I will go first:

I love team fortress 2. and guess what: this game has been around since 2007, and was in development hell since before I was even born. The game has been around for 16 fucking years. And guess what? in the strong year of 2023 team fortress 2 Is STILL getting memed about. and do you want to know the crazy part? the character designs to the naked eye are not special at all. ok sure from a designer standpoint, these are very well designed characters made so that you can easily tell who they are based on their silhouette. but from the average joe.... tf2 is iconic but overall it looks ok. it doesn't seem special to a stranger to tf2. look at this completely random and arbitrary example of a game in the same genre:

I don't know shit about the characters in overwatch. Yeah i have a BASIC idea on what their personality is like based on voice lines and some videos i guess... but in-game they just exist. these characters are brightly colored, they have beautiful unique designs, hell they have even more diversity such as robots and people from other cultures! but i don't remember shit about these characters. Maybe I remember the ice lady and tracer, but nothing else. and yeah part of overwatch struggling right now is incompetant development, BUT: The characters in team fortress 2 are SO remember-able because the characters have such a vibrant personality. I am an orange box owner, its been a decade and a half and I am still remembering this game and enjoying art about it.

"but kat! that is a comedy game! Overwatch is a very serious game! are you saying comedy is needed to make a character more noticeable?" no. though I think allowing your characters to lighten up every now and then would humanize them. Not full on goofy, just give them something that makes them likeable. and if you cant do that, you can STILL make a compelling character even though they are mostly seriousness. I have an even more awfully thought out example:

kung fu panda is a masterclass in making a serious comedic movie somehow work. Master Oogway.... he isn't a comedic character at all. Yeah we made memes about him, but ignoring that, he is a wise and resourceful person. He is at calm and has faith in this intuition. there are a lot of characters like this. What makes Oogway stand out is that he is also a little bit kooky and sassy.

this youtube clip sums up what I mean. It is a funny line, it fits the character, and It doesn't ruin the seriousness of the moment. Some of the most successful series in history have something about them that has appealed to people. In my opinion: characters with strong personality and interesting traits is always a good way to ensure your writing is successful. The second most important is the characters bouncing off of each other in terms of their chemistry with each other. There is a reason why I spent years playing the first Destiny game and all of the DLC, but I remember fuck all about the characters. I think I maybe remember the bootleg star lord robot guy.

A writing exercise

here is an exercise to get you in the spirit of character making. step 1- get a random character from a random bit of media. In this case let me bring you master Oogway. Step 2- Get a completely different character from a completely unrelated series. I am going to give you Scout from team fortress 2. step 3- write a random ass thing about them interacting. Think about how the characters would react to each other and why. Think about each characters values in life and think about how they would bond and conflict with each other. Think about characters similar to the character they met in the past and how they reacted then, and if they have never interacted, make something interesting with it. Step 4- keep experimenting. Once you get into the spirit you can apply this to any new character you could want to make anyways thats it byeee- "arent you going to do that ?" do what? "make a writing thing about oogway and scout. " ........

Scout: let's go turtle you got nothing on my speed- Oogway: The one who first resorts to violence shows that he has no more arguments. Scout: that sounds like chicken talk! come on tough guy let me have it- Oogway then proceeds to make scout eat shit before vanishing in a cloud of cherry blossoms and dust from the desert. The Bear Season 2: And Why I’m Fucking Annoyed (Full Spoilers below)

The Bear is something truly special. When it dropped in June of last year it wasn’t a major hit right away. It was a sleeper and it grew its fanbase over time. If you were here this time last year you remember how small the fandom was posts on every platform could barely reach 200 interactions, but with the Golden Globe wins and the word of mouth this fandom began to grow and expand, because season one of the show was just so good.

Season 2 however is an interesting piece of media. I am well aware that I have some bias in this department and I can’t view this season objectively, but neither can the rest of you so I’ll say what I want.

To start off I really enjoyed some of the episodes this season, the first two? Excellent. The Marcus Episode(with my husband Will Poulter at his side)? Fantastic. The Richie Episode? Perfection. And let’s not even talk about Fishes, which was beyond words. I genuinely went into this season wanting to like it and praise it the way I did the previous season because I thought it was good. The writing—which is spectacular in nearly every other place—takes a nosedive with this romance plot. I still do think it’s good, but I can’t act like this whole season hasn’t left a sour taste in my mouth, because it has. Because the show runners are lying racist misogynistic nasty assholes who bullshitted us for nothing.

Toward the end of last year/beginning of this year Chef’s Kiss fans words made their way to some journalist who then asked about the potential for it with the actors and the writer( in an article stupidly named “don’t worry the bear doesn’t want carmy and sydney to kiss, either” the writer of which goes on to ship carmy and marcus so clearly they have excellent taste 😒) who all shut it down. Fine. That’s fine. That’s their opinion and it doesn’t affect us. What bothers me is the words of the co-creator Chris Storer who said this 👇🏾

He went on to say the show was also just meant to be focused on these people doing their jobs. So fine. We said even if it won’t be canon there’s no way they would bring in a new love interest cause that’s not “the vision” they have for the show, right?(He also goes on in the pic above to act like we couldn’t separate our love of the plot of the show from the ship which is…infantilizing and annoying) continuing on though, he also said this

He thought it would be cool to see a show with no romantic plot. Mind you this statement was made in January and the show starting filming in February. So unless they want me to believe they added this romance plot as some last minute thing (which very well could be the case as Claire has quite literally no personality outside of being pushy and being Carmy’s girlfriend) they knew they were having a romance plot in the second season and chose to lie about it. So the actors, the creator, basically everyone who was apart of this project said that Syd and Carmy were a weird ship (a strange thing to say to your, at the time, small audience even if that’s how you felt) just for them to turn around and have Carmy with a new love interest from school and have Sydney and marcus develop feelings for one another in the second to last episode? can y’all be fucking forreal for one minute?

Suddenly all you “yesss let men and women be friends, not every show needs romance” ass bitches want to ship something. I can tell you know Syd and Carmy have chemistry otherwise you wouldn’t have been shaking in your boots hoping the writers wouldn’t get them together. There was some dumb post i saw rooting for Claire and Carm but then adding ‘no one was better than platonic Sydcarmy’…

I see you.

I spoke about this before, but this constant sidelining of black women in these types of shows irks me. Sydney is basically hunting Carmy down for 85% of the season because he can’t do his fucking job he’s so consumed with Claire. And I know people are gonna say i’m being overdramatic, but it’s so clear they just did not want their main white boy to be with a black girl. Something that happens over and over and over again so many fucking times you can just lose count. Carmy, who in season one was so in tune with Sydney’s emotions he quelled his own anger and anxiety to ask if she was ok now ditches her at their restaurant to go help some girl he hasn’t seen since high school. He ditches her to go to a party then has the nerve to bring up Claire’s helping to inspire him.

Like yeah no shit Sydney is sorry that she’s there, y’all are opening a restaurant together which could fuck both your lives if it fails and Carmy is off doing god knows what instead of his job!

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?!? And yeah, Carmy fucks it up at the end with Claire but that doesn’t negate the rest of the season. Chef’s Kiss shippers are strange and delusional and the show doesn’t need romance and then Claire is half naked in Carmy’s apartment? Look Carmy deserves happiness, his life has been basically nonstop stress and trauma since he was a kid and him ending the season thinking he doesn’t deserve fun or love is heartbreaking because it isn’t true, he deserves all the love in the world especially since he is actively trying to break the cycle (along with his sister). That doesn’t negate the fact that he agreed to being partners with Syd and then left her to make decisions on her own about a business they agreed to start together. Which is why he apologized and rightfully so.

And I know for a fact annoying Sydney and Marcus shippers are going to be like “well ackshully they are clearly setting up Sydcus this season so how can they hate black women.” I love Marcus as much as the next person and honestly after I saw where the writing was going I was like fuck it why not at this point, but if Sydney and Carmy’s shippers were living off crumbs Sydney and Marcus shippers were living off the memory of food. But sure that ship had development.

also no i don’t fuck with that syd and marcus ship because why the fuck are you snapping at sydney cause she rejected you and it wasn’t even really a rejection that was very incel core and it’s not about being upset half the kitchen is always screaming about something, it’s why he snapped at her.

I’m just angry so yeah fuck this show.

I’m genuinely contemplating if I want to watch the next season at all. I said if they wanted to go no romance, fine go no romance, but to not only lie about that but bring in some whole new girl we don’t know and throw the black girl to the closest guy despite the fact Sydney and Carmy are more alike than anyone else? You clearly need to do some introspection and think about why you can view Sydney and Carmen as friends but get sick at the thought of them being more.

There is a possibility (a slight possibility) that they are playing the long game we wanted, but i am wary because they lied and put a manic pixie indie girl in as a love interest this time and it sucked. But then I remember the scene with Syd and Carmy under the table and how open and honest they were with each other and even though their relationship wasn’t the best this season I can see it’s potential, because that one scene had more chemistry than all of that other ships other scenes combined. I don’t know.

This got me thinking though Will Poulter romcom when? I will be seated. Also the consensus on twitter is that people really didn’t like Claire and thought the show should have ditched their plot all together so that’s nice. A lot of people seem to think this is a setup for sydcarmy and idk, maybe i’ll rewatch when i’m more calm.

Thank you for pointing out the Dimidue vs Dimilix thing. I get loving angst and why people ship the latter. But what really grinds my gears is the fact that Dimidue has less fanfiction than Dimiclaude. Dimitri and Claude barely even interact together in game. They interact more in Hopes. Meanwhile Dedue and Dimitri are practically inseparable. Their paired ending has Dedue being the royal consort. I can't help but wonder if it's because Claude is lighter skinned and more "conventionally" attractive.

The Edelcrit crowd keeps trying to pain her as racist, but it's hard not to say the pot's calling the kettle when you look at how often they forget about Dedue when discussing Black Eagles vs Blue Lions.

Honestly? I think Dimidue has alot more high quality angst potential than Dimilix in my opinion. It makes me think of the impression a friend of mine had when first playing Azure Moon. During her first playthrough, she speculated that Dedues attitude was some act and it would be revealed that he wanted to get close to Dimitri to get revenge for his people, because he seemed to be just too calm and subservient for what was done to his people by Faerghus, while also keeping a distance from Dimitri during their supports. And I totally get this, I personally also would have initially assumed that Dedue hides more anger than he shows, because why set up the dynamic of him being a survivor of genocide by Dimitris people, if not for some pay off, especially considering Azure Moons themes of revenge and being haunted by the dead? Alas, it didn't came to be because the game instead has Dimitri just play Faerghus police by squashing the Duscur Rebellion without another genocide, instead of turning against the nobles who commit it to begin with, and Dedue is effectively written out of the story in Part 2, due to being an optional re-recruit you can easily miss and so that Dimitri can have his loner boar arc.

Also I'm not really saying that I want Dedue to ultimately turn against Dimitri and become his enemy, but some messy complicated feelings and resentment would have added much needed depth to both the plot and Dedues character. Usually you would expect it to be like Dedue claiming to actually hate Dimitri for what Faerghus people did to his, while having conflicting feelings because over the years he grew to genuinly love and care for him, while it would have been a good growing experience for Dimitri, becoming much more aware of the pain and resentment others feel, similar to his own hatred against Edelgard, and how he as the King ultimately shares his own responsibility for Faerghus bloody history. Sadly the game never challenged Dimitri to this extent and makes his entire character development purely centered around Byleth and Rodrigue, but I think the set up has alot of potential for some introspection and alot of Angst when shipping those two.

But alas it shows the Fandoms strong racial bias against men of color, especially those who present as very masc. Instead they go for your typical two light-skinned Bishonen options for the most part. When it comes to Dimitri and Claude, I have my own problems with the ship. It is for all intends and purposes basically just Dimigard in Yaoi, the ship centers usually purely Dimitris values and validates his feelings and perspective over Claudes, enforcing this very white savior-esque perspective on themes of racism. I would say Hopes even made this much more clear, considering how their interactions are fairly awkward and Claude practically promises Dimitri to turn on him when it comes to taking out the church, something strongly hinted at in AG's ending. Alas, I also think they lack alot of chemistry and I have a problem with how Claude inside Blue Lions routes is always marginalized and turned into either a sidekick or PoC in Distress for Dimitri to act as a white savior towards, with little agency and respect for his own perspectives and ambitions. It is different in the case of Edelgard and Claude, where superficially people claim that he just follows everything Edelgard says, ignoring the larger context of him acting the entire time to push forward his own ambitions and that there differences are much more nuanced, them agreeing in their opposition against the Church and Crests but otherwise having distinct goals.

But back to the topic, I would say, yes, Claude being a more conventionally attractive in anime terms, which means bishonen, and lighter skinned PoC plays strongly into it. Claude being smaller and presented as physically weaker than Dimitri also usually pushes him into the position of the Bottom or Uke in that ship, which is another problem in the way PoC's are often represented, namely that Brown Men are usually only validated when they can be contextualized as emasculated and the more effeminate part of a ship compared to the stronger and more dominent white partner. We see this Dynamic play out in one of the most notorious Edelcrit ships, which also features DimiClaude. It generally reveals a strong racist element inside Fandom by erasing Claudes culturally middle eastern inspired heritage by recontextualizing Almyra as Japanese, a culture that white supremacy often contextualizes as the Model Minority, and presents him as the submissive to Dimitris dominant, while also being used to elavate Dimitris status as a white savior to further glorify him. I think this happening in one of the most popular FE3H Fanfics, that goes into alot of religious apologetics as well and involves strong misogynistic themes both surrounding Byleth and Edelgard, reveals a strong anti-MENAT (an extended acronym to also include turkey) bias inside the community.

As I said, FE3H is a true microcosm of fandom and its typical biases, bigotries and problems, which is thanks to its diverse cast. The top list of AO3 ships also showed so much, it was predominantly white and light-skinned asians and alot of Harry Potter.

Cal Lucia plays Fire Emblem Path of Radiance: Chapter 8

Just two stray thoughts before I get to the actual chapter - one, for as much as I enjoy the game overall thus far, I have to say that music isn't really all that remarkable. The track that plays on certain maps when they are almost cleared is nice, but it's the only song I really enjoy (which is probably not surprising given that it also made it into Smash). The track that plays when Daein generals like Petrine are on screen meanwhile is just. . . silly.

Not to constantly compare the game to the modern FEs, but with Greil in particular, I feel there's def a comparison to be made with Jeralt in Three Houses. To be more precise, I just feel that Greil's death has more weight to it since the first seven chapters (plus prologue) of the game really took their time to not only set him up, but also his connection to the mercenaries, and how they play off of him. Jeralt, by contrast. . . he doesn't really interact that much with anybody, and since Byleth is functionally mute in 3H, the impact of his death solely hinges on the connection the player forms with him. It really works just better in PoR, and not just because Ike isn't mute.

Ouh, case in point! A flashback (that seems to take place in the exact spote where Greil got killed), a CG illustration of Ike and Mist at the tombstone. . . that's the good stuff.

Ahhhhh and Titania putting her own grief aside the moment she notices Ike showing up! Ike apologizing to her and Soren, thanking them for sticking with him!

And exit Shinon and Gatrie. Shinon was just about expected, but I am lowkey surprised that Gatrie left with him. From a gameplay perspective I can understand it, since he also was a pre-promote, but from his writing, he always seemed more onboard with Ike than Shinon did. But then again, given the 🏳️‍🌈 vibes between them. . .

Oh, the way Ike assumes responsibility. . . it definitely reminds me of Chrom taking over as exalt in Awakening. And, given that Ike doesn't have to share the protag status with two other characters, I hope that unlike Awakening, this gets properly resolved and developed

Soren is pretty humble here, huh? That's some of the basis for their chemistry then, I take it

Ahh, finally stuff like the convoy, buying items and supports get introduced. . . really rather late for my liking, but at least it neatly ties into the story here

Why is dustin's primary relationships is with a man who graduated from highschool recently and a man who failed to graduate instead of you know, it being other Party members at his age. Like idk if the writers are realizing this, but it is kinda weird how they pushed dustin to be like this instead of writing him normally with other kids.

i understand bc i also wish dustin would interact with his best friends and party more, but 1) their circles do interlap and they're bonded by the Horrors, supernatural n heartbreak in steve's case and bullying related in eddie's, 2) he went to them in the first place bc he was lonely n left out by his party and they took him, 3) he's good representation for the only children with older friends / friends not in their age group, 4) eddie is still a student just like dustin, not some random drop out drug dealer slash musician or whatever, and they're in a club together, and 5) dustin has an age gap with erica too.

making friends is just like that sometimes, and these relationships have been beneficial for all parties. nothing weird or bad about them. eddie and steve are older, yes, but they're not very mature yet, which makes those friendships make even more sense too.

also, u can't deny the wonderful chemistry gaten has with keery and quinn—ofc the duffers would give him more material with them. dustin got some great development with both of those characters. it made sense why he needed them in his life, and i feel those bonds also really embody the spirit of stranger things in some ways.

at least in s5 we can hope to get the party dynamic back and likely will now that there's a solid older teen group with their own drama, the remaining members of the party will hopefully want to stick together, and eddie's dead lol. we'll just have to see!

Draxum plunks down the bag. "I can't believe you adopted grandsons without telling me first." He yanks a parenting book from the top of the pile (all parenting books) and sits down on the couch, scowling. "This is my time of redemption and you told your human friend before me!"

"April's the aunt, Barry!" Angelo reaches into the bag and pulls out a jar of baby food. He begins to feed Mikey Jr, who gobbles it down ravenously.

"I'm their grandfather!"

"Ehhhh, more like their weird great uncle," Leon says, bouncing Leo Jr on his knee. "You're family for sure, but Angelo's really the only one who thinks of you as a dad."

"However you put it, I'll be helping care for them."

"You? Ha-ha, thanks, but no. Look, we all love you now and everything, but there's no way you're going to be our babysitter."

"I didn't say I was. But according to this book, it's important to have a varied social circle while growing up, so I'll be spending a lot more time here. These... tiny creatures can't possibly be made for battle like you four, so we need to make sure we do everything perfectly."

"Are you calling them delicate? Look at this!" Raphie holds up Raph Jr to Draxum's face. Raph Jr paps a tiny hand onto Draxum's cheek, and then slaps again. "Look at that! Warrior spirit in this little guy!"

"Even more reason to make sure they're physically cared for." Draxum examines the baby. "I should test their blood. If they're some kind of second-generation mutants, we have no idea what their development will be like."

"Ugh, bio-chemistry. At least I don't have to do it." Donald hands over Donnie Jr. "He cut the inside of his cheek just before you came in by chewing on a part he found on the ground, you can get blood an saliva."

"Excellent." Just as Draxum uses a cotton swab to take the sample, April and The Caseys burst into the room! April's mouth hangs open as she takes in the scene. Draxum and Donald holding a baby and taking spit samples, Raphie lifting a baby up and running around the room while the baby laughs, Leon reading a book titled 'The Essential Pun-damentals' to another baby, and Angelo feeding another baby who has carrot baby food all over his little face.

"Wh-where did you get those?!" April looks at Draxum. "Barry, you didn't-"

"You think I'd make four more?" Draxum seals away the cotton swab and crosses his arms. "I love these boys, but specifically these ones. More sounds like a nightmare."

"They aren't nightmares!" Angelo beams at April. "They're angels! Someone just left them in a box outside of Run of the Mill, can you believe it? Who wouldn't want to keep these precious boys?"

At that moment, Raph Jr suddenly stops laughing. He begins to scream, loudly. Raphie startles so badly he drops him-!

But catches him right away, Raph Jr having barely fallen at all. Raphie looks to Splinter, panicked. Splinter walks over to help, and April is left with her jaw dropped. She's never seen Splints actually interact with babies, and somehow she just... never really realized he'd have to know how to take care of them, at least to some degree.

"So they're your sons?" Cass pipes up from next to April, a wide grin just crowding her face. "And that makes April and myself the aunts?"

"Whoa whoa whoa, since when are you our sibling?" Leon says, mouth pinched.

"Since we DEFEATED THE ALMIGHTY SHREDDER TOGETHER!" Cass shouts, not in anger or defiance, but complete gleeful enthusiasm. It makes Mikey Jr laugh and kicks his feet in his little baby chair.

"... Alright, fair enough." Leon slouches back into his seat and grabs the remote, flicking on the projector to a halfway-watched Jupiter Jim movie. The baby in his lap stares at the wall, enraptured. "We're not sure what it makes Case, though."

"I'm not sure either." Casey Jr approaches Donnie Jr cautiously, with wide eyes of awe and fear. The baby scrunches his face at Casey Jr, making the human reel back for a moment, before the baby laughs and reaches out for him. Casey Jr freezes, suddenly panicking just as bad as Raphie was-

"Like this." Donald's battleshell arms work quickly to arrange Casey Jr's arms, and then he plops Donnie Jr into his nephew-brother-friend's hold.

Casey Jr is stiff, staring down at the baby. The baby stares back, and then laughs again and slaps Casey Jr's chin. His heart melts, and he laughs too. "Wow, I... I was one of the last kids born in our group of the rebellion. I-I never thought I'd be a big brother... uncle... person."

"Typical family structures are for the WEAK!" Cass suddenly snatches Leo Jr up and holds him aloft. "What matters is we will raise and train these turtle tots in MIGHTY WARRIORS OF GOOD, and help them with their MATH HOMEWORK WHEN THEY NEED IT! Not what title they use to address us!"

"Your mom's right," Angelo says, smiling peacefully as Leon tries to grab Leo Jr back form Cass. "All that matters is we love them and care for them!"

April sits down next to Donnie and Casey. The baby looks at her with curious eyes, and babbles something in baby talk. She smiles, and gives the baby her hand. He takes it with both of his small ones and just stares at it in wonderment. She giggles.

"Alright, I guess as long as y'all know what you're getting into." She pats Donnie Jr's head. "What're you gonna name them?"

"Mikey Jr!"

"Leo Jr."

"Raph Jr!"

"Donnie Jr, obviously."

The three humans, and Draxum, all frown and share and unsurprised glance.

"No no, it's perfect!" Splints gestures at Mikey Jr. "That one has even made his own Orange Mask!"

Mikey Jr babbles and slaps his little chair shelf, orange baby food smeared all over his face, including across his eyes. Splints gasps.

"WAIT! I still have your old masks from when you are all small!" He sprints out of the room faster than he's sprinted for anything in a while, including his shows when he hears the commercials end. He returns with four faded masks, duller in color than his boy currently wear thanks to age and use.

He ties them to the baby's faces. They all let it happen without screaming or crying, and at the end Mikey Jr starts chewing on the tail of his.

Draxum picks him up and pulls the tails out of his mouth. "He could choke!"

"I've got this." April stands up and, with expert precision, ties Mikey Jr's mask tails into a little bow. "BAM! Cute and safe!"

She does the same for the other three babies, then steps back to admire her work. The babies all sit in a single large bassinet. Mikey Jr grabs onto Raph Jr's bow, giggling and kicking his little feet as Raph Jr tries to squirm away. Donnie Jr is sucking on his hand again (an oral fixation already as clear as Mikey Jr's hyperactivity) as he uses his free one to gently squeeze Leo Jr's bow. Leo Jr sits there, smiling up at April very politely.

"You sure he's a Leo Jr?" April asks with a giggle, waving at the little buy. "He's so... well-mannered."

"Oh-ho, but a-watch this." Leon leans over the bassinet with a smug grin. "This was such a good idea, I'm sure they'll never forget a-bow-t it!"

Leo Jr bursts out into screechy baby laughter, clapping his clumsy little hands together and startling Donnie Jr.

"Wh- how does he even understand that?!" April watches the baby crack up in disbelief. "He doesn't even know what those words mean!"

"Pun-stinct, baby! My son is the smartest!"

— Vegito is a character who, despite how well known he is in the scope of anime & manga, has gotten surprisingly little in canon. He's shown up for a handful of episodes in the entire Dragon Ball franchise, only fighting and not doing much else screentime-wise. Needless to say, how I run him is heavily headcanon-based and canon-divergent for reasons that're shown on his about page. Please keep this in mind, and don't try to police me on how I write him or how I run my blog in general.

— I know enough things about Super (the anime's events at least) to do things in that setting, but I much prefer Z's. Vegito's DBZ-orientated by default, geared towards the cusp end after the Buu saga, unless he's interacting with a DBS-debuted character who operates in that verse. I do have specific DBS AUs of him being permanent going into it from Z, and starting from when Goku & Vegeta fuse to combat Zamasu. Whichever AU is being used varies on a case-by-case basis, but you're welcome to request a specific one.

— 18+ preferred, if only because I'm over 21 and would rather be around other adults than minors. Very crossover & OC friendly! I will not interact with blogs who actively shun OCs. My muse gels best with sci-fi and/or fantasy based characters because of DB's nature. Blogs of other anime-manga series are welcome, but I fell out of my anime craze in early highschool years ago and have remained out of the loop for what's mainstream these days, so please excuse my lack of pre-existing knowledge for your series if it comes up. — So, shipping. I'll be shameless upfront and say that my Vegito already has a significant other canon to him, who is an OC of mine: Amita (I have her over on my DB multi). Despite that, I welcome a multiship system here where I can pair him off with other characters in separate AUs. Chemistry between characters is key, and us developing some chemistry OOC as writers will help stir up some more interest on my end. My Vegito isn't the type to get shallow crushes, especially not for strangers, and he doesn't care much for romance or sex as a whole (outside of using the topics for jokes). If any character wants to get with him, they have to work for it. Just maybe they could grab his attention.

— Fight threads. Good ol' DB and its focus on combat. Sadly, I can't say I'm an expert with them. I can still try them though! So, I'm open to spontaneous conflict since Vegito will probably egg it on anyway. Feel free to hit me up if you're down to plot out your character and Vegito scrapping. Considering how strong he is though, I recommend to not approach a fight thread with the intent to have your character win ***if we haven't plotted***. I'm all for fair, interesting fights, but please respect Vegito's strength. I won't have him lose to someone he in any reality would never lose to. Sorry to any Mr. Satan rpers out there.

— Last points. Uhh I would prefer posts containing gore and body horror to be tagged, because being blind-sided with that content can make my headspace spiral into Badness. I also prefer if smut and sexual content in general gets tagged, because on bad days it can REALLY irritate me to see. If untagged posts bother me enough, I'll DM you a request to start tagging them. Okay, I rarely find myself shipping people in these synastry readings even if they are a ship. But oh my god I am such a huge fan of your relationship with Ricky, I mean I guess there are negative aspects like most functioning relationships. But I am glad to say I truly think the good outweighs the bad in this scenario, and I am honestly so glad that you and Ricky would actually work out. You don't only satisfy each others sexual or materialistic needs, but there is a deep sense of happiness that comes from the two of you having a deep almost spiritual connection.

I am also happy that I can complete this ship and know that Ricky would never directly mistreat you if he can help it, he has found true love ad he will do his best to preserve it. I may be biased but I think you are Ricky's perfect match, he is quite intense in personality and is open with his charm and attitude. But while some would feel discouraged by that you embrace him for everything that he does and he would truly make it known that he appreciates it.

I totally agree with your analysis that Jax loved Tara more.

For me even more than killing Gemma (which was “their way” and “had to be done”) it was the fact that he was WILLING TO GO TO PRISON FOR 25 YEARS without possibility of parol until at least 7-10 years for her. Those guys do whatever they can to not go to prison. At least not for long stretches. He could’ve let her rot and stayed out of it. There was not enough evidence for him to be convicted without turning himself in. The fact that he did that so she could be free speaks insane amount of volumes.

The season 6 finale guts me bc the pain on his face when he realizes how scared she is of him. When she calls him a monster, hoping their kids don’t end up like him. He just looks so defeated.

For her the moment she realized she was completely lost was when she waved the gun at him. I think that moment for Jax he was just so confused as to how they got there. But the moment he realized how lost he was, was when she asked him not to hurt her in front of the kids.

And no matter how many times I watch the scene, I will never not cry when he finds her body. Kissing her while she is lifeless and his hands are shaking. The sobs that pour out of him. The fact that when she died he cried throughout almost all of season 7. When he had sex for the first time after she died, when he is holding Abel, when he asks how Gemma could do this to Tara. Any development he might have had was gone the minute she died. His deeper emotions always went towards loving her and then suddenly he had no outlet.

I love their relationship. Toxic as hell and I would never want it for myself in real life. But that kind of all-consuming “I need you” was beautifully shown. And the way Charlie and Maggie talk about it. How Charlie has said those moments with Tara are his favorite of Jax’s.

I completely agree. Jax showed repeatedly he'd do anything to protect Tara. His love for her was very intense. I also would never want that type of relationship but they did a good job of portraying the intense and toxic dynamic that they had.

I agree that the season 6 finale really was that eye opening moment for Jax. He knew his relationship with Tara was on the rocks but I don't think he realised just how serious it was until that exact moment.

Tara's death is one of the most upsetting scenes I've seen on TV. It's so well acted by Charlie and the music elevates the emotion too.

Jax and Tara's relationships is one of those that doesn't make sense on paper or when you look at it objectively, but they had an unbreakable connection and I think that was very rooted in their history. Some childhood sweetheart's can never and will never love anybody the same as their first love and I think that was the case for them and that aspect of their relationship really helped to sell me on them. That and Maggie and Charlie's chemistry on-screen.

I think the reason Charlie liked Jax's moments with Tara is because they're generally the moments where he's most human. When he's interacting with the club, he has to be a specific version of himself but with Tara and the kids he can be more himself.

Step By Step, ep 1-6

I have caught up on the aired episodes and have compiled some thoughts below the cut. Couples first, then some general show notes.

Sp*ilers ahoy!

Jaab/Jen

Jen kissing Jaab, when he seemingly has a boyfriend: Is this him giving in to pure physical attraction? Mistaking close friendship (influenced by the flattery of that friend pursuing him) for more? Is something wrong in Jen’s relationship with Mon and that’s why he kissed Jaab? (This is my preferred explanation, because I love angst and there is a lot of excellent drama potential there. However, considering they are a side couple, I think they won’t be going the evil!Mon route.)

I do think there is more to Jen’s story. I’ll be very surprised if they’re doing a straightforward cheating storyline with Jaab and Jen.

Apart from that: dang do those two have intimate chemistry. The kiss was intense. And the symbolism of ‘crossing the line’ between the two beds in order to kiss was perfect. (It also explains why the beds were so close to begin with. I’ve never once seen hotel beds placed so closely together, which I found amusing until Jaab made his move.)

Put/Pat

Up until episode 6, I half thought that maybe Put had history with Jeng too. Jeng’s interactions with Put seemed very comfortable and familiar, so it seemed like an actual triangle might be building. But it seems like that’s not the case. Too bad, because it would have been a lot better than a pining/jealous Put. In that vein, I need some ex-lovers to show up for Jeng, because he’s losing to Pat 2:0 so far. (That’s assuming Kong is an ex. Pat’s reaction to his IG posts made me think he was, and if he is it makes what Kong did even worse and might also explain why he went so far.)

I like what they’ve done with Put and Pat’s relationship so far. I like how the reveal of their history developed, and that Put isn’t actually a stalker. He’s just pining and regretful. At this point in the show, I definitely see them dating for awhile until they both realize they are trying to go back to what they had. (And also, Pat is half in love with Jeng.) It would also give Jeng the push to pursue Pat. In fact, I really hope that is the direction the rest of the season takes because I can see how it all shakes out over the next couple episodes and it would be great.

Jeng/Pat

The slowest of slow burns. I think we’ll get one kiss (and maybe an overnight) before one of them decides they can’t date while Jeng is Pat’s boss. The office-related plot (with its emphasis on appropriate workplace behavior) has been too prevalent so far for me to believe that either of them would be okay with a boss/subordinate romantic relationship. Pining/in love, yes. Actually going through with it and still working together as they are, no.

Also, I don’t mind age gaps, but Jeng looks old enough to be the CEO rather than the CEO’s son (even in scenes with his father). It throws me off a bit. He needs to smile more because when he does, he looks much younger. Perhaps that will be part of his continued character growth; learning to loosen up in general.

I am impressed with what they’ve done with Jeng so far. I don’t think I’ve seen an office drama with a character like him working on improving himself in this way. It’s nice to see and I like him more and more every episode.

Chot/Krit

10/10, no notes. Just kidding. I LOVE THEM. Bruce is the reason I started watching this show while it’s still airing and I was not disappointed. Chot is an absolute delight. And I know what Krit said about the words being enough, but I do think Chot would love a little beach ceremony, just saying.

Ae/Kunan, Beam

They are great side characters, but I did not expect a pining best friend. Not thrilled about that. Two love triangles in one show is two too many.

Selections From the TV Journal

Some of the ost music+scene pairings are jarring and odd. Music should either ‘disappear’ into the background or emphasize a significant moment. The viewer shouldn’t be distracted by song choice. Also, some of it sounded like tv commercial music.

I almost quit after episode 2. Too close to home. Also, who doesn’t use templates in PowerPoint? That’s like the first easy shortcut you learn.

Loved the product placement meta joke in episode 3.

I am past being over all of the office gossip happening out in the open where anyone could overhear. I do not like Ying.

Did those two kids really put up a fake out of order sign on the showers so it’d be free for them to fool around?! Hilarious.

I really like Nan. She’s such a good work friend/mentor for Pat.

The BL industry call out was so pointed and well done, even as frustrating as it was to watch in-show. I felt for Pat and Chot in that scene.

I want to know more about Chot and Krit. Why aren’t they the main side couple? I cannot help being suspicious about the little side pairing montage in episode 5. I’m hoping it was just a straightforward ‘catch up’ deal rather than foreshadowing.

Big sighting, yay. Someone give him a lead role.

The IKEA ‘date’ was cute.

I’m glad that I stuck with the show. I’m enjoying it a lot and am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

shadow and bone s2 (ugh)

In a few words: script bad, cast good, I have Opinions and you will hear them (but maybe don’t read this if you genuinely loved this season, I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade)

In more than few words:

the bad:

taking so many books and stuffing them all into eight episodes was decidedly not a good idea. It’s rushed. It also ruins all hopes for a more or less book-accurate Crows storyline that the Helnik part of s1 had me harbouring, because so much of Crooked Kingdom has already been used

it is not enough to reproduce a moment from the books on screen if the context which made that moment powerful in the books is lost. An example would be “Goodbye, Aleksander” - no one knows his name in the books, it’s the final moment of humanity allowed the man behind the villain, but there’s nothing surprising about this address in the show - but there were many such cases

I realize that some levity is needed and the books aren’t completely serious either, but some of the funny ha ha stuff felt so unnecessary... like when that one follower of the Darkling says something like “uh-oh” when she notices a grenade is about to explode next to her. MCU disease

there was something off about Kanej this season. I don’t think he pushed her away that much in the books. This is slipping into the more stereotypical “you’re better off without me!!” territory, which is not really what they were in the books

why the hell is Heleen dead? Inej should be the one to destroy her - it’s her nemesis, the Pekka Rollins to her Kaz, she deserves that

also, why the hell was Dunyasha replaced with some random creepy guy? I don’t even like Dunyasha, but I enjoy the dark twin thing she and Inej had. It felt important

speaking of the characters I don’t even like that still deserved better treatment, all of the Darkling’s scenes were so boring to me this season. Boring ass cliché villain lines... it’s like this was made for TV and they needed some parts when the audience can go to the bathroom

Jesper and Wylan = big cringe :( those slutty bisexuals can never remember who they sleep with, amirite

do NOT like Tolya apparently developing a crush on Inej, he’s as aroace in the books as it can get in a universe where such terms haven’t been invented yet. They better do NOT erase that

the good:

the cast continues to be perfect. They’re taking the mediocre script they’re saddled with and making it better with their skills, chemistry, and charm. I love everyone in this bar

Nikolai! I’m trying to remember why I was unsure about this casting at first and can’t, but in any case, I was wrong - he was very good. Properly charming and annoying, with a touch of the boy king and a touch of the Too-Clever Fox, just the way it should be

the small interactions between the Crows like Jesper hugging Inej or Nina and Kaz having to pretend to be a couple made me happy

Jesper’s poison-induced hallucination might’ve been predictable, but I loved seeing him and his mom together, loved Aditi in general

the BEE!!! Yeah, that was some good foreshadowing

Genya and David were one of the best things about this season, I love them so much

the mixed bag:

I was really glad I saw spoilers about David’s death in advance because otherwise I might’ve punched the screen, but then I watched the last two episodes and... no one warned me the body wasn’t found? Come on, it’s fantasy, if the body wasn’t found, it usually means something. A Twitter mutual of mine suggested the Darkling might come back in David’s body, which I would not like to happen, but otherwise I am pretty excited about the possibility of some kind of Came Back Wrong (or - dare I hope - even a happy ending?..). Of course, he dies at a later point in the books, but the showrunners have admitted that what they’re making is essentially fanfiction, and saving the character expected to die is a very fanfiction thing to do. The problem is, their fic hasn’t been particularly good so far. Still, I am very curious about how this is gonna turn out

I am one of the few people who think TGT had a good and appropriate ending, but show!Alina is different enough from book!Alina for me to believe the changed ending works well. Show!Alina has definitely suffered, but she’s still seen less death and pain than book!Alina (no execution of Ana Kuya; no death of Botkin either, as far as I recall; no Harshaw; no Fedyor dying; Marie’s death is less brutal and doesn’t happen in front of her eyes, etc.), she didn’t spend as much time underground, she wasn’t as manipulated by the Apparat in addition to the Darkling. She’s also much more ambitious and eager to be a leader. It makes sense for book!Alina to want a quiet life where no one would bother her anymore, but it also makes sense for show!Alina to take an active part in reforming Ravka. And it also makes sense for Mal to want to find out to what extent his feelings for Alina were real and what was just amplifier stuff, to find his own path now that there is no predestination for him. I do believe Malina will be endgame in the show as well, because the showrunners are planning to adapt the Nikolai duology too, which means Zoyalai and Zoya as the queen, but I have no idea how it all is going to happen

it looks like we’re going to see dark!Alina, which could be interesting! Alas, I don’t trust the writers of this show to make a good job of it

Do you ghave favourite Frontier episodes? If yes would you put them in an order from best to least favourite in the favourites?

Hi, Anon💕. Thank you for the ask! I feel like this will be a bit hard because some weeks ago I tried putting some episodes I like in an order of preference and I failed.

A little premise: what is the Frontier I adore like? Except when it comes to episodes where Junpei and Izumi get spotlight, -obviously I ADORE them-, the “Good Frontier” I really love is the one where everyone interacts with everyone, the chemistries are balanced and well-defined, the kids collaborate and learn how to work in a team.

Regrettably, -block me-, I feel like the group in Frontier worked well when it was made of five people. PERSONALLY, PERSONALLY ,I REPEAT, I don’t feel like Kouichi fits among them. What is his role? What kind of interactions has he built with the others, excluding with Kouji? Sometimes I also used to feel like the team that works so well in Frontier is the one made up by the first four kids. Kouji often felt out of place, especially whenever I watched episodes where Tomoki, Izumi and Junpei supported Takuya. Yet, I grew to like Kouji’s development a bit, just a bit. AGAIN, JUST AN OPINION OF MINE: he’s just not my favourite among the kids.

So first episode I’m really attached to:

1. The Tsunomon episode: Everyone hates it, I’m the only one probably loving it so much. It has got so many flaws, especially in how it deals with Izumi’s backstory, but I can’t help it: I love it with all my heart. The main theme is loneliness and isolation. Even if I would have loved seeing them acknowledging how lonely Junpei is too, just like Izumi, I adore they picked them to build trust on each other in a similar episode. It’s especially so nice to notice the development in their relationship while comparing this episode with the Floramon one: now that Junpei has found his spirit, he can be the goofball he’s supposed to be. Their partnership is just too enjoyable for me to resist, okay?

(• Still in the first place because I’m sorry but——- : The Revival of the Ancient Digimon. Even if it’s not an episode, I need to place this here since I rewatched it the day before yesterday and I was so enthusiastic about it. Frontier’s movie is always a nice place to return to, owning what the anime ride should have always had, without losing its direction. In the movie everyone has got a role, the interactions are vividly represented from Kouji’s and Takuya’s silly rivalry to Izumi being a big sister to them; from Junpei, Tomoki and Takuya being the biggest dorks out there (I LOVE THEM), to Junpei, Izumi and Tomoki confirming themselves to be a team with great dynamics; from Takuya and Junpei SURPRISINGLY agreeing on something for once to Junpei and Izumi carrying the finale of the movie together. Flawless movie. The Frontier of my dreams.)

•2. The Village of the Beginnings: The only episode from the last disastrous arc I hold dear to my heart. The plot was endearing, the main theme can also slightly move me: the concept of hope being put in such innocent beings and eggs that still have to hatch is pretty emotional. Izumi also gets to be useful for once in her life, which is so appreciated🤣💕. The only flaw of the episode is obviously the Kouji/Takuya centrism, but in this case it’s less annoying. There’s actually that nice scene with the 10 spirits collaborating with the accompaniment of “An endless Tale” in the background. Pure poetry.

•3. Izumi’s Beast spirit episode: Yajima got to animate my favourite episodes, like you can notice. Somehow their episodes are exceptionally hilarious and everyone just looks adorable🤣. After an embarassing episode about fanservice I wish it had never been produced, here are we with some justice for Izumi. Ignoring the fact her beast evolution can’t be really considered as such, this episode is a gem in her badly-written arc. The team gets to support her and she realizes how precious everyone around her is💕!

•4. The Black Blitzmon episode: Maybe one of the cruelest episodes in the whole series, in my opinion. Despite having so many flaws in its writing and portraying such ashaming scenes of sexualization for Izumi, I like the way they have built up Junpei’s issues during the whole series up to this episode. It makes me feel so sad to see Junpei pretending to have a nice life, whereas he’s a wreck inside. It’s also…A bit relatable when it comes to my life, but I’m not going to go deeper ahaha.

•5. Bolgmon episode: It would have been much higher if it had featured Izumi doing something. I don’t know, SOMETHING. The philosophy of the hopeless woman being protected by the man does not drive me crazy, especially when the writers of this girl fill their mouth with dialogues about women power. Nevertheless, it’s the apotheosis of Junzumi, it’s the moment my son gets to show his worth and his growth. And of course…The ending scene always gets me near to tears because the vibes were so similar to the Takajuri/ Jurato ones.

•6. Junpei’s and Tomoki’s Grand Adventure: Listen, I love these two. I love Digimon’s personal Mario and Toad having such a heartwarming relationship starting their journey from being the most ambiguous characters of the series. Junpei has got such nice quotes here and I remember I had already fallen so hard for him here. He already shows to be so warped and very grey in his personality. The oldest member convincing the youngest one escaping, because he would feel like an embarassing coward leaving that world all alone. Junpei! Junpei himself who had seen an opportunity to play the main hero for once in his life by pressing YES on his phone. It’s a very interesting episode, surprisingly deeper than what it may look on the surface.

• 7. Izumi defeats Ranamon episode: I realize it has got a very warped picture of what a woman has to be like, but I also realize that’s the kind of culture and view Japan had at that time (and probably nowadays too). However, I’ve grown to like this episode after having watched it twice. It’s a lovely filler that culminates the path of Izumi’s struggles with others. I also acknowledge it probably should be lower, much lower, but the atmosphere makes me feel very affectionate to it, and there are some cute scenes featuring Junpei and Tomoki supporting her. I love those.

• 8. Takuya VS Mercurymon episode: Like you have understood, I’m such a big fan for the main quartet. Maybe I would have appreciated the series more if they had had more time to shine together. I like seeing Izumi, Junpei and Tomoki trying their best to rescue Takuya. Still, this episode also marks the end of the Frontier I enjoy, so it might be very emotional but at the same time it leaves me with a bittersweet taste in my mouth.

• 9. Blitzmon’s introduction: There’s a first part that is so boring I would tear my hair, but when the second half comes this episode takes off. There’s a very entertaining fight between Junpei and Takuya leading Junpei to having to face his sadness. It has got such a weird writing someday I would like to discuss about, also sharing some thoughts of a dear tw friend’s here, but I strongly believe it was an excellent way to conclude Junpei’s first character arc. I appreciate them dealing with his lack of self-esteem and eventually giving him the best spirit entrance of them all. Have you seen him falling off the crane, -another ⚡️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ main character of this episode-, being rescued by the Kokuwamons and landing on the ground like some king🤣? Speaking of the Kokuwamon, Junpei and the bby bonding melt my heart.

• 10: Grottomon appears for the first time episode: This is the first time Kouji collaborates with the gang and starts opening up a bit. The animation is commendable with that incredible ride to the mountain, the vertiginous frames, but I also have to say the world building is one of the best here. The setting is breathtaking, very Miyazakish, but the plot doesn’t really stand out that much when it comes to me comparing it with the other episodes I’ve mentioned. I don’t know why. I just can’t fit this higher despite the fun it made me experience ahaha.

I know, it’s a very long post, Anon, and I’m so sorry but I hope you are satisfied by my reply! I know my tastes are weird, don’t worry🤣💕💕. There are also three other ones I like, though: the Tomoki nightmare one and the two episodes about the trio of losers (The Trailmon episode and, before that, the hamburger one).

The last episode, still animated from Yajima, has got its flaws but I love it with my whole heart. It’s kinda useless to mention it because I believe it’s in every Frontier fan’s heart.

Backstory - Spacer.

Best Friend(s) - She could never choose between her children.

Harper is the daughter of Hannah Shepard and Viola Hackett (Admiral Hackett’s daughter), and so lived much of her life on spaceships. Due to her mothers’ different stations she often had to choose between them, not seeing the other for several months or sometimes weeks. These long and frequent separations eventually cause her mothers’ to drift apart. They eventually peacefully divorced when Harper was 17 and had moved in with her grandparents for a year to finish her education on earth. She still has a good relationship to both her mothers and her still living grandfather, though of course chain of command can make it a bit awkward at times.

Her hobby is music in general and the harp and violin in specific. She’d always been drawn to intruments plays quite a few of them at least on a basic level but eventually settled on, much to her mothers’ amusement, the harp and later the violin. She briefly considered a career as a stage musician but quickly decided to follow her family’s footsteps.

Harper is naturally somewhat melancholic, not helped by trauma that just keeps piling up for her. She is calm, collected and a natural leader and diplomat though she is perfectly capable of agression if she thinks it appropriate. This is paticularily relevant when interacting with krogans, since krogan diplomacy does often involve some degree of violence. She has certainly headbutted a few of them. Due to both her personality and what happened on Elysium she finds it difficult to surrender responsibility to someone else, preferring instead to be personally involved in pretty much everything, for better or worse. She is compassionate and friendly but does expect a degree a of discipline from her crew. That said, she is not above jokes, and eventually got a water spritz bottle specifically for the purpose of using it on Garrus when he said or did something she considered stupid (like suggesting killing hostages, we do not do that here, Garrus). She called it a pedagogical tool. Overtime it became and in joke with Garrus and the whole crew, and Garrus would repeated try and fail to steal the bottle from her. She values her crewmates deeply, makes it a point to have a friendly relationship with all of them, often becoming much more than just a superior to them (or employee in some cases).

She developed a relationship with Liara during the first game. She doesn’t tend to look very far into the future, always very acutely aware of her own mortality sometimes to an obsessive degree, but had life proceeded somewhat normally and had Liara eventually asked to settle down she wouldn’t have said no. When she met Liara again after dying and being revived by Cerberus she was initially overjoyed but soon noticed that Liara was simply emotionally unavailable at that point. It hurt her quite a bit, but at that point she had already started to process that it had been two years for everyone else and she couldn’t really blame her. Assuming that Liara had started a relationship with Feron in the meantime, she vowed to help her save her new boyfriend and move on from their prior relationship.

Now, Tali had developed a bit of a hero crush on Harper during the first game, which she very slowly painfully overcame when she grieved her over the two years prior. Nonetheless, the chemistry remained and though Tali once again found herself drawn to Harper, albeit in a more mature and less heroworshipping way. The two grew closer over the course of the Collector mission and eventually got into a relationship, which lasts even past the war with the reapers. (@yanara126 has quite a few headcanons for what they do after the games, but that is a behemoth for another post).

QUICK FACT SHEET ABOUT DALLAS; - he grew up in an abusive home. his neglect began from the day he was born and carried on into his youth. - he was the son of a well renowned pastor luke mcmeen who prided himself on the perfect family image. he kept his abuse of dallas under wraps for years and even to date several of his patrons do not know what he did to him. - dallas' mother was compliant in all this abuse because she feared being left by luke; she eventually began to believe luke's insistence that dallas was horrible and an abomination they were forced to trial by gods hand. - dallas despite being highly intelligent did poorly in school because any attention be it positive or negative was viewed in bad lighting by luke and lead to more abuse. - at first he was nothing more than an onlooker to these things, but soon he realized that his actions in this liminal space caused ripples that changed the out come of his nightmares turning them for the better or worse.
