"In Kazakhstan, a murder occurred in the BAU restaurant in the city of Astana. According to the Astana city police, a report was received about a quarrel between visitors, as a result of which a woman died from bodily injuries. The murderer of his second wife is the former Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Bishimbayev.

Kuandyk Bishimbayev's cousin was at the crime scene on November 9th, and he testified. On the morning of November 9th, Kuandyk Bishimbayev called his cousin and asked him to come to the restaurant quickly.

Around 9:30 a.m., he arrived at the restaurant and saw that the light was on in the first VIP booth. I knocked, but Bishimbayev did not allow me to enter, asking me to bring a blanket. That's what he did - he went to the dressing room, took two blankets and entered the stall. There I saw Saltanat Nukenova lying motionless, she was snoring heavily.

He thought the woman was asleep. Although then I noticed traces of blood on the floor at the entrance. Bishimbayev covered the woman with two blankets brought in front of his eyes. After that, my brother closed the booth and went to his office. Around one o'clock in the afternoon, Bishimbayev called him again and told him to bring cigarettes, aspirin and ketonal. When he received his things, he ordered all the staff to be released so that no one would stay in the restaurant. The brother completed the assignment, dismissed the people and returned to the office.

At half past one in the afternoon, Bishimbayev wrote to him on WhatsApp: "Delete all surveillance videos in the gastroenterology center." My brother immediately called the administrator and gave this order to remove all video from surveillance cameras not only in the restaurant, but also in the entire gastrocenter. At 13:45 I went down to the control room to make sure that the video was deleted.

At 14:00, Bishimbayev again summoned him to his office. When he entered the cabin, he saw that Nukenova was still lying on the couch, but he did not come close. Kuandyk asked him to find his wife's iPhone. They started looking together, but they didn't find it in the restaurant. Then Bishimbayev asked to see the interior of the car (Toyota Land Cruiser), the phone was really lying there on the panel.

Upon returning, my brother heard the following request: to take this phone home to Nukenova, but on the way, be sure to stop at the Fitness Palace and stay there for 10-15 minutes, since her brother tracks the phone by geolocation. After that, Bishimbayev demanded to return.After that, Bishimbayev demanded to return quickly, and upon arrival stated that he was hungry and ordered food at 16:20. They ate together in the common room of the restaurant. At the end of the meal, Bishimbayev asked his brother to go to the booth to look at Nukenova, then he noticed that she had stopped snoring.

He said he needed to call an ambulance, but the answer was "she's asleep." It happened at 16:35, and at 16:40 Bishimbayev called him in his office again and asked him to check the woman's pulse.

In the testimony, the brother said that only after checking the pulse, he realized that Nukenova was dead, and called an ambulance from his phone. After 15 minutes, I met the doctors, Bishimbayev was next to Nukenova at that moment and was panicking, hysterical. Police officers arrived immediately after the ambulance.

The deleted video was restored, and the footage at 7:00 and so shows Bishimbayev severely beating a woman.

Experts have restored the video and claim that it was not a technical failure, as explained in the gastro center, but a deliberate deletion of the video, which is also confirmed by the testimony of Bishimbayev's brother."

I’ve said it in several previous posts; nobody since the end of World War II has done more damage to Russia than Vladimir Putin. In that context, Putin is Russia’s greatest enemy.

Putin’s aim has been to destroy Ukraine as a national entity. That includes eradication of its culture. What has happened instead is that people in Ukraine in addition to other countries now want nothing to do with Russian culture.

“I was a Russian speaker until 24 February,” said Adeline, an art student from the now Russian-occupied town of Nova Kakhovka, referencing the date of Russia’s full-scale invasion earlier this year. Russia has failed to take over Ukrainian culture, she said, so now it has set out to kill it. Several other Ukrainian students told me they find “the spirit of freedom” in Ukrainian literature, but of subservience to power in Russian literature.

Tetiana, a refugee from the ruthlessly bombed and destroyed city of Mariupol, had suffered without heat, light or water in a cellar under constant bombardment, seen her best friend killed by a Russian missile, and then had a traumatic odyssey of escape. Tetiana not merely speaks much better Russian than Ukrainian; her mother is actually from Russia, as are her parents-in-law. The Russian president would consider her a Russian. So I asked her for her message to Putin. She replied that she would like to kill him.

Wherever I turned, in every conversation, there was a total rejection not just of the Russian dictator, not merely of the Russian Federation as a state, but of everything and almost everyone Russian. Polling by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology shows that some 80% of Ukrainians had a positive attitude to Russia in 2013; by May 2022, the figure was just 2%. A university lecturer told me that his students now write “russia” with a small initial letter. “I don’t correct them.”

Some pre-war stats suggest that roughly 22% of Ukrainians spoke Russian as a first language. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself grew up speaking Russian. Now there is an abject hatred of all things Russian in Ukraine.

While this attitude might be expected in a country where Russia is committing acts of genocide, it is not limited to Ukraine.

In Georgia, a strong resentment of neoimperial Russia is more than understandable, since Russia has occupied roughly – a fifth of the country’s sovereign territory (in Abkhazia and South Ossetia) since 2008. But following the invasion of Ukraine, that hostility has enveloped almost all Russians. Ironically enough, this impacts the many tens of thousands of Russians who have fled to Georgia precisely to avoid being conscripted into fighting in Putin’s war against Ukraine. Georgians ask: why don’t you protest back home? Or as one banner put it, “Putin is killing people in Ukraine while Russians eat khachapuri in Georgia.” (Khachapuri is the distinctive Georgian cheese bread.)

Actually, khachapuri is best described as a Georgian equivalent of pizza. But you get the idea.

There is also high profile resentment of Russia in Kazakhstan.

On YouTube, you can watch a magnificent excoriation of the bullying Russian ambassador to Kazakhstan, Alexey Borodavkin, delivered in fluent Russian by the Kazakh journalist Arman Shuraev. “Russophobia is all that you have achieved with your stupid actions,” he says. If Russia invades Kazakhstan as it has Ukraine, “the entire Kazakh steppe will be strewn with the corpses of your conscripts … You are idiots. You are cannibals who eat themselves.”

“Borodavkin,” he concludes, directly addressing the ambassador, “if you want to see Nazis and fascists in Kazakhstan, look in the mirror and you will see the main Nazi and fascist. Glory to Ukraine! Forward Kazakhstan!”

The cultural concept of “russkiy mir” (”the Russian world”) began in a somewhat benign way after the collapse of the Soviet Union. But Putin hijacked it and has used it as an imperialistic justification for his military adventures.

The notion of russkiy mir was revived and repackaged in the late 1990s as a kind of Russian soft-power initiative (mir means peace as well as world). In 2007, a Russkiy Mir Foundation was created by presidential decree. This was presented as a Russian counterpart to the British Council or Germany’s Goethe-Institut, but the concept was then weaponised by Putin to justify his war of recolonisation in Ukraine. He explicitly mentioned the term in a speech justifying the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

The entirely predictable result: revulsion against his recolonisation wars has extended to the whole broader notion of a Russian-speaking world.

Outside of Russia, russkiy mir/the Russian world is usually used in a derogatory way. You may read or hear this expression in the media when Ukrainians or others talk about Putin’s territorial ambitions.

Instead of killing Ukrainian culture, Putin’s invasion is inflicting serious damage on Russia’s international cultural standing.

Russian culture is thus a collateral victim of Putin’s self-devouring cannibalism. There was an alternative future in which Russian-speaking culture, like today’s English-speaking culture, may have become multiculturally enriched by authors and artists from all its former colonies. What would contemporary English-language literature be without authors from India, Africa and Oceania? And, after all, fine contemporary Ukrainian writers such as Andrey Kurkov write – or should I say wrote? – in Russian.

In the end, Vladimir Putin will go down in history not merely as the man who failed to restore the Russian empire, but as the destroyer of the Russian world.

Indeed. No matter what happens, history will regard Putin as a loser. Future generations in Russia will despise him the way modern Germans hate Hitler. Those who try to overthrow Putin would be regarded as true heroes in Russia’s future.

В поездах Казахстана стало ещё больше вагонов только для женщин

Женские вагоны появились на железных дорогах страны в 2021 году. Билеты в них стоят столько же, сколько и в обычных, — при этом продают их только женщинам. С мамами могут находиться мальчики в возрасте до 7 лет, а остальным лицам мужского пола вход воспрещён. Проводницами работают тоже только женщины.

С тех пор, как услуга появилась, передаёт издание inAstana, билеты в такие вагоны купили 342 тысячи женщин. Национальный железнодорожный перевозчик «Казахстан темир жолы» сообщает, что популярность такого сервиса только растёт. Их слова передаёт издание «Радио Азатлык»: в этом году услугой воспользовались 70 тысяч женщин — это в два раза больше, чем за аналогичный период года прошлого.

Ранее было 8 поездов с женскими вагонами. Теперь, как отчитался КТЖ, такую услугу запустили ещё на трёх маршрутах: Астана – Семей, Актобе – Алматы, Алматы – Шымкент.

Идею впервые стали обсуждать в 2018 году, когда пассажирку изнасиловали два проводника. А недавно был инцидент, когда мужчина зашёл в купе и мастурбировал возле спящей женщины.

Около 500 человек приняли участие в санитарной очистке территорий в Актобе

В рамках республиканской экологической акции «Таза Қазақстан» в регионе прошла акция «Таза орман».

Около 500 работников лесхозов и бойцов отряда «Жасыл ел» очищали от мусора территорию в жилом массиве «Жибек жолы» («Заречный-3»), где расположено Актюбинское учреждение по охране лесов и животного мира.

Участников акции обеспечили необходимой техникой и инвентарем. Они спилили сухие ветки с деревьев, очистили от мусора местность, прибрались вдоль проезжей части и в канавах.

Сегодня в Актюбинской области действуют 9 учреждений по охране лесов и животного мира (в Актобе, Үлкен-Борсық в Шалкаре, Карабутаке, Мартуке, Темирском, Уилском, Кобдинском, Оркаше в Мугалжарском, Байганинском районах). Kazakhstan was a strong ally of Russia just a few years ago but has been drifting away from the Kremlin since Putin’s three-day invasion of Ukraine began over nine months ago.

Russian draft dodgers have been flooding into Kazakhstan. To add insult to injury, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has instituted some pro-democracy reforms in his country. Putin absolutely HATES democracy; one of the actual reasons for the Ukraine invasion was to stop the influence of Ukrainian democracy and tolerance from spreading to Russia. President Tokayev has also shown greater regard for international law.

Kazakhstan has traditionally been one of Russia’s closest allies. Due to a combination of factors such as common history, security cooperation, economic integration, and one of the world’s longest shared borders, there is little chance of a complete collapse in bilateral ties. Nevertheless, Kazakhstan has adopted a principled position in relation to the current war and has underlined that it does not approve of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

On November 11, Tokayev participated in the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in neighboring Uzbekistan, where he again stressed the importance of strictly observing the UN Charter. In a further blow to Moscow, Kazakhstan has already begun to enhance the Trans-Caspian international transport route, which bypasses Russia and travels through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and on to Europe via Turkey.

Putin has been trying to restore the decrepit Soviet Union of his youth in all but name. Kazakhstan‘s increasing independence and Ukraine’s success at resisting Russia’s shit army have made his goal seem ridiculous.
