SYNOPSIS: You bake cookies with your boyfriend on Christmas morning in your apartment.

"Megumi," you whispered. "Merry Christmas."

You were so excited for Christmas that your body woke you up on its own. You had been waiting for Megumi to wake up on his own, watching his facial features for the slightest twitch.

He rubbed his eyes, then blinked away the blue and crusts. You smiled and took a picture of him, making him grumble in protest.

"Merry Christmas," he murmured sleepily. "What time is it?"

"Ten," you said. "It's snowing outside. Come look."

"Give me a second," he said, pulling his arms out from the blankets to stretch them above his head.

On instinct, you curled up against him and he brought his arms down to wrap you in them. You rubbed your face against his side before climbing on top of him.

"Snow," you urged. "Just from the window. I know you don't wanna go out."

Both you and Megumi were homebodies. You didn't go out unless it was necessary, but both of you liked it like that.

You climbed off him and stood by the window in your room, beckoning him to get out of bed and join you. He threw his legs off the bed and slipped his feet into slippers before joining you.

"It's pretty," you said.

He nodded. "We should check the water to make sure our pipes aren't frozen."

"My boyfriend, always the smart one," you said with a soft peck to his chin before shuffling toward the bathroom.

While Megumi checked the water in the kitchen, you checked the bathroom. He joined you after, informing you that the water was flowing.

"We're good here too," you said as you handed him his toothbrush with toothpaste.

The two of you stood side by side, brushing your teeth together. It was routine when the two of you were together to simply do things together.

You spat the toothpaste out and rinsed your toothbrush, moving to the side to let Megumi do the same.

"Can we bake cookies today?" you questioned. "I ordered Christmas cookie cutters online and they came a few days ago. I've been wanting to bake cookies with you."

"Sounds good, dove."

With a smile, you skipped into the kitchen and started a pot of coffee going for Megumi. You drummed your fingers along the countertop for a moment before suddenly remembering that the occasion called for Christmas music.

" 'gumi, can you get my phone?" you called out.

He didn't respond, but you knew he heard you. He liked to preserve his energy and talking seemed to be tiresome at times.

He walked into the kitchen and handed you your phone before nudging the side of your head with his nose. You unlocked your phone and played a Christmas playlist while Megumi sniffed you.

There wasn't a weird reason for him to sniff you. He just liked how you smelled. He reminded you so much of a puppy sometimes.

"Could you get the ingredients, 'gumi?" you asked.

"Sugar cookies, right?"

"Yep!"

He kissed your forehead, then pulled up a sugar cookie recipe from his phone and began pulling out the ingredients from the pantry.

You danced to the songs, taking peeks at the recipe and getting out bowls, mixing spoons, and measuring spoons.

Megumi, with his long arms, carried everything to the counter and waited for you to start. Usually, when you baked anything, you did most of the work but that was because it was more efficient. Besides, Megumi liked watching you when you were completely mesmerized by something.

You could only focus on that thing, raging about with it. Your eyes were glued to his phone screen, reading the recipe as you poured flour here, sugar there, and vanilla extract into the bowl.

"Let me help," he offered.

Snapping out of your baking frenzy, you looked at him and handed him the wooden mixing spoon.

"I'm too lazy to stir," you said simply.

He rolled up his sleeves and took the spoon, wrapping an arm around the bowl to begin mixing. Within one stir, flour flew out onto his clothes and cheek.

You blinked, holding in your laughter as he stood there frozen in silence. You couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.

" 'gumi, are you okay? Did any get in your eye?" you asked through bubbles of laughter.

He dipped his fingers into the top layer of flour and flicked it at you, splattering across your face in clouds of white dust. You immediately stopped laughing, opening your eyes through blinks of white dust.

The two of you stared at each other before laughing. The two of you were completely covered in flour, and it was okay.

“Let me take photos. Hold on,” you said as you grabbed your phone and swiped to the camera.

The two of you took many selfies and timed photos of you being covered in flour. You laughed at the pictures of Megumi either frowning, rolling his eyes, or smiling when he thought you weren't looking.

“Okay, let's finally finish these cookies. I'll turn the oven on while you mix. Try not to lose all of our ingredients,” you teased.

He rolled his eyes. “I won't.”

Once Megumi was finished stirring, the two of you grabbed small balls of dough and flattened them on a clean tray.

“Should we make a snowman first? Or a Christmas tree? Maybe Santa?” you questioned.

“We'll get to all of them, so it won't matter.”

You frowned at him.

“Snowman,” he answered after seeing the upset look on your face.

You smiled and nodded, grabbing the snowman-shaped cookie cutter. “You can do the honors.”

“We can do it together,” he said quietly with a faint blush across his cheeks as he grabbed your hand and pressed down on the cookie cutter together.

You smiled. “This is fun. I love you, ‘gumi.”

“I love you too, Y/N,” he said.

You kissed his chin and placed the snowman dough onto the baking tray. “Let's do a Christmas tree next,” you suggested. “It reminds me of your hair.”

He stared at you with an unamused expression on your face. “You think you're funny.”

“I really do.”

Welcome to ‘Music & Vocaloids Month’! Throughout April, I will be posting one scenario about a character who is related to anime/musical manga or is a vocaloid. Sometimes it will; one character x reader, sometimes two characters x reader, and sometimes several characters x reader. There will be fluffy, angsty, smuts, romance, sfw or nsfw ... Weekly Vocajournal #18 (08/01 - 15/01)

Absolutely stacked week for Vocaloid fans! A bunch of well-known producers decided to upload this week (especially the last few days). One of them being:

DECO*27, Pinocchio-P - (Not) A Devil (ft. Hatsune Miku)

PinocchioP continues his string of unexpected but iconic collabs (anyone remember Gorgeous Big Conversation? Anyone?) with this release and its related album (the remixes are great, give it a listen!). Packing both producers's signature sound, but especially in their signature Miku tuning and lyrical arrangement. A good showcase of how a voicebank can sound different (and still good) in different producers' hands.

GESO, rinri - 異種 (ft. Kaai Yuki, GUMI, Meika Hime)

Had a very vivid sense of deja vu while listening, before remembering that this was a Mushoku Toumeisai entry (that me and a lot of other people were guessing was by youまん. Oops.) A very fine blend of each producers' iconic voicebanks, a very atmospheric song, and now with a beautiful PV.

inabakumori - Float Play (ft. Kaai Yuki)

About everything I want from a faster-paced inabakumori song: melancholy, excellent Kaai Yuki tuning, earworm-y hooks, and great animation by nukunukunigirimeshi. One of the highlights from the string of well-known producer uploads.

Yosukenchos - Easy (ft. Yuzuki Yukari Rei)

An oasis amidst the hectic week of uploads. Yosukenchos is easily becoming one of my favorite RnB/jazzy vocaPs, and the good Yukari Rei tuning helps too.

ののののああああ - Bakemono (ft. RIME)

I'll admit that I haven't heard every single song by this producer, but I definitely wasn't expecting this harsh glitchrock from them! RIME's low, wavering and full voice rounds off the song and gives it a melancholic edge.

#775 - p.h. (SEVENTHLINKS) [Flower]

Achievement Date: 23-04-01, Upload Date: 20-05-29

One of the little hits of the COVID year part 1, the idea of drug fueled addiction feels quite close at the time and the distorted flower voice is quite distinctive. Two-person group which kind of had a fallout, and therefore only left this song, apparently. Huh.

#776 - Dependent Fritters (Denpol-P) [Hatsune Miku]

Achievement Date: 23-04-01, Upload Date: 14-07-09

Very different from his more modern songs, this song has that 70’s grease, especially with that whack effect on the intro, and there is a lot more effect on this song. And even the lyrics are your typical kind-of seduction song, which is an interesting turn.

#777 - Mikazuki Step (r-906) [Hatsune Miku]

Achievement Date: 23-04-01, Upload Date: 20-03-26

r-906 follows Iyowa as the new and rising VOCALOID producer. This is their first real hit, at least this is when I first encountered them. Apparently the song got popular in late ‘22, so it needed to have a second bump to get here. I think this is more conventional of r-906’s work, which oddly surprises me, considering their later output.

#778 - Capriccio Farce (MothyP) [MEIKO, KAITO, Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Gakupo, GUMI]

Achievement Date: 23-04-07, Upload Date: 11-10-29

Kind of the big season finale of the Evilicious series, with 8 VOCALOIDS, much akin to Hitoshizu x Yama songs. It really does sound like an ED to late 90’s serial anime. Only miff I have is that the tuning is bad enough that the words kind of get eaten sometimes. 

#779 - SHANTI (wotaku) [KAITO]

The latest KAITO song uploaded on this list since… Doctor=Funk Beat? wotaku’s unique tuning really sells what is otherwise an awkward VOCALOID. An intrigue premise and the arresting visual and what might be one of the best examples of wotaku’s signature sonic palette. 

#780 - Anonymous M (PinocchioP) [Hatsune Miku, ARuFa]

Achievement Data: 23-04-18, Upload Date: 23-02-17

An expansion of the interview being turned into a song by one of the great masters featuring a friend and major YouTuber in his own right. Probably PinocchioP’s more cynical song that’s directly about Hatsune Miku… Compare to a song that would be coming up from CosMo soon. Very stylized, very 2020’s PinocchioP.

#781 - Love Song (LamazeP) [Hatsune Miku]

It is an absolute travesty that LamazeP has only three songs on this list considering his influence (4 if you include Ochame Kinou), but this is a fine inclusion. LamazeP is known for his shitpost songs, but I like his genuinely sweet songs like this better. 

#782 - GETCHA! (Giga, KIRA) [Hatsune Miku, GUMI]

Big collision of western and eastern greats, only to be shadowed by two VTubers. Well, the original certainly lives up to that cover. Seriously, it really is one of best Giga/KIRA songs out there with expert tuning and K-Pop style that really pops out, and the GirlBoss lyrics are nicely welcomed, and the distinctive art… that’s good too.

#783, R-4 - Kiritan Wants to Battle Online Endlessly (GYARI) [Kiritan, Yukari, Akari]

Kiritan has been a favorite lately, but this is an early version made by the VOICEROID and VTuber group head GYARI in… I think this is the final series on this list, making VOICEROID Singing series one of the few series where all the songs are in this list. GYARI nicely uses the drawling and flat voice of Kiritan to demonstrate the life and times of gamer’s playthrough of a popular game…

Another song in YouTube Top 100 finally popping onto this list. It’s also been a long time since an IA song got on this list, last one of Surges? Yeah… Certainly has that Orangestar summer IA feeling, which I think is the ‘correct’ way of using IA.

fav miku (or any vocaloid) figure??

Aahh sorry I took a while to respond! I actually went through my Pinterest board of figurines to be able to answer this properly (I don't keep up with figurines or their names or anything I just save photos if I think they're pretty lol)

So for other vocaloids, I love all Gumi nendoroids, and the Kagamine Rin And Len Tony Ver. figurines (I think the Kagamine ones should pop up if you google them like that, I made sure to get the names that would turn up the figurines in search results)

And then for Miku I have two (well, maybe three. I kind of want to include Ribbon Girl Module figurine since I'm so obsessed with her but I'm not sure), but one of them I don't know the name of :( I'll post the photo at the end of the post in case anyone can identify her because I think she's literally the cutest but reverse image search didn't give me any results

And the other one that I'm also obsessed with is the Good Smile Character Vocal Series 01 Hatsune Miku with Solwa 1/7 scale. The DETAIL- I'm so in love
