Eyes lit with the color of the sun calmly trailed the path of the hound. She had to admit - even if the master looked a pathetic mess of skin and metal, at least the pup that worked beside her was cute. She released her hand, locks falling out of her grasp as she cocked her head up to grin to the exorcist. Slender fingers resting on her hips. So the exorcist wasn’t alone after all. Perfect. 

What better way to take a hostage. 

     “ Unlike you, I’m not in danger      if I step away from my family for      a while. I’m strong enough to      protect them. Come back to them.      Can you say the same? ”

She could hear shuffling in the distance through ears almost too keen to be human - were they by now? Only a twitch on her lips as her grin grew ever deeper at the sound of the old General’s name. 

     “ Aww, even if I wasn’t the one that      dealt the killing blow? We all have      reasons for doing what we do,       exorcist. ”

Nary a flinch when she caught the gleam of those electric blue sockets. The Noah picked up her hand and flicked out her fingers - her targets far beyond that of the exorcist at hand. Nothing damaging... yet. Just a warning through a small barrier of her own candle-lit creation, a wordless threat for the finders not to come any closer than they had. For the exorcist not to do anything they might regret. 

She didn’t want this game to be interrupted. Interested in just what her new toy was capable of - just what made this exorcist tick.

“It’s alright,” She whispers gently despite her body shaking, in her hands, she held onto the soul she had just recently extracted from the Akuma that was crumbling to dust in the corner of the abandoned building. “You can finally rest now little one.” She tries her best to smile for the spirit of the child but is unable to hide the fear in her eyes. 

She had interfered in the war between Noah and Humanity, something she had worked so hard to stay out of all these millennia. It wasn’t her place to take part in this war. It was something between humanity and she swore not to get involved. But she could only go so long before she could no longer ignore the anguished cries of the souls trapped within the Akuma.

“Your mother is waiting for you, sleep well little one.” Managing to put on a brave face, she sends the soul of the child off to the afterlife, and shortly after she crumbles to her knees. Tired silver eyes watch the remains of the Akuma disappear into dust. 

“What should I do now...?”

Frail form – too thin almost eager to break at the strongest gust of wind had shriveled at their words. She would have scurried away if there was any place to hide, but she sat in middle of a puddle, dress ruined, soaked from head to toe.
