More dragons!
Up top, we have Actual Adult Cynder, looking after her egg and worrying about her ability to be a mother.
And down below, we have some rough sketches for how I imagine Spyro and Cynder would look as young adults. I have some notes for my thoughts on them below the cut!
Cynder
She still bears a little resemblance to her corrupted form, but not as much as she feared she would. Her corrupted form is giving "Child But Stretched" and rather exaggerated in terms of what an actual adult female dragon would look like. She's quite grateful that growing up doesn't mean being reminded of her past every time she so much as sees her reflection.
She got more spikes as she got older, and does not develop any extra ridges or markings related to her elements. Maybe her wings would change slightly, though. Her corruption messed up her development a little(and I didn't know where I would put such things without crowding her markings...), so some things don't come in on time, or ever in some cases.
Spyro
As I said, I am firmly in the "Ignitus is Spyro's Father" Camp. As such, as he gets older, Spyro starts to take after the late Fire Guardian in terms of appearance. There are small differences, of course, some from his mother and others just unique to him.
The angst potential of Spyro occasionally seeing Ignitus as he catches glimpses of his reflection. Mostly in windows, where he can't always see his purple scales, or in the dark. But also, the more fluffy idea of the two reuniting on the White Isle, and Ignitus commenting on Spyro's growth of/when Spyro visits as an adult. Saying nothing of their resemblance, they can both see it. But just a fatherly comment about how far the young dragon from all those years ago has come...

species don’t exist — i mean, obviously, they do. but they aren’t objective. species are (as most things are) a cultural construction, a coalition of humans deciding where and when to draw what lines. constantly in debate: did you know paleoanthropologists are unintentionally incentivized to claim to have discovered entire new genera along the path of human evolution because they are more likely to generate media buzz and gain desperately needed funding. thousands of plants may be categorized together but a centimeter’s difference in skull thickness warrants an entire new genus name. we are more genetically similar to chimpanzees than they are to their fellow non-human primates, but due to the rules of Linnaean taxonomy humanity will never be collapsed into the same genus as them because the rules dictate that the older genus name prevails: humanity would never accept becoming Pan sapiens, especially not after it took decades for it even to be accepted that humans were a part of the taxonomy in the first place. even the most basic of criteria we’ve used in the past to decide where a species stops and starts continues to be debunked - fish from entire opposites of the world can produce fertile offspring. analogous evolution can find lines that split millions of years back creating critters that would be side by side in a disney cartoon. categorization is a eternal battleground of western scientific standards requiring universalized objective qualifiers vs. the futile efforts to recognize the unmeasurable amounts of nuance held in traditional ecological knowledge — versus the fact that, inevitably, it all boils down to a vast continuum contained within only a few percentage points of variation in the squiggly lines that tell the cells of everything on the entire globe how to eat

Can't stand how people will learn that humans are related to Pokemon and somehow come to the conclusion that different people are different types. That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.
🍑 pechaberrysoda
there are literally so many fighting type people what are you even talking about lmao
🌊 lugias-sopping-anus
Your genetic make up doesn't just magically change type because you took a karate class. Do you also think your Charizard is a Grass type now because it learnt Solar Beam?
✨ ace-trainer-luna
But aren't Psychic type people a thing? Some humans have telekinetic powers, I'm pretty sure there are a few gym leaders who have them. There are even rare cases of children born with psychic abilities.

that's still just learning moves
🌌 mistyterrain
As an actual Psychic type, this post is really disheartening to see. The fact that people who still refuse to acknowledge the existence of psychics are so common is just shocking. We exist!
☣ deathtounova
no one's refusing to acknowledge the existence of shit, you just don't know how types work
🌌 mistyterrain
The sheer ignorance on display here, it's obvious you're just mad you're a normal type lol.

how bout i karate chop your ass and we'll see how "not very effective" it is

WHAT
🥀 cradilyzone
Actual professor here! Genetically, all humans are Normal types, though some of our relatively recent ancestors were Psychic. Part of what let us succeed as a species was reutilizing the brain power originally used for psionics to language and tool use. We do still have some vestigial psychic power that can be trained, though it's quite weak compared to most Pokémon. As for those born with psychic powers, this is considered nowadays to be like an egg move, passed down from parent to child. And no, obviously learning Fighting moves doesn't make you a Fighting type, there is no way for a human to change their type.
