Asian Sophie fancast! ✨

I literally drafted this post a week ago and with the news of the potential Sophie casting call I feel like it was a sign to share my thoughts 😊

This is all for fun and as Sophie’s arrival seems to be getting closer and more inevitable, so here are some of my Sophie fancasts! As a SEA woman I would love to see representation in the Bton universe and have always pictured Sophie as Asian. [EDIT] With the assumed confirmation that Sophie will be East Asian I’ve included actresses that I love and have been fancast of mine for some time; these actresses are all East Asian (chosen before the casting call) but I also want to call to attention the lack of non-East Asian representation we see at this time. Fancast are at the end!

This is a good time to bring up what Asian representation even looks like since the continent is so big! I will be referencing this Variety article.

So we’ve seen that Asian representation has had a “significant increase of Asian characters from 3% to 16% over the course of 2007 to 2022” and while that seems like a step in the right direction it’s clear that the entirety of Asia is still not represented in media.

The release of 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians saw the increase of Asian stories and characters; but only “90% of the most visible of Asian characters on streaming platforms were a light or medium complexion”. Right now Asian representation is mainly centered around East Asians, and while any representation is good it’s important to be knowledgeable that not all Asian people are descended from that area.

There is a large disparity on how we view the term “Asian”. There are so many ethnicities that are beautiful and deserve representation. A larger representation needs to be seen within the Asian diaspora and also mindfulness to avoid common tropes and stereotypes is extremely important.

Any ways, here are some of my favorite fancasts I have right now! Conveniently all of these actresses are mixed race and with the obvious fact that Lady Cowper’s name is Araminta, it’s assumed Sophie is somehow related to them (which is a choice I do not agree with if now that Sophie is casted as a POC).

STORY IDEA: the reader and steve are out one winter day and the snow starts to fall, blanketing the world in a gentle, peaceful glow while they're out with their man mr. fox 🥊❄️✨

ANYTHING FOR YOU AND MY BELOVED STEVE FOX 🫶💕‼️

“Sure you’re fine, love? Tip of your nose is red like Rudolph!” Steve taps your nose with his finger, the material of his glove scratching you lightly. You chuckle and grab his hand, squeezing it tight before letting it go to fall back against his side.

“I’m fine, darling. ‘Sides, a little cold never hurt anyone!”

Steve scoffs and rolls his eyes, a playful smirk on lips. You two continue to walk, crunching through the snow and leaving footprints while the cold air nips at your cheeks. It was peaceful, beautiful and such a serene moment walking with Steve through the winter wonderland. You watch kids build snowmen and forts, couples and friends walking and holding warm drinks in their hands, even several animals leave their tiny tracks as they hopped through the snow on the ground.

It was everything you could ask for, truly how much more perfect could it get?

You turn your head and part your lips to say something to Steve only to be cut off when you notice the light gathering of white on his eyelashes. You blink in confusion and get ready to speak again until a few flurries land right on your lips. That’s when Steve puts his attention on you and laughs, brushing them away with his thumb. You give him an appreciative smile and look towards the sky, softly gasping as you watch snow begin to fall down.

Gradually it starts to fall a bit faster but not enough to warrant you and Steve to seek shelter, choosing instead to keep on and catch snowflakes in your hand.

“It’s beautiful…” You murmur to yourself, collecting a small pile in your hand and bringing it up to your face to admire up close. Steve watches you with tender eyes, feeling his love for you grow every second that passes. You shake your hand to be rid of the snow, letting go of Steve’s hand to dust off the remnants from your glove. Quickly you lock your fingers back together, pecking his cheek lovingly.

“Thanks for walking with me.” You tell him sweetly, giving him a firm squeeze.

Steve places a kiss on the side of your head, letting his lips linger for a few moments.

“Anytime, love.”

I bet Santa would be super duper happy about a special ornament from you!" They pet their kiddos head lovingly and smile, their kid nods and collects a few supplies, "M gonna make it super duper pwetty n glittery! Maybe Santa even shows it to the elves, Rudolph n Mrs.Santa!", "Aw I bet he will little one! I can't wait to see it, how about I get Santas little helper some cookies and milk from the kitchen? Fun fact of the day: the Grinch is the Christmas movie which brougth in the most revenue over the years. The runner up is home alone.

Started a little Christmas fic featuring an airport meetcute, hoping to have it done sometime soon 🎄

“I’m sorry, sir,” she says again. The man leans against the counter, his eyes darting down to her nametag for just a moment. “Listen, Marcy.” He bats his eyes at her and a blush rises to her cheeks. Goddamn, this guy is charming. “Don’t you think we could work together to make a little Christmas miracle happen here? Get this guy home to his son?” For a moment Eddie thinks she might actually do it; he wonders if those deep blue eyes could make anyone do anything. But then she seems to shake herself from her daze, standing up tall and clearing her throat. “The gate is closed. There’s nothing I can do.” She looks at Eddie, a flash of pity crossing over her face. “And thank you for your service.” Eddie wants to scream. He doesn’t want to be thanked for his service; he wants to see his son. He wants to be there when Christopher wakes up in the morning to make his Christmas wish come true, he wants to sit on the couch and watch the old Rudolph Claymation film that Chris loves so much, and he wants to hold his son in his arms and forget the all the pain of the past year. All the energy leaves Eddie’s body in that moment, the adrenaline that carried him through the airport receding like the ocean, twenty-five hours of travel finally crashing over him like the tidal wave that follows.

TFA Shockers is a lanky boy that could stretch and get into Blurr's code so he could sleep so he could go work so unless Blurr sees it coming and keeps Shockwave distracted enough to put him in the trance of ✨ comfort ✨ so that his Rudolph mate wouldn't feel compelled to work anymore due to the temptations of a nice recharge

TFA Megatron would definitely just have him restrained and likely tell a story for Shockers to sleep to, which gives both mecha a chance to chill since I think Storyteller Megan would secretly be his favourite Megan

TFP Megatron and TFP Shocky...

Tbh I've never read fics on them BUT I can imagine Megatron could try and persuade Shockwave to tell him about his research to keep them both in berth while they relax to Shockwave's words as the scientist is restrained by the gladiator

BIT Megatron falls asleep easily and more quickly to Shockwave's revision of his work which gives Shockers the chance to escape and delve into work once more. BIT for Megan's sake he would get a proper refuelling and schedule a time for a nap in his lab when he predicts things won't be so busy

TFP Sounders would keep that door locked no matter who it is unless the Nemesis gets damaged 💀 no one gets in or out except Laserbeak after patrol and to obtain energon cubes. Sounders is a lanky boi but he still stronk and those datacables are no joke so unless he can persuade Soundwave (which only works 3 time out of 10 he is not moving from the berth 💀💀💀

Soundwave tried to put on some relaxing music and sci-fi movies to watch but each was criticised heavily (especially Pacific Rim Godzilla, with birthed the idea of a predacon titan) which did the OPPOSITE of helping Shockwave slip into recharge

Tfp Megashock is certainly a rare pair but I've thought about it and things get interesting I swear
