okay I've finished making my big spreadsheet of how mp100 characters refer to each other! some thoughts on this under the cut because it got long

the Kageyama brothers are very polite in how they refer to people. their parents must have really instilled etiquette into them bc no one else is as consistent about using polite honorifics/titles as they are. the only people Mob doesn't give an honorific/title are his brother and Dimple, and the only people Ritsu doesn't give an honorific are Dimple and Shou, who he just calls "Suzuki"

Reigen, on the other hand, is pretty inconsistent and casual with his use of honorifics. he says "Mob-kun" a couple times and "Ritsu-kun" once, but usually they're just Mob and Ritsu (or "Mob's brother" lmao). the only honorific he consistently uses is "Tome-chan"

it's infrequent, but both Reigen and Dimple refer to Mob as "my boy" at some point :') he's their boy!

Ritsu doesn't refer to the Awakening Lab kids at all until he asks their names after being kidnapped lmao the only exception is when he calls out to the older Shiratori brother after the younger one is taken away and he calls him "Shiratori-kun." considering the fact that after asking their names, he refers to both of them as Daichi-kun and Kaito-kun, I think there was absolutely a moment when everyone was freaking out about the Shiratori brothers where he was like "ohhhhh that's his name"

also he switches from "Onigawara-san" to "Onigawara-senpai" when he realizes he's friends with his brother lmao fakeass

even though Mob starts calling Teru "Hanazawa-kun" as soon as they exchange names, Teru doesn't give him the honorific until they decide to raid Claw together. I guess that's the point when he decides they're friendly enough for it? he calls Ritsu "brother-kun" as soon as he realizes they're related and never refers to him by his actual name

everyone calls Teru some variation on his nickname EXCEPT Mob and Dimple. Dimple actually only calls him "brat" and "that guy" for a while until he managed to track him down again during the alleyway incident, which I realized is because he was exorcised before learning Teru's name lskdjflkdsf from the Seventh Division arc onwards, he just calls him "Hanazawa"

I love that Dimple tries to refer to the brothers with cutesy nicknames and both of them are like "if you do that again I'm killing you all the way dead" and he's like "understood." and then refers to them by given name from then on lmao

Teru refers to Dimple as "Dimple-kun" and Tome calls him "Dimple-chan," both of which are SO funny to me because he's way older than them. rude as hell, this evil spirit deserves no respect

Shou doesn't use honorifics or titles for ANYONE. Ritsu is just Ritsu, the Ultimate 5 are all their last names, his dad is just Pops. he also exclusively refers to Mob as "Ritsu's brother" dkfjldskfj

Serizawa alternates between "Shigeo-kun" and "Kageyama-kun" with no real rhyme or reason to it. just seems to depend on his mood I guess

Reigen who's really glad to hear that the body improvement club members all seem also very supportive once they realised Mob was trans, helping find a solution for when he exercises. I just think Reigen would be there for Mob throughout everything, seeing him grow more and more confident in many ways. He'd be that person who knew barely anything about trans stuff in general to try to know as much as he can to help Mob.

Fic Summary: When Garou and Genos agree to watch Tareo for the holidays, chaos ensues. Genos accidentally ruins Christmas with science. Saitama confronts his arch nemesis (elves). And who the heck keeps melting all of Garou's snow monsters? Certainly not Reigen Arataka.

In this Chapter: Garou finally gets revenge on Saitama for stealing his Christmas decorations. The elves have their own plans. Everyone in the house has one fucking braincell. This reads a little bit more like a horror movie than most other chapters. You can blame John-senpai for this, as well as most of my other bad ideas.

“Where were you on the morning of December 22nd?” Garou demanded, slamming his palms on the table. “And don’t give me some bullshit about ‘playing video games’—King is sick and tired of covering for your ass."

Garou adjusted the desk lamp, beaming a harsh glare directly into Saitama’s eyes. With the right lighting and a few key props, Garou had transformed their kitchen into some kind of hybrid courtroom/interrogation chamber… not that you could easily see it. For the sake of dramatic effect, Garou had kept the room dark—except for the interrogation lamp, of course.

Saitama hated Christmas decorations, and Garou understood this. Perhaps for that reason, Garou had decorated their entire yard with garish Christmas geegaws of every terrible, tacky stripe. The tiny wooden elves were the worst offenders, and so Saitama had stolen them a few days ago, and subsequently dumped them in the lake.

“Hey, watch where you aim that thing.” Scowling, Saitama batted the lamp away from his face. Garou, being the impudent cat that he was, batted it right back where it had been. The spotlight washed over the elves, illuminating their loathsome little features and their unusual outfits.

“Did you have to dress the elves up in little judge robes?” Saitama protested. “That’s so weird—”

“Focus, Baldy,” Garou growled. “The longer you stay silent, the worse it’s gonna be for you.”

Some days the idea of age-reversal au for mp100 just creeps into my mind and won't leave me alone.

Look, I blame this on the shit ton of art I found of kid Reigen being his delightful self around Mob. And Mob going ballistic when baby Reigen gets injured.

Ekubo being the reluctant babysitter, like doesn't see the value to this kid at all. And when Reigen can finally see him, he ends ups having this ridiculous arguments with him. Much like Ritsu, he finds Reigen a bit annoying, but he would protect him any time. He's also the one who finds out that Reigen doesn really have a good home life. And goes about this roundabout way of letting Reigen tag along and be their little agency's part-timer.

(Look Reigen is a good liar, and I'd always thought he's the kind of person who'd downplay something that shouldn't be and exaggerate something that's really simple.)

Everyone juts protective of him coz he's not only a kid but he absolutely has no way of protecting himself. And sure his techniques works sometimes and some of their odd jobs he can actually solve, but when shit hits the fan Reigen is defenseless on his own.

Half the shit they get into is Reigen's doing one way or another. I want tiny Reigen looking for what jobs they could take because he doesn't want to be just a tag-along to Mob. Reigen saying he'll have to look presentable for their clients so he wears this little suits that way they'll take him seriously. Which does the exact opposite coz he looks absolutely adorable.

And maybe, just maybe, it's him who gets Ritsu and Shou to stop dancing around each other. And Teru to just ask Mob out already coz he looks really lame mooning after shishou like that. And it's him who drags Serizawa to the agency and get him to start working their too and takes absolute delight in being called Senpai by someone older than him.

And if his heart flutters weirdly when Katsuya smiles at him, well it's prolly coz he ate something, right? He totally isn't blushing when he watches Katsuya fight. He was totally hot— It! IT WAS TOTALLY HOT in that building! Shut up Ritsu!

my initial feeling on the tome manga (lol) is that its like Hard to even process that she's the same character, partially new to how strange the new setting is for her (partially also due to going from anime to manga for me)

this morning im thinking, that's probably because she's sort of in an opposite situation now

in middle school she was a senpai and in charge of the club and people just kind of liked her for being Her, even though they didn't share her interest. her acceptance and belonging was a given

in this spinoff, even though its goofy silly reigen manga, a lot of her feelings of looking for belonging really resonated with me! she feels like an entirely different character because now shes literally begging to belong with reigen and serizawa and debating just. giving up on making normal friends entirely in highschool. shes gone from the top of the social dynamic to the very bottom, but its nice seeing her doggedly try to find some belonging because now she gets to share her passions with these new people too. the belonging is gone at first, but now the journey to get it back is different because shes building from a different place than she was in middleschool.

When there weren't clients around waiting to be helped, Spirits and Such was generally on the quieter side. Shigeo didn't mind too much. Having some time to relax after school (and after his club) was kind of nice. Today, however, he'd been the one to call a guest in. One who had been of help to him in the past, and whom he hoped to get to know better. When it came to speaking on the matter of why, however, that was a different matter entirely. Shigeo Kageyama was nothing if not awkward. Endearing, sure, but awkward nonetheless. It took a direct question to get a more direct answer from him.

“Thank you for coming by, Kurusu-san.” He just needed to remember what Reigen had taught him about how to deal with customers. Granted, it didn't come nearly as readily with him. Something like that would help him in normal conversations too, as had been explained to him, though he always had the idea in his mind that speaking to everyone like a customer might come off as patronizing. “I had a few questions for you about your psychic powers...” Wasn’t one of the first rules Reigen gave him about refreshments? He stiffened a bit as he remembered this. How could he forget? He wanted to help put Akira at ease, and something like that could do a better job than his words could. “Oh, are you thirsty? I could make you some tea.” There was always some kept in the office.

"Please, Akira-senpai is fine. I'm only a few years older than you anyways". Even if Kurusu wasn't his true family's last name, it still felt awkward to have someone call you the equivalent of sir since they were somewhat around the same age. Plus Akira had been friends with Shinya Oda and that kid was in elementary school. Then again friend was loosely put here because he was more of a confidant than an actual person that Akira could call more than an acquaintance at first.

"Come again? I'm sorry but I don't have psychic powers....." All Akira did was stand in a corner while everyone did all the work to escape that hellhole as he had called it. Still maybe because he WAS there granted anyone the assumption that he did in fact have powers. Akira was highly upset at those Claw people kidnapping him in the first place though to actually do anything substantial. "Although, I am glad my friend that does have psychic powers didn't get involved with any of that unpleasant experience". That was putting it lightly to say the least. Akira wouldn't know what he would do if his friend Haru was put into that situation.

Akira's eyes move over to the for-mentioned tea ingredients located on a counter near a kitchen nook before shaking his head, since tea wasn't his choice of drink. "No thanks. I'd ask if you had something stronger like coffee but I only take cups of it to look cool". And he's made it awkward. Hoo boy. Now it felt like a contest and Akira wonders who is actually going to be the victor of embarrassing themselves during this conversation.

"i'll wait outside, Serizawa-san."

"okay, i will be in a minute."

//soft click of the door//

He made few steps in to the office and stopped abruptly.

"oh!.."

Shigeo looked at the man, keeping the door from closing. Serizawa was standing at the corner and looking at something deep in office, smiling softly. His eyes darted to teen and he nodded his head.

"Look."

He said quietly and Shigeo went to him, closing the door. The soft light his esp caught the chime before it could make a sound.

When they both crossed the threshold area, Shigeo saw it.

Although it was past closing time and also Saturday night, his shishō seemed to stayed in late, because right now he was sitting on a client couch, toughly curled with his head in his knees and snoring a little. The office was dark due to late evening, but there was faint green light on his face and knees.

“oh!..“

The teen echoed his friend exclaim.

On shishō shoulder was sitting Ekubo. Shigeo didn't see him from the start because the spirit was really small and kinda buried himself in human body. The espers exchanged the glances.

"They are asleep?.. Like, both of them?" Serizawa whispered.

Shigeo shrugged.

"I guess. or Ekubo would be greeting be greeting us".

Serizawa looked at Reigen's table where were his books. Bluish light warped them and they slowly went into his stretched arm. Then he looked at Shigeo.

“I am ready, senpai."

"should we wake them up?“

Serizawa chewed his lips.

"It's not often Ekubo sleeps? Maybe he needs it?..“

"First time I've ever seen," Shigeo agreed. He wasn't smiling like his friend but there was so much affection in his eyes, his whole face glowed like his shishō's. "If you say so, Serizawa-san."

They left the office, not forgetting to hold the chime again before they went.
