J’ai écrit mon premier article sur ce site le 20 Juillet 2023. Moins de 3 mois après, je me retrouve à la veille du défi que je m’étais lancé : être finisher de mon premier swimrun, l’Ötillö World Series de Cannes. J’ai annoncé partout sur Linkedin, Facebook que je me lançais sur cette épreuve et j’avoue qu’en regardant le parcours, je me demande si je n’ai pas fait une bêtise de le dire à tout…

swimrun is an interesting ultra/enduro sport... in smaller bites it looks quite fun and includes legal equipment that is banned in most triathlons.

The last ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series, the 7th in the year, was a tough day out for the racers. Malta showed all sides, big wind from the west and some rain during part of the day made the race course challenging. Most swims were quite protected except for the last ones which got the full force of the wind. The rain made it difficult as the clay ground became slippery and with some comical clay build up under the shoes. This together with the very strong field of racers made the race quite challenging.

Swimming - 6 years ago I hardly knew How to swim but inspired by all the racers I Said I have to learn. Now I swim ok with all the tools (pullbuoy & hand paddles) but the big thing is being in the water. Becoming one with the element. Cold Water - swimming in cold water is like meditation. You can only focus on managing it. Nothing else. To let go of fear and to relax into it. The endorphine rush and feel good hormones released after is addicting.
