DISCLAIMER: This story is set in the universe of Obey Me, a mobile otome game. Specifically, the Realm of Demons known as the Devildom (or Hell for simplicity). The only character in this story that is NOT from that game is Kai, who is taking the place of MC, or the Main Character . 

Notes: This is the creative writing assignment I got an A+ on lmao. The prompt was literally just 'Halloween Story' but I couldn't think of anything- Then I remembered Diavolo's birthday and how I personally think he's unfair as a suitor.

It all started on October 31st, a date Kai would never forget. Up in the Human Realm, it was just known as Halloween. A time to dress up and have fun with friends. But down here in the Devildom, it was Lord Diavolo’s birthday. A special occasion, considering that Lord Diavolo is the Crowned Prince and Future King. But to Kai, he was simply Diavolo, a man they had to pretend to like. But they weren’t dense. Kai could see the way the Demon Prince behaved in their presence, they knew how he felt about them. 

However, there was another. Lucifer, the Avatar of Pride and Eldest of the Seven Demon Brothers. Also known as Diavolo’s loyal right-hand man. Over the course of the earlier Exchange Program between the three realms, Kai had come to be close to all Seven Demon Brothers due to living in the House of Lamentation. The ‘dorms’ where all RAD Student Council members lived. But they felt a particularly strong attraction and connection with Lucifer. A part of them felt bad, knowing that one day they’d have to reject all of them and Diavolo in favor of Lucifer. But the other part felt no pity, believing that they should’ve acknowledged their lack of reciprocation sooner. 

Little did they know just how difficult it would turn out to be. October 31st, Diavolo chose to hold an extravagant birthday party at the Demon Lord’s Castle and invited many people. Including the members of the House of Lamentation. As the date approached, a sense of dread and unease filled the pit in Kai’s stomach.  They couldn’t understand why, it was just a birthday party. Why would they have to feel so nervous? But eventually, they found out at the party.. 

The party started off as normal, until Barbatos requested to speak with them alone. Barbatos was an unusual demon, he had a kind and delicate look to him, yet he was possibly the most powerful demon in all of the Devildom due to his abilities that affected both past and future. And he just so happened to serve as Diavolo’s loyal and impeccable butler. The reason Kai found Barbatos requesting to speak to them was because the butler rarely ever spoke to them. And he had made his opinion of them quite clear. Openly stating that he personally couldn’t see what the others saw in Kai. 

But what was most unusual, was the message that Barbatos had for Kai. “Lord Diavolo is going to have a special speech tonight,” he explained, “so don’t say anything that may hurt or upset him, understood?” Barbatos said. Despite the smile on his lips, there wasn’t an ounce of kindness in those typically gentle eyes. Without waiting for a response, Barbatos walked away, possibly to go attend to Diavolo or serve guests, leaving Kai alone in their confusion. What could he mean by that? 

Soon, the time for the speech came, though. Everyone gathered around Diavolo as they waited. But Kai noticed the look of confusion on Lucifer’s face. Did he not know about this speech? Was it a spur of the moment thing that Diavolo only kept between himself and Barbatos? Or had Barbatos foreseen it using his abilities? Whatever it was, Kai still found it strange. That familiar uneasy feeling began to settle once more when Diavolo started speaking. 

He went on about the usual things, thanking people for attending, making a joke about not remembering his own age, mentioning how he enjoyed sharing his birthday for other important events, until– Kai noticed his gaze had fallen on them. 

“Kai, I have something I’d like to confess,” he began. Murmurs erupted in hushed whispers from the crowd, what could Lord Diavolo want with the human of all people? “Ever since the exchange program, you’ve become an important part of the Devildom. And especially in the lives of some gathered here today.” Kai noticed the bashful looks on some of the faces of the brothers, as well as the warm smiles the guys from Purgatory Hall wore. “However, out of all those here, I’d say you’ve also become an important part of my life.” Kai stared in confusion, he wasn’t saying what they thought he was saying.. ..right? 

Diavolo took a deep breath before he continued, “I have come to develop deep feelings for you, Kai. And.. I’d like to know if you feel the same way.” The Demon Prince stared at Kai, patiently awaiting their answer. But Kai could only stare back in shock, unsure of how to respond. They wanted to reject him, they didn’t want to lie to him. But he was the future King of Demons! How can anyone just flat out say ‘no,’ especially at such a large social event such as this? But then, they remembered Barbatos’ words, and the dread settled deeper. 

Kai stared up at Diavolo, regaining their confidence and taking a deep breath. “I..”

datable biology stuff!

Continuing the biology headcannon stuff so ya.

I’ll start off with the royals! First is Diavolo!

Diavolo is one of the strongest demons in the devildom. So obviously he has quite a bit to him.

Diavolo has 4 hearts, 2 for magic, 2 for regular blood pumping.

He has multiple extra muscles in his arms and legs.

He also has a second stomach.

He even has an extra organ that mixes chemicals and produces a flame, to make his fire breath.

He has a second set of lungs that allow him to bellow loud enough for over half the devildom to hear him.

Diavolo’s demon form is touch, even with his skin exposed no Man made weapon can pierce it.

His wings can effortlessly lift himself and a couple tons off of the ground and through the air.

His fastest speed flying is 500 miles per hour.

Even with so much strength he is VERY aware of how much power and danger he carries. So he is able to use some of his own magic to make sure he is safe to be around.

Diavolo also has a high metabolism and can give beel a run for his money in an eating competition.

With Diavolo’s demon form resembling a dragon and him being more draconian, he does have a dragon form and a huge hoard to hide away the most prized and cursed objects that catch his fancy.

The only other person who has seen the hoard and lived is Barbatos, any others are eaten since Diavolo guards it heavily and can since when what is his is touched when he is not nearby.

Next is Barbatos!

This loyal but mysterious butler is one of the most powerful demons, with his ability to travel through time and see the future.

He doesn’t look strong but he can take down an army with his strength alone.

He has extra muscle structures and is able to lift over 1 ton.

He is as fast as mammon.

He has 3 hearts, 2 for magic and 1 for blood,

His magical prowess is impeccable and unbeatable.

He can see when something will go wrong and can fix it before it even happens!

He can only travel through time with diavolos permission due to a magical contract he signed when pledging his allegiance.

Barbatos’s tail is like an extra limb and can lift 1 ton as well.

Even if his tail is wet it can still grip things well, very little slips on his tail unless he wants it to slip.

His teal colors glow when he uses his powers or any spells, and he can make them glow in the dark when he wants them too.

His horns can act as an extra set of hands.

Even through they are skeletal they can bend and move and feel just like a hand would.

If he is really busy he will use his tail and horns to carry items or even use them to multi task.

Surprisingly he has one brain but his brain has 3 sections to it, one acts as a left brain, one acts as a right, and one acts to control his magic and his abilities to know the past and future.

He has extreme practice in almost anything and can pick up expertises after 2-3 sessions of learning something new.

He has a picture perfect memory and can recall everything he has ever known in vivid detail.

He actually has to use a sleep spell on himself in order to sleep due to his constant work and horrible insomnia that is caused by his powers keeping him up all night with every scenario and situation that could happen that very moment.

Next is the angels!

Some general headcanons for them first.

Also the reason that demons and angels can get drunk off of demonus and not humans is because it is a magic affecting alcohol.

Both demons and angels have 2 hearts and are comprised, by some percentage, of magic.

So the demonus affects the natural magic that comprises the magical creatures that drink it. Causing them to get drunk but is ineffective to humans since we are made of flesh and blood only.

Anyway angels can sense strong feelings from demons and people around them.

They also have the natural ability to be comforting and helpful to any human who might require any help.

Different angels have different sets of power and wings.

Simeon has 2 large wings that are twice as long as his arm length,

He is smart, smarter than he looks with writing and words,

He uses some of his natural magic to remember any words and their meanings, so he looses that ability when he is drunk.

He is about as strong as Asmo power wise and can lift a significant amount but not as much as beel or the others.

Simeons wings are hidden with a heavy magic as to not hurt anyone or blind any demons.

To most demons, angels look like they’re are covered in LED’s so many of the lesser demons can’t look directly at them. But higher up demons are less affected.

Also if necessary simeons long and large wings can slice through a demon of be used as an untouchable shield against their darker magic.

Simeon has a special mental connection to Luke via them both connecting a small bit of their magic together. This way they can stay in contact just about anywhere and can feel when something is wrong.

Luke!

Luke is a wonderful little cherub angel!

He is stronger than he looks and at least a few centuries old.

Angels age a lot slower so he is about 10 human year wise.

He is a strong angel and can lift as much as Simeon can!

He is a fast learner and is very emotionally attuned to those around him.

He has two small wings as long as his arms on the back of his shoulder blades,

he can’t fly quite yet but he can glide pretty well!

He has an extra strong sence of smell, taste, and touch.

He can also catch alot more details without even trying.

Like most kids he recovers and heals super fast.

He is still growing so one day he might be able to lift more than Simeon can and will be able to master spells and baking in the future!

Solomon the old man (affectionate)

He is like any other human, no extra organs or anything but he is special.

With his many many pacts he gains immense power.

Humans have to get magic from other sources. Weather through artifacts, or through pacts or even special mixes from nature.

Solomon is one of those few super humans though.

His special grey eyes shine with power and wisdom but he refuses most of the time to be serious since he has learned to act like a child more than the ancient being he is. I’m sorry Solomon please don’t hex me

His special not really human ability is his memory. He can recall any even with surprising detail and can basically solve a lot of mystery’s with just context clues (like physic!)

He is average strength wise, and has probably 3 PhD’s. One of which is absolutely in mythology/ history.

Mc?!

The Mc is a very special human! A descendant of an angel reincarnated, the master of the 7 demon lords and loved by many!

The Mc had no powers before that made them any different from anyone else. It wasn’t until they had the pacts that they got some magic ability but it wasn’t much.

They gained more and more power the more pacts they gained and it got a bit out of hand etc.

anyway the Mc gained powers via the pacts and angelic ancestry and instead of generating their own magic via an organ, they get the extra magical energy the brothers make and it seeps through the pacts into their blood.

This does mean the brothers know when you use magic since they feel a slight drain for a few minutes.
