Synopsis:

A manga around around a high school boy Shinichi who miraculously happens to have stopped a creature called Parasyte from taking over his brain. However, the aftermath turned out to be that his right arm is now controlled by the Parasyte, Migi. As the name suggests these creatures are parasites, creeping upon earth to invade human bodies as their host. Once they take over their host, they manage to continue living on earth by hiding their lethal form. Due to Shinichi’s semi-transformation into a host, he is able to discern them from the normal human and decides to take action.

My review:

If you are sensitive to gore and horror movies, you better not watch or read this one. It contains some pretty upsetting images but that’s what makes this manga so unique and appealing in a bizarre way. I, for myself hesitated a long time before starting the anime and then eventually I got so caught up and really enjoyed watching he anime and completing it by reading the manga. Beware that the manga is a pretty old one, so if you are looking forward for better artwork, I suggest the anime as it follows exactly the story (which I dare say is very rare for anime adaptations nowadays >.>’). An entertaining show with a great amount of thrill, horror, bloody/gory scenes and some real cringe awaiting you. Nevertheless, there is a decent amount of psychological reasoning involved which gives this series its own twist and it also incorporates the slice of life genre. At the end of the series, I believe you will have a life-changing view/opinion of parasites x’D

But then I moved away from the usual brushes for me (well, almost) and tried to paint with others. This is an anime character that I really liked. Anime called: Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (Parasyte: The Maxim/ 寄生獣 セイの格率) This is the main character Shinichi Izumi and its parasite Migi.

My Favorite Anime

I don’t watch a lot of anime but these are my favorites. Also couldn’t figure out if I were supposed to put an ‘s’ on anime because all I did find out is that English speakers hate Americans as well as all foreign languages.

The Seven Deadly Sins (七つの大罪)

The Seven Deadly Sins, frequently referred to by me and others as Nanatsu No Taizai or simply NNT is an anime based on the manga of the same name. It follows seven characters based on the seven deadly sins. It’s fantasy. Their enemies are demons and the Holy Knights, and there’s a whole bunch of political corruption.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (鋼の錬金術師  FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST)

The Japanese version essentially says “Fullmetal Alchemist Fullmetal Alchemist” lol (technically I think the Japanese means Alchemist of Steel or something like that). This too is a fantasy anime based on a manga. It’s about people with the magical powers of alchemy, except it’s science. There are a bunch of rules. These guys broke one of the rules and now one of them doesn’t have a body and the other has prosthetic limbs. So of course the one with a body joins the military, you know, as you do. Then a lot of bad things happen.

This guy’s hand is a parasite and it’s terrifying. This is based on a horror manga.

I didn’t put an English title for this because the English title is Nanbaka which, as you can see, is just a romanization. This is a colorful prison anime where some really weird thing end up happening. Also based on a manga.

A music anime. It’s very sad. Main guy plays the piano. Again based on a manga. I’m thinking maybe I should read some of these lol.

Story Of Parasyte: The Maxim: Izumi Shinichi, 17, lives in a quiet Tokyo neighbourhood with his mother and father. Parasytes, worm-like aliens, invade Earth one night and take over the brains of human hosts by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasyte tries to crawl into Shinichi's ear while he sleeps, but fails because he is wearing headphones, and instead enters his body by burrowing into his arm, taking over his right hand and naming itself Migi. Both beings retain their separate intellect and personalities because Shinichi was able to prevent Migi from travelling further up into his brain. As the pair meets other Parasytes, they take advantage of their unusual situation and gradually form a strong bond, working together to survive. This gives them an advantage when fighting other Parasytes, who frequently attack the pair when they realise Shinichi's human brain is still intact. Shinichi feels compelled to fight other Parasytes who consume humans as food, with Migi's assistance.

Synopsis of Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu English Subbed

They appeared out of nowhere: parasitic aliens who descended on Earth and quickly infiltrated humanity by burrowing into vulnerable targets' brains. In order to feed on unsuspecting prey, these insatiable beings gain complete control of their host and can morph into a variety of forms. Shinichi Izumi, a sixteen-year-old high school student, becomes infected with one of these parasites, but it does not take over his brain, instead landing in his right hand. Because it is unable to relocate, the parasite, now known as Migi, must rely on Shinichi to survive. As a result, the pair is forced to coexist in an uneasy manner and must defend themselves from hostile parasites hoping to eradicate this new threat to their species.
