THE SORROW

���� Tags: Angst, AU, OOC (aka, Out Of Character) maybe?, spoilers?? (TW: I HAVEN'T DECIDED ON THE END YET, SO EVERYTHING OR SOMETHING MAY CHANGE LATER!!!)

𐙚 fandom: Frev (The French Revolution)

𐙚 Featuring/Dramatis personae: Maximilien Robespierre, Saint-Just, Alexandre (Aka Alexander), Danton, Camille Desmoulins, Marat, Charlie Robespierre (Yeah, I gave them surname, because they are part of the Robespierre family.), Bouffon.

𐙚 Part: 1/? ᡣ𐭩

Bouffon: "You will give me this human child, and I promise that I will free everyone from 'puppet control' and turn back into humans, deal?"

Bouffon said with a strange half-smile on his mask, though their face didn't change because it was just a mask.

Charlie looked at their father, Robespierre, squeezed his hand. Charlie knew that if they sacrificed only one thing, only them, everything would be fine, the people would be free. Charlie was ready, although Robespierre did not want it, to exchange his child for a monster jester (literally, a monster).

Robespierre: "No.."

Robespierre whispered quietly, so quietly that almost no one heard it, Bouffon only tilted his head to one side, leaning closer, when two white pupils appeared in his eyes.

Bouffon: "Hehe... I didn't hear you, what did you say, Rob-rob?"

Suddenly Saint-just intervened, standing in front of Charlie, holding out his hand as if to protect them.

Saint-Just: "He said, NO!"

Camille carefully placed his hand on Saint-Just's shoulder, leaning down and whispering in his ear.

Camille: "Antoine... Please don't interfere, you don't know what this jester is capable of......! You've seen they turn everyone, including me and you, into dolls..."

Saint-Just furrowed his brows as he looked in Bouffon's direction. Meanwhile, Alexandre (aka Alexander) was holding his gun on the ready, if this jester even dared to attack them, he knew that this fool was simply unpredictable and anything could be expected from him.

Saint-Just: "Are you saying it's better to give the poor child to this monster?"

Camille: "N-no! I didn't mean that, I meant that he's very powerful and he wouldn't have had a hard time just turning us into dolls..!"

Marat only rolled his eyes and carefully brought his finger to his lips, before he grabbed both of their arms.

Marat: "Shhh! Let's just watch and listen for now, and only then understand what will we do next...."

Meanwhile, Bouffon was looking at Charlie happily, almost childishly, now hiding behind their father's back. Danton cleared his throat slightly before asking.

Danton: "Maybe there is another way out? You know, we could give you all our wine, because why do you need a child?"

Bouffon: "Oh... Ehehehe... And why do you know, pig's head? I'm not talking to you...~"

The Jester casually but not strongly pushed Danton away, coming closer to Robespierre. It seems that he did not care about Danton very much.

Bouffon: "Oh, hehe, well how? Are you giving me your child, Rob-rob?"

Robespierre was silent for a few minutes, before answering, leaving no arguments in the room.

Robespierre: "I won't give up my child, period!"

Bouffon just giggled with his creepy giggles, Alexandre knew that something bad was about to happen.... The ground began to shake and crack strangely. Suddenly, Bouffon took off into the air, without wings, he.. Levitated above the ground!?

Bouffon: "Then let it be your way, but I'll pick up my little human friend anyway!"

Suddenly, blue strings formed around Charlie's limbs, which tried to drag his precious child to this fool, Robespierre grabbed his child so tightly that he was afraid he would tear off their hand, although this did not frighten him as much as the fact that his child would fall to the fool. Other revolutionaries helped Robespierre take Charlie to their side, even if it was useless. Alexandre wanted to get a gun and shoot this idiot-monster, but the dolls attacked him, he couldn't shoot them because they were still French citizens just under 'Puppet control', while he was fighting with the dolls trying not to really hurt them but to stop.

Danton: "Ugh, Charlie don't worry! We'll save you!"

Marat : "Shut up and help, you're the biggest of us!"

Danton: "And what do you think I'm doing!?"

Charlie sadly looked at their father, they could see the desperation, the paternal love...

Charlie: "Father... Tell Bonbon and Charlotte that I'm all right..."

With a sudden movement, they let go of their father's hand, and Robespierre and the others fell to the floor.

Robespierre: "Charlie, no—!"

Alexandre (Aka Alexander): "Wait, Charlie...! Argh, you will pay for it, you stupid, foolish basta—"

Finally getting out of the dolls, he watched as Bouffon held his prize, as if the child was given a gift, but Bouffon just snapped his finger and a strange blue portal formed that began to suck them in like a black hole, though at least he would just return them to their proper place, not a devourer like a black hole.

Saint-Just: "Woah-Woah! Hold on—!"

Grabbing each other, they tried to stay, but unfortunately, when they got into the portal, it led them to the Committee of Public Safety. The doors were flung open and they fell on the cold, dirty, wet streets, even in bad weather, in the rain. Everyone fell right on the mud, now dirty, But Maxime ran to the door, pulled the handle, began to slowly open and close the door, hoping that the portal would appear, but he were greeted only by the dim entrance of the Committee of Public Safety.

Robespierre: "No-no-no-no... This cannot be..."

He began to tremble, he literally saw how his child was grabbed by this monster. He was in a biggest panic in his entire life, it seemed that he was about to catch a panic attack and just faint, he fell on the cold stone floor, hoping it's just a bad dream. He's holding back tears, clutching his head, his wig was slightly beveled to the side, his glasses were a little broken from the fall...

They lost everything. they lost almost the entire nation of France, friends, family, and now a child! They lost Paris—no, they lost almost the entire France...
