Hi there, @0rah-s! It’s me, your Secret Santa here! This took me a while to write (since I’m trying out something new) so I’m sorry that this came late. I hope you like this, regardless! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 💝 It’s also short, sorry. 😶

Diluc has never celebrated Christmas. He never thinks there’s a need for it, since the tavern is always packed during the holiday season, especially on a day like Christmas.

Until you entered his life and told him about how fun the holidays are, especially the days leading up to Christmas. Decorating the Christmas tree, exchanging presents with friends…

“Earth to Diluc! Come on, we still have Christmas to celebrate!”

He shakes his head and laughs quietly, looking over at you with a loving gaze. He’s mesmerized by you. Your charismatic smile, your caring and helpful nature, the way you’re always so patient with him, and the way you taught him how to love again. He is deeply in love with you. His beloved.

After making sure that the tavern is locked up, you make your way back to Dawn Winery with him. He gently takes your hand in his, giving it a light squeeze. “Darling, I love you.” While you’re looking at the falling snow, he briefly lets go of your hand to remove his coat, gently placing them over your shoulders.

Diluc doesn’t talk much, especially about his feelings. Everyone, even you, knows this. However, as he has his eyes on you at this very moment, something in him pushes him to say the thing that has been on his mind.

“You entering my life is the best thing that has happened to me.”

Before you can react, you’re in his strong arms, with one supporting your back and the other under your knees. He suppressed a laugh while you stare at him in shock, silently telling him to put you down but he only smiles at you and gives you a tender kiss. “Let’s go home now, shall we, my love? We still have Christmas to celebrate after all.”

Diluc likes simplicity. When you first told him that you enjoy celebrating Christmas, he took a mental note of it, for you. Eventually, he grew to like spending Christmas day with you. There’s never a big celebration with a group of people, there’s always just the both of you. Just relaxing with each other with a cup of hot drink in your hands and conversing about anything and everything under the sun; though most times it’s you speaking, Diluc always listens. He’ll occasionally chime in when he has something to add.

Diluc only has you in his heart. He’s certain of it. It took a long time for him to open up again, after the period of time that his life fell into shambles. When he was slowly falling in love with you, he knew deep in his heart that you’re the one he wants to be with for life. He will never stop being in love with you.

Diluc doesn’t like physical contact all that much. The only exception? You. He loves holding you in his warm embrace, he loves holding your hands and warming them up, and he loves having you on his lap while he does his paperwork. He finds comfort in your arms when his nightmares scare him awake.

As you and Diluc stand in the middle of the living room, with your arms around his neck and his around your waist, he locks gazes with you, his filled with love and adoration. You, who helped him through his darkest times. You, who’s his pillar of support. You, who has so much love and support to give him. You, who has never given up on him.

Diluc, who wants to spend the rest of his life with you. He pulls away slowly and gets on one knee, looking up at you with tears in his eyes. He doesn’t cry, not ever since the fateful day a few years ago. But he loves you, he loves you with all his heart. He held up an opened, small box in his large hand, a ruby ring in the said box.

“(Y/N), the light of my life.”

He cleared his throat to stabilize his voice.

“You’re the most important person in my life and the person I love most. There’s no one I want to be together with for life, than you. Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?”
